Shaun grinned at her. "Is that a challenge? We'll have to compare portfolios and credentials, then!" And then the unexpected snarling caught his attention. He peered over at the scene and confirmed, "It sure seems like it. Looks like someone who's upset about their territory being invaded, if I'm any judge." He reflexively pulled out a camera (the waterproof one, since this looked like it could get a bit wet) and snapped a quick picture, almost without bothering to aim. May as well try for a shot while it was standing relatively still. "I'm inclined to wait and see how this plays out. Get more natural shots that way."

Fleet turned at the movement and stared down at the smaller water pokemon snarling at her. She didn't see what had upset it so. <"What? I wanted a swim. There's room here for both of us.">

Jia was quick to mimic Shaun with pulling out some waterproof equipment and taking a shot of the two staring at one another. "If we're both going to do this, might I suggest the rest of us taking cover?" A motion of the head towards the trees behind them, yet she kept her camera focused on the two water types. "If I had to guess, the Vaporeon is an older pokemon and we have no idea what abilities it has."

A pricking of an ear and the two suddenly became the focus of bi-colored eyes, the left one glittering an unholy crimson. The Vaporeon growled low in his throat as his tail waved in the air; These two had to be the cause of his misfortunes, along with the over-grown water worm.

Perhaps they would learn from their mistakes with a little discipline. The air started dropping a few degrees.

The hairs on the back of her neck prickled. "Uh....Shaun...?" Rajiya swallowed nervously as an icy-blue aura surrounded the water-type. "I...Think we might wanna haul for cover?"

The sudden drop in temperature made Shaun shiver. "Yes, that might be a good idea." He ducked behind Salvo's leaves and started backing up. "Salvo, cover us?"

The pokemon nodded and waves his leaves a bit, causing the faintly shimmering wall of a Safeguard to appear in front of him. He started to back up too, though he kept an eye on the Vaporeon. He might not be much of a battler, but he could defend.

"And maybe strength in numbers might help," Shaun added, pulling out a pokeball and letting it drop to the ground. It burst open to release a Cubone, who immediately looked around and saw the unfamiliar but clearly hostile pokemon. Hey, if it wanted a fight, he could give it one! He started forward, bone club raised menacingly.

Fleet just stared at the blue pokemon on the bank. <"Really, what's the problem?"> it took a moment for her to notice that Shaun and the other human were backing up and looking uneasy. <"Hey, are you trying to hurt them? You can't do that, he's nice!">

The Vaporeon started at the Safeguard, the icy attack suddenly stopping before multi-colored eyes flicked towards the Cubone. He suddenly then snorted his mirth before laughing aloud, eyes sparkling with amusement at this bold ground pokemon.

<"So! The cub thinks to take on a lion?"> A glare was briefly shot in Fleets' direction. <"Considering you are simply shoving someone out of his home?"> The humor fell as he snarled again, the temperature falling as quickly as his mood. <"I would say that is justified means to shove right back....Of course, you may have forgotten that simple rule in the wilds."> He snorted and glanced back down at Scrapper. <"And you? What fool simply charges into battle knowing it's a little....wet outside?">

As he spoke, his eyes lit into a brilliant sapphire.

Despite taking shelter behind Salvo, the camera was clicking softly as Rajiya carefully captured this moment. She paused and glanced at Shaun after contemplating the Vaporeon. "Ya know...If I had to guess, he acts like my Father does when there was no coffee in the house. Cranky, unhappy and just doesn't want to be around anyone."

Scrapper pointed his bone at the Vaporeon defiantly and snapped back, <"Wet or dry, I can take you on any day!"> He glanced at Fleet and added, <"Don't you dare help, either. I got this!"> Not that the water snake would bother, the big airhead. With that, he charged forward, swinging his club repeatedly for a Bone Rush.

Shaun was also snapping away, having flicked the camera to a fast shutter speed in order to capture the action shots without the picture growing too blurry. "Yeah, leaving it alone would likely be the best way to calm it down. But it could just as likely chase after us, and you can't get any pictures if you run from everything." After another shot or two he added, "Though if things look bad, we can always fly out of reach on Salvo. He should be able to carry the two of us."

The Bone Rush hurt...alot. It took a head shake to clear the stars our of his eyes but the pokemon wasn't about to let this one slide.

Growling, the Vaporeon darted away a few feet from the smaller pokemon. <"If you can stand up to wet or dry, then have you tried cold?"> His eyes flashed brilliantly as a brilliant, rainbow-colored beam shot out of his mouth.

"Are you sure? I would rather Salvo not become a moving target for our sake. If anything, he can fly out of the way and we can hide elsewhere." She paused and snapped a few more pictures. "Plus, I doubt anything short of something knocking it out will calm it down, as you say."

Scrapper reflexively held his bone up in front of him, though it did little against the oncoming attack. The chilling beam hit hard, threatening to freeze him, but he shook himself free of its grip. Still, he couldn't entirely suppress a shiver from the cold. Perhaps getting in close was not the best idea with this one. That wasn't going to stop him from attacking, though. He took a step back, then wound back his arm and threw his club for a Bonemarang.

"Salvo could put up a Protect long enough to get safely out of range," Shaun explained as he climbed up on Salvo's back for a better vantage point. "And knocking it out does seem the only solution, we could always have Salvo and Fleet gang up on it. There are advantages to having two large pokemon on your side," he added with a grin.
