"You're a nice person!" said Nuawahn, giving her another hug! She was nice, but he realized again that he didn't know her name.
"I'm Nuawahn," he announced, looking up at her with those sparkling eyes, "whats your name?" He needed to know her name so he could give her a nickname. Nicknames were fun. Some people made mean nicknames and that wasn't so fun. Nicknames meant you could play with words and letters and sounds in fun ways!
"I bet he will love exploring, once he tries it." his face grew, well, as serious as it could be, which wasn't really very serious. More comical than anything, "But you shouldn't force him to do things he doesn't want to do!" he said, scoldingly, "That wouldn't be very nice!" he nodded as if he had just said the most profound thing in the world. He smiled again.
"But I bet he'll find out on his own!"
His face turned ponderous as he thought about her question. And thought and thought and thought. He didn't like trying to remember the things he didn't remember- it made him feel a little confused and scared, and he didn't like feeling that way. Finally, his face lightened and he shrugged, scratching La'amu just behind her ear.
"I dunno!" he said cheerfully, "A really long time! She's really old, you know" he giggled at La'amu's permanently stern expression. "See?" he pointed out one of the places on her deep red fur that was speckled with white, "She's ooold!" he said again, all sunshine and smiles.
La'amu took the ridicule as bravely as she always did, with just a dignified snort and a flick of the ear and tail.

How had she not asked his name before? She must have been too wrapped up in the fact that he was without any adults to even notice that she didn't have he little boys name. "Thank you Nuawahn, you're nice as well. My name is Niadra." oh his eyes were so pretty, uncommon as well, but pretty none the less.
When he told her not to force Nyiim to do anything he didn't want to do she smiled. She agreed with the boy, but at the same time doubted she would ever be able to get Nyiim to do something that he didn't want to do.
A really long time? Well that didn't help. And just because his Capramel was old didn't mean anything. Surely he didn't get her when she was young, she could have been old ever since they departed from wherever he use to call home. "Awe that's not very name, I'm sure La'amu don't like to be called old." she teased him, still unsure what she should do with this whole situation.

"Niadra!" Oooooo! "Niadra! Niadrrra!" Her name was fun to play with. He gave La'amu a fickle and tolerated cuddle. "Niaaaaadra. Niadra..." Then he laughed.
"It starts with N! Like my name!" he said, breaking away from his capramel, "Can I call you... ummmm" he thought for a moment, Niniya? he frowned, perplexed. It sounded nice but it was longer than her name! That just wouldn't do! Nicknames were supposed to be shorter! "Nia!" he said, it wasn't as special or pretty as her name, but it was still pretty. And it was short, not that she needed to make her name short. Niaaaadra. Niiiiadra. Nidra? Noooo Niadra.
Suffice to say, Nua really liked her name.
And then it struck him.
"Nua... and Nia!" he gasped, as if he had just made the discovery of a lifetime, "It sounds the same!" Hooray! the nicknames matched! Now he was like his new, older, pretty friend!
He gave her a thoughtful look. "It's not nice...?" he looked at her, confused, "Why? Old means you're really smart and know a lot about lots of things?"
Maybe he shouldn't add that Nianianiadra was old too! Btu she wasssss. Not as old as Amma or Mommy but old. He wasn't old, and that was okay!

She laughed. The innocence that came from him was just adorable. She wondered if she ever had children would they be like that? She nodded when he said it started with the same letter as his name. "Hum, I like it. Nua and Nia have a good ring to them. Like we are great adventures." she said with a smile.
"Hum, I think that wise is a better world. Amma is very wiseeee." she with a nod. If he could say wise and not old that wouldn't offend anyone. "So Nua, where do you live?"
