It's not necessary, but it pays off to give your animals some lovin'. Well cared for animals win festival competitions, and winning festival competitions gives you brand power that makes your stuff worth more.
And it only takes about three days of treating skittish animals like gold for them to start liking you enough to take a chill pill, hahaha. If it was too hard I wouldn't have any. Finally saw an alpaca dance too! it just.... Kinda stared at nothing with it's goofy alpaca face and started wiggling a lot after I brushed it.
