Sasha lightly sipped from her glass, though she didn't hesitate in refilling his.
"What's on your mind, Jerry?"

"A lot of things," He mumbled, "A lot of depressed things. A lot of... thinking about volunteering for the Sahara, if you know what I mean." He laughed again at that as he moved to sit on the couch and stare deep into his refilled glass.

Sasha folded herself onto the far end of the couch from Jerry, still sipping from her glass. The remainder of the scotch - it was still about a fourth of the way full - was tucked into the couch as well, closer to Jerry than it was to her.
"Why're you depressed?"
Her voice was soft, curious.

He pursed his lips before taking another long sip of his glass and giving a sigh. "I needed a drink, I think, ahahahaha." The warm feeling in his throat and stomach was a welcome familiar comfort. "I um. Went on a date the other day."

Sasha lifted her brows with a curious twist of her lips, allowing herself to enjoy the warm swirl of liquor in her stomach. She took another small sip.
"Oh? And how did that go?"
Stretching out her legs, Sasha toed off her heels before using the tips of her toes to nudge the bottle closer to Jerry.

"Horribly. I mean... no one got hurt but I think it was a pity date, ahahaha... she um. Really wasn't into me." The big plant that tried to eat him might have been, though. He took another deep drink. "I just... I don't know. Everyone seems to happy, you know? They've got... people to rely on. People who love them. They won't die alone. I've got... people who tolerate me." He drained the glass.

Sasha reached over and switched out Jerry's empty glass for hers, refilling his new glass with fresh scotch. She leaned over and set his empty glass on the table before reclining once more on the couch, legs still outstretched, the bottle of scotch nestled between her feet.
"Why do you think it was a date out of pity? You've really got to stop thinking that everyone looks at you and thinks you're ridiculous and worth pitying."
Sasha sank back into the couch with a low, comfortable noise.
"You're a Sun. They should fear you, not pity you - so maybe that's the route you need to take."
She didn't touch on the whole... relationship aspect. That could just get awkward.
"Give them something to be afraid of."

At least the more he consumed, the less he seemed to stammer. "I don't want people to be afraid of me. That's what Roar's always saying, too. That I gotta' ALPHA WOLF if I want respect. I just... I mean. I almost killed Rep that time and he didn't even DO anything, we were just sparring and my head just... went all sorts of bad places and- I don't know. I used to just... feel happy all the time. Maybe not ALL the time, but it was better than NOW. Now it's like... I don't know. There's an angry bear in my stomach that eats up all my happies om nom, you know? I don't." He sipped at the next glass, frowning down. "Honestly, I think I bored her. Maybe I'm lucky that plant tried to eat me."

Sasha stared down at the bottle between her feet, idly rocking it to and fro.
"It's this place."
She shrugged.
"And I agree with Roar. You can't gain respect from people if you aren't willing to command it from them. If people look at you and see a sad, unkempt man, they will pity you. If you carry yourself with authority and care more for the way you project yourself, well."
Sasha smiled, a slow and almost terrible thing.
"It only stands to reason that you'll be perceived differently."

Jerry snorted, "I've tried. People just tell me to shut up." His glass was empty again and he sadly stared down at the bottom. "I just. I want to hit things. With my hands. Roar's got... some satisfaction to him, he's an extensions of me, I feel the explosions, I like the explosions, I really like blowing things up, maybe I should just blow up a building," he babbled, as though that would fill the void in his heart.

Sasha immediately refilled Jerry's glass the instant it was emptied, some of the liquor sloshing over.
"That won't accomplish anything, Jerry, except you being podded or killed."
She reclined once more against the arm of the couch, looking almost as if someone should be standing next to her, feeding her grapes.
"You say you want people to respect you, but you've not got it in you to make them."
Sasha fell silent.
"You don't exactly have... options."

"What do you mean?" He glanced up, swaying a little as he pushed his glasses up his nose. Oh, alcohol, how he missed you. This was nice. Life seemed a little easier to deal with when he had a good drink in him. Always had been that way. But he couldn't, he couldn't, he was being bad, if they knew he was drinking now he'd be in trouble. He had been pushing it at the party but EVERYONE was drinking and nothing BAD happened, really, right? Well, there was the stray bazooka blast, but those things happened.

"I mean that you don't want people to fear you, but you seem reluctant to change the way people look at you."
Sasha quietly topped him off, a slow, slow smile spreading across her lips.

"So... so you're saying... if people fear me... it'll get better?" He slurred, trying to make sense of the advice.

"I'm saying that if people took you seriously, and not as just some manic singing crazy sun, but someone with some purpose, things might change for you."
