Pasiphae was tired. the fact that she had thus far been able to hold her own against Mica was not as important to her as Chaldene's continued protection. But using her powers twice in such short succession had taken a toll from which she had yet to recover. Her limbs grew heavier, her panting increased and her head was beginning to ache horribly from the strain of negotiating the divided battle.

The Shame Senshi glanced to her right to try and keep an eye on the two Negaverse officers who had not yet joined the fight. The red-headed Captain she did not know looked as though he wanted to jump in, but Beniotite was keeping him still for the moment. She did not know why. The terrified faces of the civlilans currently behind her shields gave her little comfort. How much longer would those maroon barriers last?

When she managed to finally look to the left, Chaldene was still in the more recently summoned shield. The blue energy and motions he made clearly showed that he had called on his own magic. Hopefully it would help him against the lieutenant savagely beating on the barrier between them.

This last look cost her dearly. She landed a little too hard and felt her heel slip. Her balance momentarily lost, she could not concentrate on anything by staying on her feet. If she fell to the grass she would be nothing but a human pin cushion. To her horror, all the shields she had made disappeared from around not only the less experienced Senshi but the civilians as well. "NO!"

==

Serpentine stopped his beating when the boy in the shield said something. The appearance of blue lighting and the stance of blowing a gun seemed theatrical, but pointless. He felt no pain, no ill effects. His head still reeling from the sensation of shame that spurred him, he moved to punch the shield again.

Until he spooted a blue orb in his peripheral vision and rolled to avoid impact. His dodge complete, he pushed himself back to his feet--only to see that same irritating light, now coming from his other side! He whipped his rubber snake to try and hit it. No matter how he moved or struck, however, it was still there!

With a growl, he looked at Buddingtonite and shouted four words, "Business in the front!" What that strange cry, he dashed towards the white-and-blue clad Senshi once more. The pesty light still distracted him, but that was fine--considering he was providing a distraction himself.

Normally Buddingtonite wouldn't have minded others hogging all the action and especially given his orders, he'd gladly sit out the fight. His specialty was woohooing others to their cause, after all. Let the two Spec-Ops take care of the fighting and killing part. Besides, he had to wait for the shields to drop to continue draining energy, a task that he felt much more comfortable with.

However, the moment that the white and blue senshi summoned his attack and Serpentine cried out, Buddingtonite had to forsake his orders and engage. He said nothing to Benitoite before taking off, readying his boomerang and charging at Chaldene's open back. He, too, gave a shout, not only alerting Chaldene of the imminent attack but breaking Mica from her own business. "Party in the back!"

Mica was surprised with how much of a fight this Senshi was putting up, though she knew that she shouldn't have been. Despite all of her flaws, this one had made it to the rank of Eternal and she knew it wasn't simply because some guardian cat pitied her. No, she must have earned it, and that only made Mica want to pluck those feathers all the more. Her own breath caught in her throat at the sight of her wobble but she didn't fall, and Mica was beginning to find herself respecting this one the more she tried to kill her.

Such blatant fear and yet she still stuck around. But for who? The Senshi or the civilians?

The shields had dropped around the civilians and those conscious were beginning to scatter, and Serpentine's and Buddingtonite's shouts in succession was the only thing that saved Pasiphae from another strike as it enticed Mica to look back. Party in the what now? The sight of the civilians scattering made her shout, turning her back to Pasiphae for a moment as she shouted to the others. "Buddingtonite, the civilians are getting away! General, secure them before that fool ruins everything!"

He didn't say anything, understanding something between the two was going on. And while he watched the red haired Captain take off, shouting something else, he waited to see what would happen with Mica. He was sure the other two had things covered with a low level senshi.

So he stood, a General, in the wings waiting to step in if he was needed. If he was needed there would most certainly be blood spilt and he would be the one spilling it. He had thought he might spend the whole fight standing and watching, like some hovering guardian but he was called in then, the Captain's shouts reaching his ears. And off he charged toward the people. His spear summoned as he moved. Short legs carried him quickly toward the scattering people. "I got the people covered, focus on that Eternal, let the other two handle the low level senshi! I'll keep the people secured!" Came the shouted response from the General.

Teleporting in front of one person he turned them around and then he was off to do the same with another person. Forcing them all toward the same point. Spear threatening and slate eyes cold and unwavering as he dared them each, silently, to try and pass him or strike out against him. These people wouldn't die - just give up some energy. It wasn't that bad; scary as it was for them.

Watching the Lieutenant go after whatever he saw, a blue light, the senshi felt himself smiling. His attack wasn't physically harmful! Good! He watched the Lieutenant, even as he took a few steps back away from him, and then it seemed the Lieutenant was focusing back on him. This didn't look good, not good at all, especially when he heard those words and then the shield fell. What did buisness in the front mean? He was sure it wasn't a good thing - at least not for him.

Backing up another step and glancing over his shoulder. s**t! That red haired Captain was charging at him! This really wasn't looking good for him at all. Having used his magic, for the first time ever, he felt tired and a glance to his fellow senshi told him that she was even worse than he was. "Pasiphae! I think we need to retreat!" As much as he didn't want to he was also sure they couldn't keep going. She looked ready to fall over unconscious, or get killed. And no back up was coming.

When she heard Chaldene call for for retreat... Pasiphae looked at the civilians. Tears began to trail down her face. It hurt. It hurt more than she thought she still had it in her to hurt. Wasn't exposure supposed to create a callous to soften pain, rather than tweak it to acute sensitivity?

"I'm... I'm sorry..." The words practically exploded from her lips, lubricated with tears as she turned her back on those innocents who had been relying on her. If she had been alone, she would have fought on despite her fatigue. She would have fought with every last ounce of the light that burned within her. Becauser her life did not matter as much as theirs. Because they relied on her to do what they could not.

But she was not alone. Chaldene needed her. It was not fair to ask him to lay down his life... and the very thought of it, of losing anyone else to the forces of Chaos...she couldn't bear it. She began to run, calling for the other Senshi to do the same. "Get out of there... I'll cover you!"

==

Serpentine paid no mind to the escaping civilians, confident that the other Negaverse officers could handle the situation. No. He only had eyes for two individuals. One was his approaching partner, to whom he gave a nod. The other was the Senshi in white and blue that had distracted him with that bizarre light.

But there was no light now. He drew back his fist for a punch.

Buddingtonite paid little attention to the Senshi's call for retreat, and when Pasiphae went to protect Chaldene, not once did he alter his course. The thought of taking down a Senshi in front of General Benitoite and the glory that would come to him and Serpentine for their teamwork was the only thing on his mind, so much that he paid little attention to the sudden blip of Order aura that suddenly sprung up on his inner radar. He gave a triumphant shout, bringing his fists together and giving a swing, looking to give her a good clock to the back of the head, his cry and attack cut off by another shout. "Time to knock you down a few pegs, little Senshi-"

"GLORIOUS WHITE TIGER!"

"Glorious White what now?" Buddingtonite had a knack of being at the entirely wrong end of a Senshi's attack, and by the time he turned his head, he saw nothing but a blinding white light, before feeling her attack at full force. It hit him dead in the chest and sent the Captain flying backwards, his cap and boomerang lost in transit. He hit the ground and bounced before falling at Benitoite's feet, and the within seconds of hitting the general's legs, he was outcold with a groan.

Unlike Buddingtonite, Mica felt the approaching presence and had pulled away from her attack within seconds. What Buddingtonite didn't know was that the new Eternal senshi was aiming for her and that by dodging out of the way, putting Captain Casanova in direct line of that attack. Mica couldn't hide her wince, genuinely pitying Buddingtonite's rotten luck, and when this new development, she was quick to overlook the two Senshi she had once had her aggression locked on turn to Benitoite and Serpentine. "Well, best make this quick. Two Eternals are a bit more than I'm willing to handle today."

She looked directly to Benitoite, unaware of the animosity between the two, as if wanting to hear his input first before making her leave. "Unless you're feeling bloodthirsty, general?"

Eternal Sailor Tsui wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but the moment she saw Pasiphae and Chaldene in danger, she didn't think, only acted. It hadn't taken long for her to transform and make her charge, and while she hadn't hit the cloaked one that was driving to drive her spear into her friend's back, she'd settle for the equally dangerous one that was going to strike down Chaldene. Between the captain with the spear, the lieutenant, and Benitoite, Tsui wasn't sure which one posed the biggest threat, but she wouldn't back down now. She gave a shout, curling her fists into tight balls and looking ready to deck someone right in the jaw. "Four verses two? No, you guys haven't changed a bit! Now that I evened the playing field, will you fly or fight?!"

He would have covered himself, could have covered himself, he was sure of it and yet the eternal was shouting that she would cover his retreat. He knew it must be hurting her to be leaving the innocent people behind, truth be told it bothered him also, but if they didn't live they couldn't potentially save other people in the future. He hated this - this whole thing!

He didn't like fighting, never would, but he had to think in a realistic and smart manner. He didn't want to see, or even know these innocent people would suffer but there was no option really. He and the eternal could go on to save other lives in the future, lives no one might save if they were both dead, and he had to remind himself that in war there was always death and always casualties. This was just a case of that.

As he heard someone speak right behind him he whipped around and spotted the red haired Captain. The Lieutenant with the balled up fist in front of him forgotten for the moment. When had the Captain - was that what that call was for? For the other to sneak up on him? Oh god...he'd almost wound up in big trouble. And he had Tsui! to thank for it. Green eyes locked onto the senshi of tigers and he almost hugged her - almost - but he did smile. "Pasiphae is too tired...and I'm not strong enough." He spoke wanting to get that information tot the other eternal as fast as he could.

While others may not have felt the incoming aura of order he had felt it, and was anticipating the reveal on which senshi it was. When he saw who it was he felt a smile tug at the corners of his lips and allowed the smile to bloom. Oh, this was going to be interesting.

The General watched as Mica moved out of the way and Buddingtonite took the Eternal senshi's attack full force and landed at his feet. Bending swiftly he checked on the Captain before looking up at the scene unfolding. His gaze settling onto the other Captain finally. "If those two senshi or leaving, or going to be otherwise occupied, I believe I'd like to declaw this kitty..." A glance over her and he felt that smile morphing into a smirk. "And add a few more scars to her." Standing up he moved around Buddingtonite, perhaps to protect him in a way, but also to get closer to the Captain's assailant.

"Oh - but these senshi interrupted some energy draining and training. I was merely called in as silent back up. So really it was two vs. three." Waving a hand about in the air in some aimless gesture he held his spear in his other hand. "But now that you're here I'm more than happy to do something more than shepherding people." Nope, he would not be flying. One eternal was tired, one was a simple senshi and the other eternal was Tsui. He wanted her and he wanted her blood coating the ground. Taking his spear into his other hand as well he made his approach, that cold arrogant tone never wavering.

"I'm going to spill your precious blood and coat the ground in red." Oh, that was just what he wanted to do. He had every intention of it in fact. Mica certainly had her answer as to whether or not he was feeling bloodthirsty - didn't she.

Tsui shows up, errybody get mad. xD

Sleet Tempest Snape

Pasiphae wanted to protect Tsui... but the effort of her previous assaults was too much. She could not muster up another attack this quickly... not without rest. Her pale face was an indicator as much as the sweat that rolled dowm her face and soaked her uniform. The tears were still falling, but she sniffed back any sobsAll the same, she could not let the other Eternal face this situation alone. With what power she had left, she called towards the other Etneral, "Tsui... Tsui we have to run...can't risk... losing the two of you."

It shamed her to say it, but the words were true.

===

"Buddingtonite!" Serpentine cried out for his partner, following his every, bouncing movement until he rolled to the feet of the general. The lieutenant's attack slowed as he skidded to a halt, half crouching as though in preparation to sprint after his friend. Benoitite's quasi-protective movement prevented him from acting, but it was not the only cause. She had appeared.

Chaldene was forgotten in lieu of this feline Senshi of black and white. Never would the lieutenant forget her. How she had terrorized his shop. How she had humiliated him. And now, adding to her crimes, how she injured Buddingtonite. Serpentine flung his rubber snake at her, providing opportunity for attack, he hoped. He followed right behind the weapon, his curled fist aiming straight for the Eternal.

It didn't matter to him that the General had already claimed Tsui's blood. It didn't matter to him that she had grown in power yet again, with white wings marking her progress. Nothing mattered except revenge, for himself and now for his partner that lay motionless on the ground. She would pay first, and then the other two. They would all pay.

He would see to it.

Mica wasn't quite expecting this new Senshi's arrival to stir up quite a reaction, and she could only wonder what this one in tiger stripes and tattered clothing could have done to not only earn General Benitoite's fire but Serpentine's as well. The two were never quite known for allowing others to see their true emotions, so the sight of not one, but both angry, made Mica curious about this Tiger senshi.

It also made her a little weary. If Benitoite was quick to want her dead, perhaps she was quite powerful and deemed a threat, and if that was the case, she'd go for a different tactic. As bloodthirsty as her own tendencies were, she felt she had another duty, and she brought her spear in front of Serpentine, not meaning to harm him but to cut him off from his advance, as well as protect him from Tsui. "This is over, Serpentine. Grab Buddingtonite and go."

It would mean letting Pasiphae and Chaldene flee, but Mica was certain that she'd see the two again someday. Perhaps next time there wouldn't be a tiger to come to their aid?

She certainly had her answer from Benitoite, and that only encouraged her to herd Serpentine and Buddingtonite to safety. "Let the general take care of this one. If you ask nicely, he'll leave a limb or something for you to kick at."

Tsui might not have been the brightest crayon in the box, but she knew a bad situation when she saw it, and she definitely knew what burning hatred was, too. She was expecting to see it to an extend, but the sight of Benitoite and the familiar looking lieutenant, honestly made her uneasy. She didn't allow for any of this to be seen, though, at least not to her friends, and she gave Chaldene and Pasiphae a warm smile, hoping to instill some strength within him enough to fall back. "No one said you weren't strong enough, Chaldene. I'm sure you did great."

Then she looked to Pasiphae, and her expression softened, if only slightly. It was just like Pasiphae to worry so much, but Tsui didn't think little of her for it. She wanted to chide her friend, but the sight of her exhaustion called to her, more than either Serpentine's or Benitoite's lust for her head. "Get going then. I'll be following right behind you, I promise!"

She wanted to fight. She always wanted to fight. But she wasn't willing to drag two others down with her. Benitoite wasn't a general that made idle threats, and two of the scars at her waist was living proof of this. It was almost itching, as though the mere presence of the general that left his mark was having an adverse effect, and she stood strong, listening to his words and chewing the inside of her cheek with anticipation. He sounded really angry with her, and she couldn't imagine it just being because she survived their last encounter... perhaps something else had happened? Either way, he wanted her blood, and so did Serpentine, and she wasn't quite willing to give it to them. Not without a fight, anyways.

"Yeah, well, you already left your mark on me. That's not enough for you?" Tsui spat, bringing her fists to the front and prepared to defend herself, hoping that Pasiphae and Chaldene were well on their way out. "At least I know why you want me dead, sort of... not sure about that guy over there, but I'm not going to give it you either of you without a fight!"

Among this chaos and turn of events, Buddingtonite was only now beginning to stir, but he felt too weak to move, and he managed to give a groan before slipping back into unconsciousness. "Stewardess... there's something on the wing..."

As Tsui orders were shouted, and her assurance to follow them given, Chaldene went to the other eternal senshi and offered her a hand. "Put your weight on me and we'll get out of here." Worried she might not be able to make an escape on her own, he didn't know just how tired and worn out her body and specifically her legs were.

"We need to leave and trust in Tsui." Trust that she could handle this, trust that she would follow them, and just trust in her. "We can't stay here any longer." And he would feel for all the people they left behind, how could he not? These were innocent people they couldn't help and who couldn't help themselves either. He didn't like this - any of it. He hated fighting and this was worse...this was war and causalities were soon to be added to an already there list of casualties.

Could he do it? Could he become something more? Something stronger and learn to fight in this war? Could he protect people as they needed to be? He didn't know if he could but he knew he'd have to try...did he have a choice to do otherwise? Not after this night he didn't.

It was with cold detachment that he watched a rubber snake go sailing through the air aimed for the senshi of tigers. A pity it wasn't something more dangerous and injury causing, a real shame. He might like to see something smash that little face of he's in; the very mental image of such a scene produced a smile from the petite General.

"No, it's not good enough I'm afraid. This time I'm planning on painting the ground with your blood. You got away last time and that was a mistake on my part - to trust that something such as yourself would die so easily." He spoke coldly, his words deadly calm, as he finally launched himself at her. Spear moving in a wide arch as an attempt to slash her across the midsection. He would see her blood spilled tonight if he had his say in the matter.

He'd heard Mica's words, just as he was prepairing to launch himself at the black and white clad senshi, and finally decided to respond to it. "If all goes well I'll leave them a bloody body to pick at and do with as they please. I just wish to see her dead at my hand." And ripping out her starseed seemed too simple, not satisfying enough.

Perhaps if the him of the past, before chaos touched him, could see him now when powered up and even as a civilian the corruption would be noticed as would the differences between powered and civilian. Powered up he was certainly more bloodthirsty then as a civilian, and he was more caring as a civilian (or at least it extended to more people). But the Alexandre Evans of years ago was gone and the whole process had been so slow and so smooth; that it was only on rare occasion that he questioned the chaos which flowed through his starseed. But the untainted him of the past could not see what he would become, could not then turn down that late night offer, the hands of time could not be turned back and things undone. This darkened path taken and here he stood now attacking another person and seeking their demise in a most bloody fashion, certainly not something he'd have even thought of years ago.

Consider this post Pasi and Serpe checking out! Also, I can't help but feel poor Buddy will regret not being concious for this.

Pasiphae desperately wanted to stay. She had sworn, and meant to follow her vow, of insuring that no one on the side of Order would fight alone. Her only comfort was Chaldene's soft touch, his wise words--wise beyond his experience level, and undeniably true. She could not quite muster a smile for him, but she squeezed his hand. Taking some strength from his, she nodded towards him. "I know... that we can trust Tsui... she can be impulsive,but she... would not break a promise."

With one last squeeze, she released her grip and ushered for him to go first. The Senshi of Shame certainly felt shame at not being able to rescue those that relied on her... but she would be damned if anything happened to either of her allies if she could possibly prevent it. Just in case someone struck at his back... she wanted to be sure she could take the blow first.
===

Serpentine's chest hit the spear that blocked his path, and for a few moments he simply stared down at it. His eyes flashed with anger. Mica outranked him. Buddingtonite outranked him. Benitoite outranked him. He had no choice but to follow any of their orders, no matter how it turned his stomach to run like a coward. Was this all they thought him good for? A lackey? Unworthy--or incapable--of taking revenge? They were wrong, if so... and he would prove it. Just not this night.

If the lieutenant had anything in his favor, it was his patience and his adaptablity. He would rather make the tiger-striped girl pay himself... but if the General did with her what he wished, then his revenge would be obtained as a side effect. Additionally, Mica's words made sense to him; his partner and friend would not be able to recover from his injuries and escape alone. It was more important that they live to fight another day than to lash out like a child. With a curt nod, he acknowledged her command and appraoched the sprawled out captain.

It took him only a moment to use the strength granted to him by the dark gift to lift Buddingtonite's prone form into his arms and then over his shoulder for ease of carrying. With that, Serpentine made his exit, seeking a secluded area where he and his partner could transform back into their normal selves. He was uncertain whether this night should count as a victory, a defeat, or a draw... but regardless, he would learn from what had occured. Next time... it would be an unquestioned victory. He would see to it.

"Why I've never seen you so bloodthirsty, Benitoite," Mica said with a purr, looking at the Tiger Senshi and wishing that he hadn't given the order to retreat. She wanted to see how this fight would play out between the two, as well as see what she possibly could have done to deserve such a rotten fate, and yet she would not disobey her orders. Besides, she needed to check on poor Buddingtonite and make sure he wasn't suffering from a concussion or something life threatening. She waited for Serpentine to grab their fallen comrade and followed after him, flashing a grin to the retreating forms of Pasiphae and Chaldene. "We'll catch you eventually, my dears. Your starseeds will fit perfectly to Benitoite's collection along with your friend's someday."

She followed after Serpentine, keeping her spear close incase any of them had the bright idea to try attacking them in their retreat. She had no parting words for the Tiger senshi, nor the general that looked ready to tear her asunder, though. She didn't need to wish Benitoite luck... she was certain he'd be the victor in this battle.

Buddingtonite had managed to give a groan and he felt as though he were floating in air, but his head was still too groggy to make much sense of everything. He heard people talking, but nothing they said made sense, and so, he merely continued to lay limp on whoever's shoulder, offering no resistance either physical or verbal. Next time, he'd chose the outings... someplace calm, peaceful, with less Senshi about...

Tsui gave Pasiphae one last reassuring nod, knowing that she was hurting her friend much with this decision but only if she managed to get hurt again. While she was confident that she'd be able to dodge that spear's blade, she couldn't deny the real anger she saw in Benitoite's form, and she couldn't help but feel more curious about the cause for this hatred than the fact that he was threatening to kill her.

Of course, she was worried about her own life- why would she not be? But she was determined to get to the bottom of this, before working her way to retreat. She took comfort in Pasiphae's touch, as well as Chaldene's words, and she flashed them both a confident smile before curling her hands into fists and readying herself for the fight. "Keep an eye on each other. I'll catch up with you as soon as I can... don't worry, I have no intentions of letting this guy get the best of me again."

She turned her attention back to Benitoite, her stance a clear sign that she was ready. Whatever she had done to wrong him, she was certain that she'd have to find a way to apologize, with her fists.
