Quinn couldn't help but laugh at his outburst, shaking her head. "It's okay darlin, I don't judge." She grinned at him. "Need a hug? How 'bout a tissue? Your mascara might start running," she raised an eyebrow while she taunted him. Her face turned serious, softer. "Do you wanna get cleaned up, call it an early night? You can stay in my room tonight... Couch might be uncomfortable when you're in such rough shape." She offered him a sympathetic smile. "I can sleep on the couch if you want."

"Why would I want you on the couch?" This reply was the easiest, even if it still came out awkward and halting and uncomfortable, his face tipped down into his shirt. He sniffed, winced, regretted it, and closed his eyes for a count of ten.
"...I could use a shower, though. Blood everywhere. Noses are the worst." He stood, slowly, his eyes resettling on her, and paused halfway standing. Trying to think. Bruised and puffy and uncomfortable, but after a moment, he still tipped his head down for another kiss.
It was surprisingly soft. Anything more than that would hurt too much.

Quinn didn't want to make assumptions, and their relationship status was a weird subject. So when Veer leaned down for a second kiss, her lips smiled under his, taken by surprise.
She almost asked if he wanted her to join him, but she stopped herself when she realized that might be pushing it a little bit. Instead, she nodded and took his hand in hers and lead him to her room- something that she actually hadn't done before.
She watched him for a moment, chewing her lip while she thought about what she wanted to say. Or how to say it. Maybe she just needed to grow a pair and take a leap.
"Do you want to try again? I um... I won't disappear this time. It's cool if you don't want to. Uh. I mean, you're not obligated to just cause you're sleeping with me tonight. Or whatever. But... I could be your girlfriend... If you wanted..."
Yep, that was pretty much the worst attempt at asking someone to be in a relationship ever.

It was so awkward that, at last, Veer laughed -- halting, and quiet, because anything else would hurt, but he did laugh. Fingers dipped into his eyes, he considered the question for a long moment while he waited for his body to calm down, for his mind to settle. It wasn't about to happen, but he could hope, at least, quiet and amused. "...would that mean I have to like buy you flowers and s**t?" It came out slow, this time definitely poking fun at her. But it was a friendly kind of fun, and not horror or something, at least.

She laughed, her eyes narrowed as she peered at him, lips pursed. "I just kissed you with a mouthful of blood. Do you really think I'm the type to want flowers?" She went on her tiptoes and planted a few gentle kisses along his jaw. "You just have to be willing to deal with me coming home in rough shape sometimes. And being out all hours of the night... Doing who knows what, who knows where." Quinn dropped back down onto her heels and sat down on her bed, staring up at him. Her fingers drummed against the soft material of her duvet anxiously.

"I do that anyway." He shifted, fidgeted, and finally peeled off his shirt entirely so that he could mop lightly at his face with it. There were bruises, nicks and scars -- more than before he'd gone away, definitely -- but most of it was obscured under more blood. Nose bleeds were nasty.
"Let me take a shower." One step back as he said it, then another, words muffled behind the weight of his t-shirt. "Five minutes. Then we can..."
He shrugged, and disappeared into the bathroom. Then, maybe, they could not talk about it and just go with it. Maybe.

Quinn watched as he took off his shirt, her lips dipping down into a frown when she saw the real extent of his scars, bruises and the blood. Ugh, blood. You'd think by now she'd be used to that. "Okay," she said quietly as he walked out the door. Soon after he stepped out of her room, Quinn pulled her own t-shirt up over her head, followed by kicking her yoga pants to the corner of her room, then pulled her hair out of its messy bun as she slipped into her bed. She pulled out her 3DS while she waited for him to come back and Pokemon was a damn good distraction from stupid serious conversations.

Cleaned up, Veer only looked a bit better -- coming out wrapped in a towel with the tumble of his mohawk over the bad eye to disguise most of the bruising. It didn't do a very good job. He was, in fact, a mess, even down to that hair, which needed a trim and a tidy, split ends chopped away and his scalp on either side buzzed down afresh. He needed to shave away red stubble, even scattered and faint as it was, from his jawline and the fuzz on his upper lip.
He needed to eat more. His stomach rumbled, and this one at least he would admit to.
"Uh. Want dinner?" He clung carefully to his towel as he made his way over to find fresh[ish] clothes and struggle into them.

Quinn couldn't help but stare when he walked back in the room and past her in his towel. Okay, so he looked like hell... But something about the scruffy face, messy hair, and scars was strangely attractive. Apparently she was a little bit twisted. She watched him for a moment before blushing and looking away while he got dressed; while she may not have any modesty what-so-ever didn't mean that Veer wanted to be stared at. "I could eat," she said, her attention turned back to her 3DS because she was sure if she wasn't distracted she would spew more mushy s**t at him that he probably wouldn't respond to anyway. Which... She really couldn't hold against him considering the night he had- timing wasn't exactly her forte. "I could cook? I don't suck at it," Quinn glanced up at him and offered him a smile. "Or we can order in and eat in bed and fall asleep, whatever you want."

Locker rooms in high school had taught Veer how to change quickly and without showing too much -- so when he looked up to see her eyes averted, it made him grin, back into his old self. Amused, maybe. He tugged the shirt on over his head to hide the expression some: black and faded and one of the few things he still had at hand. He needed to go buy [or, well, be honest, steal] some new clothes. Pretty much every store had a full length mirror in it somewhere... He hummed, scrubbing carefully at his good eye. "How about...I dunno. Chinese food or something. And TV and sleep."

"Sounds oddly perfect," she laughed. Quinn may not have been the one to get her a** handed to her on a silver platter tonight, but an early, comfortable night in was something she hadn't had in years. She grabbed the tv remote and her cell phone from the nightstand at her side. Flipping her phone open, she pulled up the Chinese restaurant that she had on speed dial [one of many take-out places residing in her contact list] and tossed the remote to Veer. Funny that their first date and the second start of their relationship involved Chinese food, she mused in her head. With that, Quinn put her 3DS away, called in her typical order, and got comfortable - which always seemed so easy with him. and be blue Wrap after another post? Or here, whatever~
