Maybe it was petty of her to think about what she was or who she was in the past. Obviously she wasn't that creature anymore, but it just hurt so much. The memories right before her death seemed the most vivid and fresh to her mind, as if she were living it all over again. The feelings of motherly protection for her unborn children, the horrible sensation of having something slice right into you, as well as the actual act of dying as your soul felt like it was just about to be snuffed out was all very overwhelming.
Though he didn't understand completely, he understood enough that Cordelia fell back into Rivener's welcoming embrace with little hesitation. She was done yelling, done crying for now, all the smoke girl seemed to be able to do was helplessly cling to the scorpion and sniffle. She was completely exhausted in all senses of the words. Perhaps now was the best time to just let things be and for once, be silent.
And of course things were never as easy as that. Delia flinched a little when the intercom buzzed and another voice joined the room. She clung to Riv tighter even though he floated back towards the door to answer the man. Purple hair, huh...pissed you say? An image of Ebony popped in the girl's head then and she realized just then that her guardian had come to collect her. Ugh, why now?! She wasn't ready to see or talk to the Brit, let alone take a long car ride home with her!
She took a long moment, hiding in the Sigel's side, thinking of what she wanted to do. If she waited too long to respond, Ebby would surely march right up there and break down the door, damn the consequences. Better still, she would do the same thing should Cordelia refuse to leave the refuge of her friend's apartment.
With a long sigh, the basilisk's hold on the boy's arm loosened and her arms went slack against her sides. Head still down, the girl replied unenthusiastically, "I'll go home." That seemingly downtrodden head snapped up and two fierce, steely eyes stared hard into Riv's crimson ones. "But you can't say anything about any of this to anyone! Especially Ebony and the Lab!" She had a feeling he'd mention it to Zul, but hopefully the baphomet knew better than to go blabbing to his human about her and what she'd just encountered. For whatever reasons, she just didn't want people to know. "You have to promise me!"

As much as Rivener didn't like the idea of letting Cordelia go when she was this upset, he HAD said it was her decision. He'd just honestly not expected her to make THIS decision. He would have fought for her, beating Ebs back and administering a dose of sleeping poison or something if he had to, but Dells had made up her mind to go home. Riv made a softly disapproving, uncertain sound in the back of his throat, but he wouldn't argue. The smoky Frei was moving away then, ready to head back and looking so dejected, but suddenly those eyes were hard as knife-points and aimed at his face. His eyebrows raised and he slowly nodded. Both hands eventually lifted, palms-out to pacify her.
"I promise, Dells. I won't tell a soul. Well maybe Zul, because he cares for you too. But I'll make him swear to keep it a secret. He's good at secrets." Smiling faintly, Riv waited until he had a nod or some kind of sign that he could tell Zul, then he moved to her again and pulled her into a tight hug. "If you need anything, you call me. Got it? My number's in the lab list, still. I'm serious, Dells. And if you need to get out of reach for a while you can come here. This apartment is for Raevans only. Alright? No stewing on this."
Bzzt- Mister Rivener, sir, she's going to break the door!
"Alright, alright, just tell her to cool her boots, her girl's coming down! ...God, what a pain your Guardian can be. Alright, come on." He opened and held the door for the Frei, intent on escorting her down. He wouldn't leave her side until she was in Ebony's care.

She could see he wasn't happy with the decision she had made about returning home with Ebony right then, but Cordelia needed time to think things through on her own, in her own safe and familiar space. Though part of her was making plans to try and forget this whole thing had even happened, she knew deep down in her heart that that was but a laughable notion. How could anyone forget something so life changing?
When Rivener made mention of Zul being good at keeping secrets, that should have tipped the basilisk off that something suspicious was afoot perhaps, yet Cordelia was far too concerned with her own dilemma that the small remark escaped her completely and the dark Frei simply took it as how the Sigel wanted her to, at face value. Nodding in agreement, Delia let him pull her in for another hug. His proposal was enough to make her want to change her mind and have him go tell Ebony to leave, but...she just couldn't. After all the Brit wouldn't leave peacefully and despite everything, Cordelia didn't want her hurt or to cause Rivener anymore trouble than she already had.
Smiling weakly, yet somewhat relieved, Cordelia hugged him a little tighter and replied, "Thank you...for everything." To say whether she'd really bother him again with this was highly unlikely. She really felt she had to deal with it herself somehow and she really did feel terrible that she'd already involved him at all to begin with.
It was pretty much silence the whole way back down to the lobby area. On seeing the two Ebony seemed more relieved than angry, yet Cordelia couldn't say anything to her then, let alone make direct eye contact with the human. Luckily Ebony sensed the tensed air about the two and decided not to make a pursuit tonight of the matter, only going as far as to thank Riv for his assistance and all. Cordelia quietly collected her phone from the scorpion and said her final goodbyes before leaving. Who was to say when the two Raevans would see one another again and in what shape the snake would be in when they would? Hopefully it would be in happy times.
