Where There's Smoke There's Fire Type
"Woah!!!!" Terra exclaimed, as she slid down the hill, barely avoiding turning her descent into a complete tumble. She seemed to be doing a lot of falling lately, though that one time involved a hole opening in the ground, so it wasn't really her fault, but still, she didn't want to make a habit of it. Sniffing the air, she remarked, "Is that smoke?" She didn't think any legendaries were causing a ruckus, again, but it didn't hurt to check. Anyways, where there was smoke, there was likely fire. With the nearby wooded region, she thought it would be wise to check.

Get out of here! Cinder exclaimed as she chased after the fleeing mamoswine. Go back to the mountains where you belong! This is my forest! Not that it looked much like a forest, now. The area surrounding her home didn't look much like a forest anymore the trees having mostly been burnt. Despire being a trigger happy fire type, the damage wasn't due to her. A recent freak storm had burnt the area and, finding the place to her liking, she had set up shop. Launching another ember at the ice type, she slowed and turned back to head to her place. Mumbling to herself, she stated Knocking over trees in my forest, even if they were all burnt up, how dare he! It was possible for her to be civil, but she didn't take kindly to those that dared to cause destruction around her home. She was quite oblivious to the newly smoldering patches of ground that her blasts of fire had caused, though.

Terra was taken aback as she approached the clearing. It was obviously the result of a fire, but not one that was burning at present. Still, she smelled smoke. As Cinder returned from chasing off the mamoswine, the source of the scent become clear. Wisps of smoke arose from the small fires that emanated from the larvesta. In fact, any bit of ground that she waddled over, seemed to start smoldering as well. Terra had no idea if the pokemon had caused it, though it wouldn't have surprised her. She was not one to jump to conclusions though. "Um, hello," she called out to the pokemon.
Cinder popped upward, shooting a blast of flame as the poke child called out to her. She had been lost in thought and, due to her distraction, the other girl startled her. Who goes there? she demanded.
"Um, I'm Terra" she answered, "I am a burmy."
Burmy? You don't look like a burmy.
"Well it's kind of a long story, but to, um, sum it up, I found a star and it turned me into this..."
A star made your leaves turn to sand? That doesn't make sense... Cinder wasn't that familiar with burmys, all she knew was that they wore leaves. And what are you doing in my forest? You aren't planning on causing problems are you? Intentionally trying to seem intimidating, she let loose a burst of fire.
The intent wasn't lost on Terra, though, she felt she could use the girls obvious lack of burmy knowledge to her advantage. "It makes perfect sense, though," she replied, "Sand isn't flammable, why would a fire burmy wear leaves?" To emphasize her final point, she too unleashed a blast of fire, a result of hidden power.
This was quite a shock to Cinder, she didn't realize there were fire burmys! There was so much to learn, but still, this girl was a kindred spirit. Maybe she could make friends with her? It wasn't everyday that one ran into another pokemon that was both fire and bug type! Still...she had to make sure the other girl didn't plan on taking over her territory. The charred trees really were quite beautiful. Well, if you're a fire burmy, I guess that makes sense. Um, you weren't looking for a new home were you? Cause this is mine.
"Oh, no, I was just doing some exploring; getting a better lay of the land. So this is your home? It looks nice." She didn't really mean it, and while she preferred her sandy beach to the forest, she did prefer a living forest, to a dead one, but it seemed harmless to complement the girl's abode.
Really? Thanks! I found it after all those storms!
Terra was glad to hear that; it was nice to know that the girl hadn't caused this destruction, she just preferred living in it. "Well it was nice meeting you, I should really get going though." The answer to her question found, she thought it would be wise to leave, before the girl had a chance to realize that she wasn't really a fire type.
Oh ok, well it was nice meeting you.
"Likewise."
As Terra departed, the larvesta girl followed, at a distance. After the burmy made it up a hill, Cinder was about to turn around and head back, when she noticed something on the ground. She didn't know it, but it was right where Terra had fallen earlier. Looking closely, she examined the object. It was a clear glass bottle that seemed to contain a clear liquid. Carefully, she pulled off the top, which, do to her lack of proper hands, was rather difficult. Sniffing at the opening, her nose suddenly burned. Scrunching her face, she carefully pushed the lid back into place.
What could it be? she wondered aloud. Then it hit her. A while back, she had been wondering around, when a human had passed by. He drank a clear liquid from a bottle, maybe it was the same thing? What did he call it... After a few moments, she remembered. He had called it liquid courage! She didn't feel any need for it now, but still, she didn't want to waste it. Carefully, she picked up the bottle and carried it back to her home.
