~When the sky falls, darkness conquers light~ ..Username: Phail Ninja ..Foal's Name: Ebony (if female) - dark strength, beauty; Aeron (if male) - mountain of strength, carnage, slaughter I tried to pick names that had a double meaning so that they would fit with Umo's belief that a given name will reflect how they turn out. This way, they could have been named for their strength or beauty, a good quality, but there is always that hint of darkness that will arise due to Giorgia's meddling. ..Gender: I will write this entry from the female's perspective, but everything below applies regardless of gender ^.^ ..Temper: Powerful ..Personality: As A Foal: Ebony has always been the slightly quieter, almost broody foal. As An Adult: ..Plots?: I think it would fun for Giorgia to send Ebony back to her parents and remaining sibling just before she mounts the final attack. She will return and make up a bogus story, explaining that she had been stolen by some evil kalona but had managed to escape and track down her birth family. Her actual purpose back with her family is to do some recon, to find out the family dynamics and how best to infiltrate and strike at Umo. During this time, she will almost start to doubt what Giorgia has taught her about Umo, as her true family seems loving and happy. Before she can fully form any traitorous plans though, Giorgia will return to steal away the remaining siblings and so the plot will continue as planned. ..Is this your first entry, or second?: First ..Prompt Response: Please post one at a time - you can do 1 response as a male, and 1 as a female, or two of the same gender - up to you! Also, it can be any length you want! ..Role Your Soquili Will Play?: Ultimately, Ebony will carry out the role she was raised to fulfil - that of striking down her father. However, after spending some time gathering intelligence about her family, she will perhaps begin to doubt everything that she has been told about them. With a heavy heart, she will do the task, perhaps after a moment of hesitation. After all, her entire life had been a lead up to that moment, what was there for her if she failed the task then? She would always regret doing it. It would haunt her for the rest of her existence. I imagine once Giorgia disposes of her, Ebony will vanish for a while, forced to reflect back on her life and where she should go from there. Given time, I think she would seek out her family and try to reconcile with them, in an attempt to make up for what she has done. CHEEZE: BALLZ.

~When the sky falls, darkness conquers light~ ..Username: saedusk ..Foal's Name: Mbali [ unisex, meaning 'distant' in swahili ] ..Gender: played as female ..Temper: self-interested
..Personality: ○ self-interested - There's only one horse in the world that Mbali truly looks out for and that's herself. As a young foal, she'll care for her siblings and pseudo-family, but with great quickness those feelings will dry up. She would, of course, do as she's told for quite a while, but only because her own well-being is at stake.
○ observant - Rather quiet unless provoked, she prefers to observe the world around her before interacting with it. This often gives her a leg up over the ones who rush in without thinking, or so she tells herself. On the other hand, Mbali just likes to watch things. She enjoys nature and birdwatching, as well as counting the stars at night. Information interests her, and she means to soak it up as much as she can.
○ cautious - A tendency that comes with being observant, Mbali is very careful when going about things. She doesn't leap ahead without making sure it's safe first and she tries to consider all avenues of possibility to keep from being surprised.
○ gentle - Physically more so than vocally, Mbali, whenever she does touch anyone or anything purposefully, has a very gently hoof. In fact, losing control and accidentally hurting someone is a great detriment to her psyche, as she's always tried to carry herself with grace and, thanks to her self-possessive nature, highly dislikes feeling unable to stop herself from doing something. Right now it's not so much that she hurts them as she hurts herself emotionally, but eventually she'll grow into caring for others again (as long as all plots go well).
○ closed - Not one to talk about her emotions, or much of anything about herself at all, Mbali doesn't often connect with others. She acts cold and disinterested, attempting to keep both busybodies, and also the general population, at arms length. Her business is her business and she'd like it to stay that way.
○ awkward - Mbali has a short fuse, but rather than exploding, she fumbles. Things that make her uncomfortable make her visibly so, and it's actually quite easy to throw her off her game by forcing her out of her comfort zone. One of her least favorite things is being touched, and when anyone, especially someone she doesn't know, gets too close, she gets huffy and tries to defend herself by either biting back with words or acting on the sudden impulse to repel them physically. If neither of those work, she'll run.
..Plots?: Whether first plot happens depends on whether the children are kidnapped as baskets or foals. With the way the information reads vs the prompt ideas, I wasn't exactly sure which one it was meant to be. Also, these plots were written with a mare in mind, but all of them work for a stallion, too, or would be fixed in a very minor way to do so.
○ awkward under presssure [ pre-kidnapping ] - "I like them okay, but I don't really understand them." Mbali is different from her siblings, for reasons she's not quite sure of. She cares about them, but she doesn't enjoy playing with them and feels sort of off-put when they suggest it or even get too close when she's in a mood. At some point before the kidnapping, I'd like her to observe them playing and perhaps they push a little too hard to try and get her to join, to the point she shouts at them and storms off.
○ fall once, get back up [ post-kidnapping ] - "It hurts, but I don't have a choice. She says I have to keep walking." After hurting her ankle trying to escape from Giorgia on the night they were taken from their parents (or on a night she attempts to escape after being kidnapped if the children are taken as baskets), Mbali must attempt to recover largely on her own, as there's little time for rest. At this point she becomes even more self-reliant than before, realizing she must count on her own strength. I'd also like it if her fellow captured sibling happened on her while she was trying to work out her limp so she could tell them off for being too nosy.
○ seek a remedy for weakness [ post-separation ] - "If this is going to happen, what she says, I need to be stronger." Despite her personal attempts at fixing the damage done to her ankle, Mbali will still have a weakness in it even after it's fully healed. Once the family is split, pre-murder, Mbali will seek out a healer, a unicorn, only to find that their magic can do nothing to ease the lingering pain or help her walk with strength again. This only affirms her belief that the only one who can truly take care of her is her.
○ mistakes are a family business [ post-separation or post-murder ] - "... I'm sorry, but I don't know how to care for anyone but myself." Either after their father's murder or alternately during the temporary separation from Giorgia and Bly, Mbali comes across a stallion who works his way into her life somehow. Kids happen, rather accidentally, but despite her discomfort, she decides to give motherhood a try. She is not good parent material, however, and after spending some time with the foals, she realizes she doesn't want to and doesn't have the capacity to properly raise them because of her past experiences. She either abandons them with their father (if he sticks around) or to the elements (in which case they'll possibly be found and adopted by one of my own horses who's adopted before).
○ my past, my future [ post-murder ] - "Even though I never thought this would happen, it has, and I must deal with that." Sometime after the death of her father and the abandonment of her first set of children, Mbali comes across someone who, for whatever reason, takes an interest in her. He or she would have an already established and happy family, preferably with foals, to introduce her to. When the foals got too close to her, interested in checking her out or playing, she would start to grow uncomfortable and eventually freak out some, accidentally hurting one of the foals or breaking something that belongs to them, anything to spark a sudden realization in her: it was a good thing she ran that night, she never would have been able to do what Giorgia wanted her to. The upset or injured foal would scare her, and the parents' reactions would chase her off, but after that, she would begin observing families from afar, trying to understand them. And slowly but surely, she would start to grow interested in things besides herself and eventually, hopefully, start to recover from the damage her childhood caused.
..Is this your first entry, or second?: first ..Prompt Response: Prompt #1B Looking back on it now, she wondered if she had made the right decision. Through the dull pain in her leg, it was difficult to tell. Even as it was slowly fought back by adrenaline, the young foal's mind was unable to wrap itself around such a sudden and horrifying turn of events. No surprise there; she was just a small child, after all. Snarky and independent, but still innocent and unseasoned. Not much more could be expected of her.
Struggling to her hooves, she wobbled forward, nearly falling again, but the rush that surged through her kept her going as surely as the shadows played behind her and her pursuer grew ever closer.
It had been a night like all the others, quite routine in fact, and when it was time to finally say goodnight, Mbali did so as she always did. She separated herself, not far enough that she couldn't be seen by a knowing parent, but it was enough space that she felt at ease, like she could be herself even while beyond the waking world. Her appreciation for closeness had waned with each passing day as she grew.
Sleep had come quickly. Under the murky and starless sky, she suspected nothing.
It was no surprise that the sudden and unfamiliar voice that woke her hours later had her heart in her throat. They were nearly touching, this mare's velvet muzzle and Mbali's small, curved ear. The unknown mare whispered something else and it was gentle, urging, but the only thing the filly could hear was the pulsing of blood in her ears. In a panic, she smacked her head against the other female's, dancing clumsily away until there was enough space that her anxiety died down some. The unknown mare made no movements, but the expression she wore was patiently annoyed at best.
"There's no need to be scared," she assured. "I'm not going to hu-"
"Who are you??" Mbali pulled the trigger of her own worried curiosity with a sudden quickness. "What are you doing here? Normal soquili don't scare someone while they're sleeping!" She was stomping her unthreatening little hooves. 'Go away,' her mind begged. The pitiful display was quite obviously not enough.
Not only that, but 'normal' appeared to have struck a chord in the stranger. Her lips were pulled into a grimace now, but still, somehow, her voice was gentle as she spoke.
"I'm a friend. Your parents know I'm here, don't worry." She cast a sidelong glance at where they slept. They hadn't awoken, thankfully. "I need your help with something, it's very important, I need you to come with me."
"No!" Mbali's answer was sharp and quick, just as before. "No, I don't want to go with you, I don't know who you are, leave me alone!" Whatever this mare needed, she didn't care. The little foal cared more for herself and her own well being, cared more about the way this stranger's presence alone made her legs wobbly and her heart worried. It was just as obvious as her pitiful display had been before, but fight wasn't working, the mare wasn't budging, and all Mbali began to think was run. Fight hadn't worked, but surely flight would. Right?
Run. Get away. So she did.
Turning tail, the filly took off, not thinking to continue her shouts or attempt to wake her parents. She was blinded in her goal, and quite sure that the unknown mare was right behind her, running, clipping at her heels. It wasn't true. Giorgia kept a leisurely pace, a bit of a distance, waiting for the perfect moment. The experienced mare was nothing if not unfailingly opportunistic.
In her thoughtless escape, however, the young Mbali showed no such strategy. The simplest of obstacles was what inevitably fell her. A log in the path, quite large and noticeable even with the great absence of starlight. Her leg caught it, and rather than deftly jumping over or going around, she crashed into a heap on the other side. That was when she first noticed the pain and that was when she began to question, or at least attempt to do so, whether running had been a good idea at all.
Giorgia was at her side now as she hobbled, keeping with her her, knowing she was too stunned to run again.
"Now, now. You'll never make it back on your own."
Mbali listened, but didn't want to believe it. The adrenaline was wearing off and the pain was becoming greater again. She limped, but still tried not to believe.
"I told you it would be alright. It would have, if you hadn't been foolish. I can help you, though. You'll be alright. You will."
The topic had shifted. It was no longer Mbali helping the unknown mare, it was the mare helping her. It was a promise that she would be alright, and even if the independent foal didn't actually want any help, she was comforted by the idea that maybe she wouldn't have to hurt anymore. Her mind was bleary as she inevitably stopped struggling and instead leaned for support against the mare's flank. The mare whose name she still didn't know.
"Who are you?" she tried again, eyes fluttering briefly. She didn't want to go with this mare, she really didn't. But even as a child, Mbali realized she wouldn't be released. If she tried to go back to her parents, she'd never make it. The mare would stop her. She would go with this mare and help her if she had to, but only, truth be made clear, to help herself.
"My name is Giorgia."
..Role Your Soquili Will Play?: Mbali will be there when they first confront their father, but she won't be there for long and won't directly take part in any killing. As it's about to happen, and everyone is focused on the task at hand, she'll realize that this is her chance to escape. She doesn't want to kill, it simply doesn't appeal to her, and so she'll turn tail and run before it happens. She won't want to be controlled by Giorgia anymore, and even if she does fear retaliation, she decides it's time to truly take her life back. However, she'll stick around, hidden nearby, to observe what happens. When she sees her father's death, despite feeling very little for him, it will leave a distortion on her emotional well-being that she'll have to deal with as she grows more.

And slowly but surely, she would start to grow interested in things besides herself and eventually, hopefully, start to recover from the damage her childhood caused.
..Is this your first entry, or second?: second ..Prompt Response: Prompt #2 It had happened again, unsurprisingly, and mother was a wreck, as always. As a child, it was somewhat difficult for Mbali to fully grasp what it was that went on between her parents. Why her father disappeared from time to time; why her mother, though she surely must have expected it, reacted the exact same way almost without fail. The distance between Blessita's feelings and her maternal instinct seemed just a bit too wide to allow her mourning to run in tandem with caring for her foals.
Even though at first it had been strange, the little filly found that each time it happened, she minded less and less. Mbali was not touchy-feely, not by a long shot. She preferred a comfortable distance, though she enjoy observing her family and their interactions, she liked keeping to herself all the same. A little less doting from her loving mother was actually a welcomed reprieve.
Cold, yes, it probably was. Even for a child who hadn't yet learned how to be unselfish, a trait that should have come with time, she seemed a bit more self-centered than the others. It didn't hurt her that her mother was often upset or her father often left them for days at a time. It didn't hurt because it didn't directly affect her. It didn't touch her safety or her happiness, at least not that she realized. She was was fine, so everything was fine.
Stepping into the small clearing where they had gathered, she noted her siblings off playing to the left, while her mother leaned against a tree to the right. She wasn't watching them, but in this moment that was not unusual.
"Mother," Mbali spoke softly, looking between her parent's legs to the bush full of berries she was blocking by leaning against that particular tree. It was the only one like it in the area. "Mother, I want some berries."
Blessita smiled down at her, a tired and soulless smile, but didn't move or even speak. The filly huffed a little. "Mother."
In short order it became obvious she wouldn't get what she wanted, and she wanted even less to have to weave between her mother's legs to get a snack. The thought of that sort of contact felt wholly unappealing. 'Fine,' she thought. 'I'll find something else to eat.' Without another word she moved away from her mother, looking back not even once.
She was hungry, so she would find her own food. She would find a way to survive and protect her own well being. Mbali was independent, and honestly, this was the way she liked it.
..Role Your Soquili Will Play?: Mbali will be there when they first confront their father, but she won't be there for long and won't directly take part in any killing. As it's about to happen, and everyone is focused on the task at hand, she'll realize that this is her chance to escape. Alright. Before I announce a winner, I just wanted to say, guys, seriously....I've never held an RP contest before & I was blown away with all the responses that were submitted! Seriously, guys, words cannot begin to express how excited I was!^^ This is definitely an encouragement to continue to hold RP contests, especially for Giorgia & her other future children, should she ever decide to reproduce after Bly!! It was a tough decision - I kept going back and forth in my mind about all of my options, weighing in on how some things would fit into the plot, while other things might not, and I just kept myself running around in circles. Even with the help from my secret-keepers, it was difficult, because ultimately the decision was mine. xDDD I'd love to give a basket to everyone, but alas, this is Umo's only breeding, and there aren't many opportunities for more. xDDD So I guess just keep a look-out, should Pandah & I decide to hold a contest for Giorgia & Bly's foals, as those will also be a part of this plot! Now onto the winner...... Tirokio!Congrats! <333333 This was a close one, let me tell you but in the end, I really liked the idea you have for the foal's personality, because Giorgia wouldn't see that as a weakness, but as a strength, and try to use the foal/future adult in various other paths of destruction. <3 I got a ton of great ideas while I was reading & thinking about your plots, and I'm super excited to get things started!
Now, as a bonus, I'd love it if the following people were interested in customing a child of Giorgia's, or potentially one of Blessita/Umo kids should they randomly happen to have another child before he dies! I really liked your plot ideas & I'd love for you to potentially join Giorgia's crazy-plot family!^^ If you were interested in something for the future, please PM me!
