It seemed like forever before their lips parted once more, the fire Sigel's breathing was slightly labored as his heart raced in his chest. Gently he released his grip on Xiu's body and he let them float slightly apart, away from each other. Parting is always dear, but only separation would make the reunion sweeter in the future. His cheeks were darker from the rush of blood during the kiss, but the gentle smile was ever brighter on his features. Red eyes looked dreamy as he stared at Xiu's blue ones. No words were exchanged as they knew what each other was feeling without any unnecessary words.
Then Lazarus did the unthinkable.
Just for a split moment, the corner of his lips curled up into a mischievous smile, before he dived onto Xiu's shoulder, planting his lips on the bare skin between the sleeve and Xiu's top. Not so gently he began to suck on the skin, it was soundless, but it will definitely be felt by Xiu. When Lazarus finally pulled away, much to Xiu's chagrin, a red hickey was apparent on the his fair skin.
"This is revenge for biting my shoulder." He chuckled. The last time they made out like this, Xiu nearly tore out chunks of flesh from his shoulder.

The brief instance in time where both Sigels regarded each other with quiet adoration was one that Xiu would remember for a long time. The deep blush of Lazarus’ face, his breathless expression… the way in which he was looking at him…
Xiu found himself dipping his head shyly. Never once in the Sigel’s life that he thought it was possible to be looked at with such love and to be able to return such a gaze with an equally sincere one of his own.
But in that brief period where the eye contact was broken, Lazarus did the unexpected by closing the distance between them once more. Xiu half expected the Sigel to kiss him on the lips again and had even tilted his head upwards in anticipation.
What Lazarus did however, was something quite, quite different. Quick as a flash, Lazarus had placed his lips upon Xiu’s bare shoulder and before the white Sigel could protest, Lazarus had begun sucking on it. Shocked, Xiu gripped Lazarus’ shoulder but was unsure if he should push the Firey Sigel away. The kiss-sucking did not hurt…but it was causing the white raevan to feel awkward. Unsure of the proper response to this, Xiu merely wrapped his arm gingerly around Lazarus’ and stroked his back while the Fiery Raevan suckled on him.
When Lazarus finally pulled back, Xiu was left with a deep red patch on his pale skin. Xiu was stunned. Did Lazarus mark him or something? Gingerly, Xiu touched the spot. It felt warm and wet and kind of…like a bruise. Pale eyes stared at Lazarus with surprise.
"This is revenge for biting my shoulder."
Xiu blushed deeply at that, finally realizing that what Lazarus had given him was known as…a love bite. Admittedly the one Lazarus received had not had much love involved but... The Sigel’s blue rune took on a deep blue shade to mirror his blush. Pressing his fingers onto the hickey, Xiu leaned in to place his head gently on Lazarus’ shoulder and take in the smoky scent of the other. While he could certainly remove the mark with his blood-manipulation skills, Xiu felt that this time, he’d let this heal on its own.

Instead of complaining about the hickey, Lazarus was mildly surprised that Xiu was actually alright with it, even seem to express a sort of adoration instead of annoyance as he touched it in a sort of gentle, loving manner. He couldn't help but smile softly himself when Xiu leaned in to his shoulder as he gingerly wrapped his arm around the white Sigel in response. His day, no, his week was infinitely better.
Lazarus wished that they could just quietly enjoy the lovely day like that. For a few minutes, they actually did, but something was still bugging the fire Sigel's mind. "What was that though?" He inquired curiously. "You were purring like a big cat when I was touching your horns." Reaching up with his free hand he brushed against it again with his fingertip, but just very lightly like a feather. To Lazarus, it looked like Xiu was responding involuntarily to the sensation. Much like when people are being tickled, only instead of laughing, Xiu is purring. "Do you like it?"
For the time being, the picnic was sadly forgotten as they laid beside the Raevans. The smoked salmon sandwich even suffered the unfortunate fate of tumbling onto the ground when they were making out earlier.

At Lazarus’ questioning, Xiu blushed and shook his head. He did not understand his reaction anymore than Lazarus did but … wasn’t his soul rather feline-like in appearance though? Perhaps that could account for the purring but as for the horns…
Xiu gave a soft shudder when Lazarus ran his finger down the length of his horn once more. The touch this time was not strong enough to elicit a loud purr but it did cause the Sigel to visibly relax. When Lazarus asked if he had enjoyed the sensation, Xiu nodded shyly. It felt good to be rubbed like that. A thought suddenly occurred to Xiu. Perhaps Lazarus would appreciate the horn rubbing too? Reaching out, Xiu took Lazarus’ impressive horns between his fingers and stroke them carefully. Would Lazarus be able to feel it too?
…
Apparent not. The only response Xiu got from the Fiery Sigel as he rubbed Lazarus’ horns was a blank stare of confusion. Perhaps…it would be different if he got closer to the base. Sliding his hand along the horn’s impressive length, Xiu began scratching the horn’s base. It would…be kinda cute to hear Lazarus purr…right?

It was a relief to know that the horn rubbing was not unpleasant for Xiu, and that he's not embarrassed by it. The fire Sigel knew that he would be if it happened to him.
Just then, Xiu reached up to rub his horns. Lazarus was not expecting anything though, those troublesome big horns had brushed against and bumped into anything imaginable, and he never felt anything beyond annoyance and a tug on his scalp. And it was no different when Xiu rubbed it. When he was stroking closer to his horn's base, he just felt the pressure on his scalp better than when he was rubbing it further away. He would attribute this feeling like being poked on a long fingernail without touching the fingertip.
"Purr." Lazarus said it playfully to taunt Xiu. "You were expecting that right?" He chuckled as he took Xiu's hand away from his horn. "I don't feel much from my horns, I guess your horns are just made differently compared to mine." Perhaps with more nerves than whatever materials that consisted most of his own horns.
A soft gust of wind blew past then, and the paper napkin that had the sandwich placed upon it got caught in the breeze, fluttering to the grass, catching the fire Sigel's attention.
The picnic!
"Ah!" With an expression of dismay, he spotted the smoked salmon sandwich on the ground and left Xiu's side to pick it up. There was already a few ants crawling about, but thankfully no trails yet. Disappointed, he petted the sandwich to get rid of the dusts and sand, but is unsure if it's still clean for consumption. Although there is like three more slices in the picnic basket, he was still sadden.

Xiu felt his cheeks colouring darkly when Lazarus uttered “Purr”. It was so odd, so silly and so utterly fake that for a moment, the white Sigel was stunned speechless (no pun intended). Then Lazarus grinned and Xiu found himself blushing furiously because…it was true. He had half expected the Fire Sigel to purr at the sensation or maybe even lean into him. Then he’d be able to stroke Lazarus’s hair and…
Ah, it was no use thinking about it because that did not happen. All Lazarus did was say “Purr” with an amused expression on his face. Xiu felt his cheeks colouring once more at the memory.
It was then that the fluttering of the paper napkin caught their attention and Xiu was glad to turn his focus onto something less embarrassing. His expression of relief however, did not stay long. Lazarus seemed dismayed over the fallen sandwich and Xiu felt himself partly to blame for it. He had carelessly placed the sandwich onto the very edge of the bench and it must have toppled when the both of them were…occupied.
Xiu gently placed a hand onto Lazarus’ shoulder, his expression apologetic. Xiu knew that Lazarus had put in a lot of effort for the preparation of this picnic but even a brief glance was enough tell that sandwich was no longer fit for consumption. There were sand and dust stuck to the mayo and the raw salmon; and the bread had picked up a rather generous coating of soil and plant debris from the ground. Gingerly, Xiu took the sandwich away from Lazarus and put it carefully onto the bench’s top. Patting Lazarus on the hand, Xiu indicated that there was still quite a generous spread of food to be had from remainder of the basket.

Although unfortunate, he knew the sandwich was already dirtied from the fall. The ground is not exactly clean in here as grass and various forms of life peek out from underneath the loose garden pavements. The fire Sigel watched sadly as Xiu took the sandwich and placed it away from the picnic mat.
However, Xiu is right, there are plenty of food left in the basket, Lazarus made sure to make extra to be prepared. So that even if there are leftovers, he could bring them back home for Kyou as dinner or something.
Straightening back up, he took a seat opposite Xiu and opened a container with 5 salmon sandwiches inside. "I guess it's a good thing I made extra." He chuckled softly. Before picking it up however, he made sure to wipe his hands on a napkin first, he was patting dirt off the soiled sandwich after all. When he was sure they are clean, he picked up a sandwich from the container and wrapped it carefully with a new napkin. "Here." Lazarus offered it to Xiu before picking one up himself as well.
It was a beautiful day, with the occasional soft breezes and faint smell of spring flowers in the air. Although there were little mishaps, but Lazarus was determined to enjoy their little garden date instead of bemoaning the unfortunate events. After all, they did made out on a bench after all, and the memory of that was the best pick-me-up ever for the Sigel.
