"Them." she hissed. "The herds below my mountain. Your people. You should know." Why was he acting so confused? There was only her, and everyone else. He was not her, therefore he had to be one of them. "You should go back to them."
She laughed bitterly. "You hurt me simply by existing."
((If we can come up with a good excuse for it, I still like the idea.))

"... But... wouldn't that be everyone else?" If no one but her was on the mountain and 'them' was all of the herds below it... Her bitter laugh and the following comment made him frown. "Why is that? Why would me existing hurt you?"
(( Well, his grandfather (as soon as the custom is done) is gonna come back to life as a demonic spirit... thing, his father can sense death, and he was a Halloween baby. I'm sure we can find a good reason. 8D
Maybe he has an ability that somehow cancels out hers? ))

"Why do you think I live here all alone?" she cried. This stubborn fool was obviously not going anywhere until he had tortured the last of her sanity out of her. There was no point in prolonging it. She may as well give him what he wanted. "Wherever there is life, there is death. I see that death. Everywhere. Everyone. Now go away before I have to watch yours, too."
(( Hey, if you can get an Azzy-approved Attie-canceling ability, I think we'll have something. =3 I'm sure Attie would appreciate not having to see her future loved one's death. ))

Plouton's eyes quietly widened in surprise. She... saw death? How sad. How lonely. Wasn't there anyone she could be with that wouldn't cause her that agony? "... I'm sorry..." He turned and began walking away. No matter how much he wanted to help her, it would just hurt her more if he stayed, right? The stallion didn't want to torture her with his death too.
(( Azzy ok'd it. =) Though it has to have a side-effect of equal strength to the ability. ))

Atropos stiffened. Finally, finally he was leaving, and her power decided to kick in. She screamed her defiance, waiting for visions of blood and pain, but all that found her was darkness.
The mare wavered a moment before collapsing.
(( Yay! What's the ability going to be, specifically? ))

Plouton couldn't help it; he stopped and spun around when she screamed. But as he went to go to her, his vision went black. It wasn't until he was opening his eyes that he realized he'd passed out. What had happened? The stallion slowly got to his feet, his legs protesting. His frame felt unnaturally heavy as he slowly trudged over to the mare--who appeared to have collapsed as well. He gently nudged her, glowing blue eyes full of worry. Was she alright? (( I dunno. Still trying to figure that out. > > All I know is that it somehow cancels out Attie's. ))

The mare groaned quietly as she felt something nudging her. It was a distant sensation, somehow detached in a way that even her madness did not quite manage to make things. Unconsciousness was not something that Attie was particularly familiar with. Sleep did not come easily to her and to her memory she had never simply lost consciousness before. Because of this, it took a little longer for her to realize what had happened to her than it should have. Struggling against the darkness, she forced her way back to the waking world. Blearily, her empty eyes focused on the stallion who stood so near to her.

Plouton relaxed a bit when she seemed to regain consciousness. Or at least, he thought that's what happened; it was hard to tell since her eyes were empty sockets. "Are you alright?" he asked softly, trying not to collapse again. Why did he feel so... weak? He felt like a rag doll.
