Nema could hear the sniggers of joy and anticipation coming from behind her, and it was a bit contagious. Soon she was sniggering herself, but still waiting for Hana to make her move. From the whispers in the background, she was sure that her next move would be her last. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Dhoru slipping into position, she wasn't quite sure what was going on, though she knew better than to alert Hana to the movement. Instead she waited. That's when she noticed Vanellope, crouched in the shadowy corner. She looked prepared to attack at any moment. OH! So that's what was going on! ----- That was it. The signal! Vanellope watched her sister with every ounce of attention she could muster. She was prepared to pounce on Nema. Now was her chance! Taking in a deep breath, Vanellope scrunched herself up, and lept forward. As she soared through the air, she realized she probably looked pretty ridiculous. But she didn't care, this was too much fun. It seemed like she was soaring forever, before she finally landed with a thud on her sister's back. "HA! GOT YOU!"Vanellope yelped, quickly taking charge of the situation and nibbling away at Hana's ear. SURRENDER! OR FACE OUR WRATH!" It was hard to sound serious, when all she wanted to do was laugh. But she felt she'd found a good median between the two.

Still watching intently, Dhoru caught the quick glance and the flick of an ear that meant Nema had noticed the two of them. He was glad - and more than a little surprised - that she managed to remain composed. He had expected some laughter at a cub carrying out a battle plan.
A battle plan which seemed to be working, as Vanellope launched herself from her hiding spot with a yowl. Now that made Dhoru laugh. "That's right, Vanellope! Great pouncing!", he called.
Of all the things he'd experienced with these cubs, he never thought he'd see Vanellope intentionally attacking Hana.
Still purring with amusement, he started to pad towards the tussling bundles of fur. He wanted to be close by in case one of them - Hana - got too rough.

By the time Hana realized that she was under attack, it was too late for her to get out of the way. Her sister's weight was suddenly on top of her, and Vanellope's teeth were at her ear.
Instinctively, Hana moved with the impact of her sister's pounce. Using their weight to her advantage, she rolled to her back and used her hind legs to push her sister away from her. Hana was, of course, careful not to put too much strength into her kick. She was having a lot of fun, and she didn't want it to end any time soon.
Continuing her roll, Hana jumped back to her paws and leapt at her sister with her paws outstretched. Unfortunately, inexperience hindered her quick thinking and she overshot the jump with not enough time to aim. She landed on her sister, but with her hind paws, which served only to trip her and pull her sister along for the ride.
The two tumbled together, stirring up sand, before stopping in a tangled heap of laughing cub.
Depawsit Sorry I disappeared when we were on a roll - had some issues. Now they're as resolved as they're going to get. XD;

Vanellope was having the time of her life, and didn't want the fun to stop either. But there was one thing she wanted to do, that she hadn't yet had the chance to do. Through all the turmoil with Hana, she managed to sneak a glance at her Aunt Nema. She was standing and brushing the dirt from her fur. That's the first time she really noticed how pretty the lioness was. It made her want to get to know her a bit. If only because she seemed so much different than the other lions she'd been forced to meet so far. As Hana took a flying jump right at her, Vanellope let out a howl of laughter. It abruptly ended as Hana drug her sister along the floor of the den. But after the two finally finished tumbling, she froze for a moment and glanced over at her sister. The amount of dirt and dust covering her sent Vanellope right into another fit of giggles. --- She had finally been rescued, and what a relief it was! Nema waited a few extra minutes, before finally pulling herself to her feet. She shook the dust and debris from her body before making her way over to Dhoru with a smile pasted across her features. "They're so much fun! But I ... I think she almost killed me!" Nema laughed, between trying to catch her breath. "Oh Dhoru, thank you for introducing me to them." Again she gasped for breath, before gazing over at the tussling cubs. "But what about Vanellope? Why wouldn't she play with me?" Although she was hurt, and a little worried she kept those feelings to herself. She didn't want Dhoru to be upset with her.

After their brief tussle, Hana lay on the ground with her legs tangled around her sister's. As the dust still hung in the air Hana could hear her sister's laughter ringing through the den, and at first she was a little confused; but after everything had settled she saw instantly what was so amusing.
The two cubs were absolutely filthy. Both of their pelts had turned brown, and she doubted that their parents would even recognize them. She joined her sister in a bout of giggles that had the two leaning against each other and trembling from the force of the other's purring.
She didn't remember the last time she'd had this much fun. With a glance toward her uncle and aunt, she blinked slowly, filled to the brim with affection.

Dhoru welcomed Nema's flank against his and leaned into her warmth. Pushing his muzzle into her neck fur, he breathed deeply and relished her scent as she spoke of the fun she'd had.
A sudden change in the tone of her voice alerted him and his ears flicked forward. Is that anxiety? Pulling away he gazed into her eyes; while her tone seemed casually curious on the surface, underneath was a hint of fear that was echoed in her eyes. As she finished her questions, he relaxed. While he understood her worry, and thought it justified, he was relieved that he could calm her so easily.
"Don't take it personally, my heart," he began, touching his nose to her ear. "Vanellope is a little timid with everyone at first - and, trust me, it wouldn't seem so bad if her siblings weren't so rowdy. But hey, she'll warm up to you the more time you spend with her, and if today is any indication it really won't take long."
While comforting Nema was his goal, every word he said was true. Vanellope may have seemed shy - and maybe even hostile - but to someone who knew her, she was almost cuddly for a first meeting.

Dhoru's words really helped to ease the tension Nema was feeling, but it didn't help subside her worry. She felt bad for the poor little cub, being so timid, it must be hard to make friends. But at the same time, she didn't seem to have any troubles wrestling with her siblings. So maybe she already had some friends. Nema really hoped so, and she one day hoped that she could call Vanellope her friend and her niece.
With a heavy weight on her chest, Nema nuzzled into Dhoru's neck with a slight purr.
"I really hope you're right about that Dear."
Offering him a slight smile, she turned her attention back to the girls, now covered in dust. Their Parents were going to kill them.
