She frowned at his glare, matching it. ”No, my business is my business. You need to keep your slimy nose out of my business” she huffed back, moving closer to her mother and leaning against her. However, Kheri’s next bout of accusations was nearly too much to handle.

Ajia bowed over in howling laughter.

”R-replace you?!” she gasped, tears edging her eyes from the force of the laughter. Oh goodness, what a dweeb, Ajia thought fondly, before going into another burst of laughter. ”No one’s replacing you, nosy! You’re my brother, not Konji!” she laughed, now leaning heavier into her mother. She shook her head when her laughs just turned into pants of air. ”Oh, momma, Kheri is silly, isn’t he?”

However, humor was lost when her younger brother denied her berate. Her cyan eyes flashed. ”You do! You always do this!” she scoffed, shaking her head. She looked up at her mother, putting on her best contrite look. ”Alright momma. I won’t fight.” she murmured in agreement. She opened her mouth to tell her ask how Konji could possibly feel safe with what Kheri did when, someone caught her eye.

Barawai! Ajia moved to run after him, going only a few feet, before stopping and turning to her mother. She dashed back and nudged her face at her mother’s front leg. ”Momma, I’m going to go train with Barawai a little bit!” she hollered in excitement. Of course, training meant playing, despite Ajia’s refusal to believe that she played. She grinned in excitement, glancing over at her friend every now and then. ”I’ll be sure to greet all the newcomers, too!” she promised. And, without waiting permission, she was off, racing to where Barawai, Barawai’s mother, and Taji were currently sitting.

”Bara!” Ajia yelled, playfully tackling the cub.

Howa sat down to rest as she saw Taji make his way towards her. Unfortunately, the little exertion of energy really tired her out. She wouldn't admit it, but taking care of the cubs was a bit exhausting. The little ones were a pawfull.
Her head dipped down, acknowledging Taji. His presence was refreshing and the other animals seemed excited, especially the little leopards. Her eyes drifted towards them as a smile crinkled her cheeks. Taji's laugh brought her attention back to him. "Good, do not take my current state as weakness. I can preform my duties."

A familiar cry filtered into her ears and she snapped her head around. Panic flashed through her features as she recognized the noise to be that of one her cubs. She twist over to see who was pulling at her tail. Bara, of course. Her muscles relaxed once she spotted him. Though...what if more came? Thankfully, a quick look around told her that Bara seemed to be it. Unless a few were practicing their prowling skills. Either way, she had confidence that they would find her. At least Bara did.

She scooped Bara up between her paws and sat back down. "Not today, little one." Chucking she continued, "But maybe you can help me keep watch. We need to make sure the rules are followed and that nobody gets too hurt." It was encouraging that he wanted to get involved, but the cubs really were too young. They'd get trampled under the adults.

User ImageKheri jumped and stiffened as his mother smoothed down his fur, unsuspecting the motion. However, after his initial fright, and realizing that it was just his mother, he relaxed considerably before giving his mother a guarded glance. Being touched didn’t make him feel at ease. But, he’d allow it if it was his mom. She had the right to touch him, obviously. He just had to get used to touching….eventually. Definitely not today.

Glowering at Ajia, it took much self-resistance to go over, and n** his sister for such a comment. Of course her business was his business. All of his family’s business was his. It was an unspoken rule in their tight knit circle, or so he thought. Apparently his sister wasn’t aware of it. “I’m not going to, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me,” he snarled, small claws digging into the dirt. She was lucky that their momma was around or else he was going to bite at her, in public or not.

The cub looked befuddled as he heard the news of not being replaced, and his eyes sweeped from his mother to Ajia, to Konja, and then back again. “B-But,” he scrunched his brows together and backed up a bit, embarrassed and humiliated beyond belief. However, he also felt a huge surge of relief and joy. Such an odd, tumultuous mix of emotions. “He called Ajia his sister!” he proclaimed, giving his mother a pleading look, hoping that she’d understand. He wasn’t going to let no good sister snatcher join the pride that his family resided in, no way no how.

Kheri confused look turned into a fierce glare, however; and he stood up threateningly before making a step towards his sibling. “I do not!” he practically shouted, stomping a front leg in emphasis while baring his fangs.

His mother’s voice soon caught his attention, and he turned his head towards her, ears flattened and gaze softened. “Sorry, momma. I won’t fight anymore.” Not with her in the vicinity, at least.

With one stray, reluctant side glance at Konji; Kheri mutely nodded in agreement. It wasn’t like he wanted to start another fight. But he was going to keep an eye on this other…leopard. He couldn’t trust the male. Not so close to his family.

The cub’s eyes radiated with warmth at the special task his mother gave him, and he curtly nodded, sitting straight and proud. “Will do, Momma!” he said, eager to get to work. Though, it was something that he did for his siblings benefit all the time. He could probably do it in his sleep, if need be. What was a few more cubs going to matter? Still, this mission was of the highest regard. Almost as high as watching Konji.

Folding his ears back, he looked over at his mother with the sweetest look he could muster. “Could I do it with Konji though? Don’t want him to feel too lonely.” He added, hoping that she’d answer yes.

User ImageBara squirmed as he was picked up by his mother, letting out a noise that was between a giggle and a whine. It sure was fun to have his mom carry him to where she wanted him to be, but it wasn’t exactly the most masculine thing to enjoy. Heaven forbid if anyone found out.

The hybrid looked up at his mother forlornly, trying to look as pathetic as possible. If not today, then when was he going to be able to play? Never? Didn’t seem fair to him at all. Plenty of the other adults were able to participate, why couldn’t he? “But momma,” he cried, pushing up on his mother’s chin with his head as if that would help his cause any. “I want to play.”

Frowning, he settled down next to his mother, getting comfortable as he wiggled to and fro. She provided only the best cushioning, and was his favorite to snuggle up against, by far.

“I guess I could help with that,” he mumbled, moving from his sitting position, to lay down upon his mother’s legs, staring out at the movement around them in boredom. It wasn’t what he really desired to do though. Not to mention, it seemed like a pretty drab task to do. Why couldn’t someone else be given that task?

His boredom was short lived however, when his best friend barreled right into he and his mother. “Aj!” he shouted, trying to n** at her neck playfully whilist trying to wiggle her off and not disturb his mother too much. So much for being extra good. The cub was bound to get into tons of mischief with the leopardess now at his side.

User Image Jahzara had been wandering the rogue lands by herself for only a couple days before she found herself on the borders of the Kwa Kikombe, admittedly a bit eager to see men sweating as they fought for something. The minor details meant nothing to this lioness. She was purely here for the men. Jahzara wasn't about to wreck her newfound freedom, but she didn't see how it could hurt to watch. "I hope they put on a good show." The lioness grinned as she found herself a spot to watch among the crowd. Just so long as she didn't get dirty she'd be okay.

User Image----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tryphena was a cub who had way to much energy and never gave more than a second to think about something before she did it. Her mother must have great patience with her to not ground her for the rest of her life for wandering off all the time. Either that or Tryphena was excellent at sneaking away and returning without anyone noticing. Who was to say which one was the correct one. "Wow! There are so many different people here!" The young girl exclaimed, trotting along happily through the crowds. What was going on that had caused so many to assemble? She was determined to find out. "HELLLOOO." Tryphena said loudly enough for anyone close by to hear. Maybe one of them could explain to her what was going on.

User ImagePapina had temporarily escaped from pride life to wander the rogue lands, searching for some sort of excitement or entertainment. Ever since she was little the lioness was drawn to the more adventurous lifestyle which seemed to work well with her pride since wandering was expected if you were apart gypsy pride. Well, it wasn't expected, but it was highly common. Needless to say, Papina was eager to explore the lands and dig up all sorts of fun and adventures. When word reached her of today's games she excitedly scampered here and found herself a spot to watch. Part of her wondered if it might be more fun to participate. Only problem was she didn't know any of the rules. "I wonder if there's anyone around who can tell me." She said, looking over heads in search of someone who looked like they had experience in the games.

{{Tah dah! Wasn't sure what to have them do so I just tossed'em out randomly. XD May have more stop by.}}

All right, game one is on! It consists of throwing a rock at a smaller rock, similar to bocce.

IC

The lion will either roll or throw a decent sized rock via their paw, their tail, their mouth, however you'd like towards the smaller rock that Taji will toss a couple dozen meters out. SoA can attempt to hit the small rock once per post. If you have more than one SoA playing, I'd recommend making more than one post. Once someone hits the rock, the game is over and they are the winner!

OOC

Taji will post after this one to open the game and explain it to those participating. SilverLutz will generate a random number. In order for your SoA to hit the small rock, you must roll the same number. To gauge how well the rock is tossed (if it misses), you can react to how close your rolled number is to the original roll. For example, the target number is 26. SoA A rolls a 2. Oh wow, what a spectacular miss! Better luck next time. SoA B rolls a 25. Wow! What a good toss! So close!

So, in short, it's a 'match my number' game. Very simple! You must be an adol or adult to enter, but anyone can start playing at any time. Please allow someone to post between your posts, and try to get a few lines out.

Prize

Our second leopard cub will go to the winner. Here she is! Adorbs, right?

User Image

Just wait for Taji to explain the game and away we go! Feel free to post between now and then, though. Just no playing yet.

Baridi smiled at her children as they agreed not to fight. She knew the peace would only last for a short period of time, but at least, for now, things would be somewhat calm. Ajia ran off, leaving Kheri at her paws. The question from the little male made her chuckled and she shook her head in amusement.

"Why don't you go watch the other cubs so they don't get hurt?" she suggested. "I feel like Konji may want to try his paw at the games, and I don't want my little leopard getting hurt himself in the process." She gave Kheri a wink before standing, moving back a few paces to clear the land. It looked as though the large brown lion was going to start speaking.

"Why don't you go help her out?" she added, nodding in the direction of a little white cub that had just appeared on the scene. "She looks new. I bet you could tell her all about the things that go on here."

Taji laughed as one of Howa's kids ran up to her. Ah, they were like her little shadows. He wondered how long they'd hang around like this. It was cute, yes, but he could see it sending the older feline up a tree. She liked her status in the pride, after all, and being in charge was hard when you had a bunch of little cubs to look after.

He turned his gaze to the new influx of creatures and decided that now was as good a time as any to start the games. He gave Howa a wink before standing and moving to stand in the somewhat center of the are that everyone had gathered in. He cleared his throat before starting to speak, his well-practiced 'announcer' voice booming through the savanna.

"Welcome, welcome! To our friends that have appeared from the rouge lands, we, the Kwa Kikombe, welcome you warmly to our lands. We do hope you've brought your A game, because we're about to have some fun!" He made eye contact with each of the new-comers, giving them a winning smile as he did so. He didn't want any of them to feel uncomfortable here.

"This game is very easy, my friends," he said as he came to a stop beside a small pile of rocks. "All you have to do is..."

He paused for effect as he rummaged through the pile of rocks for the smallest one. Once Taji found it, he picked it up in his paw and gave it a hefty toss. It landed and rolled just a few more feet before coming to a comfortable rest. Another pause, and then Taji turned to address the gathered felines once more.

"...hit that rock! Now of course, there are a few rules," he said as he drew a line in the dirt with his paw. "You must remain behind this line, but you can get as much of a running start as you'd like. Give one of these rocks here a toss, and may luck be with you!"

He moved, smiling just a bit. He loved games even when he didn't get to play.

[All right, feel free to give it your best shot! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, either here or in a PM.

EDIT:....what are the odds I'd roll a 26 when that was the example number...1 out of 40 I suppose.]

Konji was happy to see all the eager, excited kids, even if they seemed to have mixed reviews of him. He liked that they were going to watch the games- maybe he could get the little ones to be impressed with him, and they could see that he was there to have fun with them and not because he was looking to run off with anyone or anything equally traumatic.

He smiled and looked at the lion who was leading the games, listening to what he had to say. All he had to do was hit a rock with another rock? That sounded like something he could do with his eyes closed! He didn't need to feel too worried, right? And what was that about a running start? Puh! The rock he had thrown wasn't that far away, was it? surely he would be able to reach it just by standing at the line and giving it a toss.

So that was what he did- he drew up to the line and chucked his rock, putting as much muscle as he could behind his throw. He watched it land a little over mid way between himself and his target, the leopard looking more than a little stunned.

But... but he was so good at throwing stones!

He frowned, thoughtful, and looked at the lion. Clearly there was a different in strength he hadn't taken into consideration. Lions were naturally stronger than leopards, so perhaps it wouldn't have been better for him to have taken a bit of a running start. If he wanted to win, he would have to do better.

But he was learning, and that was fun too. He had an urge inside of him to get better- that was what he enjoyed most about playing in competitions. That burning to grow and become even stronger.

He would get it next time!

Stepping through the crowd was a bit uncomfortable for the large male. He kept brushing up against excited children, and even more excited adults. But not a one of them looked like the one he was searching for. He frowned openly, an odd sight in this crowd. She obviously wasn't here, but perhaps he could find something interesting to take his mind off of his troubles?

Stepping closer to the loud voice, he listened as it bellowed the rules. A game? In the middle of nowhere? Ghubari tilted his head to the side in pure confusion. He was in the rogue lands right? He hadn't picked up on any tell tale scents of a pride ...

As he listened on to the rules, he couldn't help but smirk. So all he had to do was hit the rock ... with another rock? HA! That was too easy. Rolling his eyes in mock irritation he stepped up to the line the older male had drawn. Confident that he could hit the rock on his first try ...

Looking about the ground he found the perfect specimen, a larger rock, with smooth body. Picking it up with his tail, he got into position and prepared to toss it.

A MISS!

But not by much.

Ghubari kicked the dirt around him and stomped off to the side, to watch others give it their best shot. Perhaps there was more ot this game, than he had originally thought.

Miji the little elephant watched as all of the other animals tried to toss the rocks. That looks like so much fun she pouted to her self. I never get included in anything fun. She stared intently and with envy as she saw rock after rock being tossed.

She sat on the ground and thought to herself maybe I could run in real quick and give in a try, I would throw it real fast and then run away and they would barely notice me in all that excitement.

She paced back and forth as she wondered if she could pull if off. It looked so easy and so fun and the more she watched the more she wanted to try it. All of them seemed to keep missing. She got excited as she saw an almost hit but it was just barely. Almost she whispered to herself.

That had done it, the hit right there told her she just needed to go for it. She walked over and picked up one of the big rocks near by. It felt heavy in her trunk since she was still a small thing. With one heave she tossed the rock and watched to see if it hit.

Her eyes widened as she watched it make a perfect hit on the other rock. Her eyes filled with tears of happiness I...I did it, I can't believe I hit it. She jumped up and down with joy and completely forgot about how scared of everyone else she was. She didn't care, she finally was brave enough to do something for once. This was a great day for Miji, a day she would remember forever.

The noise and excitement was an immediate draw to the curious lioness who had spent so much time sheltered in her tiny, xenophobic pride. Without consideration for whether or not she would be welcome or even if her companion wanted to join in on the festivities, Kawasemi eagerly trotted towards the activity that made her fur bristle with anticipation. Occasionally turning around to goad the tall, dark follower with her to hurry. C'nul! I weld du raa whed dhairr'sa nuailr! (C'mon! I want to see what they're doing!)

User Image

What was she doing out here away from the Mvua Msafiri? Strychnos was still trying to understand how the tropical lioness had come so far from her home territory--their home territory. Not that he had considered the enclosed pride his home in years. She was so different from the others, too curious for her own good, too outgoing. So unlike them. Kawasemi must have caused a whole lot of trouble amongst them with her thirst for knowledge. It made him suspicious as to the reasons why they had let her leave in the first place. Wearily following her jubilant, dancing steps towards the gathering. He'd given up trying to stop her from poking her nose in other people's business, she never listened anyway. Dul'd shesra ed dhan raica el arafheld. Thairr'rr dhailc irruis ssenirr. (Don't charge at them like an elephant. They'll think your crazy.)

As they came up to the ochre red maned lion explaining the rules of what appeared to be a game to Strych's eyes, he paused just behind the rest of the crowd, reluctant to get any closer. Kawasemi on the other hand... Silver blue eyes sparkled with an intense focus as she tried to understand what was happening. Ignoring the sage warning as she wiggled in place, unable to stand still. Tempted to push towards the front of the crowd for a better look, though she resisted, for the moment sticking near the side of a familiar face in all the newness. Id ruucr raica llil! Whed esa dhairr nuailr? (It looks like fun! What are they doing?)

Of course she would want to join in on this insanity. Strychnos grimaced at the thought. He'd been a loner far too long to enjoy this sort of crowd. Yet, looking down at her childishly eager face, filled with so much exuberance he found himself unable to deny her. Maybe she wasn't the only one who found comfort in familiarity. Saanr raica irrui heya du surr e susc eln rad aid du duish dha ula uyas dhasa. Tha ula whu radr dhaais susc du duish llaisrd air dha waillas.. I riarr. (Seems like you have to roll a rock and get it to touch the one over there. The one who gets their rock to touch first is the winner.. I guess.)

I sel nu dhed! I weld du freirr duu! (I can do that! I want to play too!) And without any further warning the pale female with her exotic markings was bounding up to get her turn.

Konji couldn't believe what he had seen! A little elephant had come up to play with them and had managed to do what they couldn't! It was absolutely amazing! he wanted to be as talented as the elephant! They were so strong, even when young. No wonder very few thought to challenge them. It made his heart burn with a deep passion. How long had it been since he had felt so ready to train and improve himself? Since he hadn't felt bored?

He really liked it here!

"That was amazing! And yours too," he said to the lion who had thrown the rock just after him, "you almost got the rock too! I was by far the worst! Perhaps later we can throw more rocks together- I want to get better at it, too!"

He couldn't wait to see what was coming for them next. Maybe the next game would help him prove his worth to the other members of the pride. He wanted to be one of them!

Taji watched with pride as a few brave souls stepped up to try the game first. The leopard did give the rock a good heave, but it fell a bit short. No matter, he wanted to tell the other male. Leopards had strengths in other areas, which was why it was so important for the pride to have a diverse group of animals. Another rouge stepped up to try his luck, and...oh! So close! The crowd gave a collective 'aw' as the dark male missed.

He was about to encourage more to step up and try when a young elephant made her way to the line. Taji's eyes widened in surprise, but he let her play. The game was open to all, after all, and even though she was young, she was easily the size of most of the lions here. She could certainly hold her own. In the distance he could see the herd of elephants she most likely belonged to and was glad that the mothers in that herd felt safe to let their child wander this way.

Taji turned his gaze back to the female as she tossed her rock...and hit his squarely. He let out a triumphant laugh as the crowd cheered, and he stood to move to her side. "Well done, little sister!" he said as he picked up the little trophy: a wreath of flowers one of the cheetahs had woven for the victor. He gently placed it on her grey head with his paw before giving her a wide grin.

"Congratulations! The first ever elephant to win any game I've been witness to!" He turned after that, facing the crowd and a few more new comers: very brightly colored lions. One hung to the back, but another was right up in the front, eager to play from the look on her face.

"What a wonderful game! Allow me to set up for the next one, and we'll continue. Keep that fighting spirit flowing!"

On to the second and final game! This one is a bit different from the last, although it does involve numbers. Get your math hats on, kids!

IC

Taji is going to draw a few circles in the dirt at the bottom of a slightly sloped hill. The circles will resemble a target, with one small circle in the middle, surrounded by larger and larger circles. There will be three in all. He will draw a line about halfway up the slight hill to mark a launching point for the contestants. The object this time is to run down the hill, jump at the line, and try to land in the center of the target that was drawn at the bottom of the hill. Each circle has a different value, and the one who reaches the target score wins!

OOC

Every post, you will generate a random number from 1-3. Your goal is to be the first to get 10 points. You will add your posts together to determine your score. An example:

Post 1 - 1
Post 2 - 3
Post 3 - 3
Post 4 - 2
Post 5 - 2

Congratulations, you reached (and passed) the 10 target score! You've won! Just so everyone is clear on where they stand, Silver will keep a record in her post of who has rolled what and where they stand in the race to 10.

To reflect the distance your SoA jumped, rolling a 1 is in the outer ring, a 2 is the middle ring, and a 3 is dead center. For example, SoA A rolls a 2. Not too shabby, they landed in the middle ring. A respectable jump! SoA B rolls a 1. Whoops...maybe they tripped when they jumped and just barely got in the ring. SoA C rolls a 1. Maybe they over-shot their goal and put too much power into their leap, sending them clear over the target and landing on the far side of the outer ring. SoA D rolls a 3. Woo! Nice jump, right in the middle of the inner ring!

Please don't play if you've already won. You're more than welcome to have your SoA continue to watch, though!

Prize

For the player that reaches 10 first, our final cub!

Please wait for Taji to explain the rules to the participants, then feel free to post. Good luck!
