Rep couldn't help the warmth he felt towards Al, and for some reason, it irritated him. He was meant to be a minion, an asset to whatever kind of gang Rep could manage to create on this island. He couldn't afford to get soft on something else. No, it was about control. "What do I do for fun? I play games, I cliff dive. I train." He tried to push away the mental pain associated with training, all that effort only to be told it was insufficient. "I didn't go anywhere intentionally, it was a spar that ended badly."

"What kind of games - and, cliff diving?" Al lifted his head off his hands with a look of astonishment. "Wow, that sounds terrifying. What's it like?" He plopped his head in his hands again looking as if he were ready to hang on Rep's every word, "Oh oh. Can you like... retell the spar to me? I bet it was amazing and with explosions and was Tracey there too? I bet you both looked epic."

"Games on my laptop. Mostly s**t that's pretty old by off island standards now, I just got Skyrim and a few other games. I play them with B0nez. My fiance's weapon. He's a ghost." he explained helpfully. "As for cliff diving. Well. I like it. It reminds me what's important in life, like. Survival."
Al got an odd look for the request to have the spar retold. "It was a terrible spar, it was my own fault. It went into the fight in the wrong state of mind. I wasn't focused and I was fighting a ranged person I couldn't underestimate. I ******** up. And he got angry."

"Holy s**t, can I play too?!" He wanted to try diving too but was certainly far too chicken s**t to even suggest it at this point. Instead, he eased himself from his excited outburst into a frown and a shake of his head. "And modesty too. You are amazing man."

At the mention of modesty he couldn't help but chuckle. "Naw man, no modesty. Even the best fighters need to be able to like, know when they ******** up. Or you never get better."

"I hope I earn it someday. I loved games but it seems s**t to do here is surprisingly few and far between," he relaxed visibly at the edge of Rep's bed, watching him a moment. "By the way... about that... how do I get permission to make Nuru like.... real too?"

"It's called W-Golem testing. Weapon's golems. The labs pay people to try out their weapon golems and you get them for a certain amount of time a week depending on rank. It's handy if you want a bit of time to yourself, or if your weapon's itching to ******** off and hang out with another weapon, as the case with Tracey usually is. You'd just need to speak to some people in life. I don't know if trainees have clearance for it."

Al smiled excitedly, "I can't wait for you to get out of this bed!" He almost wanted to climb in Rep's bed to jump around. "There's so much we gotta do to celebrate too, okay?"

"I can't wait either." he said with an indulgent grin. "And yes, lots of things. I just need some rest for the time being, I'll be up and about before you know it." It helped to distract himself like this. "And then we'll find ways to divert all that bloody energy."
