Delilah did not react negatively towards his hand pull back but just used hers to move back some loose hair. "I'm sure she will be happy with anything you do. Your mother sounds like a very strong woman. An inspiration to many."
She dropped it for a moment when he turned back to the world of fashion. Smiling, she nodded slowly to his mention of the cameos. "I would like to. To show they aren't just for our grandparents as many of this generation seem to think." Delilah gave a small annoyance look upward as she thought about it. Still, she shook it off with a shrug. "Maybe once you are a big CEO you will wear one of my designs."

Jett laughed again and nodded noncommittally. The fashion industry was a difficult one to break into, but if she was serious about it, who knew? "Well, you'll have to keep in contact and let me know so I can endorse you. Though, no cameos for me, please. I've got nothing against them, personally, I just think that women wear them better."
Not that there was really any question about it; Jett didn't seem like the type to adorn himself with any sort of unnecessary jewelry. He didn't wear necklaces or rings or earrings or bracelets; he wore a simple, professionally stylish getup. There might have been men out there who enjoyed that sort of thing, but he wasn't fond of useless accessories.
Women, though, he wasn't sure how they did it. They could make even the most useless of trinkets seem to have a purpose. Raven, god. He leaned back, unable to resist using her as his mental model. She'd have looked good in anything. Or nothing.
Which was a thought he shouldn’t have been having at work, with a customer in front of him.
He cleared his throat and flashed another smile, trying to distract himself from the thought. He added, "If you ever need inspiration for cameos or anything else, you're welcome to come in and browse. I like the company."

Leaning on the counter, Delilah smirked as he said no cameos. She knew he was avoiding agreeing until he saw what she could do and that was fine. No one would make him CEO over night just on word alone. "Have you tried one on recently? Some men pull them off well. Though I am sure it would be strange with a pin-stripe suit. Maybe more day to day wear though."
With the throat clearing, Delilah had to raise an eyebrow though. His mind had gone elsewhere for a second and she had to wonder the simple question 'where?'
But she wouldn't ask. That was more personal than she wanted to dive into. "Thank you Jett. But you know, you have heard my plans. What are yours to become the most powerful man around?"

Jett did not jump at the idea of decorating himself with cameos; he examined them and sold them, but he had never sat down—seriously or otherwise—and considered buying one. Business was something he would prefer to think about, so the latter question was of far more interest to him.
"I suppose the first thing to do is finish at DCU, get my degree, and then go bully someone into hiring me," he teased. But then, that was what had to happen, wasn't it? He wasn't the sort to sit idly by and pray for someone to pick him for the job; he was the sort who would go in, let them know what he wanted, and take it. He was certain that he was qualified, skilled and competent, and knew that he could do anything he set his mind to.
Except, maybe, sell a cameo to this girl.
"I like antiquing, though. Maybe I'll start my own business and find some way to commercialize it. I suppose it depends on what I get myself into in the next few years."

"And we all know how much trouble can happen in a few years. Especially in college" Delilah smiled as she glanced back at the box that he had called her for. Suddenly a smile crossed over her face and she reached into her bag for her phone.
Though she was looking at her screen, the girl spoke"You know, something just dawned on me. Have you ever come across a piece like this?" Flipping the phone around, she flashed him the front image of a blue stoned cameo with a girl holding a bird. "It's one of the few that the bird doesn't look like it's about to eat you." Delila smiled as she put the phone down on the counter.

Jett leaned close to get a good look at he cameo in the picture. He pursed his lips thoughtfully, racking his brain to try and remember. The piece didn't look unfamiliar to him, but neither did it look like something he immediately recognized. "I can't say that I have," he admitted after a few seconds of picking his brain.
"I've seen some that look similar but, no, I don't think I've ever seen a piece exactly like this. It's interesting looking. Is it a piece you happen to be looking for?" he asked. He didn't reach to touch her phone, just tilted his head as he continued to analyze it, stroking his chin thoughtfully.

"It is. I stumbled across it not long ago and it has become the item I am looking for. Most people seemed to have made their birds look demonic." Delilah commented before she turned the screen back to face her and smiled down at the piece. "Or the figure appear in morning. Something about this one though seems more peaceful."
Looking up at him, Delilah watched his face. "Seen something like it? Can't remember where?" She asked with a smile. He was back in his element again.

Jett nodded; he had seen variations of many pieces, but he could see why this one stood out to Delilah. For a brief moment, he chewed on the inside of his cheek, racking his brain for any additional information he could give her. He turned away from a brief moment, accessing the computer to his side. He needed only a few seconds to search for an item. He clicked on it, and as he waited for the page to load asked, "What's your comfort range in price for something like it?"
He was still working, and getting to know the client was just part of the job.
When the image loaded, it was of a decently similar piece; it was rich in color and seemed like it had been stored in someone's jewelry box rather than worn. There were notable differences; the bird and hair were the most prominent, though the cameo still seemed to depict a pleasant scene. Jett angled the screen so it was facing her and moved aside to give her a clearer view.

"I guess it depends on the condition as well as what the cameo is used for. If it is a separate piece, I would be willing to go more than if it was like part of a bracelet or something." Delilah answered honestly but also avoided a direct number. She had a comfort zone but at the same time, she did not 100% trust him not to go for the top end of it. Jett had already talked about becoming a powerful business man after all.
When he turned the screen, Delilah leaned forward and placed her elbow on the counter and her chin in her hand. "That's close. Real close. My only concern is more the bird than anything. Doesn't it seem more hawk like than dove?" She motioned with her other hand to the neck and head.

"The bird does look a little fiercer," he agreed, though he himself didn't see a problem with that. Birds of prey would always seemed more impressive to him, but he wasn't much a fan of delicate things. "But, it's the closest thing I've seen. I'll keep my eyes out for something like that with a little less hawk, little more dove, though. Do you want me to shoot you an email if we get something like that in?"
Cameos—especially the pretty ones—never seemed to last for long, but since she'd mentioned a special interest, he figured he could get away with holding it for her. At least if it meant finally having an excuse to ensure she bought something.

Delilah smiled and gave a nod. "If you do, please contact me. That way I am not coming in every other week and gracing you with my presence without at least one sale."
"But my, I must be off. Sorry to have kept you so long."

Jett blinked and then flashed a smile. "Oh, it's no problem. It's been a pleasure. Sale or not, please feel free to drop by whenever you like. I'll see you around, take care," he said, raising a hand to wave.
Of course he'd be disappointed without a sale, but it wasn't the end of the world. Sometimes this place got boring; it was nice to have someone to talk to.
Besides—he was getting paid either way, what did he care?
Sirene Naiads I am so sorry about the delay! We can call this fin if you like!
