"Ohhhh..." Okay, making suns sounded completely and utterly awesome, Augury had to admit. "How do you make a sun ?" The question was directed to both father and daughter.
Caelia was thoughtful, and visibly not about to move at all - which would not help her own father's vision any. "And who made birds ?" Someone had to have made those, right ?
And from Ankou's apparent ease, this was not the first time his daughter had blinded him. "Creation, most likely." Or Animals, once upon a time, though he had no idea where the little pooka who held that stone had gone to. Which was a shame - his daughter would have likely found the pooka entertaining.

The question was so innocent, and yet Illumin still expected a stab of pain at being asked. One made a sun from agony, desperation, guilt, guilt, guilt-
Yet no pain came, to Light's surprise. A relieved smile spread across his face, and the air around him warmed, like sitting in front of a comforting fire. "It is not so hard. Would you like to see?" In his heart, he thanked the Twin Crown for grace - grace expressed in Echo's song, in the ardency of his mortal followers, in Callisto and Aelius. Grace and expiation, both.
"Oooooooo~" Callisto finally let go of Illumin, slipping down his side to plop on the grass, where she looked up eagerly at her father. Then she patted the grass next to her. "Sit, sit - show, show!" The first was evidently intended for Caelia and Ankou, the second for her father.

OHHHHH. There was going to be a demonstration, that was even better ! "Yay !" Augury outright leaped from her perch to settle down with Callisto, sunrise-colored eyes open wide. This was going to be aaaaaaaawsome !
Well, he had been invited so it probably would have been rude not to oblige, most likely - so Ankou would sit down as well, running a gloved hand though his hair to get most of it out of his field of vision again.

The god smiled, gently. "I will not truly make a sun, for doing so here would cause grievous damage to the world. But a sun-seed, that I shall make, and perhaps make a gift of it to a deity of the skies, to be placed within that realm." He would control the light - make it not so searing, not so bright. Power could be added to it later, when no little eyes that might be damaged were near.
Once he saw that both godlings (and Ankou, somewhat hilariously) were positioned, Light began. He gathered light from the air, pulling it down into his hands, mingling it with his own glow and forming the seed between his palms. The movements were so familiar he could have done this while sleeping - and yet he kept glancing at his 'audience', taking joy in their attention. It was utterly different than his previous sun-making.
Callisto watched, transfixed, then leaned over and clung to Caelia in sheer excitement. "My brother's gonna do that someday!!"

Caelia's eyes were so wide, almost impossibly so, as she watched Light work. This was the coolest thing she had ever seen. Sure, Augury saw every Coolest Things Ever every day, but that took the cake. The light kept shifting and shifting to become a seed in Illumin's hand, and every movement seemed to have Augury's mouth open a little wider as well. "THAT IS SO AWESOME."
Seriously. Illumin probably had the most amazed peanut gallery ever, and her name was Caelia. "Why don't you do amazing stuff like that, daddy ?!"
And poor Ankou clearly had no idea what to answer to that. "Some amazing things are a less noticeable than others, darling."
Though that had been a sharp hit right in the father ego, clearly.

When the seed was formed, glowing brightly but not so brightly as to hurt little eyes, Illumin allowed it to float, suspended in the light over his palm. "There, now. When planted, and given a bit more mana, it can become a sun." His amusement at Ankou's predicament was evident in his voice, but...
"Just because something is easy to see does not mean it is more important," he said, gently. "Or any less 'amazing'."
Callisto clapped her hands enthusiastically, then tipped over backwards, landing flat on her back and tilting her head so that she was looking at Ankou upside down. "Now your turn! Show! Show!"
"Callisto..."
"... Please?"
Illumin sighed.

And Moth's eagerness to have him show did catch the Spirit Guide off-guard. What was there to show ? Leading the dead along was wasted when one could not see them. Making the three able to see them would probably frighten the children. A soul path was probably much too dangerous for the little ones. He could leap though a few trees, but...
Hn.
There were some souls that could easily be seen by anybody. "A trick, then, for a lovely young lady, hn ?"
Then he would vanish though the ground as if there had been nothing there, only to emerge a few feet away. "But friends are better than tricks, no ?"
They would come quickly, one by one, lured by his voice - little balls of what was seemingly light, and yet not. The wisps flitted about curiously - some drawn by Illumin's light, some more interested in the pair of tiny goddesses.
Caelia was clearly well used to this - this ability of her father to ignore that solid things were, well, solid meant that he was a dirty cheater when they played hide and seek, as far as Augury was concerned. The wisps, however, would make her giggle.

"OooooOOOoooh~" Callisto watched appreciatively at the little bits of light; a few of her moth retinue detached from her and fluttered uncertainly at the nearest wisp, as if shy. Two moths actually dive-bombed the wisp coming nearest to Callisto until she made a soft sound that calmed them. "Silly little ones~" she chided, then smiled to show them it was not so serious an offense. They landed on her shoulders, abashed.
Illumin grinned wryly. "It seems she is far more interested in your companions than your vanishing act - which is a good trick, by the way..."
Since the children seemed to be occupied by the wisps, he moved a bit closer to Ankou, gently brushing at a wisp that seemed interested in him. "And how fares the rest of your family? Your brother? Echo?"

Caelia would giggle at the moths' behavior. "Wisps are okay !" They just liked to play. A few of them were twirling around, trying to lure the goddesses in some strange game of tag.
"Not a trick only bound to myself, I will admit." He had more freedom with it with the soul paths, but he'd seen many actually world-walk. Illumin's questions were not easy ones, and did strike somewhat a nerve within the Spirit Guide, who let his frown show openly.
It was none of Light's fault, and he would understand shortly. "Caelia has two siblings, as you might already have gathered. A brother and a sister - Funeral and Crows." Neither domains would be particularly surprising. "They are much like she is, endlessly curious. Isidore is more laid back than his sisters are. Cosine is mostly overseeing the construction of her temple at the moment, but she is also well."
Which led them to the... problematic areas. "Echo left some months ago, and I do not know if she has returned yet. Akakios could tell you more on how his mother fares." He and Echo had always been cordial with each other, but never truly close. "Though to my understanding... The state in which she left was not the best one." Everyone had their limits, and Music had reached hers. "Grief and Guardian I have not seen in even longer. Lament says that his sister sleeps, and that only his mother knows where his brother happen to be."
"Nergal... I do not know. No one does. He remains realm, and does not answer anyone or anything. Not me, nor her, nor his youngest turned eldest." It would be easy enough for Light to puzzle out what had Music in the state he described.

Illumin's light flickered a bit in worry. "I fear I have been too long separated from the concerns of the Pantheon as a whole - as if all the world would stop moving while I attended to my own needs." The god shook his head, self-mocking. Still, he did not truly regret his separation. It had been needed. His 'exile' had at first been self-imposed by his shame at Gehenna, then utterly consumed in the Crown's tasks. It had been Echo who had brought him out of the darkness, but after that, he had needed to focus on his own people, to allay their fears and restore his relationships. He had, in truth, not been ready to move outside that small sphere until his healing was complete.
To hear of the trouble that had appeared in his absence was distressing. "If there is ought I can do, you have only to ask," he murmured.
Behind them, utterly ignorant of their serious conversation, Callisto was now leaping about at the wisps, occasionally flapping her wings and turning her leaps into longer glides and floats. "Catch! Catch!"

"For me, there is little that can be truly be done. Beside hope that somehow, they all stay happy, in spite of it all." His glance went to his daughter, who was too focused on Callisto and the wisps to notice. With Nergal absent, he had to make up with gap left behind. It was easy for anyone to guess as such, and he would not even try to hide it.
His worst fear was that his children would grow up to hate him as much as Akakios hated his own father. He was not sure how he could deal with that.
"For Echo... Well, I hope she will return in a better state than she left. Even then... I am sure the visit of a friend would make her happy."
The wisps would not be caught so easily - flitting teasingly in and out of reach. "Let's catch them, Calli !" Caelia was up on her feet and running after one, certain that her new friend would follow. With Ankou so close, these little souls were unlikely to leave the gardens and lure the two goddesses away.
And there was indeed much playing, and much chattering in between the two young ladies, but eventually came the time to part.
