"I see... I hope for your sake that she gets to feeling better." Those with parents, parents that were good to them at least, deserved to keep those people in their lives. It would be shame for people who were actually kind to their younglings to be the ones to get sick and die while pricks like his father got to live on. Something that he would be certain to remedy one day, even if Yaholo had been so concerned over him doing just that. He couldn't allow the opinion of one person to get to him when he knew damn well what his father deserved. That was his parent though, the sick mother of this little girl, she deserved better, "I hope that she gets better for you soon." She said that she was unable to even go home because of the illness, it was a sad thing really, that she had a mother who cared about her and she didn't even get to see her.

Turning to her slowly when she mentioned a brother he asked, "What is your brother like?" He asked in a curious manner, wondering if perhaps she would feel better if she had her brother with her during the trying times with her sick mother. Not that he could promise that he could find him or anything of the like, not sure if he even wanted to get involved enough to try, but maybe he could at least distracted her? Get her talking about her brother instead of about her sick mother? After a moment though he blinked, something in his mind seeming to click, before he asked, "Wait... aren't your people supposed to be all girls?" Maybe the brother was adopted?

"Me too..." Tahigwa nodded, her eyes going off into the distance for a moment. It was difficult to live away from her mother, they were very similar to one another. Both hated being stuck in one place for too long, both enjoyed running freely in the forests, and both slept in the same bed, at the same food, and laughed at the same jokes. To be so far from her, and so close to her, was unsettling for Tahigwa. Sometimes she would cry about it, but only to her elder sister Nessie or when Nyah would ask for stories about her in the middle of the night. She would trade all her freedom for her mother's health, but she was convinced that it would make her mother very sad to see her act different just to save her life. After all, she did give Tahigwa her love of adventure and causing trouble, wouldn't it make her sad to see her daughter change just because of her?

Tahigwa's expression perked up when he asked about her brother. "Yaholo is the best brother, EVER!" She cried, grinning from ear to ear. "My mother fell in love with his father, but got attacked before she could go get my brother from Aisha, so they never got married and Yaholo got lost!" She giggled and rolled her eyes. "Actually, Yaholo was thrown away by another settlement before my mother could pick him up. Neither of us talk to them anymore because of that. But..." She paused, glancing back and forth in a cautious manner, before laughing. "I found him when he was walking through here one day! I told my mother, too, but she was too tired to hear me."

As the girl suddenly announced that Yaholo was the best brother ever Oulixes gave a visible jump, turning to stare at her, eyes rather wide, "You are related to Yaholo?" That was the strangest of coincidences if you asked him, the fact that not all that long after leaving the side of the halfbreed and journeying into Jauhar that he would stumble across someone that was related to him. After a moment though her story took a turn that made zero sense to him and he finally ad to ask, "Get him from Aisha? Is that your medicine woman or something?" Why wouldn't the woman bring Yaholo to his mother? Seemed kind of lazy on her part... or was it because she was hurt in that attack so she couldn't care for him yet? It was all quite confusing.

"He told me how he got lost and ended up with the Leaf Tribe, seems lucky enough on his part given the circumstances." He mused, wondering how such a thing could be allowed to have happened. This tribe of Alkidike needed to get their acts together he thought to himself crossly, "Well, if you catch him again I'd suggest you drag him home by his antennae and make sure he meets with your mother. Not ever has a mother and if they do they should at least talk with them from time to time." He told her, sure that Yaholo would probably want to meet with his mother even if he was happy with the family he had now. He probably shouldn't be interfering, nor should he suggest dragging people around by their antennae, but it just seemed silly to him.

Tahigwa cocked her head to the side, intrigued. "Yeah, do you know him or something?" She asked. It would be a small world if she had met a friend of his brother's wandering around out here! Hell, she was jealous that he brother had met someone so interesting and hadn't shared that information with her! Knowing him, he probably fell asleep before he could and forgot all about it, her brother could be so dumb sometimes.

Then he questioned about Aisha and she began to laugh, shaking her head feverishly. "No, no!" She exclaimed. "I don't know everything about her just yet, I'm just a kid, but I know that she is the tree that makes the lotus flowers where all of the Alkidikes are born from!" She paused, scratching her chin. 'My mom said that Aisha lives on an island way past here and you can only get there by boat. So, when my mom was injured, she couldn't travel. That's why Yaholo got lost in the first place." Then she shrugged her shoulders and made a bit of a bitter face. "If you ask me, they should move her somewhere close so no more babies get lost. But noooo, I'm just a kiiiid, I can't make any important decisiiooons!"

"SO WAAAIT." She exclaimed, her eyes shooting open like bullets. "He told you all about himself already?!" She pouted, crossing her arms again. This guy must be her brother's best friend or something! How could Yaholo not say anything about him?! Siblings shared everything, it's just how it went! She heaved a sigh and nodded. "He should be visiting me today! I was supposed to be looking for him when you walked by, not that I don't mind that you did!" She grinned. "You're really cool, and if my brother is a friend of yours, that makes you even cooler!"

"Alkidike are born from a magic flowering tree?" He asked, pretty sure now that this kid was screwing with him completely. As if anyone would actually believe that something like that was possible. The mention of there being an island way passed here though, that did interest him, he wondered if it was somewhere he would be able to go to hide. Given what Yaholo said about the Alkidike and that one should only approach the friendly ones he found himself highly doubting it. Not to mention that if there was actually a 'magic baby giving tree' that they wouldn't let someone as dirty as him near it. Bah, no matter. There were enough places for him to get lost in this forest that it was more then enough for him right now. It was just a shame that there was a place out there further off the Jauhar and that he couldn't go there.

As the girl set to explaining to him about how things worked, how Yaholo had gotten himself lost, and that she thought Aisha should move closer to keep it from happening again he nodded in agreement, "Might be a good idea, would save some people a lot of grief." He didn't care for the idea that the other halfbreed had gone through such a thing just because Aisha was far away and couldn't properly deliver children. Not that he should really send a lot of negative feelings toward what may or may not be a tree... it just seemed silly, to be angry at a tree of all things.

"Huh? Yeah, it was kind of a trade off. He told me stuff about him and I told him some about me." He said, wondering if maybe he'd said to much given as cross as the girl was looking all of a sudden. Oops... ah well, it would be Yaholo that got the brunt of her miniaturized fury, not him, so he didn't mind. When she mentioned that Yaholo would be visiting her today he looked around a moment then gave her a smile and a nod, "I should let you get back to finding him then." He didn't want to keep her after all, "You be sure to take care of him though, he seems a little soft unlike the two of us." He told the girl, who seemed far more with it and a lot tougher then Yaholo who squealed over the slightest flick to his antennae.

"That's what I heard!" Tahigwa nodded. "I crawled out of a lotus when I was born, I remember that. My mother was so happy to see me, I think she cried a little, too." Most Younglings couldn't remember the day they were born like Tahigwa could. She could recall all the faces, the couples, even the names of the Younglings born before her and after her. Her favorite part was being carried back home in her mother's arms. The smell of her hair, the feel of her skin, everything about her felt safe and warm. Every now and then, she would think back to this memory and find herself longing for her mother's arms, especially if she were lonely.

Ooo, so maybe her brother had just met this guy and he was coming to talk to her about him today! This made her relax and drop her arms back to her sides. Well, she would have to ask Yaholo for more information, then! She smiled and shrugged her shoulders. "He's bound to come through here, actually." She said. "But if you want to go, you can, I guess."

She crawled out of a lotus when she was born? It made him all that much more curious about the Alkidike really, especially since they were supposed to be all women save for the occasional male that was born when an outside tribe met with one of their kind. It all seemed quite strange to him but at the same time he couldn't help but to be fascinated, not that he said as much out loud. He just found himself wanting to talk to more of them, learn more about them, but he doubted that they would really wanted to meet with someone like him. If they were as standoffish as he'd heard surely they wouldn't meet with a stranger when they wouldn't even meet with Yaholo and he was half what they were.

"I think I should get going, a meeting between the two of you should be between the two of you. You don't need me being here as an add on." He told her, finding her to be too sweet, telling him that Yaholo would be coming through here. It was nice of her to offer such an invitation but he would be on his way instead, allow the siblings to enjoy their time together instead of worrying about accommodating him, "It was nice to meet with you though, lucky too, to meet Yaholo's little sister. It seems that maybe my luck is looking up some." It was something that he rather liked the sound of. Maybe coming to this forest had been the right call indeed. Leaning over he reached a hand out to her, patting her on the shoulder, "Tell your brother that I said 'hello' and 'thank you' his advice so far has been paying off."

Taking a couple steps back he looked around, trying to recall where it was he was heading before he'd gotten himself so distracted by the little Alkidike girl. Oh, yes! He remembered now. He turned toward the path that he had been trekking down, starting toward it, "It was good talking with you, let's meet again sometime." Something he said often but really he was afraid to meet with others a second time, as though he didn't want to get too attached to people, not wanting them to come to see him for what he really was. Instead he just wanted them to recall him as a passing stranger and hopefully one that they liked.

Aw, he had to go! Tahigwa's mouth formed half a pout as Oulixes turned to walk towards where he was heading before. She didn't really want him to go, seeing as how awesome he was, and let out a soft sigh. "Bye, mister! Take care!" She called, her voice sounding slightly sad. Why did she always have to find interesting people while they were on their way to someone important? It was like a curse! She took a step towards the tree she had hopped down from and turned to watch him walk away, finding herself wishing he'd stay until Yaholo showed up. Maybe she was a little lonely out here, maybe she was just bored, she didn't really know.

Again, she sighed and turned to climb back up into the trees again. She did her best thinking there, it was like her sanctuary. She scaled all the way up to the top of the tree and peered out, scanning the ground again. Passively, or not, she watched as Oulixes wandered down the path and vanished through the foliage. "I hope you come back to visit, soon..." She mumbled. "You were really, really interesting..."
