☆x Though everyone else seemed absurdly quiet, Finnian saw that at least some people were responding to the advice of what should be a well known superhero! He was smiling widely at the dark haired youth who had pointed him out first with certainly exciting whispering, for what other emotion would be associated with one who spotted such an infamous superhero as Super Kuiper?! He was just striking a pose as he squinted his eyes to utilize his super vision and gauge what female had recognized him – perhaps the captain of his soon-to-be-real fan club?! Or an aspiring reporter or – even better – an aspiring Super Lass! ...Or it could be Usagi Yoshiko, attractive woman he may or may not have been watching for several years. Not that that was creepy. Finnian had a handful of slow days here and there and the tree beside the flower shop was a good spot to watch for criminals! Just like the tree beside her home was!
Justification aside, Finnian cleared his throat and made sure not to lose any of his SUPER confidence while talking to the girl who had approached him – why had Mitsukai approached him? He did his best not to appear confused when he recognized the blonde or nearly as awkward as it felt to be talking to someone he had unintentionally been 'stalking' without her knowledge. He forced his perfectly dashing grin on his face and began to motion towards the cup game he was handling, but ever talkative Mitsukai had already began to speak before he could start his sales pitch! Not that he minded.
“Really?” Even he couldn't glorify his tone there – he sounded almost like a schoolgirl! He rubbed his throat and repeated in a deeper, more masculine voice befitting of a super hero, “Really? Ohohoho!” Damn it, Finnian, that was a villainous laugh, not a heroic one! He tried it again as he pulled lightly at the collar of his super suit, “Well, I, SUPER KUIPER, would love to greet a fan,” Except not this one because he wasn't sure he could keep his cool if he was feeling this nervous in front of just her sister. “..except I have a duty to maintain this wonderful CUP KNOCK OVER game, as you can see! Perhaps you would enjoy to give a mighty throw at the mysteriously sturdy cups to win..!” He went behind the stand and took out an oversized photograph of the one and only Super Kuiper, “A photograph of me, signed by yours truly!”x☆

No. No no no no no no no. Of all the things her sister could do to occupy her time, why would she choose this? If she really wanted to talk to the super awesome super hero guy she could go over there herself. Okay, no she wouldn't but that was beside the point! She glanced over at her sister who had motioned for her to come over. Oh, but she couldn't leave her stand! She shook her head, having found an excuse. Oh, but Mitsukai wouldn't give up because of something like that, would she? Why couldn't she have a sister who'd just let her admire super heroes from afar instead of insisting on introductions? All she had wanted was to have a nice quiet day making flower crowns at the school festival. Or you know, having all the kids avoid her stand so she wouldn't have to disappoint them with her awful crown making. Yeah, that would be preferable. --------------------
Wow this guy was weird, no wonder Usagi thought he was cool. Still, he wasn't being very cooperative. "Let's be honest, it's not like your cup knock over game is getting many players," Hey, it was the truth! Everything had seemed strangely quiet. "Besides, you only have to go over there for a minute. Or I can just bring her over here and she can help you out with your nifty little stand." C'mon Super Kuiper, just agree! It wasn't like Mitsukai couldn't handle the flower stand on her own. Making flower crowns was easy enough! Plus, she was way more fun than her sister was, the kids would love her! She looked over the cup knock over game that was set up in front of her, "If I play your game, will you go say hi?" she asked. That was a fair trade, right? Plus, this game did look kind of fun! Not only that but her sister needed more friends, dangit! It was for a good cause! Super heroes were all about good causes, he had to agree!

☆x ...Yeah, Finnian could definitely see the makings of a villain in this one. How sad it was that such a pure and innocent woman as Usagi would have to deal with the evilness of her very sister! If Usagi ever joined his superhero crew, he already had the beginnings of a perfect backstory for her character with just this conversation. But, that would be much later and, besides, he viewed Usagi in more secondary roles of his superheroic life! He had at least two superhero characters so far, he didn't need to go overboard yet. In the mean time, he had a blonde villainess to speak to. “AHAHAHA, what are you implying, seemingly innocent lass? That I, Super Kuiper, can not attract his multitude of fans to play a simple test of strength and control? Surely, you jest!”
He went on to laugh and laugh and.. and then stop laughing because she was actually right. No one had even glanced at his stand! What was wrong with these children?! He set the photograph down and placed a hand on the stand to lean on, “Alright. If you can use your non-heroic arms to knock over my Super cups, then I will go greet your sister.” Yeah, good luck! Finnian saw evil in her, but she was probably just going to be one of those dime-a-dozen villains that used weaponry Super Kuiper could thwart! Like cardboard swords or something.x☆

What had she gotten herself into? This man was even stranger than she thought. Oh, but the cup knock over game was calling her name! Also, it was for her sister! "Alright, I accept your challenge!" Yes. She would knock over his super cups, and get him to greet her sister. Hopefully there were better prizes than that silly picture though, whatever, she'd just pass it over to Usagi! "So I just throw this ball at the little cups, right?" she wanted to make sure. She couldn't win if she didn't know the rules! Anyway, that seemed easy enough. Her throw wasn't the best, but it was relatively average. Plus, this was a game for kids which meant it should be easy! She so had this!
She picked up the ball and studied the cups. She had to make sure she took everything in and knew just where to aim. She could do this, she would do this. After taking her time and refining her aim she finally through the ball. Did she make it? Did she?
((I guess I'll just do a dice roll to make it fair? I really don't know how to determine if she made it or not.))

☆x Finnian had stepped back with a wide, wide grin – yes! He had gotten one individual to play his game! He bet the other loudmouthed civilian hadn't even gotten one person to try their cheap game! The prizes certainly couldn't compare to what he had, even if they were also pictures of famous superheroes signed for – ah.. ah, what if they were? What if she had Superman's genuine photo-signed-by-him?! He looked away in worry for a second to make sure that there were only more crudely made stuffed animals as prizes in the other booths. He couldn't exactly tell from where he was standing, but it mattered not as he heard the crash and boom of several plastic cups being thrown all over the ground, the ball slamming into the stand behind him and shaking it as if it had been thrown by one blessed by SUPER STRENGTH. Or it could be that the stand had been made in one night, which meant it lacked any of the quality that a professional cup-knock-over stand had. Either way, Finnian gave a Super Whoop at the sight, jumping excitedly as he grabbed one blown up photograph of SUPER KUIPER to hand to the lady – and a less awesome Styrofoam stuffed squirrel doll, which was the actual prize the school had issued him. “WINNER! Congratulations, lass! You are our first winner! I will go speak to your sister as requested, provided you manage the cup knock over game during.. which.”
Oh.. He swallowed slightly as he saluted the woman for her victory before turning to start his slow, dreaded walk over to Usagi. He could do this. He was a SUPER hero, after all! He had his dashing smile prepared and everything as he finally reached the woman, setting a peace sign to his forehead as he posed. “Your sister – AHEM,” He took a deep breath and said in his super voice quite by accident, “I, Super Kuiper, am here to greet what I have been told is a fan of my work?” He hoped so, or else he wasn't sure why in the universe she would want to talk to him at all. ..Alright, fine, he did know a reason, but his super stealth should have prevented her from noticing him outside her house or work!x☆(( Okay!~ owo We'll just say 8 or higher is a hit, 7 or lower is a miss. 8D ))

It looked like a number of kids had decided to skip the first day of school, judging from the size of the group, and that made Peter frown as he perched on that flimsy piece of wood. A good number of the students were still standing at the perimeters, and that was no good! They were supposed to run around and enjoy the festivities! In fact, it looked like the only person who was even playing any games was an adult... He wished he could do something, but he was kind of stuck in the dunk tank until he was dunked, whatever that meant! From his elevated seat, however, he spotted his coworker Michael, and immediately tried to get his attention. Maybe they could figure something out, to get the kids more excited? At least, maybe, he could ask his coworker to "dunk" him and then he could get out. "Pssst, Michael! Michael!" he hissed, waving the man over. They had barely spoken, but this was a good time as any to make new impressions!
生物学
No. This couldn't be happening! River couldn't be losing the game popularity competition! Not only had Finnian (River was dumb, but not dumb enough to really buy into the Super Kuiper thing that much) copied her A+ marketing strategy, he had succeeded! She couldn't let him win! Glancing around, she looked for kids to play tug-of-war. Maybe if they played one match, the other kids would see how much fun it was and would want to join in! And everyone would forget about Finnian's dumb cup toss--oh wait no, that looked fun too. Well, she could play after she defeated Finnian! River rolled the rope into a loop, cowboy-style, and slipped it over her shoulder before running over to Jeremy and Mimi. "No time, come with me!" she cried as she grabbed their hands, Jeremy with one and Mimi by the other. Jeremy was her own spawn, and she had known Mimi since the girl was little, so she didn't feel like she needed to ask permission or explain what was going on, she simply tugged them after her as she went off looking for other people.
She spotted two teenagers (Keegan and Elizabeth) not far from each other, and decided it was perfect. Boy and a girl, evenly matched! "Hey, you two!" she called to them as she trotted up, son and son's friend in tow. "Wanna play tug-of-war? Just one game? Super fun, cool kids! Better than lame superheroes!" She felt a pang of guilt at the simple act of lying; superheroes were super cool, and she knew it.
歴史
Jeremy had been beelining for the food when he was intercepted by Mimi. He stopped and let her talk, though his attention was focused longingly on the snack table. He had been so close~ "Hi Mimi -- new teacher?" He followed Mimi's gesture and spotted the brown-haired man she was indicating. "Whoa, look at his hair," he marveled. He had never seen a man with hair that long or that shaved-y! His Uncle Alex had longish hair, but it wasn't like THAT! Jeremy wasn't sure if he liked it or not, but he was intrigued!
That's when he was hijacked. "Huh? Mom, not now..." he managed to get out as River seized his hand, but only just. The food! The food was calling him and now his mother was dragging him away in the opposite direction! His protests did nothing, however, and all he could do was give the food table one more look of pining before he got swept away.

Michael was really just watching all the people milling around when he heard someone pssting him. Looking around and half expecting to see a shady man in a trench coat, he realized it was just one of the other teachers. Michael gave him a curious smile as he wandered over to the dunk tank and peered up at him. "Yeah? What's going on?" He looked down at the water. "Isn't that cold? Lucky no one's interested in playing at the moment, right? Anyway, what do you need? A drink or something? I can go get one...or...?" He wasn't sure what else Peter could really want but whatever. He was stuck in the tank and Michael was pretty much okay with being an errand boy for him if he needed it. "How'd they talk you into sitting in that thing anyway?"

✉x Mimi was just about to blab to Jeremy about how that type of hair probably meant their new teacher had some kind of horrible past that he was hiding from them because mama had always told her weirdo hairstyles like that meant member of the mafia. But that would only lead to her thinking how cool that was and attempt to rope Jeremy in to harassing the man and later break into his home for evidence on her theories, which.. probably meant that it was a darn good thing River had broken in before that could happen.
Mimi didn't protest being whisked away because it really helped her decide what to do first since there was so much she could be doing! Besides, having a tug of war against Keegan and Elizabeth just sounded like the most fun ever! She waved at them until her arm got tired and decided to try to help River out, “Please? Please, please, please?! It's super cool and – hey, aren't you the student with a kid? Oh, WOW, that is so cool – are you here as a parent and a student?” That just sounded like.. wow, she didn't even know how to describe how cool that must be! It was like he was two different people at once! She wasn't even sure how she felt on that, except her mother would be so proud to meet this boy because he was obviously super mature for having a kid so young!x✉

Wow. Kasie briefly mouthed as she walked into the building. This was so exciting! She never got to really stick around long enough in an area for something like this, but thankfully, she was finally going to experience it! What should she do first? There was facepainting, so many different games, flower crowns, and animal rides there was even a tiger!. How on earth was she going to-- She got it. She knew the perfect thing to do. That was to watch all the guys at the festival. How wonderful. But who was she going to watch exactly? There were just so many, and her eyes couldn’t follow them all. Darn it! As gorgeous as they all were, she was going to have to go with one. Then, that meant that she’d need to stalk the perfect one. Quite frankly, they all looked perfect to her, so this was going to be a tough one. After a long moment of trying to randomly pick a person, Kasie had settled upon the blonde man [ Peter] that was in the dunk tank. This... This was a really good choice because if she could somehow get him dunked, then he’d be wet. With his clothings cling to him. And wet. Did she also mention wet? She swallowed back drool and headed over to two men. Why couldn’t they be in the tank together? It would have been marvelous to have seen this awesomely dressed guy [Michael] soaked as well. “Hi there! Am I interrupting you two? If I am, I’m really sorry about that. If I’m not, then can I try out the dunk tank? I mean, is it even open yet? If it’s still closed, can I somehow get a head’s up when it’s open? I mean, as long as it’s not too much of a hassle. This game just looks really fun to play!” Not to mention, fun to watch. So. Much. Fun. To. Watch. She beamed at the two. (( OOC: Will post the rest of my characters after sleeeeep. ))

What was her sister doing? For now it seemed they were just talking, but about what? Not about her, she hoped! Oh, but at least the man didn't seem to be leaving the stand. Maybe she wouldn't have to endure an awkward encounter. She continued to watch her sister, who was now playing the game at the super heroes stand. Good, she had been distracted, Usagi sighed in relief as she went back to looking over the flower crown instructions. She continued to do so until she heard footsteps approaching. It was probably Mitsukai back from playing the game, coming to show her the prize she won. "See Mitsukai, I told you-" she turned around. Oh, that was not Mitsukai. Well that was embarrassing. "Oh, um...hi," she managed. There she was in front of a real live super hero and all she could manage was "oh, um...hi" she should be ashamed of herself. He was just so cool though! What could she possibly say that would even interest him? Sure she could talk about that time long ago when she joined a super hero group, but that never really went through, and even if it had she wouldn't have made a very good super hero. If she told him something like that he'd probably just laugh, and that would be awful! She couldn't be made fun of by a super hero!
Maybe she'd just introduce herself, that was a normal thing to do, right? "Um, I'm Usagi.." Yeah, that was definitely the normal thing to. Or was it, she was greeting a super hero, after all! He probably didn't even care about her name. "I'm sorry about my sister?" that worked right? Yeah, it was fine. Even if it did come out as more of a question than a statement. Besides, it was a perfectly valid reason to apologize. Super cool super heroes didn't want to be bothered by people like Mitsukai. Yeah, this conversation was going so well. --------------------
"Yeah!" she jumped up and threw her arms in the air after her win. "I knew I could do it!" In your face weird guy! Now he had no choice but to go greet her sister, and she won these not so awesome prizes! Oh well, a prize was a prize. Awful or not, it didn't change the fact that she had won. Usagi would be so grateful, she was sure of it. Even if she wasn't grateful right away, one day she'd thank her for it. For now though, Mitsukai had to manage the booth. Looks, like she'd have to set everything up again too. Man, she really should have thought about that before offering to watch. Well, maybe she'd at least have some people come to play. Sure she wanted to help her sister out, but it wasn't fair that she didn't have someone to talk with too! Maybe she'd just abandon the stand. No one was going to come anyway, and she wasn't exactly the most reliable person around. It was Super Kuiper's mistake for trusting her. She supposed she could watch the stand for a minute though, just until she found something better to do.
--------------------
"Ew, tug of war" that did not sound like Elizabeth's idea of fun. Who was this lady anyway, and why'd she think someone as awesome as Elizabeth would be interested in playing some dumb game like that. "Playing that will get me all sweaty. Being sweaty is gross," she pointed out to the woman. She looked over to the girl pleading with them to play, "No, no, no, no" she answered. Matching her number of no's with the girl's pleases. A fellow girl should know how gross and sweaty she'd end up playing a game like that. Did the girl's in this town know anything? She clearly didn't know anything about gaining admirers. She sure did know how to talk though, Elizabeth would give her that. What was it that she had just said anyway? Something about that boy having a kid? That meant that he had- What!? No way?! How could someone like him beat her to that!? That was not acceptable at all. She looked at the boy with an incredulous expression. Yes, she could respect him, though the respect was taken down a notch since having a kid meant he hadn't been very responsible. Still, the respect wasn't completely gone.

XXXXXXXXXX Keegan was getting slightly frustrated with his lack of desire to do much of anything here. Could he just leave? Would that count as some sort of absence? He didn't quite want to start out his first year at this new school with an absence. He was certain that he may end up having to have some sort of fatherly duty later on in the year. So, when he heard someone calling in his general direction he looked somewhat eagerly. As eagerly as he could be, anyway. Tug-of-war? He basically had no upper body strength, but he was willing to try anything. It wasn't until he saw his partner that he started to feel a bit nervous. It did look pretty fun though and these people were actually around his age, probably his new classmates. Unfortunately, it seemed as though everyone knew about his... predicament. "Uh... yeah that's me. My son isn't here, though. So, I guess I'm just a student today." He casually shrugged, wondering just how everyone had found out about this. It wasn't as though he had been broadcasting it all around, though he guessed they had been out in public together. "Tug-of-war sounds kind of cool, I guess." He looked over at his partner and offered a weak smile. She didn't seem like she was very interested and he knew that there was no possible way that he could take on both of the others. "I mean, I guess if you want to be my partner. I'm sure you can't possibly get that sweaty." He tried his hardest not to roll his eyes. Who got that upset over a little bit of sweat?
_____________________________________________
Lunesca was eagerly awaiting anyone to want to come and play some fun darts with her! But, that wasn't really happening. She noticed that some of the other adults were starting to attempt to entice the kids with how cool their booths were. What could possible be cooler than throwing weapons at balloons? She stood up straighter and cupped her hands around her mouth, "Whenever you're done being laaaaame come throw some darts! Darts are the coolest thing here!" She was stooping oh so very low, but she'd be damned if she was going to sit back and watch all of this hot air go to waste. She wasn't entirely above grabbing adults. It's not like all of them were very busy anyway.

Blake was more than prepared for his job as the lunch man: bendy straws for wriggling jelly worms, toothpicks for making chocolate chips on cookies look like spiders, and food coloring for all sorts of dyeing fun. There was so much more, but he couldn't ruin the surprise. With his supplies wedged into a rolling cart, he made his way to the cafeteria to set up. As he entered through the doors, he scrambled to get a secret item to place above the door. That’s right. He was going to go for the old bucket over the head technique. Instead of a bucket, it was a stuffed animal. Perfect. Whoever was the first to get in would get to keep the fluffy plush too. He grinned in contentment and went back to rolling the cart over to the benches. There was so much revamping that he would have to do for this small area, but he would make do with what he had. What he had were cookie jars stuffed with delicious store-bought cookies because there was no way that he would let the tykes suffer from his sister’s cookies. She was such a horrible old lady that couldn’t even follow her stereotype. Tsk. Tsk. With a small cluck of the tongue in his disappointment at Melanie’s poor baking skills, Blake went back to his task of centering a cookie jar on each bench.

-NEW DAY-
It was dark in the hallway, light coming from the office behind her illuminating just a thin strip of linoleum. Moonlight was streaming through the classroom windows, but Yuri couldn't see it from where she was standing. She had closed the office door to just a crack to see if she could make out the glow, but the darkness that settled in the empty hallway was quite stubborn. Oh well, it made it feel more exciting, more real. They could have turned on the hallway light, but she had insisted that it was better to leave it off. They didn't want to be seen, after all.
Yuri had been a student in this same school house for nearly eight years, but she had never been inside at night. She had certainly wanted to, and on several occasions the inclination had been strong enough to lift her from her bed, but she had never managed to break in. It had featured in a dream or two of hers, though. The classroom, filled with empty desks, bathed in white light. It was peaceful and tranquil in her dreams, not nearly as gloomy as it was in reality. Still, the excitement was the same. She almost felt like she was sixteen again, exploring her world in the only way she knew how.
When Junior had called her that evening, she could have jumped for joy. Her friend asked her for favors every once in a while, but this was certainly a first. To ask her to help him break into the school! Yuri was stunned silent for a moment, but then she was practically giddy. It had been a good many years since she had last had to break a lock or climb out a window, and it made her feel young again. Sure, it wasn't quite breaking in -- Junior was the principal of the school and he was welcome to come and go as he pleased, but he couldn't very well get in when his keys were sitting safe and secure in his office! She hadn't even laughed at the poor man's misfortune, she was already changing into an easy-to-move-in dark outfit when she hung up the phone. Yuri Allen was a grown woman, thirty-two years old, mother of two, and yet she had practically dragged Junior around the periphery of the school in search of that one bad window she remembered from her student days. The frame was old and warped, so it couldn't lock all the way, and while it took some hard yanking and shoving, it was possible to unclasp the lock and push open the window enough to climb through. Her shoulder ached a bit from banging it against the frame, but the adrenaline rush was worth it.
Once they were inside, there was no real point in them being secretive, but Yuri wasn't ready to give up her teenage dream just yet, and she insisted on acting like they were doing something illicit. That's why, while Junior went into his office to look for his keys, she stood out in the hallway, keeping watch. It was dead silent, except for the soft sounds of Junior shuffling around the office, and her ears strained to catch the sound of security approaching. The school didn't have security, so really she was listening for nothing, but she was allowed her small pleasures!
"Junior," she hissed through the barely-open door, "Hurry up, I think someone's coming!" She immediately had to bite her bottom lip to keep herself from snickering; she was lying through her teeth, but she wouldn't forgive herself if she went the whole evening without saying something like that. Without waiting to see if he believed her or not, Yuri turned back to the dark hallway. She was overcome with a feeling of nostalgia, sneaking out after dark, standing in this hallway. She had waited outside of this room a couple times as a student for various dress code violations and tardiness, but now it made her feel oddly relaxed. Her life had gotten too monotonous, the days and nights blending together in a blur even though she was more often sober than she had been in a long time, and sometimes all you needed to keep the stress from swirling around in your chest was to enjoy a night that was Special. And Yuri wholeheartedly intended on enjoying it.

A This was more humiliating than usual for the man, but Junior was way past the point of being affected by things of that nature. He only had to give himself a short moment to sigh and stare at the ground before calling the only person he knew that would be both okay and capable of breaking into a building. Well, only person he knew that he was also willing to call and maybe a bit excited to do so, though he certainly hadn't sounded like it on the phone with the multitude of long silences and mumbled responses. Still, the call had left him with a burst of energy that made waiting in the cold outside the school much more bearable. He couldn't really remember a time he had actually asked Yuri to come out to see him – as in, actually gone through with it and not faltered or hang up before he could get it out. He was almost.. proud of himself?
Up until the woman had actually arrived and treated the entire scenario as if they were burgling the place and not.. not just helping Junior get what he was legally allowed. He knew very well that no one would arrest them for being in the school after hours – he had been here several times on his own to help clean up with no problems! But, as they made it through a window that he couldn't hope to open the way she did, he was beginning to doubt if this was actually legal. Had he been breaking the law this entire time? He.. He didn't think so or he hoped, really hoped, he hadn't because he knew he couldn't survive prison. Or even that tiny cell at the police station with that frightening sheriff and.. and he needed to start acting like his age.
He chewed his lip warily as he searched his office for his missing keys, thankful that Yuri had allowed at least this light to remain on. No one was going to arrest them for being inside the school, he was allowed to be in here, and he really, really wished Yuri would stop pretending they weren't because it was putting him on edge. But he couldn't work up the nerve to tell her to stop and it was too late now. Besides, he didn't want her to get mad and leave. Even if he had just found his keys and they would be leaving soon anyway. He stood up from underneath his desk, the clanging of the keys making him tense up involuntarily, which didn't help what Yuri said next.
“Wh-what? I found them, let's go.” He whispered, trying to prevent any squeaks from entering his voice as he quickly tiptoed out of the office, shutting off the light and nearly hitting Yuri as he left. He had his hand enveloping the teeth of the keys to keep them from making a sound as he looked down the hall to try to find out who could possibly be coming. His first instinct told him to just run out of there, but he knew they had no security guards and, though the police were.. thorough on the island, it was likely some teenagers. ...That he couldn't possibly discipline, oh, God, he should probably leave before they catch him too.

If they had really been burglarizing the place, this probably would have been a much more complicated operation. There would be things to carry, codes to crack, those laser motion detector things -- maybe Yuri should stop falling asleep with the television on. In any case, it would be much more anticlimactic than finding keys. At least find some secret documents or a golden monkey or something! ...Maybe she should stop drinking before she fell asleep with the television, too. In other words, it ended too fast for her tastes. She could have continued standing there, enjoying the dark and the quiet, for another hour, but Junior emerged from the office not long after he had gone in. Yuri almost wanted to shove him back in and tell him to look again (he'd be confused but would probably do it anyway). This wasn't some errand you sped through so you could rush home! Junior was a good guy, but sometimes his inability to get it was frustrating.
"Wait, Junior," she breathed, holding out her arm to stop him (her eyes had adjusted to the dark already). "I think they're coming. We should run, hurry!" Yuri seized Junior by the wrist, as his hand was firmly clamped shut, and pulled him after her as she trotted down the hallway. She didn't really have to run, since she was just making it up, but for some reason saying it out loud had given her a burst of adrenaline as if they really were running off to hide. It was a small school, so the hallway wasn't very long, and she ducked into the nearest classroom, but she was still a little breathless as she pulled Junior in after her and shut the classroom door.
She couldn't hold back the giggles anymore, so as soon as the door latched shut, she leaned against it and let out a breathy laugh. Running her hand through her hair, she glanced around the classroom. The desks were lined up neatly and there was a significant lack of picture books, so it looked like she had pulled them into the upper grade classroom. The room was moonlit, yes, but it wasn't nearly as magical or romantic as she had imagined it. Actually, it was a little creepy if you thought about it. "It sure is different here at night, isn't it? More exciting than it ever was during the day, at least." She still hadn't taken the time to check if he had believed her jokes, and by now her thoughts had traveled off to somewhere completely different. "I still feel like I'm going to get in trouble or something, though," she added with a small laugh. "Do you ever feel like that, when you're here?"
