There it was. The exit. Heidi made a break for it, running as fast as her legs would carry her. She was going to get out of here, take a shower, eat some lunch, do some studying, and never come back to this course again. The shadowlings had other plans. While they had disappeared at first, they now returned at double the number Heidi had seen today and swarmed her.
