A slight pout graced Isha's lips when Alois refused him. He didn't want to seem like the spoiled rich kid, so he quickly pulled his lips back in trying to get that smile going once again. He could just feel his temples starting to throb a bit from so much smiling. The effect was rather normal, as he just couldn't help it.
"Though the offer of hearing your sister play is quite nice.. She isn't who I asked. I'm sure it sounds lovely, especially if you practiced so much, and were professionally trained, but sometimes, when a person is over-trained, they lose passion in exchange for what is proper. And the theater... It's not quite my thing, though I can pass word to my parents. As for me.. I enjoy informalities! I like seeing things just happen, not having them planned out. Like today for instance. I was drawn in by something informal, and I've met someone quite wonderful, in my mind anyway." This was no jab at all to her personally! It was just.. A little upsetting to have someone he asked reject him so quickly.
"In fact, Alois, I like how you helped me earlier, with my sight, with my posture.. It goes to show how much it seems you do enjoy playing, Though alone.. Which I can understand! So there's no pressure for you to play, no none at all. Not from m--" Another loud sneeze rocked his frame, though once again caught in the crook of his arm. Though he was no longer cold, it seems that his body didn't quite like the fact that it was still wet. The older boy probably wasn't even listening to him anymore, as he walked away. He fell quiet again, the weariness seeping back into him as he sneezed once again.
"I'm sorry, but could I borrow your phone.. I left mine at home.. I figure it's time for me to leave, but with such rain, it might be more efficient to just get my driver to come pick me up.."

Katarin was a bit taken aback to hear someone refuse to hear her play, and then openly criticize her formal training. That sounded pretty rude; maybe she should've just stayed upstairs and continued to practice. "Sorry for offering." She muttered defensively. Well, if their patron was going to turn her down so quickly, then maybe she should just leave the dealmaking to Alois and leave. After she picked up her hot chocolate, she scurried toward the stairs in a huff.
Well, that was one way to drive her off. Curious that Isha would do that though; typically his sister was the nicest of the three siblings. Maybe he had a penchant for masochism. That was alright by him - he could certainly dole out some misery if the kid wanted it so badly.
However, the only thing he seemed to want at the moment was a phone.
"Yeah, sure." They didn't have a landline yet, and probably wouldn't get one. In Europe they never bothered with it, as it was expensive and unnecessary. He'd have to settle for using Alois' somewhat destroyed cell phone, but it worked perfectly well. "Just... pretend it doesn't stink like beer. I had nosing to do wis' zat." He pulled the phone from his pocket and tossed it to Isha.
Maybe he should lay off the phone tricks for a while. He'd demonstrated to people one too many times how indestructible the phone was, which resulted in its plethora of chips and dings, and interesting smell. He hadn't run it over with a car yet, but he'd tossed it into several pools and a few beer glasses and called himself. Yeah, it rang underwater, which was worth a few laughs, albeit drunken ones. Unless he wanted to finally break the damn thing, he'd have to relent with his petty parlor tricks.
"As for hearing me play again... Next time you visit here, try not to make any sounds and I won't notice you." He gave Isha a crooked smirk. That's essentially the only way he'd hear him play again, since he was unwilling to let his guard down around the kid. "Also, try to fix your accent. You sound like you're trying to speak German around a mous'ful of marbles." He laughed, though halfheartedly.

Katarin retreating was the last thing that Isha would have expected to happen! Isha hadn't thought he was rude or anything.. And he even said he'd send his parents to check it out! His PARENTS! Probably some of the richest people in the area, going to see her perform! Maybe even sponsor for something, he didn't know. They were the eccentric type like that.. Ah well.. If she misunderstood something, allowing a kid like him get under her skin, and fled without reasoning, he wasn't going to chase after her. It wasn't his right to, especially if it was up a flight of stairs that pretty clearly went into the above apartment.
"I didn't mean to be rude.. I honestly don't think my comment was that bad.. Alas, C'est La Vie and what not." He waved his hand a bit in a slightly whatever manner. As soon as he did, he switched up to catch the phone, being ultra careful with the raggedy thing. Wow.. That was some work done to it, and flipping it open, Isha let out a surprised, but pleased sound that it actually worked! He nimbly dialed the number, successfully ignoring the smell of alcohol that clung to it. The young woman who served as his driver happily agreed to pick him up shortly from the book store, and with a quick goodbye, he gently closed the phone, handing it back over to Alois.
"Are you certain I can't tempt you to come visit me and play there? I could tempt you with some cake or something!" He laughed a bit too; a small feeling of warmth and satisfaction filled him when the other laughed as well.
"No, no worries.. The next time I come by, I'll bring you something as a gift of thanks, for allowing me, even if unwillingly, to hear you play. And maybe something to apologize to your sister. And I will practice my accent, promise!"

Cake? Isha was offering cake? Mmm, tiramisu, or red velvet, or... Wait, why consider this? Despite the promise of delicious confections, he despised the thought of playing in front of others. Was he trying to bribe Alois into becoming his personal musician now? Fat chance, even with cake included.
"Why bring gifts?" Alois was so used to people pissing him off that they essentially pissed him off with their presence. It was reflexive, if anything. As surely as the knee bends when the hammer hits the tendon, Alois fumes when he catches sight of a stranger. It was as reliable as the sun rising every morning. "Don't bring me anysing. And my sister..." He almost laughed. Why would anyone make the mistake of bringing her gifts? She blew the gesture way out of proportion every time, like clockwork. "You don't want to inflate her ego." She already received an exorbitant amount of compliments on her playing, which she always took to heart. She didn't need gifts too.
On a whim, Alois accepted his cell phone dropped it into his cup of hot chocolate. He swirled it around nonchalantly. Maybe it'd get rid of the beer scent, maybe not. It was worth a quizzical stare, at least.
"I'll make you a deal. If you practice your accent, and finally sound German for once, I'll play somesing for you." That was a promise he never expected to live up to, but at least he'll hear some decent German out of the kid. It wouldn't sound so... strange and watery. "Tschüß." He bade Isha farewell before finally getting around to inventory. All this human interaction actually made him want to work to take his mind off it, since playing piano would only cause him to think about what transpired that day, and why the hell would he want to do that?
He was a misanthrope for a reason.

"Well, if anything, it's because I am thankful for what you have done for me. Helping me in my time of need, you know?" He listened patiently as the boy spoke of his sister, mentioning not to flatter her further. Just the though of doing so caused him to giggle.
"I never give anything I don't mean, so.. If it's something I thing might be needed, I'll do i-- Why would you do that?" The beer scented phone would probably forever changed to a sweet, chocolate liquor smell.. Not that bad, in his opinion, but.. It seemed a bit of a waste for him, That poor phone.. Before he could wait for an answer, a honking sound came from outside of the walls that surrounded him. That unmistakable, annoying sound that his driver loved so much. Atleast he always knew it was her who was making such a racket! Such a kind soul, she was, but still.
"As hard as it's going to be.. I'll take you up on that deal! I'll be speaking as if I had just arrived from Frankfurt! Until next time!" Isha gathered up his purchase into his arms, holding them as close he could as he to his chest.
"I'm sure I'll get to see you again soon." With a quick wave, he proceeded to rush to the car, trying to dodge rain drops as he did so. Hopefully, the next time they meet, there won't be as much rain!
