Naturally, upon seeing the DigiCode, Sparky, being the brainiac he was, automatically got out his laptop and started working with it to try and translate the strange language.
Puroromon blinked as his partner became lost to the world. "Hello? You there?" No reaction from Sparky. He tried again, this time flying around in his view. "Sparky, get off the laptop." Nope, nothing. "...Sparky, your hair's on fire, there's a giant purple weasel trying to get in your underwear, and your girlfriend here's walking around nekkid and wants you to have your way with her." No reaction as Sparky just kept typing. Puroromon blinked. "Huh... that last one usually works. He must really want to know what that DigiCode says."
Shadow decided he didn't want to know, instead focusing on BlackGigimon. "So... Moonmon?"
BlackGigimon glared at him a moment before sighing. "Yes, Moonmon. Yeah, I'm interested, but with her it's Sunmon this and Sunmon that... never a moment's thought about BlackGigimon," he muttered bitterly. "I don't really get it - what is it I'm lacking? I know it's not that I'm not strong, since she's not the type to care about that sort of thing like I am. Is it because I'm a Virus-type?"
Shadow just shrugged, his expression darkening slightly. "Probably for the best. Love only causes you pain in the end, just like friendship and family."
BlackGigimon quirked an eyebrow at that. "...Interesting way of looking at it, but you have your opinions and I have mine. Now, I do believe we're here." He nodded to the building where they were supposed to meet, right in front of them.
Naturally, Chicchimon rushed in ahead of the others, chirping something excitedly about new friends until he abruptly and quite literally ran into Sunmon. "Whoopsie, sorry."
Leo smirked at his two feuding digimon before going into "drill-sergeant mode". "All right, maggots, get your digital asses over here and start walking, double-time!" he barked. The two digimon went rigid before immediately and instinctively marching alongside the humans... which was really something to see since one was a talking blob and the other was a missile. Satisfied that the two were going to follow, Leo began walking alongside Christa to wherever their destination was.

Sparky immediately yelped and fell over in his attempt to escape the wet willy, even as Puroromon laid on the ground twitching. "All right, all right, I'll save deciphering the DigiCode for later!" He stood, putting his laptop away before picking up Puroromon and heading inside.
BlackGigimon shrugged nonchalantly, trying not to let show how much he enjoyed talking with Moonmon - he had an image as a viral badass to maintain, dammit! ...Also, he was blushing slightly, but with his black skin/scales/whatever, you'd only see it if you were looking for it. "Probably. I certainly hope so, because I'd really like to get some arms," he answered.
Shadow shrugged even as Chicchimon rejoined the five of them. "Only one way to find out," he pointed out to the two talking Digimon.
"I wouldn't be surprised," Leo answered with a sigh as they trudged through the desert. Fortunately, soon the desert ended, and a few minutes after that they got to the "rendezvous point", as Missimon had so aptly put it.

Sparky sat down next to Evelyn even as Shadow sat away from the rest. "Heya, I'm Jimmy, but everyone calls me Sparky. The metal one is MetalKoromon, and the perverted bee is Puroromon," he introduced himself to the others.
Puroromon looked Sandra up and down a moment. "...You have a very nice figure!"
MetalKoromon rolled his eyes and used his tail to smack Puroromon. "Puroromon, we have all gathered sufficient data already to conclude that you are, as they say, a 'horn-dog'. You do not need to emphasize it."
Shadow just silently headed to a corner of the room, not interested in this little fun-fest.
BlackGigimon blushed harder at Moonmon's compliment. "Handsome? You really think that?" he asked her excitedly before he remembered himself. "Uh, I mean, uh," he cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure after that little outburst, but couldn't figure out anything to say that wouldn't make him seem like an a** to Moonmon... so he settled for a change of topic, turning to the others. "Anyway, for those who don't know, I'm BlackGigimon, the chicken currently trying to make a nest out of the redhead's hair is Chicchimon, and the a*****e in the corner is our partner Shadow."
"Hiya!" Chicchimon chirped cheerfully from atop Sandra's head, having decided to sit there because her hair looked soft.
Shadow just gave his black partner a look. "Was that really necessary?"
"Can you honestly deny that you're an a*****e."
Shadow rolled his eyes. "No, I'm an a*****e and proud of it, that's not what I meant. What I meant was 'was it really necessary to introduce me?'. I was perfectly happy not having people hounding me."
Leo grinned to his new friend, knowing why she was so happy, before entering the room where the others were. "Sorry if we're late," Leo greeted the others as he sat down, causing them to turn their attention to Leo and the still-bickering Frimon and Missimon. "I'm Leo, and these two are Missimon and Frimon." Sparky and BlackGigimon greeted him, repeating their introductions for his sake.

The boys all checked their own digivices out, Shadow pointedly ignoring Sandra. Shadow had a black digivice, Sparky had a golden digivice, and Interestingly enough, Leo's digivice was half blue and half orange. Shadow frowned, studying the device. "So... how does this thing work?" Cue the conveniently timed digivolution-glow from all three of their digivices.
"MetalKoromon digivolve to... Hagurumon!"
"Puroromon digivolve to... FanBeemon!"
"Chicchimon digivolve to... Hyokomon!"
"BlackGigimon digivolve to... BlackGuilmon!"
"Missimon digivolve to... Commandramon!"
"Frimon digivolve to... Liollmon!"
Once they were done digivolving, the rookies examined their new forms, BlackGuilmon in particular enjoying his somewhat intimidating new form and flexing his muscles... just to check them out, of course, not because he was trying to impress Moonmon or anything... okay, so maybe he was trying to impress her just a little with the new form's muscular physique.
Sparky, meanwhile, was rapidly typing away on his laptop, making all the notes he could on the Digimon and how the Digivices seemed to work. Then a window suddenly popped up in the middle of his screen with a message on it, causing him to blink in surprise. "Huh? That's odd..." He quickly and silently read the message:
The Fallen seek to rise; the Purified seek to purge the world. Beware them both, and protect the Digidestined of Light and Darkness.
Sparky blinked. "VERY odd..." he murmured.

BlackGuilmon gave her a smirk that was surprisingly charming, given it was coming from a vicious black dinosaur. "You look good... well, you did before, but you look even better now," he told her.
Meanwhile, Jimmy watched the other Digimon in amusement. FanBeemon was trying in vain to get a look under Christa's and Evelyn's skirts, with Hagurumon making sure he didn't succeed. Commandramon and Liollmon were brawling (again), and Hyokomon was excitedly showing off his new sword.
Shadow narrowed his eyes, his expression going from apathetic to icy. "If you value your life... Get. Off. Me." His voice was soft, but with a hard edge to it that made it all the more menacing - and every bit of his body language indicated he really would hurt her if she didn't leave him alone.
Leo was amused at first as he watched the interaction between Shadow and Sandra... but that quickly changed to worry at the look Shadow was getting in his eye. "Sandra," he warned her, "I'd give him some space if I were you... I don't think he's bluffing."

However, apparently Shadow either didn't fear the Digimon or just plain didn't care if he got hurt, because he just stood, turned to face Lunamon, smiled a cold, heartless smile, and spread his arms wide, as if to say, Go on, hit me, I dare you. "And if I was?" he taunted the rabbit mockingly.
BlackGuilmon's gaze flickered between his partner and Lunamon, desperately hoping it didn't come to a fight - he didn't want to have to choose who to support. He'd have tried to break the fight up by now, but with his luck he probably would've just gotten dragged into it.
Hyokomon waddled over to his partner and tugged on his pant leg apparently oblivious to the tension in the room. "Shadow, I know Sandra upset you a little, but dontcha thing this's goin' overboard? Jus' apologize t'Lunamon n Sandra already," the little swordsman... chicken... thing chirped, glancing at the angry Digimon a little nervously but managing to find the courage to stand its ground.
Shadow shook his head, glancing down at the Digimon coldly. "Why should I? An apology implies that I regret what I said." He then returned his gaze to Lunamon and Sandra again and smiled again. "So come on, bunny - if you're going to attack, go right ahead."
BlackGuilmon stared incredulously at his partner. "...Shadow, do you have a death wish or something?" He then paused as he noticed Shadow tense up ever-so-slightly in reaction to the statement, though you'd only notice it if you were looking for it. 'Wait... are you telling me that maniac really does have a death wish?!? I WAS ******** KIDDING ABOUT THAT!!!'

BlackGuilmon just sighed in reply to Bearmon's question, wishing he knew - he could actually see a glimpse of Shadow's disappointment at Lunamon's refusal to attack.
Jimmy frowned in dislike at Shadow's actions before putting his laptop back away and hurrying after the others, his partners following.
Leo, however, gave Shadow a look that was half intrigued and half disgusted before turning to follow the others.
Shadow said nothing, instead watching them leave before glancing over at BlackGuilmon, noting that the black dinosaur was obviously conflicted. "...Go ahead; I can take care of myself."
BlackGuilmon glanced over at his partner in surprise before sighing again and nodding, not willing to insist on a partnership the boy obviously didn't want. Besides, he figured that no matter how bad Shadow was, he wouldn't abandon Hyokomon. Hurting the bird's feelings was like killing a puppy - if your heart was anything less than pure unadulterated evil, there was something about the bird-like Digimon that made you shy away from hurting him. With that in mind, the black reptile scurried after his beloved and the others, quickly catching up.
Hyokomon blinked before looking up innocently at Shadow. "Guess it's just you and me now, right? Best of pals!"
Shadow was silent a moment before he shook his head sadly. "No, Hyokomon... it's just me."
With that, Hyokomon suddenly felt a sharp pain around the neck area; he managed to stay conscious just long enough to see Shadow place the Digivice on the bird's chest, a surprisingly regretful look on Shadow's face.
Shadow watched the Digimon pass out, then sighed. "Sorry... but you don't need to be exposed to the darker side of humanity. Not yet." With that, he stood and walked out, taking a different direction than the others.

(And with that, Shadow's status is as of now unknown. xd We now tune in with the rest of the Digidestined.)

Meanwhile, outside and hidden in the woods, a rather ugly-looking silhouette was watching the whole thing."Looks like the Boss was right; the Digidestined of Darkness has pushed away the others." He turned to two much shorter figures behind him "All right you two, you know the drill - divide and conquer. You handle the goody-two-shoes brats, and I'll get the Dark Child." With that, the figures went to do their separate jobs.
BlackGuilmon had been walking with the others for a few minutes when he heard something. It was a bit hard to make out words, but... he paused and strained his ears...
...Just in time for the rather large group of Goblimon to burst out from around the group, grinning maniacally as they faced the eleven Digidestined and their partners plus who-knows-how-many green creatures.

Jimmy immediately began sticking close to Evelyn, trying to stick with at least one fellow Digidestined and defend her if necessary even as Hagurumon and FanBeemon wreaked havoc on the Goblimon, Hagurumon turning them against each other with its Cog Crusher attack and FanBeemon finishing off any stragglers with its Gear Stinger attack.

"Pyro Grenade!" A ball of fire shot past Sandra and Lunamon, deleting a Goblimon that had been about to sneak up on them. BlackGuilmon quickly showed himself, glancing between Sandra and Hyokomon. "Why the heck is Hyokomon knocked out?" the black dragon asked, baffled. Then he noticed the Digivice on the bird Digimon's chest and let out a groan. "Oh no... why does my human partner have to be such an idiot?" he muttered, having obviously guessed what had happened. "C'mon, I can track his scent, so let's hurry before he does something stupid."
Ogremon, meanwhile, was out back looking for Shadow, who had apparently vanished. "How hard can it be to find one brat?" he grumbled.

Leo just gave her a small, reassuring smile as he grabbed a knife and sliced open the throat of a Goblimon that had managed to get to them. "C'mon, do I really strike you as the kind of guy who'd leave a helpless civilian unattended?" he asked her, watching as Commandramon and Liollmon tore into the Goblimon, filling them with bullet holes and claw gouges respectively.
