For Roland the bond was less of a flow of information between weapon and hunter and more a dance to a song only he could hear. Even as he started to stretch Sylvia began to hum and sing softly in the back of his mind, her song matching the pace of his movements. Each move was longer then Jordan's a full motion that carried into another, at no point was Sylvia ever still when following Jordan's motions.
When it was finally time to swing he stepped towards a near by tree bringing Sylvia across slashing across the trunk before bringing her back around and pulling her overhead slashing down the middle creating a crooked X in the tree with one last swing bringing Sylvia up and across again making an odd little star shaped mark.
"Sadly... I don't think Sylvia is meant for rocks."

"I'd have to agree with you," Jordan said, quirking a smile. He stepped back for momentum, then brought Ferros up and around again to come crashing down onto the rock pile, the sharp sound of stone cracking under Ferros's head sounding out again. Ferros rumbled, pleased. I am strong. We are strong.
Yes you are. A moment of silent, mutual satisfaction with their work, then Jordan said to Ro, "We're better for destroying things completely than for precision strikes."

Roland chuckled at Jordan's agreement as he crushed another rock into rubble. He turned back to his tree spinning Sylvia about chipping away at the base of the tree before spinning her up high, hooking her blade and stopping his motion. It was only a half second pause before he tugged hard on her slicing through the tree branch.
"Sylvia just kinda, picks things apart. She can cut, stab, trip, maybe not smash but she's pretty well rounded I think."

"Gotta have all types for a balanced team," Jordan said, chuckling. He slammed Ferros into the rocks again. "This is surprisingly therapeutic. Blunt-force problem solving isn't always appropriate - says me, Ferros, yes, we've had this discussion - but it sure feels good."

"Yup, not gona lie though I once wanted a gun weapon. Still Silvya is a nice weapon." He paused in his swinging to watch as Jordan smashed things into pieces. "Sylvia likes to sneak and get big boils to do the work. She's fine with how we do things now for the most part, just complains when I make mistakes." He chuckled at Jordan, "Knew it would help you relax a bit."

"That always seemed less personal to me," Jordan said thoughtfully. "Though maybe not, since they're as aware as all the other weapons and create their own projectiles. But I'm just better at hands-on. Every time I've had a gun or trapping gun, I miss more than I hit." He shrugged a little. "Ferros is never happy when I'm using something else either. He gets kind of jealous."
I do not. The dragon huffed.
That is a huge, huge lie, and you know it.

"Less personal, but safer, I'm not good at fights, I'm still not, trying to get the whole idea of it without getting my a** kicked." He shouldered the scythe and shrugged a bit. "The weapons are all intelligent so it doesn't matter what it is as long as you work together?"
He moved to inspect the shattered rocks a bit.
"Sylvia gets a little huffy, but she knows I don't plan on using another weapon. Learning her is a challenge enough let alone trying to wave something around like Tracey or Ferros."

"You're going to get your a** kicked a lot. Spars and real fights," Jordan said, giving Ro a sympathetic look. "That's all of us, dude. You do as much damage as you can, or you do the job you're there to do, and that's going to involve getting some damage in return. Why do you think half of us who've got these coats on are scarred up like we are?" He tapped the thin lines of the quadruple scar that slashed down across the left side of his jaw and neck. He brought Ferros smashing down on the pile of rocks again, then hefted the hammer to rest over his shoulder. "Don't be ashamed of getting your a** kicked. That's how you learn to do better next time, and every fight you can walk away from is a victory, even if the victory is only that you didn't die." He grinned. "Then we don't have to waste time and budget training someone else."

Roland seemed to sag at the comment about losing a lot. This was a valid point but it still wounded him to know he was unable to win a single spar. He shifted about adjusting his jacket revealing the scar Rep had left him. "Yeah, I know how we get them... mistakes. Poor judgment on how to handle things." He shrugged a bit and watched as Jordan crushed another boulder.
"It's just, embarrassing I guess? I look at you, Candace, Rep, I see people who can handle all kinds of situations and I can barely hold up in a fight. Just worries me a bit ya know?"
He rolled his eyes at the 'joke' which was also a rather sad fact that someone dying would cost a lot of time and effort to replace. Roland knew it for a fact thanks to a lot of time in the life labs. Still he shrugged a bit, "I just, I finally have something more then myself to worry about." At this he smiled a bit, color rising to his cheeks. "Don't tell Melvin but." He looked around a bit the grin and blush getting brighter, "I spoke to Nevada."

Jordan shrugged. "When I first got here, I had a hell of a time hitting what I aimed at. You get better. Sometimes you just can't avoid what's hitting back."
He smiled at the next thing Ro said. "I take it from your expression that it went well?"

"You mean its actually possible to miss something with Ferros? Did they grow wings and fly before you could squish them?" He grinned a bit, the idea of Ferros in his current state not being able to crush something was rather amusing to say the least.
Ro only nodded at first in response to the question, "Yeah, she was going through some stuff with Otto and we had a bit of a miss understanding but it's all cleared up now. She's been using her Christmas gift again finally too."
Both of them actually.

"In my defense, he was about a third of his current size. There was a time I could summon and use this guy indoors, believe it or not." Jordan patted the hammer's haft affectionately.
I can't help that I got more awesome, Ferros said smugly.
Yeah, yeah, Jordan answered, amused.
"That's great. Congrats, dude." Jordan offered Ro a fistbump.

"Wow, tiny Ferros, I wonder how big Sylvia will end up."
<< I am a ghoul! I will never be 'big' thank you! >>
Roland chuckled slightly shaking his head, "Well, never mind that remark, she doesn't seem interested in becoming bigger like most of the Sun weapons." Ro raised a fist bumping Jordan back smiling wide. "I got her a key to my room. You know she has a thing for just taking random naps, I used to get back to my room and find she picked my lock to take a nap."

"Depends on the weapon. Roar never got much bigger than he was to start with, he just got more spines. And you should see Clarice's weapon - she's the Life division assistant - he's a sword as tall and broad as she is. Ferros used to get huffy and jealous about that. It's an individual thing." Jordan glanced at the smashed rocks, then desummoned Ferros and stretched, rolling his shoulders.
"That's pretty great. Getting to room keys already, man, you work fast," he teased.

"I guess we'll see what she becomes when I work a bit more. Don't think she's going to upgrade just hanging out in the labs and working on Island." He frowned, "Not looking forward to the missions once I get the promotion though, but, I guess I walked into this when I agreed to come here." With a wave of the hand Sylvia was gone, the miniature version dangling from his ear again.
"Well I mean, she has my key, I don't have her key yet." He smirked, "She's usually crashing my place anyway so it's not like I need it yet." He prodded Jordan in the shoulder, "You gota hook me up with those extend-o double bed deals. The little solo bunks they give aren't big enough to share forever. You'd know right?"
