Gerraden listened to the boy's tail with interest, nodding when appropriate and then giving a low whistle. It was a lot to take in really, how this boy had only his uncle and that was in his opinion very sad, but at least he had someone right?
"Well the jungle is a great place to live, lots of resources here." The hybrid agree'd before he went to sit on the branch, letting his leg dangle over the edge.
"But you know if you get lonely, you know just living with your uncle ..you can always come and visit me. We could be brothers you and I. I've always wanted to have a sibling." Gerraden chuckled with a nod of his head.

Ray was a little shocked at the offer. Brothers? With someone he barely knew? He wanted to object, to say no. He'd been alone all this time, why would he need a brother? But, at the same time, he wanted a place to come back to, someplace he knew he'd be welcome. He could always go visit Lassara, but .. Lassara was a girl.. and girls could be.. weird. A brother. He smiled, that did sound nice.
"Well, if you don't mind me and my solitary ways, then I wouldn't mind having a brother." He looked quizzically at Gerraden, "What do brothers do anyways?"

Gerradan perked as the other agreed to be his 'bother' of sorts. After all if the alkidikes could all be sisters why couldn't he just adopt a brother of his own? Grinning like an idiot he was trying not too look quite so ..ecstatic as he felt though he had to think a moment on Ray's question. What do siblings do? He supposed they did normal things just like any other person...they just happened to be related.
"Well..we could go spear fishing! Or explore the forest! My mother and father often tell me the forest has its dangerous areas...wouldn't it be cool if we discovered some strange new creature no one has heard of before?" The young hybrid mentioned before he gave another nod of his head.
"I plan on traveling to the isles..where the alkidike live. Show them that half breeds are just as good as they are...but I need to train with someone..I need to be stronger first. "

Rayolun smiled at Gerrarden's large smile. Apparently he really wanted a brother. This should be entertaining if nothing else, he thought. And I do like spear fishing.....
"Well, if you want you can always come with me when I check my traps? I don't mind spear fishing either, it is rather fun. And your parents are right, there is dangerous things out in the jungle." He chuckled, "And discovering something new would be awesome! Though to find that we'd have to go to the deeper parts of the jungle where most hunters avoid." Maybe with Gerraden he could risk go hunting in there.. though his new brother would have to learn some of the basics to hunting: sneaking about quietly, reading jungle for tracks, sensing the animals moods since they often noticed predators first.. that sort of thing.. perhaps some practice hunts were in order....
At the mention of the Alkidike's isle, he perked up. Exploring that would be even more awesome But would they allow a half breed and a shifter there? Unlikely. "I doubt I'll ever be able to make it there, but if you do make sure you come find me and tell me about it!"

Gerraden gave a huge smile to his new adoptive brother, after all it wasn't every day you decided to adopt siblings! But he didn't like that Ray was alone, well beyond who was it again? Uncle? They would need to make sure to invite him over as well sometime. Rocking back and forth he envisioned what the isles would be like. Would there be strange plants there? Or creatures?
The more he thought on it the more he wished to bring Rayolun along for the adventure! But if he dared mention that to his mother she would have a fit..and possibly forbid them from going. Which would probably be a smart thing to do...
"Well I need to get stronger first. Then I can see about going there. And maybe I can bring you with me you never know." He commented with a firm nod of his head.
"Well we could always travel around the forest, I mean there are all sorts of caves and stuff I am sure has interesting critters in it. Maybe they taste good." He chuckled thinking about all the fun they were going to have in the future.

"Well, if you need to get stronger, hunting's a good way. Of course, I'm biased!" He grinned at Gerrarden, "I've never explored caves before. I tend to stick to the canopy for hunting or some ground hunts in some of the safer areas." Maybe there would be some new creature that lived in the caves... most people didn't enter them cause they were dark and creepy looking so that's were we can find some of the cooler stuff.. right? The more he though on it, the more interesting it was.

Gerraden nodded his head, after all he was never the type to stick to the known and explored areas. He tended to try and be as different in every way he could think. Still though he liked to be opposite of what people thought or expected he was still a very friendly man.
"yeah! Imagine if we discover some new beast, wouldn't that be neat? We could even name it I bet." He continued as he stared out into the forest below. Considering they had met with a thrown object into a bush Gerraden couldn't say that he wasn't enjoying himself.
"Ray we should definitely plan out an adventure sometime. Maybe not to the isles but just in the forest, I know I haven't explored it fully yet. Have you?"

Rayolun grinned, discover a new beast? That would be epic!He always wanted to see something new, something he could show or tell his uncle about. It was a game the two of them played, see who had seen the weirdest or strangest things, try to out tale each other with stories. It was only in those games that his quiet uncle actually talked a lot, otherwise it was small words and sentences only. So far Ray had lost all the tale battles, but maybe if he and his new brother went out looking, he could finally find something to impress his uncle...
"I've always wanted to find something new. And I know I haven't explored all of Jahaur yet! A lot of the canopy and a bit of the ground, but none of the coastal areas or the more dangerous places. Where would you want to start hunt- ah, exploring?" Rayolun caught himself and quickly corrected his words. He always referred to activities as hunting since that was what he almost always did. I really do need to do more things than just hunt, Rayolun thought.
Then an idea occurred to him. Hadn't Biroki, the guy who stuttered alot, mentioned magically charged ruins when they were discussing dyes? Perhaps with Gerraden I can go there and look Rayolun thought.

Now there was a question worth asking. Where should they start exploring? Thinking on the places he had been and the area's he had seen he immediately wanted to state that they should go to the isles....where the alkidikes lived. But Ray wasn't a hybrid...no he was a full blooded shifter...and they didn't exactly like outsiders... So that was out of the question. "Well..." He began his mind frantically searching for an idea when suddenly he recalled something his mother told him a long time ago. Something he had mentally submerged until now. "THere is a place my mother told me was a 'poisoned' part of the forest. She never wanted me to go there, but I bet there are all sorts of neat things to discover there. "

His eyebrow twitched upwards. Poisoned? If it was poisoned, something went wrong there.. and there would still be nastiness. Did Gerrarden want to go someplace dangerous? Rayolun didn't like taking unnecessary risks... he would much rather survive thank you very much. "You want to go somewhere where the jungle has been poisoned?" He asked incredulously. "The jungle has plenty of dark and dangerous areas if you want to go explore those, no need to go looking for something even worse! I've heard of a weird ruin that's different than all the other buildings we have. Metal or some other weird material. Let's go there! An acquaintance mentioned that it was magically charged or something. Magic's easier to deal with than poison. And if you die, at least it'll be fast and not lingering or painful like poison." He wasn't a coward, but why should he have to prove himself by doing stupid things?

Gerraden looked to his new 'brother' and gave him a large grin. Too dangerous huh? Sounded like he could be quoting his mother. Still he wasn't going to push it, after all what point would there be in annoying his new 'sibling'?
"Alright alright, maybe when we are done exploring the stuff closer to home then." He teased not going to drop it entirely but was going to leave it alone for now. Still the place he described sounded pretty interesting. Rayolun may of found something of interest with these ruins.
"So where are these ruins?" Gerraden inquired as he shifted his weight on the tree limb. There would be lots to keep him distracted in the near future but he wouldn't let that bother him. Nope. With lots to do in proving himself there was little he was going to allow to stop him from attaining it

Oh good, his new brother wasn't going to be too pigheadedly stupid about going to the poisoned part! Rayolun breathed a slight sigh of relief before pointing off into the distance. "About a day's travel that-a way. So not something we can do today or without some preparation. That and my acquaintance mentioned that it had strange tracks near it so perhaps you'll get to see some new creature." There, dangle the bait in front of Gerrarden and keep him away from the more dangerous parts of the jungle! His new brother seemed to like danger more than Rayolun did. Maybe that's what being raised in a safe home did to one.... "How about we stick with spear fishing for today? I haven't hunted yet and my stocks at camp are getting low." And giving them something to do will keep other bad exploration ideas out from Gerrarden's brain...

Spear fishing? Gerraden perked up, after all he had never spear fished before and that sounded rather interesting. "It sounds hard, fish are normally hard to catch anyway right? So how do you manage to spear them?" It was a polite question as he wondered if it was something you had to be really good at to even do somewhat well. He had never really fished before either, primarily they got their meat from trading or his mother would go out and hunt. Fish however wasn't something she bothered to try and get. "Your camping too? Wow I found the most interesting guy to be my brother. So do you camp long? Do you get all your own food? My mother does most of the hunting in our family, she uses a spear though."

jayoku We have enough posts in here if you want to end. Or we can keep going :3 Either works for me! Rayolun rolled his eyes with a chuckle at the new rush of questions. "Fishing for fish is fairly easy, just requires patience and speed. As for camping and hunting: I don't have a home. I just wander about and camp really. I don't have people I travel with so yes, I have to hunt all my own food." He chuckled again and shook his head. " Villagers are weird. Don't you do any hunting at all? I know you stay in once place all the time, but wouldn't that give you more time to hunt? Since you aren't traveling about?"

Gerraden looked to Ray with intrigue, after all it was his mother who hunted in the family not him or his father. She never brought him along, and perhaps it was because she wanted a bit of alone time, or she felt he may just get in the way. He felt like he should gather Ray up and take him home with him, his mother wouldn't mind right? Since he had adopted Ray to be his brother it would be fine if they shared their home with him. "Well if you don't have a home you could always come back with me." Gerraden offered as he swung his legs, "My mother is the one who hunts, though we can go to the market and trade for meat. She says that hunting is apart of her and she would rather do it herself." "I've been too busy trying to get to the alkidike islands, I guess I could learn to hunt...but I don't know how good a greatsword would work in a forest setting. That's the weapon I want to learn how to use..."
