Again, the way she moved poorly was what Shun could expect, seeing how she was a spanking new novice and all. The fact that she parried his strike with her boot was.. not entirely what he expected however. He was hoping for a parry with the blade, but it worked for now.
At least she was semi prepared. He noticed that his first strike had sliced against metal rather than flesh, after all.
Keeping an eye on her movements, he noticed her swiping for his legs. He jumped up to avoid this then aimed a kick for her head while he was still in midair.
"Dodge."

When Shun said dodge, she was expecting a blade…and instead of dodging, she tried to parry…but she couldn’t parry against a boot.
Regardless Hel took that boot to the head.
She let out a grunt as she was hit, and rolled backwards. Using the momentum, she rolled herself into a standing position, and just dove right back into it. She lunged at the reaper again, this time striking out at him with both knives in the same direction.

Shun watched as she got back up quickly after getting kicked in the face more or less. She was now coming at him with a sort of double strike. He shifted just enough out of the way to the side, then lashed out to try and slice one of her arms.
"Move."
It would be difficult to parry a move that close and that quick. Hopefully she would realize this.

Hel, to her credit, finally listened.
She knew she couldn’t retaliate fast enough, so though she had lunged in, the ghoul dropped to her knees, sliding across the ground underneath Shun’s strike. She braced her weight on her fists, and tried spinning, attempting to knock Shun off of his feet with a sweeping low kick. Okay…so apparently this wasn’t strictly knife fighting…but that was okay.

Good. She listened finally. And then, Shun found himself hitting the ground as she leg swept him. With a grunt, he quickly rolled off to the side and got himself back to his feet. Not bad. Though, they were far from done just yet. Once he was up again, he lunged forth.
"Parry. Parry and Counter."
His strikes came fast. First, he aimed a slash towards her midsection once more, but it was followed up with a downward stab towards her shoulder.

Damn! She was gonna try to make a swipe at him while he was down…but no such luck.
Hel shot back up to her feet, crouching, and she clung onto the words Shun was feeding her. She was too slow on another hit to the mid section, and gritted her teeth, but she was able to parry the strike to her shoulder. She warded off his blade with her own, and like he instructed she slashed out at him in return with her other knife.

She was slowly starting to catch on. Shun shifted a little, though her counter attack came a little too close for comfort. It had just barely sliced against his shirt. A fraction of an inch closer, and he would have been cut. And thus, he decided to drop the verbal cues altogether.
Letting out a breath, he took a step back, then went onto the offensive. His first move, was actually a feint; something to draw her attention. It looked as though he was aiming to slash towards her right, but he soon swiftly shifted gears and made an upwards strike towards her torso.

Hel was grinning widely…already pretty proud of herself for cutting a knick into Shun’s shirt.
Still rather narrow minded…Hel, of course, did not react well to a feint. She moved to try and parry her right, and forgot that she was holding a second weapon (which Shun had reminded her earlier). Hel hissed as she heard the sound of her layers getting torn…though luckily since he was still going for her torso, he hit her chain mail again. Damn. If she hadn’t worn that today…she’d be leaving riddled with slashes.
So she missed that parry…counter!
Hel brought the knife she had forgotten to use upwards in a vertical slice.

Shun had managed to land another hit. It certainly was good that Hel was wearing what seemed to be chain mail. Taking note that she was coming in from an up wards slash. he stepped back and crossed his arms downwards to block her from finishing her attack.
Pushing down, on her arm, he was quick to retaliate, this time it was a stab towards her closest shoulder.

Hel’s face made a ‘wow’ expression as Shun crossed his arms to block her strike…
Noted and tucked away for future use! “That was pretty Jackin’ sweet!” She commented, grinning, and she knew what was coming as soon as he pushed down her arm. Hel managed to back flip out of the way, and she was quick to come up at him, slashing at him diagonally, and followed that up with a horizontal slash from the other.

Shun raised an eyebrow at her reaction. Sweet? He wasn't sure how that was the case. And so, he just shrugged it off and focused back on the task at hand. When he failed to make contact, he prepared for her counter. He stepped out of the way of the first, but didn't quite move far enough back for the second. The Reaper felt a bit of pain as the tip of her blade grazed his midsection. It was a very shallow cut, but it was still something.
"Che."
Shaking his head, he aimed one kick towards her leg, then struck twice with the same blade to make two swift slices. One in one direction and then in the opposite as he brought it back around.

“Booyaka!” Hel cheered, managing to get Shun again. She took the small victories, okay?
Hel kept forgetting about all the things though, so when Shun kicked her leg, she buckled to the ground, letting out a surprised sound, and just out of instinct, raised her arm to shield her. Now it was Hel who was hissing as his first strike sliced her arm, easily drawing blood. Luckily there was a split second of a longer gap between the next attack, and Hel flipped one of the daggers up to parry the sweeping strike. She was sorta stuck where she was though, and tried to push the grim back with the knife that had parried.

Bringing an arm up wasn't entirely a horrible idea. It at least kept him from getting her torso. Though, as he was pushed back, Shun didn't fight against it, allowing him to fall back and roll to go along with the momentum. Once his feet touched the ground again, he lunged back forth with startling speed. He twisted his body before making the moves to try and get in a rather powerful stab.

Luckily able to push Shun back, Hel leapt right back up to her feet as well. Her adrenaline was pumping from a good battle, and as she watched Shun come at her with new intensity, she knew she needed to step it up as well. She yelped, and did the first thing that came to mind.
She brought up both knives in an ‘X’ shape, and tried to catch his own knife before it stabbed her.

It seemed Hel was picking up on things nicely. Granted, she should have used her arms to block his rather then try to catch the blade considering his trajectory. It did cause his dagger to slip some, but he was quick to follow up with a slice towards her leg, using his other hand.
