Eshe accpeted the feathers with sure hands and moved to her fireplace, intending on mixing her concoction right there. The feathers were needed for their stems. They could be crushed and boiled down to a solution that would be fed to the baby in place of the normal meals the infants received.

She quickly cut, stripped and ground the feather stems and mixed them with juice from the lotus flowers before lowing the mixture onto the glowing coals for a slow boil. It would need to be boiled together before cooling for the child. The supply Rishima brought would be just slightly more than enough to help the youngling develop properly.

She stood from the hearth and looked to Rishima. "Thank you Rishima. Your help today has saved a life. Soon she will be strong enough to join the other children of Aisha."

She placed a hand on Rishima's shoulder.
"Rishima, a sister with your conviction can give all Alkidike something to strive for. I believe that you are ready to begin training as a warrior."
