"You do not yet know where it is ?" Oh, he had looked as he could, yes - but he had not found anything, and then he had been whisked off to Aejiss. Everything since then had been a mix of blur and whirlwind. "It must be quite hard to find, then. I thought you would have gone with Endiovar by now."
Well, it clearly was not the case. "Hmm. Have you had more dreams ? Or..." Would Tajne be able to find it ? "Mystery might be able to find it for you. It might be among the secrets he sees." Or it might not. Perhaps it was simply up to the cat's whims.

"We will find it soon enough, I'm sure. Better that Enekpe's time was her own than spent chasing my past." Even with Silence to aid her, such an adventure would doubtless have been dangerous to the little pooka. Yes, it was better that she had played in the gardens, filled her belly, and lived in peaceful bliss.
"It is a matter of happening upon the right tome, I think. We know the mountain's name, and require the world. Still...it is a possiblity to keep in mind."

Kikechum had a point, he had to admit. It was better that En had been able to spend her last moments happy, in peace, and loved.
The little pang he felt at the mention of her name was easy enough to mask. He would allow himself to live the emotion later - to do so in front of the goddess would be rather impolite.
"That is always easier said than done." Finding what you needed in the library consisted of about 10% luck and 90% sheer time - and he had rewritten and helped reorganize most of it ! Perhaps only Knowledge knew for sure what went where. "I should have been looking as well... But I have been quite busy." Understatement of the century, honestly.

"I had noticed. Perhaps I will be of more assistance, now that I can read. ...Although someone else will still be responsible for reaching most of the books, I imagine." She was much bigger, yes, but did not have the height or reach of a humanoid. She could probably climb a ladder, but it would be awkward. "My aoide can help me," she added as an afterthought, lest Lament find it necessary to offer his help. He was...sweet, which was surpising for a young god. He could easily have been a spoiled brat instead.
"It was not your responsibility to do so, and I am grateful for the help you did give. It is understandable that you look to your own affairs. You are a god. There is much for you to do."

It was really in Akakios' nature to help - he was the Sorrow that healed, after all.
If Kikechum had met his mother, also, then she would probably understand this surprising turn a little more.
"Well, I..." He paused. "I will admit that I am still figuring that part out." So many things he was still just learning, and it no longer shamed him to admit it. He was young, after all. "There are so many things I have to deal with at the same time, but I am learning, slowly. I realized that I knew a lot about what was hidden into ancient books... But no so much about the actual life outside of them."
He was not certain why he was saying this much, to be honest. Perhaps the goddess's even voice put him at ease, in some way. Or perhaps the fact that she might understand more than the 'adults' would - not that Animals was a child, but she admitted openly the same things that he had - she had little idea who she was, and had to discover it.

"While my memories are few, I can say with reasonable confidence that books are not my purview, though it is animal hide and glue that bind them." A fact which did not bother her in the least, evidenced by continued evenness of tone. Animals served many purposes in death as well as life, and many were raised specifically for the former. Such was the way of things. "There is much to be learned outside of books and libraries, and outside of walls entirely. It is good that you have realized this. The world will teach you what you need to know."

"I think both are important." There were things only books could teach you, and things one could only learn by experiencing them.
Balance. This always seemed to come up. Individuals would inevitably lean one to one side or another, but to do only one or the other would leave others lacking.
"But to ignore one completely in favor of the other is not a good thing."

"To intentionally ignore one, no, perhaps not. Books do have their uses. But there are many creatures and peoples who do not record things so, and they are not lesser for it - though others will consequently know less of them." Books were only ink and paper. They could only do so much, and sometimes it was precious little.

There were indeed many creatures who recorded and passed their lore in other ways. That was one of the cultural use for bards, and the main reason to exist for storytellers, after all.
"There are indeed, and their means are equally as fascinating." He could not argue against that. "I assume most of the animal kingdom has most of their own kind of story tellers, then ?" Now that the thought had occurred to him, it was fascinating. That most species, even animalistic, had their own lore was not so far of a stretch.

"Those of an advanced enough awareness do, yes, but that is far from all animals. Most animals are simply that - animals, incapable of understanding events as more advanced species do. If an average animal were given the ability to speak, without alterations to its intelligence, it would hardly be capable of meaningful conversation." Kikechum chortled and swished her tail. "Most people would quickly find it irritating, I imagine."

"I see." Lament nodded. It seemed strange to him, and he could not quite understand how those 'normal' animals saw the world around them... But then it likely meant little to them. They did not question, they simply lived.
"I should likely get going soon, though." He was not sure how much longer he could keep tight reigns on what he felt inside, and his lovers were probably wondering where he was. "I could walk you back to the pantheon, if you would like ?"

Kikechum nodded in understanding. Lament was his own god, with his own things to do, and she with her own. "Do not let me keep you. I will explore further, and return in my own time. There is much I would like to see."
"It was good to speak with you, Akakios. Perhaps we will speak more another time."

"I do hope so as well. If you need me, do not hesitate to ask - Endiovar knows what I am up to more often than not."
With that said, Lament took his leave.
