Under his touch her fur started rising in temperature, he wasn't exactly sure why but the warmth was strangely comforting. He found himself staying in that stance just to enjoy the heat but that was most likely due to the fact he was soaked from the wave of water she had drowned him moments ago and it was starting to bring a chill to the damp.

Hooking her chin to keep him close only furthered his need to stay in the warmth. He had no intention of moving, just yet but she made the decision to move for him, when she moved out of the hold and flashed him a look, a playful look.

He tilted his head to the side some, in wonder if she wanted to continue playing in the water, then she turned and started to walk away. He made his way after her, pushing his legs with extra force to tread faster through the water but it felt like it was pulling him back with every step he took.

He groaned at the motion, showing his distaste.

With her quick spin, he halted in his tracks and flashed his eyes back to her protectively, noticing that something had her on edge.

Was it him again..?

His brows met in the middle but not in an angry way, it folded in to an expression of confusion. Trying to understand what was wrong. Her hackles flaring up to show that she was scared and alarmed.

Immediately, he drew concerned and made a leap to her side. The water couldn't hold him back from keeping her safe. Once at her side, his eyes darted around at their surroundings. Looking to every tree to see and lifting his ears to try capture sounds of another presence.

When nothing entered them he turned his deep blue eyes to her pure blues and gave a small shake of his head.

"Nobody is there." He mentioned quietly. "Don't worry, I wouldn't let them hurt you even if there was. You're safe with me." He gave her a small reassuring smile and nudged his head to the side indicating her to follow him.

He moved slowly and waited for her, to see if she would follow before moving. Wanting to escape the contents of the water before the cold air became the death of them.

"How would you like to hear a story? An unbelievable one but know this. Everything I will say is based on true events."

It was something that captivated the hearts of girls. His mother had told him that it was any mares dream, to fall in to a perfect land. A wonderland. A place where princes existed but in the end, wasn't so perfect after all.

"Somewhere in these lands, there's a hole in the ground." He started as he continued to move. This story explained how he came to be and the person he was looking for and why he wanted to kill them.

An indirect way of telling her a little more about him.

"Not just any hole but a hole leading to a whole other piece of this land. They say that this part of the land was once bustling with creatures that walked on two legs but when a terrible tragedy hit, they all fled leaving others like us behind in the ruin of their town. The only thing that remains alive and untouched is a rose garden."

He looked out of the corner of his bangs to see if it was helping her relax, if by him talking it was easing her caution. He waited for her when reaching the edge of the lake so that she could step out first, being a gentleman... Just for her.

Candle Wick Ghost

She followed him up onto the bank and turned as he began to tell the
story. Her eyes lit up as he told the story, but it sounded so sad. She
watched his face carefully. Aurora was anything but slow, so she
understood that this story was closely connected with him. Her
imagination skipped around trying to vividly imagine the rose garden.

She bent her head down, waiting for him to come out of the water as well.
He looked terribly cold. Her nose touching his again as a sign of affection
and she knew that he understood that it was an obvious tell that she was
listening and excited to hear about him. She would reciprocate the story
with a story of her own.

She rose back up and rose up her head. Her pale blue eyes closed shut
as she tried with a great deal of difficulty to plot out in her head how she'd
tell him such a story like he did. She was an awful artist and her lack of
voice felt like a terrible hindrance. Her eyes fluttered open again and her
eyes glanced at an empty space nearby.

She moved smoothly into the space and she spun to face him. He stood
a distance away and she swayed from side to side, prepping herself to
tell a story the best way she could. She huffed up her chest and bucked
up to act like a wild and beautiful stallion. Her mannerisms were an
impossibly accurate depiction of an older male. Then she melted down
into the serene feminine qualities of an older mare. She swirled her tail
around to show that there was a flirtatious quality between these two
unique characters.

Then she side stepped with an eager and happy face and shook her
head around to show a goofy and playful foal like quality. As her actions
played out, it was obvious and clear that she was telling the story of her
parents having three foals. Two of the foals being loud and energetic
foals brimming with charm. The third was played up a bit to add to the
story, the quiet and sad foal who wanted to connect with her siblings but
couldn't.

Then the story revealed that her parents grew stressed and confused
about the young foal. A distance had formed which lead the young filly into
rebellious outbursts and consuming pain.

She stopped in her movements. Her story was anything but clear, but she
made a face to reveal that she was embarrassed, but happy to get the
story out to the best of her abilities.

Every touch was like a gift from the mute, the warmth truly welcome and the affection would not be forgotten. Even when they were grown and long in to the lives and embraces of others. He would still know the kindness this filly had shown him, even when the world had been so cruel to her. In many ways than simply giving her a life without ever being able vocally express her troubles, her thoughts. Anything at all, even happiness if it were to ever find her.

His eye lids lowered, reflecting some deep sorrow that stirred in him when it really dawned on him what future she may have but that is why he was here and he knew that is why he was brought to her aid. A small, weak smile crept at his lips as he continued to watch her. As she moved in to an open space to tell him a story, like he had just done for her. Except it would be more difficult for her to tell him such a thing and he assumed that she must live a very exhausting life to continue to have to act everything out if the situation needed more than just a facial expression.

He gave a soft sigh and a gentle shake of his head, never allowing his eyes to drift from her frame even for a second. He made out two people in love, a stallion. Dominant, powerful. Of course and a mare, innocent, admiring the one beside her with great awe. The next scene, initiated by a side step. Foals were the result of this romance but one remained the black sheep and he instantly knew that this story was about the mute before him. His weak smile had faded as he continued to make out her actions.

Her frustration was as clear as daylight itself and by telling it to him in the only way she knew how, had been the only person to ever know it. The only person she had ever vented to was him. Something he knew well was keeping to himself but that was because he wanted to. How would he feel if no one was to ever know, even if he wanted them to?

"I don't know how anybody could treat you like an outcast. Could they not see that it wasn't your fault? You have a big heart. Sweet, innocent. That isn't something that should be damned by an act of nature, it should be nurtured."

He gave a snort of irritation and moved closer to her, lowering his head. "I will never show you that cruelty and will hail my hooves down on anyone who will ever dare show you such again."
