"Faces is personal," she replied tersely, concentrating. It was hard to keep the smaller girl from landing anything, and doubly hard to talk and fight. It was taking the edge off her anger, and she needed it. She took another shot at her, barely a glancing blow.
"He can't laugh without it hurtin', thanks t' you. That's ******** up." Cussing about it made her feel marginally better.

Had she not needed to keep both eyes on the other hunter she'd have been rolling them. "Since when?" There were plenty of places on a body you didn't hit, but faces had never been on the no-no list. Not in boxing, not in karate, and not in sparring.
She'd have been irritated if she didn't find this whole situation exasperating.
The glancing blow had her jerking back, but she lunged forward again with fist aimed for the other girl's stomach.
"I didn't want to hurt him that bad, but ******** man, he challenged me, and it's not like he was trying to take it easy on me. What am I supposed to do, let him win?" She sounded frustrated.

"Body shots," she retorted. She was nothing if not stubborn. "It ain't like he's tiny," she added pointedly.
She managed to score another glancing blow, but not before taking a punch to the stomach. She felt like some kind of slow, lumbering giant.

"No, he certainly ain't tiny. Should be able to take a few hits from a midget, don'tcha think?" Was it just her, was this fight a little ridiculous.
Another punh landed around Gnat's torso, but it wasn't very hard.
"Dude, if I let you punch me as hard as you want in the face, will you stop being butt hurt over your brother's fight?" She let her hands fall to her sides, pale eyes narrowed, jaw set stubbornly.
<Peyton.. I don't think..>

"No."
She wanted to, but it would sort of destroy her whole reason for being upset in the first place.

You know what, fine! If Gnat didn't feel like letting go a grudge that wasn't really any of her business, then fine. Peyton didn't mind fighting. Oh sure, her ******** knuckles hurt like hell, but after the first couple hits it had become the throbbing, dull sort of ache that was more like background noise. Easily ignored in the moment, but she'd regret it later.
Exasperation was quickly replaced by annoyance, and Peyton brought her hands back up as she came in close again, striking out with first her right hand, then the left. Both stomach shots.
She'd have attempted a face shot, but clearly she'd struck a nerve when she'd scratched her brother's pretty face, and she really didn't feel like making a legit enemy on this island within the first week.

The silence was a relief - she could finally concentrate.
Of course, as soon as she had that thought she took another hit.
She glared, and threw her whole upper body into the next punch - like she was on the pitching mound back home.

And that's when Peyton was knocked clean off her feet and bounced on the ground. Ok, Gnat could throw a good punch, she just hadn't been doing so until now.
Well, Peyton did like a challenge. She rolled back before hopping up onto her feet. It might have been impressive if she wasn't such a runt, but she didn't exactly have a whole bunch of weight to throw around.
That didn't seem to stop her from throwing decent hits herself, and she went right back to invading the hell out of Gnat's personal bubble, left fist coming around to sink into her side for a kidney shot.

Gnat's breath left in a rush of air as Peyton's fist connected with her side, and she felt like time stopped for a second. She backed away, catching her breath.
She could feel Edward's presence pressing in the back of her mind, but she chose to ignore it. Not after last time, with Tuck - she didn't know if she trusted her weapon.
Instead, she just pushed forward with her free arm, trying to force the smaller woman to give her space.

Gnat's breath rushing out was more then a little satisfying for the tiny Sun hunter. A grin had blossomed on pink lips, one that slipped just a little as the other woman shoved her back.
<Come on, Halfpint. We can end this in one.> Warrick was a persistent presence in her head, urging her to unleash his strength like they had on Tuck when she'd split his jaw open. She ignored him, as well as she could, with the buzz of collected FEAR so temptingly accessible. She didn't want to do that to Gnat though. The other Sun was already pissy, and she really didn't want to burn this bridge.
Instead she dug her heel into the dirt, using that to push off from as she aimed her right hand at Gnat's body, arm coming up to hit at the other woman's shoulder. The one connecting to the hand wearing the gauntlet.

Gnat let the other woman's punch push her back. It hurt - but it was better than trying to hold her ground.
She tried another swing, but was off-balance.

A small hop back was enough to keep Gnat's fist from her body, and against she took the opening, charging forward with her one small fist cocked back before throwing it forward into the other Sun hunter's body. She knew it was a solid it, knew it by how much her ******** hand protested as she drove her fist home.
Gnat's shield had to be low, had to, and Peyton really didn't want to get into a whole other issue with her over this, as well as what had happened with Tuck. "******** tap out!"

"Really?!" She didn't even bother blocking Gnat's fist as it connected with her, and instead let the force push her back a step or two. "Seriously, can we call this now? I'm not really in a hurry to repeat what happened yesterday." Kicking a** had been awesome, but she hadn't sought out to do any serious damage, and if Gnat was accurate about the extent of Tuck's injuries then she was beginning to feel like maybe she should go apologize for aiming for his face. Maybe.
She still stood by her defense that he'd started the whole thing, but god damn, this was getting seriously out of hand.
She took another step back, desummoned Warrick, and crossed her arms. Maybe it was opening herself up for an attack, but hopefully it would put an end to all this.

Gnat narrowed her eyes but backed off, crossing her arms.
"Good. It was dumb. Tuck don't know when t'quit, but I can't imagine you was helpin'."
She was covered in sweat, but miraculously uninjured for all of that. The exercise had at least cleared her mind a bit - although it was hard to think past Edward's frustration at not using his charge. She closed her eyes for a moment, as if listening to something far away.
I can help you, for a price.
You can ********' help me kill myself, yeah, she thought back, and he fell silent.
"You're good," she stated finally.
