Alas sadly the modesty the denims provided wouldn't last as Rep removed them, left wearing the ill advised speedo he usually wore while swimming. The only mercy was that he'd decided to wear anything at all. He glanced down at his tattoo as it was mentioned with a fleeting frown. "Aye. It was ******** lovely once upon a time. One day I'm going to get hold of one of those ******** horsemen and I'm going to make them ******** pretty." He was a Life hunter now, maybe he could investigate exactly how much ******** agony a fear core could stand before it shattered. Did horsemen even have fear core? It would be ******** fun finding out.

He sauntered down to the water and waded out before fluidly diving under to acclimatise himself a bit, resurfacing with a grin as he swam on his back like a ginger otter. "Swimming's like my ******** favourite thing."

...A speedo. Candace caught sight if it and nonchalantly looked away before she could be considered staring.

Really, Rep? Really? Candace both wanted to look for curiosity's sake and didn't because..well...it was Rep. That could be awkward.

"That sucks. I've thought about getting one for a couple years I've just never figured out what I would want. It's got to be something I'd regret years later." Candace followed Rep out to the water, entering it considerably slower than the man did. She'd never gone swimming at this beach. Rep dove in and she continued to just wade in; their methods differed, she was a pansy when it came to the cold, even cold water. "Really?" Candace couldn't help but smile as she watched Rep swim around, finally diving down under the water. She came up a few feet away, pushing her bangs out of the way. "So you're like a wee Scottish merman~." Candace teased in her best attempt at a Scottish accent impression. "Is a speedo really so wise? There's s**t living in this water," said the woman in the bikini.

Rep raised a brow at Candace in a playful don't push your luck gesture for her comment on mermen. "I'm no ******** Zoolander or anything man. But aye, I've always liked it, water doesn't scare me, even here like, knowing the s**t we have around the island, I'm no bothered. When I go cliff diving I do it in the scud even, you dive at the wrong angle you lose your skivvies in the water." He swam in a lazy effortless circle, as if lack of motion was unthinkable. "Besides, I could wear a suit of armour, it wouldn't make my fear shield any stronger, and then I wouldn't be able to feel the water on my skin." He was a creature of tactile sensations, the world intensely felt in every way, almost hard wired to his brain without filters in the way, it was why he was so easily overwhelmed by random contact or too much stimuli. Water was soothing and under the surface was a kind of sensory deprivation it was hard to find elsewhere. "I don't see you wearing Victorian long johns either." he said with a smirk. "No that I'd endorse it if you did, you've got a great body, for a woman."

He gave her a thoughtful look. "Tattoos on darker skin are hard to pick. It's already fancy on its own. You don't need to draw attention away from freckles and s**t like that."

PostPosted: Wed May 01, 2013 3:37 pm

The look Rep gave her simply got a 'what?' look right back. She hadn't said anything wrong, had she? She hadn't called him a lady again. Touchy touchy. She tread water beside him, glancing toward some cliffs off in the distance. Cliff diving, huh? But what did he mean by 'in the scud'? She was about to ask until Rep mentioned losing skivvies. Okay, that word she knew. "Still sounds like fun.." She had gone swinging into lakes but never like...cliff diving like Rep probably meant. It could be fun! She would just have to tighten her bottoms so they didn't come undone and float away..it could work. She wanted to try it! "Take me cliff diving? I've never done it. I want to try~." Candace swam closer to Rep, pouting like a pleading puppy. Pleeeeease? Please please pleeeeeeease?

She couldn't help but smirk at Rep's comment on her swimsuit, draping her arms over his shoulders from behind and lazily clinging to the man. He had said he wouldn't flinch from her but how far could she take this new allowance to touch him? "Excuse you, yellow bikinis were all the rage in the eighteen hundreds. Victoria herself wore one with frills and ribbons. And thank you, I work hard to look this good." She pushed off Rep and floated on her back now, closing her eyes with a little smile. It did feel nice to be in the ocean, relaxing too.

"Like I said, I've only thought about it. I think not knowing what to get is a clear sign I don't need one." She shrugged and then lifted her head to give Rep a concerned look. Away from freckles? He hated them that badly? "Don't say that, you're attractive. There's nothing wrong with freckles...I think they're cute." Candace flicked a bit of water in Rep's directions. "You don't need to draw attention away from anything either."

Rep wasn't sure how keen he was to bring people into his cliff diving, for him it was an oddly spiritual experience, climbing the sheer slippery rocks up to their dark summit and then the leap of faith and the tumultuous chaos and chill that was the waters below. Getting other people involved would be inviting them into a small world that he liked to consider his own. Other people could never be trusted to be as gentle with what was important to him as he needed them to be. "Maybe sometime." he said vaguely. "Like I say, I dive in the scud, I'm no too happy asking someone else to go in the buff just to come diving with me and I'm no happy being the only person like that either." He figured the nudity aspect of things would put her off anyway, even if as far as he was concerned, it didn't make any difference if women were clothed or not, they didn't have anything much to look at, and it wasn't anything he hadn't seen before either. "Plus its dangerous and s**t man." He shrugged.

When she clung to him he didn't freeze up or resist, the old reflexes were there, anxiousness and tension stirring like a chained animal. But he held the chains, the moment passed with incident and he felt all the stronger for it.

"And there's plenty wrong with freckles." he said gruffly, cuteness wasn't a trait he sought to cultivate. "Being ginger is like, a serious issue where I come from, I can't change how I see it." She got a smirk and a flick of water back at her. "There's plenty I need to, I look a ******** poor man's phantom of the ******** opera."

PostPosted: Thu May 02, 2013 3:39 am

Maybe sometime? Candace rolled her eyes. "You sound like my dad. 'Maybe another time, Candy,' was his way of saying no chance in hell." She didn't grump about it for very long, waving a hand dismissively at his supposed concern with her feelings on being nude. It made no difference to her, it's not like she really had anything to hide and there was no one around. Plus thanks to that goddamn alternate universe kingdom thing they'd already seen more of each other than they probably ever wanted to. Thanks, thanks for that. But it was the warning that it was dangerous that made Candace laugh. Cute! "Rep, I've fought dragons, giant beasts, been shot with arrows, stood atop a giant titan the size of a small U.S. state, nearly drowned in the Antarctic, fought creatures made of pure Insanity, been set on fire, and that's just a couple missions..I really don't think jumping off a cliff into the ocean is going to be the most dangerous thing I do this week." She was grinning and shaking her head. Idiot. He was talking to the wrong person about danger.

She was impressed that he didn't shove her off him. Candace could understand not wanting to be touched, she hated strangers just touching her without warning, so she'd always respected it when she'd been let known Rep's aversion to it, but being able to do it now felt very...nice. Like he finally trusted her. It made her happier than she would ever admit to anyone.

"There's nothing wrong with it." Candace laughed. "You're not in Scotland, are you? Okay, so maybe cute wasn't the right word. What do you want? Oh, Rep. If you were single and into women I'd totally do you right here and now~." She told him in a playfully seductive tone, though she didn't even try hiding the humor in her voice. It was probably the most ridiculous thing Candace had ever said to Rep to date. "You look fiiiine. Jerry and Harrison have facial scarring as well, remember?" She reached over to push wet hair out of Rep's face to get a good look at his new scars, humming thoughtfully. "It's not so bad. But hey, you could wear a Phantom of the Opera mask and totally rock it."

"Well." he said, "If danger and nudity doesn't bother you then we could if you want." He didn't need to take her to his cliffs, he could reserve his own place while still sharing a bit of the diving with her. There were plenty of good diving spots after all, the island was a really nice place - if you ignored the fog and the people on it.

He did give her a surprised look for her reassurances about the way he looked, the urge to flinch returning even more strongly as she touched his face, acutely aware of the scars. He wanted to argue that Harrison would look fantastic in anything and that he'd never known Jerry not to have scars, but neither were strong arguments. He nevertheless couldn't keep the surprise off his face at her saying she'd sleep with him were the situation different. "Now I know you are just ******** winding me up." he said with a smirk, though he felt better for it regardless.

PostPosted: Thu May 02, 2013 2:29 pm

"Yay~!" Candace threw an arm up and laughed, more excited that she'd won than the actual cliff diving itself. Rep's denial had become a challenge. You don't just tell Candace no, Rep. She would fight tooth and nail to get her way. "Lead the way, sir."

Rep's surprised look was met with a smile, the woman raising her eyebrow and tilting her head. Problem? Was he not expecting honesty? Silly man. "What? Was it something I said? You're cute." Candace teased before she started to swim back to shore, fully intending on making Rep keep his word and take her someplace they could go diving. "I can only wind you up if you let me~!" Candace called over her shoulder in a sing-song voice, "but I'm being honest. You're not unattractive, freckles and all, and even the scars don't change that." She shrugged, standing when the water became too shallow for her to swim. "They're just part of who you are now. Don't get me wrong, the day I get my first scar I have no doubt I'm going to freak the ******** out and probably cry about being ugly no matter where it is, so I understand...but you don't need to worry~. Really."

Rep shrugged, what was the worst that could happen really? And he'd been feeling like some diving ever since he'd been transferred, some distraction from his current predicament, adrenaline to replace the creeping tendrils of depression that slowly took hold in his thoughts. He swam back to shore with lazy strokes. "I'm kind of easily wound up whether I want to be or no." he said with a wry smirk as he got out of the water.

"Mibbey one day I won't feel awkward as ******** in my own skin, like that smug arsehole in blue kingdom. But I'm no holding my breath. Thanks though, it does actually mean something to hear that I don't look too ******** offensive on the eyes." Because deep down it was inflicting himself on other people that bothered him most.

Clear of the water, he shook his hair like a wild animal and strolled up the beach, he left his denims where they were, he didn't need them right now, and no one would steal them. He headed in the direction of the ridge of looming cliffs. "These ones are pretty decent when the tide is right, the water's way ******** deeper than it looks."

PostPosted: Mon May 06, 2013 9:34 am

Ah, so Rep wanted to be more like his 'kingdom' self as well. Candace could relate. "Give it time. You're opening up better, that's a start. I'm proud of you." Her tone wasn't patronizing, insincere, malicious..nothing. It was warm and pleasant for once. See what happens when she isn't antagonized? Candace was smiling until he shook his hair around and got her in the face with the splash of water everywhere, the woman giving a squeak of protest while laughing and raising her arms to block some of it. "You're like a dog!" She teased with a grin before she followed him along the beach toward the cliffs.

"I'd like to hope it's deep." Candace checked her rings to make sure they fit securely on her fingers. Sure, she could just summon Atropos back to her if she fell off in the dive, but she'd rather not need to do that. "So did you used to do this back in Scotland? I've never been other than to bail you guys out of jail but...must be ******** cold.." She didn't know much about Scotland's climate but she knew it wasn't some kind of tropical paradise.

Rep gave Candace a faint smile. Anyone else he'd have gotten bristly at the comment they were proud of him, rankled that he didn't need their approval. But with the mist huntress he was starting to realise that she actually meant what she said, even if it was phrased in what was - to him - a patronising way. He was probably pretty ******** rude to other people himself, he thought. "I ******** hate dugs. I think Halloween must ******** train them up or breed them or something. I've been attacked by them way too many ******** times."

The path led up and up a well worn trail through the clinging jungle to where the trees trailed off - some of them actually looked like they'd been chopped down by a very large axe. "It's super deep. And nah, I didn't do much outdoor swimming in Scotland. Like, sometimes in summer we'd go out to Loch Lomond and s**t, go for a dive off the piers, but the water was so ******** cold it'd knock the air right out of you. It's baltic. All the swimming I did was in the indoor pools."

He wandered to the edge without the slightest concern for the height, checking there was no rubble or anything in the way of the jump. "I ******** love diving. Its like. When you hit the water. You don't know what way is up or down, there's no senses, no sight or anything. Its like dying. And every time you hit the surface you kind of like. Re-learn what it means to be alive and how good it feels." his expression faltered ever so slightly. "Sometimes I forget."

"Well!" he said, taking off the speedo lazily and setting it aside. He didn't really feel naked when he was, it felt like with his tattoos and scars that he was always dressed even unclothed. "You don't need me lecturing you on jumping, if anyone's got some ******** serious legpower around here, its you. Just mind like. Make sure you have your palms flat on top of each other above your head so they hit the water first rather than the top of your head. I didn't really realise how ******** important that was till the time I was off balance a wee bit and nearly blacked myself out."

He smirked. "But you probably know that anyway." he made a playful bowing gesture at the edge. "Ladies first?"

PostPosted: Sat May 11, 2013 4:19 pm

Candace kept up with Rep through the worn trail they were walking along, glancing at the chopped down trees with a little smile and a raised brow. "It seems we have a lumberjack on the island." She said quietly, listening to Rep's story. So it was as cold as she thought it would be. But what really interested her was the insight he suddenly gave her on how diving felt, and why he loved it. Her amused smile faded while she just watched and listened, genuinely interested in what Rep was saying. That did sound like quite the experience, she wasn't quite sure how to feel about the 'like dying' part, but there was a point where Candace was thrown off. "Forget what?" Whatever it was it was something that bothered him. Candace couldn't help but need to know.

Rep continued on like nothing had ever happened. Fine then. Another time. Candace chuckled and removed her bikini without much hesitation. Unlike Rep it did feel stranger than she would admit for Candace to just undress like this out in the open, but she got over it quickly. She gave the man a grin when he said what could probably be considered a compliment. "Yeah, I think we get enough lectures. No need to tell me how to use my legs." She stepped near the edge of the cliff and looked down, whistling at the sight. That was a long way down. "Sounds like something I need to be aware of all the time anyway. Do you have any idea how many times I slammed my head on the ground before I got some of those jumps I do right? ********' hurts on solid ground."

The bow won Rep a chuckle and she had to bite back the argument of 'fine, I'll wait'. She'd already called him a lady once, Candace wasn't going to push her luck. "I could insist age before beauty, but I like being first."

She stretched her arms up over her head a moment before she looked down at the water below them again. Candace took a deep breath in to calm the nerves she was having now that she was actually looking at it. One could say oh hey it'll be fun, it'll be cool, awesome, fantastic, all they wanted but actually seeing it had her thinking what was I thinking. Candace, the woman all about keeping control of herself and her own life, was handing control of her senses, and well..her life, to the ocean below; she could easily hit something, drown, hurt herself, anything, but here she was about to do it anyway.

What was I thinking?

But there was something kind of exciting about the idea despite the fear.

Okay. She was ready. Candace took a few steps back, wanting to get the most out of this jump; the further she was from the shore the more comfortable she would be. Finally she took those few quick steps toward the edge and shoved off, closing her eyes and diving down hands first as Rep had warned her. Before she knew it she was hitting the water and it was exactly as Rep had said, she didn't know which way was up or down, and all she could hear was the rush of the water around her and the pounding of her own heart. She didn't open her eyes, she just floated there for as long as her breath would allow. It really was peaceful in here.

Atropos' gentle voice disrupted the quiet. Candace, you can't stay down here forever. Candace frowned and cracked an eye open to look for a source of light. Which way was up? She had been turning while she was down here. How long had it been? Oh, there was the light. She twisted and turned in the water until she had righted herself and swam up to the surface, finally gasping for air when she could finally do so without drowning. It had only been a few seconds, it felt like so much longer than that.

"That...that was amazing!" Candace called out, laughing helplessly and pushing hair out of her face. Oh, her hair tie was missing...well, s**t. Oh well, she had more of them. She panted lightly, a hand against her chest over her heart. Damn, even fights with psychotic dragons made of Fear and Insanity didn't get her adrenaline going like that.

Naked women were very much a staple part of Rep's life, to a degree which might well have been enviable to some other more lecherous men. He preferred nudity ultimately, but not for the obvious reasons. When people wore clothes they presented who they wanted to be and often subtly lied about themselves through it, bodies couldn't tell lies, but they could tell stories - he'd learned a lot from the cuts, injection scars and other injuries so many of the women he'd been with sported. Candace though was how he remembered her from blue kingdom, she had a very feline confident poise regardless of what she wore.

"I can only imagine man." he offered in response to the falls, he'd taken his share of tumbles, but generally he had Tracey to steady himself, most of the shock absorption took place in his arms.

Standing back he watched the mist huntress dive and couldn't help but admire the natural grace to her leap once she overcame the initial hesitation. It was thrilling to see someone else go through the familiar emotions he experienced when he dove himself. He waited to make sure she surfaced away from the cliffs themselves before moving to the edge and eyeing the dizzying drop. He knew it was safe, but that had never halted the primal twist of terror looking down evoked.

He leapt out into the cool air and left the nausea behind, slicing into the surface of the water with practised ease. Beneath the waves there was the usual chaotic tumult, complete swirling blackness and ancient cold that tried to strangle the air from his lungs. It was liberating and terrifying and forced him once again to fight back the panic reflexes that said he would drown here.

He was the master of his own ******** fate.

Reaching out, there was a moment where Tracey's memories bled over and he had wings. He arched his back and swam, up and up and up until he broke the surface and took a blessed gasp of oxygen. It was like being reborn every single time.

"I told you." he said, sweeping hair out of his eyes and treading water. "It's better than any ******** rollercoaster in the world."

PostPosted: Sat May 18, 2013 10:41 pm

Candace watched Rep dive down from the cliff, swimming back away from where it looked like he was going to hit the water. She tread water and waited patiently for the man to come back up, smiling when she spotted that familiar head of red hair break the surface. He really did look more comfortable doing all of this than she'd seen him doing..a lot of things. She swam closer. "Yeah, actually. I guess for once you're right~." She teased with a smile. "You were so reluctant to let me do this with you. I liked that though, it was nice." 'Fun' didn't seem like the right word for it anymore. It was exhilarating but oddly calming at the same time, it was hard for her to put it into words. Nice would do for now.

"I was reluctant cause it's my escape. This is where I go, or places like it, when I can't ******** cope. People think I like being the centre of attention. I don't." He swam lazily in place, the cool water somehow reassuring, his earring blazingly bright surrounded by its natural element. "The more people I'm around the more thinly stretched I get till I ******** snap like elastic."

"I need this, and I was worried you'd be like. Maybe you'd be flippant about it. Its important."
