Sasha let out a sharp, harsh snort and fought the urge to roll her eyes.
"Melodrama doesn't suit you." She waved a hand in the air. "I know things about you now that I'd rather not," Sasha continued, giving the man a pointed look before placing her hands on her hips, fingers drumming against the dark fabric of her sweater, "but that's a topic best left alone, I think you'll agree."
Sasha exhaled slowly, a measured release of breath. He was going to start with the wooble any moment, she was sure of it.
"Something is on your mind," she cajoled quietly, attempting a different method of persuasion. "What is it? If it's something to do with me, we should clear the air. If it's not about me, then perhaps I can help?"

Jerry bitterly picked at the dummy, as though trying to hide his sour expression.
"I got arrested this morning."

Sasha's cheeks puffed out as her lips simultaneously pressed together. Classic signs of repressed laughter, and it took her a moment to compose herself.
Her voice was strangled when she finally did speak.
"Details, Jerry. Juicy details. Arrested?"
There was a sadistic sort of humor in her eyes.
"Go on, then. You have my undivided attention."

Jerry let out a long moan as he swayed away from the dummy to return back toward the shed. "So I got this text message at like. Four in the morning or something, Melvin and Rep had gotten themselves arrested and needed bail. In Scotland."

"Oh, Jerry."
Ten seconds passed. Ten long seconds during which Sasha fought for control over the terrible laugh that threatened to ring out.
"Rep and Melvin got themselves arrested in Scotland, brilliant. And you went to rescue them in - let me guess - a bright hawaiian shirt? You were actually going to bail them out?! Rep and Melvin. Two shining pillars of humankind."
Sasha took a moment to fan herself, cheeks bright from suppressed laughter.
"I'd have left them both there to rot. How did you find yourself arrested with them, then?"

"It was pure anti-semitic PROFILING. Apparently there's laws against being Jerry in Scotland. It was reDICULOUS!"

"Being Jerry."
She pursed her lips.
"Which means you went to Scotland in your loud shirt, and you brought an instrument with you?"

"It was early. I thought I'd make a bit of a vacation out of it." He sighed. "So I brought my guitar. How was I supposed to know they don't like merriment in the U.K.?"

"So, then. Who rescued you? I needn't ask about Rep - but who came after Melvin?"
She allowed herself a small snort of laughter, getting an irrational amount of satisfaction out of this particular line of questioning.
"Did you prance up to the constabulary, perhaps even sing them a joyful song about your brothers in arms who had gotten mixed up?"

"No! I just walked in and they were on me! It was a complete infringement of my human rights!" He seemed to sag more in mortification as he vanished into the shed, "And... I called Candace. But he had called Jordan first and when HE found out the two had been arrested in a BAR FIGHT, he thought I had been involved too and uggg!"

There was a long silence, and Sasha shook her head as she watched Jerry disappear within the depths of the shed.
Candace. She wasn't surprised.
"Why do you think Jordan thought you were involved? I think it was a rather safe assumption for him to make, considering who you were with and why they were there. Is this what's got you in such a mood?"

"He's just... he's that one person that actually... that I thought actually... I dont' know. Trusted me. Respected me at least a little bit. I tried to explain but he didn't believe me. I'm just... sick of being the... the a** of the universe. Sick of it. Is all." He died down into a grumble as he dragged another dummy out, concentrating on moving it through the grass.

Jordan didn't believe him. She watched him drag another dummy out before speaking. Part of her almost - almost felt sorry for him.
Almost.
"So change. Stop being the a**. Start being the very hungry, very toothy mouth, Jerry."
She narrowed her eyes.
"It really is that simple."

"Simple for YOU maybe." He grunted, concentrating on the dummy he dragged.
