Otto had to wait for Tenya to return to him from the air as he spotted the Horsemen readying his bow. The blond gritted his teeth, feeling Tenya's presence get closer and closer. The arrow fired, but Ceres, true to her word, deflected the offending projectile completely for him. "Thanks." He grumbled behind his scarf, finally catching the previously airborne Tenya. Once more, Otto spun Tenya several times above his head, standing away from Ceres to avoid hitting her with the six foot weapon. With enough power gathered he threw the boomerang at the Horsemen with a resounding grunt of effort. HP: 60/60 Target: Mengyao Damage: 6 Charge: 0/2 // 2/3 Runics Availlable: Torch

The wind and sand didn't bother him nearly as much as it should have. It was a pleasant change of scenery in his opinion. Anything was better then being cooped up on the island doing God knows what. He had been itching for a mission, and this was the release.
Weapons already summoned, his shield prevented most of the sand from getting into his eyes, but it was still hard to see, and he squinted, looking around him. When the wind suddenly died down, he drew apprehensive, and upon spotting the marble pedestals, he froze. Glowing red runes... what did it mean?
He didn't have the luxury of pondering it further as it appeared they weren't alone here. Horsemen. The voices of Sam and Mark filtered through the headset, but Jake already had his eyes set on a particular horseman. Him.
He didn't care that they were cornered in, didn't care that they might be fighting a losing battle, didn't care that figuring out the effect of these runes and monuments might give them an edge in battle. All he wanted to do, was fight.

Using her blade she deflected the arrow that had come Ottos way, it making a loud 'PING' as it bounced off the metal. "Careful with this one, Otto... he packs a bite." She narrowed her eyes through the harsh light towards Mengyao, remember the last time they had met on the battle field. She was just a trainee back then, so hopefully a little more experience would come in to play this time. Still though, she could see this would at least start off as a Ranged fight, she hoped she could defend a little better this way. She lifted up her blade, ready once more. The instant Kat was though the portal, her sudden loathing of this place was instantly brought back to mind. Sand.. it burned like hell! Had she known they were drafted for this mission, she would have made sure to wear the proper desert attire than what she was wearing now. Adjusting her scarf a little more snugly around her face, she made sure to follow Sam's advice and spread out as to not be cornered with the group.
Summoning her weapons, she scanned the area quickly. It was difficult to determine just how many horsemen were gathered here, so instead, it was just safer to assume to be cautious at all times, and keep her guard up.

He did not have time see where Madison had gone, as there was more than one of them on top of him now. Mengyao gave a feral snarl and whipped around, his hair falling free about his shoulders, unrestrained by the ties which usually held it up in such pristine condition.
There was a wild, fervent look in his eyes, the gold of his left burning sickly bright as he pulled back the bowstring a second time, and then a third.

Oh, of course they would be sent here. Senga huffed as he stepped through, only to be met by blazing heat and an endless sea of dunes, pushing out in every direction like a maze without walls. He took a few seconds to adjust, the sand only becoming a light, gnawing annoyance against his skin and the heat pressed to the back of his mind with ease. He'd grown up in the hot humidity of the War Isle. If he couldn't handle this, he was surely in the wrong place.
It was only a momentary silence for him, a bright, clear moment before -
Home!
The voices all rose in thick tandem, a wave of hissing, crackling, burning desire and anger that flooded his mind and made his body seize with tension. Home, home, home, they continued to chant, howling and whispering and growing into a cacophony of sound that could not be contained. Senga shook his head and willed it away, but it pressed on, louder and louder until -
Until it vanished.
The winds died and the entire atmosphere seemed to shift, leaving them in plain view of other figures outlined against the sand dunes. Human figures. Hunter figures. His mouth pulled into the barest hint of a snarl, and instinctively he turned to look for Shikoba's looming form, even though in his search he found Mengyao instead. He only held his glance for a moment, a split second of undefinable emotion that seemed nearly to consume the angry lines of tension burning into his skin.
Senga shook himself out, the skulls rattling against his skin.
Here we go again, He thought with not resignation but acceptance, steeling himself for the oncoming wave. The voices spiked quietly in the back of his mind, and Senga let the self-control slide just a little, his veins burning now with a familiar anger that seemed to give him a sickening high.
And of course, it was Mengyao who was taking a brunt of the attention, fancy robes and all.
Senga's eyes caught briefly on the strange phenomena of their surroundings, but that would have to wait until later. For now, he would protect what could be protected, and worry later about remnants from the past.
Surging towards the first hunter he could find near Mengyao, Senga lept at Jake, his movements carnal and nearly inhuman.
"Rude," He hissed at the other, claws striking out almost as a mockery of a warning to stay away from the idiot Conquest Noble and fight him instead.

Meng u had one jobCeres hadn't the need to defend Otto in the next barrage of attacks. The slim and short hunter dodged both arrows with one slide to the left and another to the right. His hand raised and he caught Tenya again, licking his lips behind his scarf. <> Tenya cheered again. The teen huffed and spun the giant weapon, hurling it toward the Horsemen once more. It was a good thing that Mengs arrow apparently got.... brushed aside by the wind or something, because on her last defense attempt Ceres ended up tripping over something and falling down, rather embarrassing really. When the attack tore into the conquest horsemen, Jake couldn't help but flash a wicked grin. He was done playing fair. It had gotten him almost killed once, and he had no intention of repeating the same mistake again, but when another horsemen stepped in, striking at him, he spun around, anger flaring.
How dare they interrupt him.
The blades were directed at the white furred horsemen instead.

Of all of the worlds they had inhabited, the desert was not one of her favorite places. In fact, it ranked only just higher than a dwelling composed entirely underwater, (which she had never actually seen nor lived in herself, but was sure that she would despise utterly,) and ranked below a snowy mountaintop. It even ranked below Halloweentown itself, which had been the most boring place she had ever lived, and found to be completely hellish -- and not in a good way. That wasn't to say that it proved to be completely inhospitable; she and her clan could thrive in a desert, if necessary, just as she was sure Famine could thrive in a forest. It was just that the desert was the complete polar opposite of her own home. There were no trees to provide the shelter and camouflage her people were used to, no limbs to perch soundlessly in, watching prey from above. The air was dry, and while the sand moved noiselessly beneath their bare feet, it shifted in a way that a blanket of damp leaves or pine needles did not. Instead of dew glistening on their skin, the sand berated them from all angles as the gentlest wind picked it up, an annoyance Eris herself did not appreciate.
Still, while the skies were crystal clear and provided no cover for those who took flight, there was sky, and therefore they were always close to home.
Lifting her wings, War's Protector held them like a shield a little away from her body, holding back most of the sand which swept in a dust devil around them. Now why would Medea have wanted them to come here? It was a mystery, surely, although when it came to the Death Priestess, when wasn't it? She wasn't even sure that Medea shared her thoughts with Aisa, her own Protector, much less the rest of them. Medea surely hadn't shared her thoughts with her, at any rate. In fact, the longer they stood their, peering out into the storm, the more she became a little irritated, volatile personality beginning to teeter away from calm.
That was, until the storm settled, and she realized that they had company.
Standing quietly beside Invictus, Eris watched as the hunters began to rush towards them, some of their own beginning to enter the fray as well, giving the Gladiator's Arena a purpose. This thought pleased her; she had always held a certain fascination for Rome and its empire, and even more so for the Colosseum they had built. It was the perfect tribute to War, as for once, Conquest had no purpose within it. By nature, Conquest and War often went hand and hand, but this... the colloseum's purpose was naught but fighting for the sake of the fight, for the sake of killing. This time, it was Death and War, who often stood together as well, which was the sole purpose. In this arena, this colloseum made of blood red bone, she was certain the purpose was the same.
It thrilled her. Jet black wings stayed relaxed, poised at her sides, but her amber eyes glittered with enthusiasm. Glancing over towards Invictus as he spoke, her lips curled into an eager smile; this game proved to be fun.
"Mmm, suggester's preference?" she suggested, cocking her head to the side coyly before returning her gaze to the battle.Quote: HP: 150/150 Target: -- Damage: -- FEAR: Y3 Gambler's Chance, Y2 The Chill, Y1... I forget ;;

He could see Senga out of the corner of his eye, leaping forward with a wolfish gleam in those bright eyes of his, and for a moment Mengyao was slightly distracted, clenching his teeth together as his gaze swept across the field, searching for the ones he knew -
- but another blow from the human made him switch directions, and Mengyao gave a feral snarl, a horrible sound escape his lips as he focused his attentions on the creatures trying to invade their home.
They were a stain.
His fingers curled around the wire of the bow so tightly that his already grey knuckles were turning white, Mengyao tilting his head ever so slightly, a cruel, almost mad smile twisting his lips upwards.
"Die."

Otto yelped as he was hit nearly directly by Mengyao's arrow, any attempt Ceres had made to block not doing quite enough. He hissed, resisting the urge to hold the place the arrow had been. One thing he had to be thankful for was these creatures arrows seemed to disappear after entry. Anything Otto didn't have to rip from his body was a small bit of good news. For now, he kept Tenya at the ready... HP: 50/60 Target: None Damage: Charge: 0/2 // 3/3 Runics Availlable: Torch

Senga hummed, vaulting out of the way of the blow. Even though the blades caught in his skin and left a shallow mark, the pain seemed nearly hollow, only a memento that would sooner or later disappear. His wings ruffled, feathers smoothing down against themselves to avoid the sand being kicked up all around then.
The wicked grin was met with a cold stare, and Senga lunged a second time, not even bothering to summon a weapon to aid in his attempt on this ones life. He wasn't worth the effort.

The wind dying was only the smallest of blessings. They were clearly outnumbered, something strange was happening and runes were involved, and thing generally just looked bad. Things generally looked bad on some level when missions were involved, but this was one of those times. Sherry had a bad feeling.
Sherry summoned Armagnac and stepped back, scanning the group of hunters. She hoped to keep an eye on her friends, and everyone else too.

This time, the attack was much stronger, the impact of it sending Jake stumbling backwards, smacking into one of the marble pedestals. Dammit all...
He steadied himself, brandishing the tonfas while glaring at the winged horsemen. They were going to have a staredown.
