West pulled up short as he reached the lava's edge, the nearness of the heat and flame forcing him to realize the danger he was in and breaking the hold the smoke had on his mind.
"You lyin' d**k," he hissed. West continued muttering to himself as he drew the thermos out of his cloak, pulled his gloves on more securely, and crouched closer to the burning abyss. His clothes were so sweaty they clung to him, and he had to squint to see what he was doing through the fumes, but it still wasn't long before the boil had a thermos full of lava.
Once he was done, he hopped back up the last few steps almost before he could think, so thankful was he that his ordeal was, at the very least, halfway done. With each step, he felt lighter, happier, more hopeful. He didn't have to follow in his parents' stodgy footsteps to be a true wrath demon. He could do things his own way. He could gather all the FEAR Halloween could ever need with his own skills and cunning. He could...
Even though the heat did not abate, the trip back up seemed shorter somehow, and soon West was perched on the lip of the crater once more. He knew these musings were unnatural, dragged from the unrealistic, optimistic part of his brain by this place, but that didn't keep him from smirking and humming to himself as he made his way back down the steep side of the volcano.

His return to the Hordor side of Rage's portal also seemed quite a bit shorter with nothing to fight along the way. It would have been peaceful if West hadn't known what was out there, waiting. He had only deterred his attackers. They could resurface again at any time. The thermos remained uncomfortably warm at first, despite its insulation, but even after the outside of the container grew cool enough to touch, West kept his gloves on. He was exhausted enough to deem a simple action like removing a pair of gloves a waste of energy. Eventually, the boil reached a location he recognized... the clearing just outside the door that had led him to this place. The passage back home was around here somewhere. Now if he could only find the thing.

SR was there to receive West at the entrance, as if the ghost knew that his protege had suffered greatly- "Took you long enough." -or maybe he had just gotten tired of waiting.
Once they were back inside, he took the thermos from West, examining its contents before moving over to a workbench that he had set up while the demon was away. On it were some tools and equipment that looked out of place in the room, like SR had taken a blacksmith's workbench from somewhere, and transported it to his place... Not really out of the question.
Using the lava, he heated a piece of metal, softening it so that he could hammer it into the shape of a small bar. That was then heated up again until it was flexible enough to be wrapped around a mandrel to be shaped into a ring. After the ring was shaped into the correct size, he sanded and polished it until it was smooth and shiny.
He was beginning to regret not buying the rings.
When he was done with both rings, he tucked them away into his jacket pocket, and poured the lava - which was quickly cooling down - into a small opening on two metal cubes. After sealing the opening, he pushed them off the bench and into the bucket of water on the floor, speeding up the cooling process. Once they were no longer red hot, he fished them out, and cracked one of them open, revealing a small orange-red stone.
"Did you pierce your earlobes?"

West didn't comment beyond a faint snort and another roll of his eyes. Of course it took a long time. He'd been assaulted, nearly drowned, plagued with visions, almost burnt to a crisp, his RPer was generally slow as balls... He'd like to see how fast Rage could endure the same. No, really. He clasped his hands behind his back to prevent himself from trying to shove his mentor through the passage into Hordor. At least the boil recognized it was probably not one of his better ideas. He stayed a good distance away once SR began to work. West had been expecting a dismissal, or at least some sign he was permitted to change out of these horrible clothes, but instead the ghost continued hammering and smelting and extruding without a backward glance, not until he turned around to ask West a very odd question. Considering the fact that the Trick or Treater had just uncovered a glitzy little stone of some sort, West couldn't help wondering if he was being offered jewelry. "Did I pierce somethin'... in there?" West asked, gesturing back at the passage. "Was that part of the plan?" He snorted softly as he shook his head. "No, I don't have piercin's anywhere 'cept..." The stud in his tail caught the light as he flicked his heavy cloak to one side, then removed it completely. "...my tail. Why?"

SR didn't answer West's question. Instead, he silently fixed the orange-red gem onto a silver ear stud before moving towards his protege.
"Stay still, and don't Jacking move," That was the only warning he gave before he grabbed hold of the demon's right ear, thrusting the pointy end of the ear stud through his ear lobe before securing it in place with a earnut. It was over and done with within a few seconds.
"As your mentor, I've bestowed upon one more hole on your body," He deadpanned, returning to the bench to retrieve the other metal cube, "And a piece of fine jewelry, so make sure you dress up for the wedding."
That's it. It doesn't do anything except look pretty.
"You're probably Jacking pissed off right now, right?" He asked, now moving towards the door that leads towards Hordor, "Direct all that anger into your fist, and punch this as hard as you can."
[OOC: - I just put the ability up in staff thread but Maru looked it over and approved it already, soooo. - You'll also have to post in learned abilities thread... Once this ability is put there officially. ouo]Quote: Beginner Fist of FuryDifficulty level: Beginner Prerequisites: Have Seething with Rage as a mentor. Battle Effect: After someone had landed 5 successful hits on you, you can choose to activate this ability, which would make your attack modifier -5 instead of -6 for three turns. Can only be used once per battle. Not applicable to defend or healing modifiers. Non-battle Effect: Direct strength to your dominant hand for 5 seconds; if you ever wanted to punch down a door or do a one handed push up, here's your chance! Requirements: Complete one mentor activity with Seething with Rage; it will be taught to you.
