Coop listened carefully, her name really did appear to be fitting, Anaon Nox was a Night Goddess of the Underworld with her glowing green eyes and the brutal looking skull on her rump. “It is very fitting and perfect,” he smiled at the mare, hoping to put her more at ease. “What is the name of the detective and do you know where to find him?” Coop had not heard of a great detective, it just seemed so preposterous, what kind of cases did he solve? He shook his head to rid himself of the negative thoughts, if Anaon said that he was good at what he did, Coop felt that he needed to believe her, since he was now going to take a trip with her to the hot, sandy desert. “How did you hear about this flower in the first place?” He could not help himself, he was fascinated in the idea that such a flower existed, since it did, why were there not others who knew more about it or would tell of its uncanny abilities?

She blushed at his words, she did not feel as if her name fit her, but she loved it anyways. Instead of saying anything she gave a small laugh and half of a real smile to the pink stallion. Her expression became more serious as she contemplated the Cerynei’s questions, “His name is Wystan. He does not live in one place, so it may be difficult to find him, but usually he finds those who need his help. It is quite eerie. Perhaps he has friends that keep an ear to the ground waiting for something juicy to come up?” Anaon knew that it was something she would do if she was in that profession, have a network which passed along information. “I heard about it from a traveling medicine woman. She was quite nice and told me some fantastic tales. I asked her if she knew if there was anything to stop burns from happening from flaming hooves. She took me aside quite conspiratorially and told me about this flower hidden in the desert.” She began to walk in the direct she was originally heading, “You still have the chance to back out now, will you come with me or will you stay?” Anaon had to look away, for she knew if he saw her eyes they would reveal a pleading expression.

She had put much thought in what she was about to do, the mare had researched the flower, asked questions and came to the conclusion that her best bet was to find this mysterious mystery loving stallion who considered himself a great detective. Coop was a little amused about the whole idea but he made a promise to the mare and to himself, he truly wanted to see her happy and smiling a carefree smile. He would go with her even if it meant traversing the dangerous desert, finding flowers of myth and legend, and talking to a detective who may or may not know where their journey should begin. Anaon had begun to walk away, heading west toward her unknown destination. Her words surprised him, did he not already tell her that he would go with her, to ensure that she not wallow in self-pity? His eyes widened when she looked away, why would she do such a thing? Then it dawned on him, she did not want him to see what was crossing her countenance as she waited for him to decide. A wide smile appeared on his face, making his vibrant green eyes sparkle; he galloped to catch up to the mare, “Ana, I already told you that I would take this journey with you. You can’t get rid of me that easily.” With his words the two of them set off on a journey that would change both their lives forever.
