She watched Niabi with great interest. She had been under the impression that the sisterhood shared between the Alkidikes was a very strong and loving bound, even if they were warriors. And from meeting Dyakida and Briella that image of them being close was strengthen, however the vibe she was getting off of Niabi was anything but that. However there was a chance that Zuri was making this all up in her head, then again she had always been good at picking up the emotions of those around her. Her father had told her it was a gift she had since she was a youngling.
Zuri smiled at the other girl. The way that her antennae moved was very interesting, she hadn't really payed much attention to them before but now that she was she realized they also gave away the girls emotions. "I had met them many times since I was little. Back home my father was on the council, so he dealt with making sure we had everything that we could possibly need in the village. So I grew up around them, plus my father trusted him and he was a good judge of character." she nodded.
"I don't advise leaving with strangers. You should at least know someone before you leave with them. Also tell someone else where you will be going and how long you plan to be there, just in case." she said kindly, hoping that was not what the other girl thought. She wouldn't want the younger girl to go traveling with strangers and something happen to her! Zuri would feel just horrible if that happened. She didn't want to scare her from traveling either, she just wanted her to be safe.

Niabi sighed with relief at Zuri's answer. So she didn't leave with strangers. She had thought as much, but then again, she knew nothing of the girl in front of her, so who knew? Niabi lifted her hand to play with her hair again. It was definitely a bad habit of hers and something that her mothers didn't approve of, but she did it when she was nervous and she always seemed to be nervous. If it didn't hurt so bad, she would probably play with her antennae as well.
She nodded her head at Zuri's advice. Niabi didn't even think she had it in her to leave with strangers. Though she wasn't so sure about telling anyone about it. She couldn't imagine her mothers willingly letting her go out with Yaholo, who at this point in time... was about her only friend.
This whole meeting right now was because she took off without telling anyone.
She did what she could to steer the conversation in a different direction, maybe learn a little more about the woman in front of her. "So... d-do you... I mean... what do you d-do, Zuri? Do you... fight?" The question intrigued her, and had her antennae twitching again. She knew that all Alkidike were to become warriors, but earthlings had so many options.

She watched the younger girl, she was nervous but there was something brewing in her. Hopefully Zuri had steered her in the right direction.
When Niabi asked what she did Zuri smiled. This was a change of topic, but not one that was unwelcome. "Well right now my title is lancer, however I hope to one day get the rank of rider. There I would help protect others with my spear from atop a mount. I've always liked to ride, and that way it would be easier for me to travel and protect more people then if I didn't have a mount to help me get from place to place. So I guess yes, in a way I fight. But I would only fight in defense of another." she looked over at Belle with a smile.
"To get the rank of lancer I had to fight. A shifter tired to kill Belle, he wanted her fur, but I couldn't let it happen. She is my companion, and a small piece of home for me. I didn't kill him, but it was a pretty bloody fight before others stepped in and took him away. Turns out he was wanted for murder." she said with a nod. She wanted to ask Niabi what she would have picked if she could, but she knew that that would be a touchy subject.
"Alkidikes use spears as well, right? The one I met had blades, but I have heard that some are very skilled with spears as well." she asked curiously.

Niabi was almost a little disappointed that Zuri fought. Though by the way she was talking even from the beginning Niabi could tell that's what she did. It was an interesting story though, and one that brought up many questions. She thought about the title of rider. Of being able to utilize the animals around them to go from place to place and to... even though she still didn't like the idea... to use in battle. "Do you... do you have an i-idea of what animal you would use?" She hoped she wasn't being out of line, but it was a curious question indeed. Niabi only knew of radaku and kinfa really, but she had heard that there were others, and from the same place Zuri was from.
She thought to her other sisters and how most of them actually preferred the spear. She didn't know if it was just her village, or if it were actually most Alkidike that did though. "Yes, alkidike use s-spears, and some choose to use dual blades, t-that's for sure." Niabi, even though she didn't want to fight, she knew exactly what weapon she would be taking. It made her feel the least hesitant and though she had never used it on another, she was good at it. "Some choose to u-use the bow though... I'm going to use... a bow." She could almost smack herself in the face she was so inept in conversation. How rude of her. "I'm s-sorry, I didn't even ask. D-do you use a spear? I k-know earthlings have o-other options." Her face was starting to turn red from the effort to backtrack and not be rude.

Zuri frowned slightly and shook her head. "Honestly I'm not sure yet. There are animals back in Zena that I could use, as well as ones here, but I haven't really felt a pull towards any of them. Hopefully by the time I get my rank I will find whatever animal fits me best." she said with a nod and a smile returned to her face.
A bow? Yes, if Niabi had to use a weapon that was the weapon she saw the other girl using. Then she could attack from afar and not have to be too close to the other. "I could see you with a bow, I think they are more elegant then the other two choices." she said with a nod. When Niabi asked if she used a spear she nodded. "Yes, I use a spear. I was leaning towards a trident on the way here, but I find a spear much more practical for me."

Niabi smiled at Zuri. So she looked like the kind of person to use a bow. That was a relief. Or so she thought. It was true, the only way she could really face anyone else was with not having to get so close to them.
She listened to Zuri's response with thought. She'd never actually been near enough to a trident to know exactly what the perks of it would be. It seemed like such an odd weapon choice. She kept her thoughts to herself though, she was the last person to be able make any comments about weapons. "That's an i-interesting switch."
She leaned her head, listening to the sounds from the nearby village. It sounded like training was getting out. Her sisters were loud and rowdy and would notice that she was gone soon. She needed to get back. "It seems like I h-have to go. My sisters will be looking for me soon." She stood from her spot near the river, sadly taking her feet out of the refreshing waters. "It was n-nice meeting you Zuri. P-perhaps we'll m-meet again."

Zuri nodded. Yes, although the trident and the spear were similar, they were also very different. She was happy with her choice of weapon.
When Niabi she realized that it was time for them to part. That was good, she had to get on with things in her day anyways. She only hoped that this encounter with the younger woman would get her thinking and maybe help her figure out more about herself.
"It was nice meeting you as well Niabi. I'm sure we will meet again, and I look forward to seeing you again." although Zuri was the hugging type, she we pretty sure that Niabi wasn't. They were on better terms then they were when they first met, but she had a feeling they weren't that close yet.
"Come on Belle, let's start heading home, more time has passed then I planned." she called the roati with a smile. She waved once at Niabi before disappearing into the forest.
