He had never been a fan of straight out hand to hand combat. Most combatants had fifty pounds or more at him and that not counting the towering height. Wen would be over powered in grabs and grapples and basic was not friendly. It didn't help that his brown Cat had appeared in a wave of chaos and mayhem, shrieking up a storm with the rest of his fair behind him and it had done nothing for his concentration.
Human to creature training and Group had gone better. Not as well as he hoped. He spent the time dealing with a sulking brown flit and bruised ego from his humiliation in hand to hand.

This just goes to show that Jemi is a Brick.
Jemi was having a good day. She breezed through hand to hand combat and felt sorry for Wen knowing that Shar had decided that Wen would do best using an opponent's momentum against them and using throws and twists to bring on the hurt. Punches had been replaced with open hand strikes and a sense of timing to push someone off balance. This sort of combat training was Jemi's specialty and she plowed through it with a sense of accomplishment.
Human against creature was different and thrilling. She grinned, moving on her feet and bothered Wen till he agreed she could practice on Rynsemth. Actually, the words had been more along the line she could try sneaking up on the black. Rynsemth wasn't making it easy on her but it was fun. She still couldn't get a tag on the smug little b*****d.
Group Combat was also familiar. Jemi was use to working with people she tolerated to full blown dislike and usually managed to stuff down the urge to punch someone till after the raid or attack... sometimes not till the mop up was finish but yeah. She could handle it.

Just goes to show that 'Nash is not a warrior... at all.
Nash had fallen half asleep during the Human to Creature lessons and Group lessons. He had only had managed a half heart attempt at best with hand to hand and Harbinger had not been a helpful flit. The gold had taken everything as a threat and spent the time hissing and generally being snappish.
He had decided he really just wanted to curl up and sleep.

Dynamite had been fun. Stealth had never been his forte; he was to loud and brash but the smoke and explosions fit him well. Hand to hand combat lessons went better. As the son of a retired body guard and foster of Locke he was expected to handle himself. He had been in enough fights to have the basics and had enjoyed himself in the studious parts.
Human to creature was interesting and the command aspects and fluid of group combat was different. V'ail had never considered himself a commander. And after going over it... it sounded rather exhausting to be in charge.
