Falias didn't see it coming - literally didn't see it coming.

One minute he'd been planning to put as much distance between himself and the self-proclaimed senshi as possible.

One footstep, not even two and suddenly he was stumbling with a yelp as something - well make that someone slammed into his back.

There was no keeping his balance, Falias knew that, even as he went down ungracefully but he did his best to try and yank out against his attacker not wanting to be the only one who ended up falling. As awkward as his attempts was though, it was hard to tell whether he'd actually succeed with any of his fumbling attempts.

There were enough bits and pieces hanging off of Al-Janah's costume that it was impossible to miss. Some of Falias's fumbling would, certainly, catch the dangling transparent feathers over his chest, draw him forward stumbling steps. He didn't go down, not the way Falias did. Instead it was a stagger, a drop forward onto one knee, half-crouched over the page.

He winced, at least, sucking a sharp and uncomfortable breath in between his teeth as he scrabbled to catch Falias's wrists. Keep him from doing any more damage. "How new are you?"

Falias made as best an attempt at it as he could, one of his flailing yanks even managing to force the other forward into a few stumbling steps. Not enough to send the other over like he'd been hoping.

He tried to swing out at the other as the other scrabbled to try and catch at his wrists - not wanting to be at any more disadvantage then he was was, but the red head was stronger than he looked - a lot stronger.

At the dark senshi's question he settled glaring at the dark-clad senshi "Why should I tell you?" The other had just attacked him after all and (to his eyes) unprovoked at that.

At least he went relatively still once Falias was somewhat-restrained; squinting down at him, one red curl tumbling down into his eye, head tipped. In the heart of his irises, though, was something distant, something feral. Something cruel. This was a temporary reprieve, and nothing more.

"It was a rhetorical question. The obvious answer, since you don't even know what I am, is 'really ******** new, Al-Janah, thank you for asking.'" And once it was out, the reprieve was over -- Al-Janah moving to shove a knee into Falias's stomach as he scrambled up off of him.

Falias really didn't like the way that the other was staring at him and besides what sort of creep went around just attacking people like that. Was this what this war thing that Camelot had mentioned was all about? Attacking people unprovoked and hurting people like those Negaverse creeps had done.

The dark-clad senshi was speaking, Falias hearing a mocking note in the other's voice. He heard a name, Al-Janah, the words thank you and then the breath was knocked out of him in a groan as the creep kneed him in the stomach, the resulting pain causing him to curl up almost instinctively.

sorry to be so slow with the tag back

Man down and, apparently, out -- Al-Janah actually paused, drawing in a breath, and trying to figure out how to do something more useful than just breaking noses. Thoughtfully, he reached one hand down to wrap fingers around Falias's throat and, slowly, squeezed. Once. Just enough to show what he was thinking.

He'd never actually killed a knight before -- nor anyone, for that matter -- but he knew that Leto liked it. He thought that he could choke the life out of the poor kid and take a trophy home for her. One troublemaker less on the other side. But he hesitated, eyes narrowed, just a bit distant.

Maybe, ruthless as he could be, he didn't quite have the guts, or the cruelty, to follow through.

Or maybe he would.

We should wrap this! Hopefully this is okay/not too forward of me. Might I suggest 'one good punch' to knock Al-Janah back and then run like hell, to finish up this fight? >_>

It sunk in that the other was planning to kill him, the thought settling with chilling clarity into his bones as the other wrapped his fingers around his throat and squeezed.

And he didn't want to die, he'd seen enough news to know that Destiny City had a lot of unexplained disappearances and more than its fair share of people turning up mysteriously dead and he didn't want to be one of them, didn't want to be just another statistic.

It was probably that gave him the frantic strength despite the choking to lash out at the dark-clad red head with all the strength he could muster, putting all the power he had behind the blow.

Falias didn't want to die out here.

So sorry for the slowness. That totally works for me. I'll fin Falias on my next post :3

It was entirely possible Al-Janah would have followed through -- except that Falias's strike caught him right in the temple, with enough force to knock him sideways. Dazed. Floundering. For a long moment all he saw was spots and the breath went out of him.

Al-Janah tried to summon up his attack, but his tongue was heavy in his mouth, he fumbled the words. Not that it mattered. He couldn't quite remember where the page was anyway...

There would be ample time for Falias to escape. Long after he was gone, Al-Janah would stay where he was, settled back against a wall and trying not to worry about the potential concussion.

The blow connected with the red head knocking the other sideways and (more importantly) off him. Falias took the opportunity to scramble up before taking off as fast as he could.

He wasn't about to stand around and let the dark senshi recover, in fact wanted as much distance between the dark senshi and himself as possible - just in case the other decided to come after him.

After he'd put what he'd felt to be enough distance between them, he would find somewhere secluded to power down and head back home as Marlin - there would be further looking for Camelot this night - third time decisively had not been the charm.
