Just as Salem was preparing to throw Cyrus' face against the footboard, he felt a surging pain in his gut courtesy of "The Dream" throwing an elbow with ill-intent, briefly knocking the wind from Salem's chest. Though he still managed to keep his grip on Cyrus' hair, his former manager's subsequent blows would force Salem back, staggering against the wall just a couple feet opposite the end of Joe's bed. Grasping his ribs a little, growling, Salem would ferociously growl while Joe's heart monitor started to beep faster, the Charismatic Calamity waiting for Cyrus to straighten his spine before lurching forward, looking to nail his Wrestlemania opponent with a Big Boot to the face, hopefully sending him backward against the hospital bed Joe occupied.

At last, Salem had managed to get the upper-hand on Cyrus once again, the wounded warrior's arms draped across the length of Joe's headboard as The Dream stared blankly down at the hospital floor tile. A wicked glint emerged in Salem's eyes as he watched the aftermath of his strike, Joe looking on in shock while his hand jammed at the panic button. Despite this, the orderlies that waited in the outer lobby found themselves unable to intervene, the chair Salem propped up earlier barricading the pair of brawlers inside of the medical room. While the attendants yelled at Salem to open up, Salem ignored their requests and approached Cyrus from behind, swiftly trying to lift the man with a Full Nelson.

"How do you like your hero, now?!" Salem screamed, trying to sink in the submission and wrench Cyrus' head forward while at the same time leaving his arms indisposed above his head, looking to work on the neck area of Cyrus while emphasizing the presence and pain of the situation.

Salem was startled as Cyrus shrugged off his attempt at a submission, instead low-blowing the lad with a mule kick to the groin while the orderlies continued struggling with the door, handle jiggling and frame shaking as they took turns trying to shoulder the doorway open. Hunching over a little, Salem slowly took a couple of steps backward, trying to get a little separation between himself and The Dream while he tried to recover, only to let out a gut-wrenching howl that was a blend of both frustration and pain. Salem wasn't about to give in from just that, it'd take more than a shot below the belt to stop the ruthless rookie's assault. Thus, with a lurch of force, Salem would try to drive Cyrus onto the bed - and thus, his very friend - by charging forward with a vicious shoulderblock, hoping to fight through the pain and stack the two men atop one another as he did so.

Salem had managed to fight through the ache in his groin and throw himself shoulder-first into Cyrus, knocking "The Dream" off his feet and onto the hospital bed behind him. Rolling to the side, Salem had to pause and cup his crotch for a moment in a fetal position while Joe's heart-rate had reached dangerous levels. The burly orderlies had sequestered a security guard to assist in trying to break down the door, but it was to no avail - the well-positioned chair withstanding their banging and bashing. Crawling up to his feet, using the stand Joe's food tray was previously placed upon for leverage, Salem struggled to get up to his feet before attempting to throw a fist down at Cyrus' face to stun him a moment longer.
