As the race continued Aella would be able to see what the Yanma was really capable of, looping out of a dive into a vertical ascent to keep his momentum, zipping over a slop and flying close to the clouds...and more importantly his greatest advantage. Something that only his kind could do, and Aella nor any bird could ever hope to imitate. Flying horizontally to the left and right. Like a helicopter the Yanma could travel in any direction he pleased while still moving forward, something which allowed him to catch the last two rings perfectly and well ahead of his competition.
When the red skinned insect flew past the finish like, zipping and looping through the air with all the vigour of a pre-schooler, it was clear who the winner was. Though as if to rub it in, the clouds would reform behind the Yanma, marking his score before transforming into a visible #1. Grinning as much as his mandibles would allow, the Yanma gave girl and Emolga a wink and something akin to a 'thumbs up' gesture before speeding off and away. The winner couldn't be more clear.
Aella would see the pokemon vanish as the final score came up and Aella would literally scream out in her own frustration.
(DARN IT!)
She would drop from the sky as she landed straight on Victoria with the accuracy of a homing pigeon as she would twist once on her outstretched arm and then land on her shoulders as she sat there breathing heavily. She was upset as tears formed in her eyes. She hated to lose ...she hated to lose in a match of the air. This was a match she should have easily won considering ...she always claim no one could beat her in the air ...even birds.
So, when Victoria spoke to her it would surprise her a bit.
"Amazing isn't he?"
Victoria would tell her partner as the pokemon huffs a bit ...as her tail wrapped around her arms.
(Humph ..that bug is good.)
"But, you were amazing too."
Victoria would touch her on the head.
"Great job, for your first try ...you were magnificent. You will get him next time."
She would laugh lightly at her partner ...Aella would puff out her chest as she declares sharply.
(Damn right ...next time)
Victoria would smile at her partner as they continued onwards.
Continuing onward would bring about a strange sight for the pair. While they had once been amidst clear skies and puffy white clouds, they'd now find themselves surrounded entirely by a thick dark storm. Thunder crashed and lighting flashed, yet the cloud itself didn't seem natural; even for this particularly unnatural place. The insides wisped like energy from Dark-Type's...and the inhabitant wasn't something Victoria would be fond of seeing.
">Nien. Nien. Nicht. No<" A low, gruff voice repeated in monotonous fashion, like someone picking threw a list of collectibles and not finding it. Passing around a cloudy 'bend' in the path, child and Pokemon would find themselves with a rather odd sight. Surrounding the inside of the storm was a number ethereal black balls of mist, and slowly sorting through them, taking a bite of each as if testing the flavour of an apple, was a particularly grouchy looking Haunter. ">Nien. Not this one either...<" He grumbled, tossing one of the misty shadows to the side ">Not here I am thinking. Will be next time maybe<" The Haunter said, clearly speaking to himself as he tapped a claw on a half eaten ball of haze.
It was then he would turn, eyes narrowing as he barked gruffly ">Hey! You! You no belonging 'ere!<" An accusing claw pointed at Victoria. Well of course human's weren't supposed to be wandering around such a place. The Hypno had spoken of them as something of a rarity. Suddenly the Haunter's eyes would brighten ">Ah! Nightmare you must being! Finally come to face Gustav fair un square, yes?<" The Ghost declared, sounding surprisingly cheerful for what was normally the cause for unspeakable terror ">I warn though. Gustav the Dream Eater no pull his punches. Not even for tiny girl!<"
It would seem that their happy moment would be destroyed in just an instant. As the darkness came in a row, and before them would soon be a haunter ...as Aella's fur would spark with electricity. THe pokemon seemed to be sampling ...haze? Or was that different clouds, she had no clue what to say about it ....as it would eventually come to an end.
"I am not a nightmare..."
Victoria would tell him ...even as she would release her own friend upon the field. The cloud would appear underneath his feet as the Nidorino would glare dangerously at his new opponent. Though she would stand her ground just as well ...as she level a glare at him.
"Though, I have been getting kind of rusty, so if you want a battle ...I won't run away from it."
The girl would say with a bit of a chuckle in her voice.
Animus Nidorino [M] Lv 6 Nature: Adamant Stats: HP: 25/25/PP:21/ATK:16/DEF:13/SPD:14/SP-ATK:11/SP-DEF:13 MOVES: - Leer - Peck - Take Down- Sludge Bomb Held item: Poison barb EXP: 107/500 Bio Victoria caught this pokemon after killing his mate in the Chrono Cavern. His evolution is a side affect of his hatred of her and his wish for revenge. She couldn't turn down a pokemon that resonates so deeply with her own personality. The only problem she has now is actually taming this pokemon or at the very least getting him to work for her purpose. His pokeball has cracks and scratches in it, a hint of their very brittle bond.

The Haunter's response would be to chuckle back, as if hearing the oddest thing from a small child ">Silly girl, of course Nightmare no say it being Nightmare. Nightmare are sneaky like this, yes?<" Gustav said clearly, albeit it in something of an odd accent ">That why Gustav pummel you good into floor, then eat dream. Nightmare only dream of nasty, terrible things. Why is Nightmare<" The Haunter would explain, as if it were the most common fact in the world.
When Animus was released, the Ghost-Type would look on with interest ">Oh, Nightmare take on many forms. Good, this be making things more of the interest<" From there the Haunter would smirk, cracking his ghostly knuckles before floating forward slowly ">Now then little Nightmare, look into Gustav's eyes and see...eternity.<" The Haunter's eyes would then slit further then normal, taking on an icy blue glow. Those orbs would stare directly into those of Animus, able to stare unblinking forever, and drawing those whom dare look back in to their infinite depths. Hypnosis, an old favourite of any Ghost-Type...especially in this world.
Animus's eyes would get big ....as he looked into the eyes of the one he never should stare at. Those eyes that held a depth that threaten to trap him as Victoria would realize what was happening, and would shout at him.
"Don't go to sleep!"
Though it would be a futile attempt, she would still yell it. She would still hope to wake him up ...to keep him awake ...as the darkness would swirl around his mind and his body would go heavy with the sleep that threaten to drown him.

Gustav's eyes would shimmer with delight, snapping his fingers as if to complete the 'spell' he held on the Nidorino's mind. The sound would seem to echo, and in that same instant the Poison-Type would pass into the abyss of slumber. Thick, slobbering tongue pushing passed his teeth, the Haunter would lick his lips in something of an exaggerated manner ">Now then, tell old Gustav...of what do you dream?<" The Ghost-Type questioned, drifting closer to his quarry. Slowly a small cloud would appear above the Nidorino's head, displaying images as if it were a television screen; and as it did Gustav would take it in his spectral hands as if he were holding a burger, and take a large bite. Dream Eater...a particularly useful move, more so in the world of dreams itself!
The dream would make anyone blush ....for of all the things to dream of ...it would be of his beloved. She would be shaking her hips in a way that say what was going to happen next, and the Nidorino would be drifting towards him almost dancing.
It would have been embarrassing if he wasn't sleeping ...and Victoria felt a bit of embarrassment for him.
Though as the creature started to try and take his dream in his mouth.
Victoria would shout out.
"WAKE UP!"
Those big ears had to be good for something ..afterall.
Victoria's words would fall on deaf ears, and in the meanwhile Gustav would be stuffing his face with her Nidorino's dreams. Spectral claws would dig in and rip pieces from the cloud, shoving them into the Haunter's waiting maw as he devoured the dream. ">Sweet...<" Gustav muttered between mouthfuls ">...savoury, bit hot too. Dream of love...and other not for children things<" The Haunter concluded, not even needed to watch the dream nor know the history of Animus to understand it. He had devoured many dreams in his unlife, and every bore a meaning. ">No nightmare. They bitter and salty<" The Haunter declared, shaking his head lightly, oblivious to the fact the source of his meal had ceased moving...ceased breath. Animus had walked straight up to death's door once more; but luckily death was one of two things none could experience in the dream. When one died in slumber they merely awoke; and so it was that the Nidorino's body would begin to vanish right before Victoria. He would be fine, memories of this place only fleeting, but Victoria would find herself unable to call upon him for the rest of the event. Perhaps using a Poison-Type had been a mistake in this case.
Still seemingly oblivious to the state of his former foe, the Haunter would begin picking his teeth with a claw ">He no Nightmare. Mean you no Nightmare<" He stated plainly, then nodded ">Gustav need find King. Keep looking<" Now he was talking more to himself then her ">Bye bye Gustav being.<" With that rather peculiar goodbye, the Haunter would vanish into the clouds, obviously in search of his chosen prey.
Victoria's tried to wake him, but it failed. He was devour and as his dream went ...so did Animus. The girl had missed what had happen, she didn't realize that he had been killed in the dream ...instead from her point of view ...the Haunter had literally eaten him.
Don't nightmares devour dreams?
The thought made the girl twitch with anger.
"Animus ....give him back."
She would scream even as the ghost vanish. Aella sitting on her shoulder was stun ...she hadn't expected this, but then again, neither had Victoria. The girl had tears in her eyes, as she would stomp forward.
This was unacceptable. She was going to find that ghost and make him give back her partner ...as she would rush into the clouds this time ...after him.
(Well, that failed miserably. I shall have to try again.)
It was not however a Haunter which she would encounter once breaking free of the clouds. Instead she would spot something else of a much brighter purple. Diving and swooping, swirling and spinning, it was a Gligar of an unusual sort flitting this way and that. ">Da da da da da DA!<" She sung in a somewhat heroic fashion ">Ppp----GGggilar POWER!<"
Victoria would declare as she burst free of the clouds to see a Gligar dancing in the air. Though the pokemon she was searching for was no where in sight, and she wasn't willing to let that go.
She would slow down a bit ...as she release her next pokemon upon the field. The pokemon's tail would flick ....as Solo appeared from the pokeball in a splash of light.
All four paws would be in the air for a moment as the cloud would appear underneath him. The Eevee would flick one earring pierce ear as she looks backwards at Victoria for only moment before he looks forward again.
(what is going on here?)
He would ask as he looks at the Gligar playing in the air.
"We need information, and I want you to get it."
Victoria would declare evilly.
"Otherwise, I will evolve you into something cute ...like a Glaceon."
She would say that last bit dripping with a deadly threat as Solo looked at her as though she might call thunder from the sky and strike him. His fur standing on end.
He was just getting use to the idea of looking like a Marine, but ....and his mind when to the cutest looking evolution for his kind known and he shivers.
It was a threat worth worrying about.
(I just thought about something, can you imagine Solo as a Sylveon?)
((I think he would rather gnaw his own foot off. Eat it. Barf it up. Eat it again; and then choke on it. Though that does make me think of how his image might changed based on evolution. Flareon he'd go from Punk to Glam. Umbreon would be either Emo or Goth Rock. Vaporeon would be a Marine. Jolteon he'd still be a Punk Rocker. I'm not sure bout the others.))
">Hey! What's that sound!<" The Gligar would suddenly shout, dropping out of the air and disappearing into a cloud. ">Who's that man?<" She asked, her head suddenly popping out from the clouds nearest Solo ">Where's he been?<" She asked, suddenly she was above him, head upside down and staring into his eyes ">Why's he here?<" Now Victoria would be getting the image of the Gligar's close-up sideways. When she disappeared again she'd be back at the clouds, tail and legs grasped in her claws as she bounced around ">Boingy, boingy, boingy!<"
((Sylveon would CLEARLY be a cross-dressing popstar!))
The Gligar would simply look at the girl and give the most adorable sad face a Gligar could make...then she would spot a butterfly shaped cloud and bounce off towards it.
