Okeanos cared little for her warnings, and he perhaps cared even less about how her demeanor shifted so negatively.

... Okay, he did care, but only because it drew that wide, ear-to-ear grin to his face, spreading as she attempted to threaten him. Was she so serious about not being touched? It was almost quaint, really. Like the slippery naiad he was, he slid his hand out from her grasp, and proceeded to move it to attempt to prod her in the side, not a single care of her threats in his eyes as he laughed aloud.

His fingers danced in the air, even as they drew away, his whole body drawing away to follow. He was not withdrawing, however, moving to her other side once again as if he had never moved in the first place.

She talked big words, and perhaps he was more aware of it than she was, amused that she would dare to tell him he would find out how little she cared. Of course, it dared to be the opposite. If she truly did not care, "Why do you continue to react?" Perhaps it was the question of the day, the wide grin as he stared into her eyes more unnerving than it had been before, more severe than it had been before as he attempted to bore into her psyche.

"If you did not care, you would not react. But you care too much. You are incapable of doing what you wish because you care too much."

It was a rather astute observation for someone who seemed to be too far in another reality to truly understand, but yet, he was more grounded than his often elsewhere expression would tell, even as he glanced away from the green-eyed demon and off and into the horizon.

...She was going to kill him. Just wipe that smug grin from his face. No. Calm down. He's strong, slippery and probably has a power. Fighting isn't smart. It isn't- When his hand went for her again, she slapped it away with full force, a snarl appearing on her face. What an inconsiderate, stupid naiad! Her body turned when he moved around her, eyes fixed on him. "You're right. I don't do everything that I want. If I did, you'd be over this cliff. But I do most of the time. And without anymore warning, she slammed her body full force into his chest with her left shoulder and arm. With her entire body weight she expected to tackle him, but hurting him would do just as well.

OOC: I left it open ended because I can only assume how strong he is/quick to brace himself ^_^;

She was doing an awful lot of talking, Okeanos knew, and it sounded like she was preparing to do something as she was talking. If she did whatever she wanted, he would be over the cliff? Okeanos was not afraid of the cliff--frankly, he was a naiad, falling into water would hurt, but ultimately, he would not drown or anything of the sort. However, he didn't feel like needing coordinate his dive while falling off a cliff so he didn't hit against the cliff face...

And that was why he was ready to sidestep when she suddenly lunged at him, pressing towards his chest. Or, at least, that might have been her intention, but that certainly wasn't Okeanos' intention, slipping his foot out instead as he sidestepped in an attempt to simply trip her.

Had she not just seen the muscles in his arms?

Interesting.

Okeanos slipped behind her, tilting his head to watch the results of what he had attempted.

"Did you really think that would work?"

When she looked at him, she might find that his grin was almost mocking now, a more sinister note in his expression than had been there before.

OOC: ^__^; Sorry it took. Cressy muse wasn't giving me anything but swears. sweatdrop She's never going to make any friends.

BIC: Imagine her surprise when her shoulder went through air, her foot catching on something below. Thankfully she was already curled, and the trip brought her momentum down. She easily turned it into a roll, her wings tucked in. In one smooth motion she was back standing and her green eyes were on him again. "It was a thought." The green pae growled, rubbing the left shoulder which had hit the ground. It wasn't hurt, simply sore. She wasn't used to this sort of confrontation as it had only happened once before. The female was used to simply being left alone after a quick short words. Perhaps he was surprised that she actually attacked, because in the back of her head she still thought it was stupid. But if one were to think Cressida was all bark and no bite...well, they always found out the truth about that one. She felt her fist clench and unclench. The good news from her 'attack'? Now they were further apart, which meant she could easily avoid him if he tried to touch her again. Bad news...she had really wanted to hurt him. "Consider that my last warning. I don't like being touched."

The girl may have had something of a bite, but to Okeanos, she was basically a yippy animal: someone who could do a lot of yapping but their attempt at backing it up was just a small bite. And sure, small bites hurt, but...

It was obvious by the look in his eyes that he wasn't particularly bothered by these small bites.

Perhaps Cressida was not used to this kind of confrontation, but Okeanos certainly seemed experienced enough. It was the way he had danced around her and so easily kept poking at her despite her continued barks that might have made that obvious. Of course, Okeanos, for his own part, did not particularly care what the reactions were that she was giving off so much as he cared about the fact that she continued to react.

That in itself seemed to be what was bringing the grin to his face. The fact that she was reacting so extremely was a bonus.

The sinister expression remained as he decided not to keep the distance she caused, taking the larger steps he was capable of to advance on her. He stopped right in front of her, grinning, before stepping around her and swirling around to take his stance behind Cressida. His fingers danced in the air, before he simply leaned forward and danced his fingers closer to her antennae again. Closer, closer, closer ...

And then not, letting his fingers just dance in the air.

"You keep saying these words, green-eyes. But tripping over yourself is a rather ineffectual warning."

If she turned to him, he was grinning once again.

How could she have missed? The male was barely a few feet from her. She really needed to start training how to fight. When the male walked towards her, she started walking back. But by his larger strides, he somehow still managed to catch up. A slender eyebrow raised at the naiad as he seemed to be openly mocking her warning. The way his fingers danced in the area, his irritating words...he was poking fun. At her. She had more than enough of the fish-brained, impolite, snide jokester. If she was a lesser female, she would simply leave. But Cressida being Cressida, she'd rather be beaten down physically than emotionally. "It was a warning. I haven't given out a punishment yet." Big words for a little girl. A mutant, powerless, teenage girl.

Frankly, he was openly mocking her warning.

Okeanos felt he was under no threat, or maybe he did, but he honestly didn't seem to care either way, eager to continue to poke at the stingerless wasp nest for as long as she continued to remain in his presence. Even as she continued to grumble at him, his eyes danced in delight, a rather visible show of how much every word she said captivated not the fight or flight part of his mind, but the curious one, the cheerful one, the one that wanted to cause problems and laugh at what was left in their wake...

He just wanted to know what would happen...

It were big words for her, and Okeanos at least seemed somewhat aware of that. When she made her remark, he couldn't help his open laugh, shaking his head almost as if he pitied her for just saying that. She was just a teenager. What power did she have against a strong naiad adult? He knew better.

"A warning from a green-eyed little girl? You are green in more than one way, my dear."

His grin was as wide as ever, especially as he let his fingers dance near her hair, nearly, but not quite, grazing her curls.

"Why do you continue to remain! It is a wonder on its own..."

The male had effectively ruined her day while she seemed to make his day an utter delight. He showed as much while he laughed right in her face. She slightly softened her anger by knowing he underestimated her, thus thought her actions were amusing. He probably knew he could defeat her, just the fact that he was an adult gave him an edge. But if he underestimated her...if he thought she wasn't dangerous...

Well. That would be his problem to deal with. Overconfidence was the downfall of many a creature.

Again she slapped away his hand from her fiery red hair. "Why do you? And getting so close to me, touching me..." Suddenly a disgusted look crossed her face. "I don't swing that way old man." Did she honestly think he stuck around because of a crush? No. But perhaps it would convince him to stay away from her. Either that or it would simply amuse him further, the bat-crazy naiad.

What?

For a moment, Okeanos knit his brows at her, almost as if he couldn't believe she was seriously asking that question. Was she so overconfident in her own abilities that her only explanation for him continuing to pester her was that he liked her in some way? Okeanos tilted his head, glancing up for a moment as if he was actually pondering the issue, letting it work over his fingers, his mind, his thoughts...

Before his gaze suddenly snapped back to her. "No."

The response was simple, though the laughter that followed it? ... Okay, perhaps just as much. The grin that danced in his eyes as he moved so close to poke a curl and then didn't, placing his hands back behind his back and holding them together like he was a soldier. "Rather odd that you would think I am attracted to adolescents when I have given no hint of the sort."

Softly, he bit the inside of his lip, looking out to the horizon.

"Do you think you are as great as the sun?"

It seemed a perfectly valid question to him after the remark that she had given.

He actually seemed to consider the questions posed. Ew. ***** hint? I've insulted you, meant to do you harm, and basically let you know at every turn that I don't want you around me. And yet you continue in morbid fascination to touch me. What business does a grown pae have touching a teenager?" She enjoyed that slight hint of irritation he gave off at the turn of conversation. It was just a hint, as the confusing naiad continued still to laugh, but it was there. "It's not vanity. I simply can't grasp why on Gaia you continue to stay in my company." The thought that Cressida could regard herself so highly was almost laughable. She was a sparkling green, shamrock tailed, antenna-ed mutant. How much self esteem could she possibly possess? The stares she got simply for entering a room...She knew it wasn't due to attraction.

"You don't get it, do you?"

The question was very sudden, but then, Okeanos tended to act very suddenly, snapping his head towards her once again and letting his eyes bore into her very uncertain soul. They searched, but seemed to find nothing, darting around before giving up on their attempted search with a stare straight into her face.

"The reason why I continue to poke you is because you continue to react. Most people would leave, but you continue to persist."

Okeanos tilted his head.

She claimed to have no vanity, and yet her first explanation for why he persisted was that he must have had an attraction to her. It was quaint that she thought that way, really. It almost reminded him of himself as an adolescent, except he was more aware of himself and less inclined to continued insulting of people who were more powerful than him, and more inclined to leave when he knew he would not succeed; much like animals, they too stopped things that hurt when they repeated the efforts, but she seemed to lack this ability as she continued on and on and on...

Perhaps she did not remind him of himself after all. Perhaps a bizarre version of him from another world, perhaps this "Gaia" she spoke of. What was she even referring to? The place they lived on was called "Telrunya," he knew that much to be true.

"Do you never tire of being shocked?"

... What did that mean?

((Gaia is from Grandma Tartara blaugh A few of my pae will actually say 'Everlasting Nightmare' as well. Her version of Hell from her religion. Just in case you were wondering))

"You annoy me simply because you don't understand me?" What was wrong with this naiad? Like poking a dead animal with a stick, his curiosity was bizarre. But he stopped his inane pursuit to touch her. Why did she hate being touched...now that was a question she didn't fully understand. The jest of it no doubt rooted in some self defense mechanism, but beyond that she couldn't recall a time of actual abuse. She had never been physically hurt. "You don't even know my name, but you want to know the complexities of my personality. You truly do lack any sort of social etiquette."

What was wrong with this naiad was probably a good question, but she wasn't likely to get an answer from the naiad himself. He seemed to think there was little wrong with his behaviors.

It seemed his questions left the adolescent in a brief amount of thought, and Okeanos patiently waited, interested to see what kind of response she would come up with. His curiosity was immense, a burning pressure on the back of his brain, almost begging him to poke the girl some more until she finally actually snapped with more than just some lousy attempt at shoving an adult. He did not think she could do, but he was eager to find out, and that eagerness danced in his eyes, in his fingers, in the toes that he wiggled in the grass...

It seemed that she attempted to divert the subject, a response that drew a snort of laughter from the naiad. She had no answer, so she diverted.

"And you don't know my name, and yet you have attempted to shove me towards a cliff. I would say you have even less social etiquette."

And he would refute her diversion.

For a moment, he paced, for a moment more, he paused, and then he looked at her once again, leaning in close, tilting his head as he observed her features.

"Do you ever tire of being shocked?"

The same question, again.

Tartara Seabreeze
Makes sense. XD Okeanos is the confused one, haha.
PostPosted: Mon May 06, 2013 4:30 pm

Eh...he had a point. It wasn't even something new for her to do. She was known to shove the occasional random pae around. At his refute she ever so lightly smiled, seeing the humor in it. He ticked her off to no end and was certainly the strangest naiad she had ever met, but his response was amusing. Then he was back to being a nuisance again, his face leering close to hers. Her emerald eyes narrowed. "Not any more than you tire of being a pest." For once she gave a straight answer to the male, vaguely wondering if satiating his curiosity would make him leave since it was the reason he was still there.

Was Okeanos surprised that she finally gave a straight answer?

Not in particular.

He seemed to store that answer in his head, though, backing up from her for the moment while he pondered over what she said in his head. Tire of being a pest? A pest? He was no insect. He chuckled under his breath at seemingly nothing, eyes darting off to the horizon once again. His eyes studied the sun, eyes squinted, looking for something but unable to find it, a 'tsk' under his breath as if he was ashamed even as his lifted a finger to trace the outline of the sun.

He moved his hand back and tapped his chin, studying the masterpiece of a sky as he spoke. "Do you ever tire of your overconfidence, and your unnatural hostility to people?" That might have been one of the most coherent things he had said since he had started speaking to her, looking over his shoulder and down at her face.

"You are so confident in your ability to defeat me that you keep talking that you will, but yet, you have tried, and when I bested you, you continued to make excuses. You act like this area is yours, even. The isle is yours. Open your eyes, and realize your world is not your grim playground. This is my home, Cressida."

He smirked.

"Did ya' ever think that's why I questioned your presence?"
