Rayolun smiled to himself, he' found he liked having a female giving him all of her attention.. even if it was only cause he was telling a story...
"I think it'd have been a blast to live back then! All those strange creatures the tales mention that aren't around anymore.. I'd love to hunt those..." He had a big grin on his face. It would be an epic hunt to go after one of those legendary beasts!
"My favorite tales always have hunts in them," he mused out loud.

She nodded. Yes, hunting stories were always the most interesting kind. She wasn't big on hunting herself, but she did like to hear about them. "I would love to tame all those creatures. I'd be the first beast tamer!" she said happily. Although she didn't tell most people, and she hadn't even realized she was telling him, that was what she really wanted to do with her life. Raise and train different kinds of animals for different purposes. Mounts, pets, guards, just about anything and everything one could think of.

Rayolun raised an eyebrow. "Taming? That's an impressive goal. Would you catch the animals, or just take animals others have caught and train them?" Catching beasts alive was difficult, just catching them to eat was difficult!
"I can help you if you want. I can try and capture animals for you." It'd be a challenge and he'd get to talk to a person for more than one or two times. Not that he minded his solitary life, but it'd be nice to have a place he knew he could go to for conversation. And if it was where a pretty girl was? All the better.

Impressive? So he didn't think it was silly! That was a good start. When he asked how she would get them she thought for a second. She had always thought of getting them from others and training them, but it would be even better to catch her own. "I think a little bit of both really. Maybe some I've caught myself, and then some from others." she said with a nod.
When he said that he would help her she grabbed his arm with a smile. "You'd do that! That would be awesome!" she said happily. He was cute, fun to talk to, and willing to help her! This was her lucky day.

Rayolun smiled at her eager reaction. Hopefully she would be just as eager after having to chase the creatures about.. though maybe stealing young from a nest or capturing them with traps would be best...
"If you want, I can show you some tricks to hunting today? Torqu, a hunting acquaintance of mine, got wounded recently and and asked if I could clear out his traps for him. He has a pit trap so we may get lucky and there could be a creature alive there." If not, then he could show her how to make a trap that could catch an animal without harming it. And get dinner at the same time too! Since almost all Torqu's traps tended to be deadly...

She nodded happily. "I'd be more than happy to help you clear out his traps, it would be a bonus if we find a live animal for me to take home and train." she commented.
She briefly wondered what her mother would think if she brought home a pet, their house wasn't really made with tons of space, but as long as the animal wasn't all that big she was sure that her mother wouldn't mind.
"Lead the way." she said, wondering where these traps his friend had laid out would be located. Secretly she hoped there wouldn't be anything dead in any of them, but if there was she would have to deal with it. She had said she would help.

When Lasarra agreed, Rayolun smiled and stood up. Offering her a hand to stand he pointed off in the distance.
"His trap lines are this way. They're not too far away." With that he jumped up into the canopy and waited for Lasarra to join him before quickly and silently moving deeper into the jungle, always pausing to make sure Lasarra didn't fall behind.
Eventually he reached the area he was looking for. He smiled, Torqu's traps were ingenious and they usually worked: I'll have something to take back to him today at least! He thought as he saw the dead carcass hanging from a snare int eh tree.
"Wait here," he whispered to Lasarra before he slithered down a nearby vine and dragged the hanging snare over to the base of the tree. He checked the body to make sure there weren't any of the smaller poisonous predators eating it or had eaten any of it yet. Nodding to himself happily, he pulled the body up to the branch and untangled it from the noose like snare. Resetting the trap quickly, he grabbed the meat and headed back up to Lasarrra,
"I'll take this with us, it hasn't been dead to long and isn't too large so it shouldn't attract predators. The pit trap is next, so if we're to find a living creature, it'd be in there. Torqu likes quick kills normally so he sets deadly traps."
Wrapping the body with a waxed cloth, he stashed it in the bag used to carry any kills he made that all hunters had. You never knew when you'd find food or something you wanted to keep after all!
Jumping from branch to branch, Ray spotted several of Torqu's traps, all untriggered so he lead Lasarra around them. As they got close to the pit he heard some snarls.
"Ah, it seems we are lucky. The pit caught something!"

She took his hand and stood with a smile, kinda liking the feeling of her hand in his, but soon he released it and jumped into the canopy. Good feeling over she jumped into it and followed him, making sure to stay close enough to not get lost but not too close that it would bother him.
It didn't take long before there was a dead animal hanging from a tree, for a second she frowned but that it was gone. How was this any different from where she hunted? It wasn't, it was just this Torqu used traps where she used a bow and arrow when hunting. When Rayolun told her to wait she nodded and followed him with her eyes. It was a pretty big animal, not huge but still big. She smiled as the thought of the strength it would take. She would be dragging the animal on a tarp back home where he was carrying it like it was nothing.
She wondered what the pit trap would look like, but than again it was most likely just a pit as the name suggested. Following Rayolun she was careful not to get in any traps herself, even if that would be pretty interesting to have him get her out. She was drawn out of her thoughts by the sounds of the snarls. "It sounds young too!" the snarls weren't deep enough to be anything to big or grown, and the younger something was when you caught it the easier it was the train. She wanted to run to the pit and look in but she wasn't sure that it was safe so she waited for Rayolun.

Dropping to the ground near the pit, Rayolun checked the area for more traps. None. Good, at least we won't have to worry about stepping on a trap while we get the creature out. "It's safe down here. No traps other than the pit." He called out as he walked to the pit's edge and peered in. "It's a Radaku! Small and young." He smiled, "Means it'll be easier to control and get out of that pit." He watched Lassara as she came over. "What do you suggest we do to calm it down?" He asked her since she was going to be the tamer. He knew how to kill, but calming creatures down was something else! a pet dino we should finish this one :3 then eventually start another XD

Lasarra followed close behind him, looking around to make sure that there wasn't any traps that he missed. It would suck to get hurt now. When she got to the edge she saw the small Radaku and smiled. It was cute, and in a way resembled her in its coloring. She liked it. She wasn't sure, but it looked like a girl. She was happy that she would be saving it from the pit.
When Rayolun asked what to do to calm it down she paused. She didn't know really, this would be the first beast she tamed. Thinking quickly she got some of the food she had in her bag. "Food should calm it down. Do you think that if I get down there you can get me back up?" the pit wasn't that big, but she would need help to get both her and the Radaku back up.

Rayolun's eyebrow twitched upwards, "You want to go into the pit? It's small but still dangerous." He said with doubt in his tone. "But if that's what you want, then yeah, I can pull you back up. Pits not to deep. Try not to get bitten," he said as he waited to see what the surprising girl would do. She's got guts, I'll give her that. Not sure how many people would want to get into a pit with a Radaku, even if it was small.

She smiled. "Don't worry, I'm not afraid and the radaku will be able to sense that. Plus I have food, so it will be distracted. While it's eating I'll sneak as much as I can and put it in this net. Than you just have to get us out! Good thing it's a baby, for one it will be easier to tame and also easier to get out of the pit alive." she said with a laugh. She was happy that she was so prepared, she didn't know this was where her day was going to take her but she still had everything she needed!
After a few seconds she went through with her plan and was in the pit. At first the cub was snarling and looked like it would attack her, but when she threw a piece of food to the other side of the pit hunger won over fear and the cub ran to the food. Quietly she threw the net and caught the radaku with her first try! She smiled in happiness and than went towards where Ray was, holding up the end of the net. "Pull the little girl up and than help me." she said happily. The radaku was not happy, and if it wasn't such a good net than it would have been able to hurt one of them or even break the net, but thankfully Lasarra had spared no expense in getting the net and it was a good one.

a pet dino We can end it with this post and have them meet again in the Meta! Ray will be much impressed with hot new Lasarra! Rayolun watched nervously as his new friend went into the pit with the radaku. He smiled with relief when he saw the young critter get caught easily. Hefting the rope a few time's to get it's weight, Rayolun began to pull up the net. It ma have been small, but it wasn't a light weight! He finished pulling it up and tied the rope off to a tree to keep the caught radaku there while he pulled Lasarra out. He gave her a hand up then looked about. The little amount of light that got through the canopy was dimming. Meaning he should return to his camp soon. He gave Lasarra help in getting her new pet back to her home, before he waved good bye at the village boundary and vanished into the darkening jungle to go back and get some rest.
