"He knows better than to hunt in settlements, at the very least," Nyiim offered, leaning out and down to give the raptrix a good scratch on the head. Bosede's tail thumped happily, and his eyes rolled up to meet his companion before Nyiim sat back again to address Niadra about the new family.
"Yes, I've spoken to them. I feel familiar enough to at least introduce them to you," he nodded, tapping his fingers lightly on the railing as he thought, "The father is an artisan, from what I gather. I never was too fond of basket-weaving and the like. Perhaps you're right. I'd might as well learn to know them better, maybe he could the secret to my future."
Unfortunately for Niadra, it seemed as if her question as to the father's profession had bought Nyiim some extra time around this man and his family, including the daughters that she was wary of. Having not voiced her opinion, though, Nyiim was none the wiser to it and simply hooked a foot around a support beam.
"How about you? Have you met any new people, tacked anyone on?" He didn't imagine that a clan of Leaf Earthlings would willingly accept another clan's members or another race entirely onto their troupe, but he also didn't know the ways of the nomadic clan well enough to judge.

She smiled, leaning over to also scratch Bosede. "That's because he is the smartest raptrix out there! He get's it from his owner." she teased with a smile.
Oh wait... This wasn't what she meant. He could get to know the father better sure, but them? Them meant daughters. The very think she was wishing to keep him away from! Great. If she didn't think he would look at her like she was crazy she would have hit herself in the the head. No... She had to think of another plan. Ah ha! "Oh an artisan? No, I couldn't picture you basket weaving either." she smiled at the mental image. "I wasn't aware that was his profession. Perhaps he isn't the secret to your future after all." maybe he would think her crazy for saying one thing and then disagreeing with it, but hopefully he would chalk it up to the fact that she didn't know the man was an artisan. Maybe he wouldn't think her too draft.
When he asked her she had met any new people she wondered if she should mention any boys. Maybe make him jealous? Then again she wasn't sure if Nyiim even felt anything towards her. And if she started talking about boys then it was possible he would rule her out forever. No, that tactic wouldn't work. "Ah, no one who really stands out. However I know we are going back to the forests after this. There is a settlement that has a few performers, shifters, and I wouldn't be surprised if one of them ended up leaving with us. You know my dad can be pretty persuasive."

The sudden change in opinion didn't really strike Nyiim as anything unusual. Niadra hadn't known that the man was an artisan, and so probably had imagined him a traditional hunter or warrior. His status had probably been part of their issue back in Isd. He certainly hoped they'd do better here. The boy decided to make it his duty to be sure that they were all safe and well-fed. Everyone was the new guy at some point in their lives.
His eyebrows perked, though, when he heard Niadra mention the Shifters. He'd rather like to see one himself, but traveling alone toward Jahuar wasn't the safest idea if the intent was to meet different races. From what he understood, the forest was wrought with rivalry between the Shifters and Alkidikes. It wouldn't do well to be caught in the middle of a fight without a proper weapon.
"Do you think they'd be willing to come back here to perform?" he asked, his intentions clear. Maybe he could meet a Shifter after all! "I don't imagine anyone around here has any bias against Shifters..."

Good. He didn't say anything about her change of heart. Hopefully he wasn't saying anything because he didn't think anything of it, not because he didn't want to offend her. Oh well, there was nothing she could do about it now but hope that her words would keep him at least somewhat away from the two new girls.
When he asked if they would be willing to come back to preform she shrugged. "I don't see why not. If they start traveling with us then they are going to end up back here with us. I don't think anyone around here would say anything either, but even so my father would most likely talk to everyone before hand just in case. Wouldn't want anyone getting hurt." she said nodding. She considered her people fair people, open minded even. She had never really met anyone who had any issue with another race. She herself didn't really think she would ever see one of them like she did those of the leaf tribe, but she also had nothing against halfbreeds. "If you get lucky you won't even have to come with me to see a shifter shift."

Nyiim nodded in understanding. Yes, that all made quite a bit of sense. If you were going to accept new members into your clan, regardless of race, it would be nice to have them not incite a riot upon arriving to Yware and not going home with gaping flesh wounds. The question then became... did Niadra's family see these collected members as their clan as well? There was nothing wrong with it, of course, but it seemed a bit odd to a Leaf boy who had only lived in Yware his entire life.
Then there came the reasonable offer that he may not have to travel to see a Shifter shift. Had he seen one in its average, day-to-day colors? He was almost positive. To see one shift, however...
He imagined a dance just as the sun set, watching all of the Shifters become... oh, whatever color they became! A small smile crept over his face, and he looked to Niadra as soon as he realized it on himself.
"Well, that'd be pretty convenient," he agreed. Niadra wanted him to go, of course, but he was pretty sure that they both understood the chances were slim. Maybe some day. He'd like to see more of the world, and he was finally of an age where it was acceptable to wander off on your own and make your own decisions... to a point. With him trying so hard to find his place in the tribe and in life. It was hard without his parents, but it wasn't something he liked to talk about. Luckily, the pity-concern had worn off by now.
"How many other lands have you been to? As a whole," he asked then. Bosede stood and began barking at someone wandering by. Nyiim craned his neck to be sure it was safe and then sat back down as the raptrix fumbled down the stairs to greet their nearest neighbor.
"But if he doesn't know you..."
Of course, he was referring to the animal's habit of growling threateningly at strangers... any strangers. Anyone at all.

Niadra watched as a smile spread over Nyiim's face. Oh if she could just see in that head of his what he was thinking about. Was he smiling at her because he actually had feelings for her, feelings that he just hadn't told her yet? Was he smiling because it was possible he was getting out of having to travel with her family and still being able to see a shifter? Ah the possibilities...
She nodded when he said it would be convenient. That was her new goal then. To bring back a male shifter. After all, if she brought back a female shifter there was a case that Nyiim would be so enchanted by her looks that he would fall for her and not realize that he and Niadra were perfect for each other! No, she had to bring back a male.
She was about to tell him when Bosede started barking. She watched Nyiim as he checked to see who it was and when he looked satisfied she smiled. "He's just protective." she said with a laugh. It was a good thing, since Nyiim didn't have his parents she was happy that he had at least someone to look after him. Even if that someone was a raptrix.
"Well, I remember going to Zena once when I was really little. Not even old enough to really preform anything. Those memories are more of what everyone has told me rather then what I remember myself. Other then that we've been pretty much everywhere." she said with a shurg. Yes, Niadra was pretty worldly thanks to the way she was brought up. It was because of this that the different races didn't mean as much to her as it did to some people.

Nyiim nodded, listening attentively. Zena was a whole other world to him, one he had only read about and heard stories likely exaggerated by those who told them. He couldn't imagine a frozen desert, nor the "ice" and "snow" that people spoke of. He made a mental note to ask to go to Zena, should he ever get a reasonable chance to follow Niadra and her clan. What he wouldn't give to be able to glean audible guidance from his father! He would need to consult him later, in the ways that one did with those who had passed on.
"Some day you'll get me to come," he nodded, and turned slightly away and shook his head. "I met a sage the other day, you know. She agreed that I'm not quite cut out for magic." He smirked and sighed.
"I shouldn't be trusted with fireballs anyway. At least with a melee weapon I'm only going to accidentally hurt myself, and not raze the village to the ground."

She smiled when he said that one day he would come with her she could feel a spark in her heart ignite. Butterflies in her stomach. Sure he always told her when she asked that he would think about it, but this was one of the first times that he had said something without her asking him, or even pushing him. This was new, however she knew as much she tried to hide these emotions her face most likely gave away more of her happiness then she wished.
When he said he went and saw a sage she laughed. She couldn't see him as a mage, or anything to do with magic. A weapon was much more his style. At least that was how she saw it. "Well it's good that your eliminating things one by one." she knew how important it was to him to find where he belonged, so that was one step closer.
She hadn't really realized but it was getting later, and she needed to start heading back for the show. She still have to change. "Well dear, I need to get going. Promise you'll come see me tonight?" she begged with a smile. Without him it wouldn't be the same. When she was home, it was if all her performances were just for him.

"Of course," Nyiim nodded, giving another one of those rare smiles. He rather enjoyed Niadra's performances, although he imagined that they wouldn't be nearly as interesting if his best friend wasn't involved. She knew how to move, for sure, and she knew how to sing. He would push himself to the front of the audience, as per usual, and be there clapping and grinning with the rest of them.
"Go get ready. We'll be there."

Niadra smiled and clapped. She grabbed Nyiim in a tight hug before turning and going to climb out of the tree. "Wish me luck." she said with a laugh before she started to climb down. Once on the floor she waved back up at Nyiim once more before hurrying to her family.
That nights show would be one to remember for sure.
