"Your right Shiny they are amazing!" She was delighted with herself and with him for letting her try something so awesome. As he bounded forward to nuzzle her, she felt something extremely soft and fluffy brush against her. She enjoyed the feel of him nuzzling her, she was happy with the fact that he was praising her. "Maybe we could go on adventures together!" The words bounded out of her mouth before she realized what she was saying. Amira and Amenophis would be heart broken if she left them behind but maybe if she told them she was going on grand adventures with a new friend, would they still be sad?

He chuckled at her.
"We can go on adventures if you want to."
He purred, smiling down at the filly.
"Only day trips. I wouldn't want your parents getting worried."
He was unsure how they would feel about her wandering off with a complete stranger.
He tilted his head at the thought.
"When you're older, if you still want to. I'll take you on grand adventures,"
He was still young in the mind.
The day he lost his sense of fun would be the day his clock heart stopped ticking.
"Does that sounds good to you?"
He swished his tail behind him.
There was so many things he wanted to show this filly.
She seemed so sheltered and there were so many amazing things in the world.
Things even he hadn't seen, mysteries still left to be solved.

Vanya grinned up at him and nodded her head furiously. "Any adventure with you would be fun shiny!" As she said she words, a sudden idea popped into her head. "You know Shiny, even though we just met. I'm going to miss you and be lonely when your gone." She said the words with a rather sad tone. Vanya didn't really know where the words were coming from or why she would feel a need to say them to such a stranger but she liked him. Even more so, she liked that he showed her such new and exciting things.

Boris blushed.
He looked stunned, jaw loose.
"You're... Going to miss... Me?"
He couldn't help but warm at that comment.
Such a sweet thing for her to say to someone like him.
He gave a soft, cat-like smile at her and purred.
Moving to stand next to her, he pulled his boa up and lifted it over her.
His way of showing he appreciated it, in a form of a cuddle.
"I'm going to miss you too-"
"- But know I'll never be too far away. Just listen for the chimes."

She couldn't help the giggle that escaped her as she snuggled against him. "Oh shiny I won't have to listen for the chimes. I can spot you from a mile away." As soon as the words left her mouth, the laughter came louder. She was really smiling and laughing with happiness. She had found a true friend and it was all because she chose to venture just a little further away from home. "I'm glad I found you today." She spoke the words with honesty. If she hadn't found him, she would probably never know what it meant to have a friend at least maybe not so soon.

He let out an echoing laughter.
His ears flattened out to the side. Right. His piercings...
He was also glad that she had come strolling in to him.
His life had been lacking lately.
The joy he used to feel.
Now he had the innocent foal to entertain.
He was certain she would relight that old spark of joy.
Yet, soon he would be surrounded by more than one foal.
At least this one wouldn't be trained to kill him.
He gave a small, troubled growl at his thoughts and then shook his head.
"You too. Were going to have plenty of good times!" - I'm sure of it."
He grinned at this and turned, waiting for her to follow the movements of his boa trailing at her side.
"How about I show you something else, before walking you home. The start to our great adventures."

A curious question popped into her head. "Shiny do you have any children like me?" She grinned at him. Perhaps she could play with others her own age other than her sisters. Would they be just as fun as Shiny himself? She ignored the growl he made, not sure if she should even ask about it. She didn't want to trouble him or get on his bad side. "I want us to have lots and lots of good times, no sadness or tears okay?" She couldn't help but add the biggest and cheesiest grin to the question. She jumped up and down ready to follow him anywhere.

"Yes I do." He gave a soft smile.
"They're older than you're but act more or less the same as they were at that age."
He couldn't help but chuckle.
"Teacups, the one that stays at Hatters hole with me, is usually off on crazy adventures..."
He gave a light shrug. "The others, I don't see very often anymore. One has found an interest in boys already and well..."
He looked at the ground, giving a stray stone a kick with the tip of his hoof.
"My son lives with his mother."
Something he hadn't really thought about since the break.
"Sad? Who is sad?" His ears twitched and he lowered his head to her, giving her a bonk on the end of her nose with his chin.
Gently~
"There will be none of that! You'll see."

"Do you miss them when they were foals?" Vanya imagined he had to be a little lonely since he didn't have any foals to keep him company around him all the time. She flinched a little when she felt his chin hit her nose a little gently. "I hope we will be forever happy as long as we are together." She smiled up at him even though she had previously had thoughts of him being lonely. "I wonder if your lonely though in...Hatter's hole?" She asked the question because more or less she had never heard of the place called Hatter's Hole.

Boris gave a laugh.
He did, he really did. They were always running around him, it was hard to keep up but it was never a dull day.
"I do miss that time but now it's time for them to make something of their own lives."
He nodded as he continued to walk to their mystery destination, making sure she stuck close to him.
He wouldn't want her getting lost. He felt responsible for whatever happened to her, as well as knowing that her parents would hunt him down and skin him for his fur.
"Some day, that time will come for you too but whilst you're young, you should spend as much time with your family and friends as you can."
He gave a chuckle.
"How could we not be happy?"
Giving his tail a swish, he looked to the sky as it faded from the warm colour of the sun, in to a paste of reds and oranges.
They would be there soon, he hoped they beat the sun there or else it wouldn't be as magical of an experience for her as he was hoping.
"No." He twisted his head. "Yes?" He hung his head slightly, ears falling to the side of his head.
"I don't know..." With Dice around it always made him feel lonely but he was happy, for her and the fact that she was just there.
"I'm not anymore. Not with you here." His lips moved in to a soft smile as he looked at her. His fangs peaking over the top of his lower lip.
It felt like she had given him some kind of purpose again.
A purpose other than lazing around on logs, hunting and fishing. As well as the odd torment the hatter hour.

Vanya found that she enjoyed the sound of his laughter. A smile easily fell upon her own face as she heard his laughter but it quickly fell away once she heard him speak. "Even if that time comes for me..I could still keep those I love most company right?" She looked up at him because even though she just met him, she never wanted him to be apart from him at least not for long. She always wanted to be with her sisters and her parents to. She found herself pondering his next question as it rang through her ears. "We could not be happy if someone died or got lost...or something horrible happened perhaps?" She felt like she answered it rightfully, maybe he didn't intend for her to answer him but she didn't want those sort of things to happen none the less. His words confused her on if he was lonely or not. Her eyes blinked several times trying to clear the fog in her mind as she walked beside him following him. It didn't work though, the confusion still over took her brain. Was he not lonely, was he lonely? How was it that he couldn't know if he was lonely or not? "I don't live with you in Hatter's Hole though, so aren't you lonely then?" She spoke the words with a sense of sadness because she was more confused now than ever.

Boris had been reflecting on his own troubled past.
The fact that he had done so much fighting, so much chasing and still, by some thin thread he continued to hang on to everything even when all hope seemed lost, even when it felt like there was nothing left to hang on to.
That piece of him that he still didn't know, couldn't grasp, not allowing him for a moment give up but telling him he had to keep going.
Even when he was with the others at the amusement park herd, even when he returned to the sight he never thought he could bare to see.
That the hatter had won.
"You can always keep the ones you love close to you." He whispered. "Even when it feels like you're losing them or times get hard, so long as you keep fighting for what you want the most, what you believe in, life will always find a way to keep you together. Somehow."
He closed his eyes for a moment. Feeling the wind against his fur as it blew back the long tassles of his boa and rang the chimes of his piercings then blew them forward again in the breeze.
Opening his eyes again at her next statement, he shook his head.
"No. If someone died or got lost, that would be a terrible tragedy."
Although, it depended on who it was. Some people he wouldn't mind a tragedy happening to them. He knew that was just a thoughtless passing wish, if it really was to happen, then he would feel sadness.
Even if killing, or the want to kill another, had once passed through him before.
"We have to keep moving forward. That is the only way to be happy."
He honestly believed this to be true because the notion had followed him through his existence to this day.
"Just never give up wishing. Never give up hope."
His eyes slipped to their corners to look at her. She was a very bright foal and even though she was still young, he hoped she would understand the things he was saying.
She was clever to pick up on his words. It made him smile fondly over her consideration.
"I'll explain it to you one day but it doesn't matter if I am lonely there, it just gives me something more to look forward to!"
He truly meant that and as the words left his mouth his could feel his spirits lift as though it was some physical being lifting him from his hooves.

She didn't understand anything really that he was saying but the only thing that she could grasp was that she could keep the ones she loved close to her. "Boris..have you lost loved ones?" Somehow she couldn't keep herself from asking the painful question. Tears started to form in her soft amber eyes. "Did you cry for them?" She didn't know why tears were burning her eyes now but she felt at a loss for all the ones that were close to Boris and others in this strange land. There were probably so many that had died someway or another, did loved ones cry then? She ignored everything and felt like she just had to get the sadness out of her somehow. "I don't understand.." Once the words left her lips, she found herself sitting in the grass, crying with an extreme sadness. She didn't want her loved ones to die and leave her alone in the world one day. "I don't want to be left alone in the world Boris!" She opened her gentle eyes to look at him as she screamed the words at him. Her heart was breaking with the sadness that was overwhelming her from the thoughts that those she would come to care for would leave her alone one day, that she would even leave this land. "I don't want to move forward if it will only result in loss and pain." She managed to get the words out as she continued to cry. She had no idea how she could possibly not give up wishing or hoping when there was something so dark in the world.

In one, swift, heart-breaing moment those spirits were forming cracks, crumbling away with the wind.
Boris stopped in his tracks, jaw falling loose as his eyes darted to the figure who was filling with pain. It was unleashed in her sobbing and the melody of sorrow in her voice.
He knew that sorrow all too well. The feeling of helplessness of unwelcome change. How could anyone fight through that?
When in the end, it only felt like disaster was waiting to strike again.
He sighed, his eyes shaking with sadness as they took in the fragile frame of the filly and the salty liquid waterfalls that were rolling over her lids and staining her cheeks.
He turned slowly, making a graceful leap to her side. Soundless hooves pressed against the ground he lowered himself to be at her level and gripped his boa to dab it against her face.
Hoping that by wiping the tears away it would erase the pain.
He couldn't stand seeing the foal cry.
He felt like he had personally hurt her, that this was all his fault.
"It's ok Birdie... Everything will be ok. Don't cry."
He pleaded, frowning.
"Nobody is going to leave you alone. We will be here."
He tried to think of the best way to explain loss, in a way it wouldn't push her over the edge in to relentless break down.
"Nobody understands why we have to leave this world. I know I don't."
He shrugged but he didn't have the same kind of heart as she was. His was made for him, hers was alive, pure. Beautiful.
"We can't make promises we don't know we can keep but what we do know, is that if we promise, even after were gone that we will be with you. Then whatever part of us wants that, more than anything... Then we will find a way to make that happen. Just listen to your heart. Let others in to it."
The road was painful, he wouldn't deny her the truth about that.
He moved his head over her neck and pulled her towards him, hugging her close.
Some form of comfort to help heal the troubles she was facing.
