                      Welcome Everyone!

                      So.

I have decided to double this journal up as a plot thread and AIM RP log so I can keep everything safe and together. I tend to loose PM's and then forget about plots, so I want everyone to feel free to post here with idea's and discussions and whatnot. I will also be posting updated, solo's and other fun things, including arts.

My aim is ElissaCousland - My Skype is DarklyDearest and my PMs are always open. Let's all have fun, yo!

Evidence - Stage One -> Stage Two. (Part One)

Akemi could feel her stomach turning.
The sun was beating down on the small fishing vessel and there was no wind to drive it. The crew and their passenger were sitting ducks on the open sea, but the lack of movement did not mean her sea-sickness was any less merciless.
The she-b***h was tucked away under the sail, clinging onto the small amount of shade available on deck. This whole situation was terrible; it was too hot, too cramped and the whole boat smelt of sweet and fish and men. She was going to puke. Everywhere. Exorsist style. She could feel it.
The crew were doing various things: playing cards, chatting amongst themselves, carrying out their duties. Alas Akemi knew nobody well enough to join in. She leaned back against her bags, making a promise never to subject herself to such torture again.
From now on. NO. MORE. BOATS.
                      This place was impossible!
Akemi sighed, scrunching up her map and throwing it behind her in frustration. Useless piece of s**t! Worst. Purchase. Ever! Red eyes scanned the area: every tree, every bush, every damn pathway looked the damn same.
She crossed her legs and propped herself against a large rock in defeat. In that moment her stomach rumbled and the she-b***h huggled over in pain. She had vastly underestimated how much food this trip would require.
She jerked up suddenly, catching a rustling movement from the corner of her eye. She licked her lips. Drool already building up in her mouth.
                      Second breakfast....
                      ....
                      ....
A much happier Akemi lent against the freshly killed carcass. A fire roared infront of her, providing much needed light. Her arms and torso were soaked with blood. Wild boar was delicious and her enthusiastic moans of satisfaction were tribute to that. She ate her meat bloody, it required less cooking time, and messy food was always better in her opinion.
Maybe a full stomach would improve her navigational skills.
                      It was possible.
                      Akemi growled.
An old habit from a long time ago. The woman was protective of her food, always had been. Though she soon snapped out of it, her face physically relaxing. She dropped the piece of meat she was chewing on and looked over at her visitor, tilting her head in quite a curious manor.
                      He was a big one.
The she-b***h raised her arm and whipped her mouth, only managing to smear the warm red liquid across her porcelain skin and create an even bigger mess. She nodded and licked her lips before pushing herself onto her feet and dusting off her legs.
It was then that she caught sight of the map and pouted.
"That would be better used as toilet paper for all the good it does. I have been lost in these damn woods since early yesterday morning."
She stated, resting a hand on her hip lazily.
Akemi held out her hand and caught the map with ease.
The damn thing was determined to find its way back into her possession, despite how unwanted it was. She smirked at his comment and in reaction started to dab her mouth with the paper quite elegantly. Though it did not do much good, when the map was truly used she just let it fall to the floor. Disregarded once more. Useless.
Despite the fact her torso was only covered with black ribs, the rest of her body was fairly kitted out. She wore combat boots, some heavy duty gloves and a sarong like skirt that was held on by a sturdy belt.
She raised an eyebrow at his question before looking down at her attire curiously.
                      Did he mean the blood?
"No. None of this blood is mine. I am just quite a messy huntress it seems."
She was not squeamish. Not in the slightest. She ran her finger across her collarbone to collect more of the liquid before placing it in her mouth and sucking it clean.
"So. Where can I find an exit?"
                      "Nobody is perfect."
Akemi shrugged. She was not from around here, and she had never so much as heard of these damn woods before. In her opinion she did quite well to get this far, especially due to the quality of her map. Lumena seemed like such a long way away, maybe navigating a whole country on her own was not her brightest idea.
Still, that was the task at hand and she would complete it.
She laughed at his description of her. It was pretty spot on. Akemi smirked and tilted her head, her hair-ear-things flopping to one side, making her look like the mischievous pup she was.
"I am sure they are used to stranger things. We do live in a world filled with odd creatures afterall."
She flicked her hair over her shoulder before sighing and giving in to his demands. She wanted out of here, though she did not like the fact a stranger was demanding her to bathe, she would do so to gain freedom from this wretched place. She craved cake, the sooner she found some the better.
"Fine. Fine. If it bothers you so much."
Chrys walked past the boar, taking a leg with her as she made her way towards the river; she might as well devour her fill before their journey continued, maybe more meat would kill her cake urges.
                      "Idiot."
The leg bone closed the distance between them and smacked Fol between the eyes. Akemi pouted, her arms folded and her eyebrow raised in a irritated manor.
"I am a woman, and I am magical. That is all you need to know."
The she-b***h informed him of the fact quite bluntly, before wafting her hand to signal him to either divert his gaze of suffer the consequences. When prying eyes were off of her she began to clean the red liquid off of her body, making sure to scrub hard in the area's were it had dried. She needed him to get out of here, and she was sure he would refuse to move if she did not complete the task to his satisfaction.
                      How pushy.
Hunting was such a messy work.
"I am on an adventure. When I get out the woods the plan is to find a real bed. I have not seen one in months. A warm bath too. Then come tomorrow I will be off to continue my journey."
She explained, finishing off her clean up job before placing every piece of her combat gear back onto its rightful place. She did not mess around when it came to baths, she could draw out a long one in a tub with bubbles, but washing by the riverside was never very pleasant.
"There. Now that I am wet: aswell as cold, shall we be on our way?"
The red-head asked, resting a hand on her hip once more and tilting her head to the side. She had been forced to endure this wood for too long and did not want to waste any more time in escaping from its branchy embrace.
The world went black as the material flopped over her frame. It dragged along the floor, highlighting how small she was compared to the giant that had stumbled across her. She pulled down the cloak, placing it around the more appropriate place that was her shoulders. She did not know why he had bothered, but it saved her the trouble of digging her own out of her pack.
In truth, the strangers cooperation was startling, and it was beginning to make her feel suspicious. The nature of men was still totally unknown to the girl, reading them was difficult and generally more bother than it was worth.
Unbeknownst to him, Akemi was never sick. She was just one of those people. She was a strong believer in getting on with things and was not one to let illness keep her down. There was more of a chance of a comet hitting him smack in the nose than there was her catching a cold.
                      Suddenly stopped. Clearly unamused.
                      "Folk-arah-vah-darh-radadadada."
The syllables rolled out of her tongue randomly and inelegantly. She had already forgotten what he had said his last name was. The she-b***h raised an eyebrow and pouted. That, was ridiculous.
"You have a silly name. I will call you Fol."
She gave a firm nod. That was the way it was going to be.
                      "Akemi."
One name was enough for her, anything more than that just complicated things. She never understood these people who had grand names that stretched on far past the ending of the parchment.
She walked to keep up to him, every so often letting her gaze drift off to observe the woods.
                      Akemi shrugged.
She was not going to waste her breathe on such a stupidly long and complex name. Everyone was allowed two syllables at most, anything more was greed. The she-b***h folded her arms, walking behind him in mostly silence. After a moment she sighed at his comments.
"I lost them both long ago. They are beyond the reach of any monster now."
She shook her head again, perking up as they seemed to get to the edge. That was fast, maybe she was not as lost as she first thought. She took in a deep breathe, feeling the fresh air of freedom flood into her lungs.
Now, where was that bath and bed?
She ran ahead, looking behind of the giant wolf who had served as her guide.
"Now. Time to find a roof under which to lay my head. What are your plans? Are you coming, or looking for more damsels lost in the darkness."
Akemi paused for a moment, wondering what her best plan of action was. She would go her own way, but risk the chance of once again getting lost in this unfamiliar land, or she could go with the man and endure his company for a little while longer. She thought about it long and hard, before deciding to follow tail. They were heading in the same general direction afterall.
She made sure to keep a couple of feet behind him. He was an odd one, a large wolf with a dominant aura, yet he did not seem to process she same traits that she had come accustom to in large alpha like men. She did not know why this unsettled her, his presence was so familiar but so warped in her mind that it put her on edge. Made her uncomfortable. Did she crave that kind of domination? The kind that her brother showed to his settlement wives? Or did the memories he was stirring up sicken her. Was his existence unfair? Was that alone mocking her? Was the world she came from really that strange? Had it destroyed her sense of humanity completely?
She had no idea. All she knew was probably the only person who she could feel at ease around, the only person she had met who might understand her was acting like any other witch. In this moment, she had never felt so detached and well... downright unusual.
The girl shifted rather uncomfortably, wrapping the cloak around her more to shield herself from the wind. Her one visible blue eye kept to the ground, she was lost in thought, confused. Unsure how to act around the strange rogue Knight.
                      ......
Most of their journey was carried out in silence, every so often she would forget he was there, until she had to rush because he had stepped too far in-front. One strange place lead to another, until the duo came to a rather large looking house on the side of the road. Akemi felt her stomach growl. It was an inn, with the prospect of a warm bath and bed.
She looked ahead to Fol, before rushing to stay by his side.
"Maybe we should inquire about rooms? Darkness will be on us soon."
                      "Hold."
Akemi raised a hand to stop Fol from going anywhere. She was not one to give up so easily and would not walk away from the chance of a feathered bed for something as small as space. The wolf girl leaned over the counter, looking down at the books with curious eyes, it was a double room. She began to smirk somewhat deviously.
"Is there any other inn's in this town?"
She asked in a rather authoritative voice, she was not messing around and expected short and precise replies from the inn-maiden.
                      "N-no."
The woman shook her head, her voice crackling slightly out of shock. The red-head slammed her hands down on the table and a gesture made her jump. If nothing else, nobody could accuse Akemi of not being direct in order to receive a desired outcome. Suddenly, all eyes were on them and the room was silent, not that she had noticed.
"Does this room have a bathtub?"
The wolf girl jumped forward, resting her feet on the desk and leaning over, her face inches away from the woman's. Her one red eye glowed a brighter shade, so much so it framed the maidens features, illuminating them in a somewhat sinister light.
                      "A... b-bath? Yes."
                      ...
"And Breakfast. Does it come with Breakfast?"
The woman nodded, then stood back a little.
"We will take it. We are not going to find a better deal tonight."
Akemi nodded her head and snatched the keys out of the woman's hand. Half a bed, warm water and the promise of food, she could not ask for anything else. She looked up at Fol and nodded, giving his arm a rather friendly punch... then she shook her wrist because she had momentarily forgot he was wearing steal, her knuckles burned, paying the consequences for her brainfart immediately...
                      "You give up too easily."
She stated, before heading towards the stairs so she could indulge in that long waited bath. Looking behind to make sure she was being followed, afterall, she had no money on her.
But she would keep that one to herself for now.
"What would be the fun in that?"
She shook her head, coming to the door at the end of the corridor. She smiled and slipped the key into the lock... and they were in. She smirked and then stepped through, her eyes scanning the reasonably sized room. It was cosy and had that old fashioned feel designed to make people feel at home. There was even a fireplace.
"This is a bed and breakfast genius, I do not get to eat till morning. So don't get my hopes up!"
She scolded him, resting a hand on her hip whilst the other undid the cloak and threw it over the bed rather casually. After a moment she ran into the smaller room attached and smiled wickedly at the bath, it was everything she had dreamed of. Akemi excitedly grabbed one of the robes that hung from the door and threw it over herself, it was warm and freshly cleaned, what a divine smell!
"These robes are so cute! and the tub is huge! I love this place!"
She turned on the hot water tap and then ran out the room, giving a small spin before flopping back on the bed hard enough to feel herself bounce. The bed was comfortable too...
"You should take all that armor off. You look like an tin-man."
She stated, rolling over on her front and kicking her legs playfully behind her. She rested a hand under her chin and stuck out her tongue, then looked back to the other robe hanging from the door, bigger than hers, but not big enough she expected.
"Then again, I do not think it's going to fit. Hmmmmm."
"Everyone knows wine is the only thing to consume in the bath."
Akemi shorted, like it was a commonly known fact that only idiots would be unaware of. The wolf girl flicked her hair and sunk deeper into the bed, it was not until now she realized how sleepy she was, maybe she would skip the bath all together.
She opened her good eye, watching the man undress with odd curiosity, remaining silent. She realized, besides the men in her pack, the ones who shared her blood, she had never seen one undressed before. It was such an odd thing to come to mind, and she did not understand why it should be any different, but it was... somehow. To her every man had scars, only the settlement maidens bore none. The wolf girl sighed and closed her eyes, resting her head on the blanket. So complicated.
Then she heard it, the threat of loosing her bath. The one she had waited so long for! No. She would not stand for this!
                      "NO!"
She rushed past him, knocking him out the way as she did and almost slipping on the robe he had disregarded. She threw off her own and when she was falling into the water the bones she wore faded into shadow. Then she hit the water, creating a splash. Akemi emerged, holding her legs to her chest to keep herself hidden. Her mask was gone and her ears flattened against the rest of her hair... Underneath it turned out she looked like every other girl, very ordinary with red hair two different eyes. No tail, no ears, no scars, no adornments. Just her.
                      "Haaaaaa-hothothothothothot."
                      She complained.
"My bath.... Now go get me that bottle of wine on the table. This is not relaxing at all."
She sunk back slightly, just enough for her to blow bubbles in frustration.
                      "Whatever."
Akemi wafted her hand and snatched away the bottle, keeping still until she heard the door shut. The next ten minuets were spend lathering her body in vanilla scents and drinking the complimentary wine. She even found some coconut shampoo for her hair, it was all simply to die for! She could not remember smelling this good or feeling this relaxed, not ever! This was awesome, still... her head started spinning, ever so slightly. What was this sensation?
                      "I feel A M A Z I N G! <3"
The woman declared this fact to the universe. She emerged from the bath and shook her body like a feral dog would, her hair loosing just enough moisture to make her ears stick up on end once again. The wolf girl threw on her robe and spun around, looking at her complexion in the mirror. Her skin, it was glowing!
"My skin feels so soft and clean. Oh, how a bath can improve your mood. It is a shame I am going to get all dirty tomorrow as my quest continues, my heart bleeds. Hmmmm."
With a flick of her hand, her mask reappeared on her face. Then, the bathroom door flung open.
                      "DONE."
She stated, flicking her hair and winking at the man she was sharing a room with on this wonderful night!
"The bathroom is yours. Though, I the bath is way to small for you. I only fit in it comfortably! Being so tall must be a pain in the backside."
She raised a hand to her chin and pouted, folding her other one around her waist. She then snapped her fingers! It was light a bulb sparked in her mind!
"But! Lucky for you there is an alternative! When I was a child I was washed ritualistically with a pan and heated water. Allow me to wash you in the way of my ancestors! It shall help strengthen our bond! I hear warriors used to take part in such activities as a mark of respect and manliness. Let's do manly things in a manly way!"
She punched her fist into her other palm, dead serious. Then she stepped back into the bathroom, kicked his robe out into the main room, and pointed down to the empty space infront of her.
                      "Sit."
Akemi was the first to exit the bathroom, her hair almost dry and her neck throbbing with light pain. His teeth had broke her skin, ripped into her flesh. She knew dog's did not leave the cleanest wounds, their teeth were meant to tare things apart and lock into position so their victims could not escape. The girl stoked the new wound that had now stopped bleeding, it would be fine in the morning.
The red head made her way over to the bed before she lazily sprawled across it like a starfish, she closed her eyes, trying to relax and let go of all the feelings the Spiritus had caused, it seemed like she had a lot to think about. Eating hearts was only the beginning, she knew there were many things she was yet to know about these monsters, things that she would not dive into tonight. Fol was being uncooperative and his playful mood seemed to have disappeared to leave behind something more serious. His mood seemed to change on a dime, his tolerance for her included. Now was not a good time to push her curiosities - or her advances.
After a moment she turned over, taking the covers with her so she was wrapped up in a small ball, head resting lazily on the feathered pillow. A real bed, it felt heavenly.
"HEY! Where are you sleeping tonight, I am getting tired."
The wolf girl did not really mind, she loved sharing her bed, lapping in the body warmth of another - However, after what had just happened she would understand if he felt reluctant to be around her, being so close and all.
                      Akemi's stomach growled again.
The pain was getting crippling, she needed to eat. Soon. She stoked her empty belly and let out a disappointed sigh. She had no money for food, nothing in her packs and she doubted that she could hunt anything nearby large enough for her appetite. Especially when she was still malnourished. She was going to die.
She closed her eyes and tried to distract her mind from food. Only to have her nostrils filled with a glorious aroma. Her mouth instantly filled with saliva and her stomach growled once more, this time loud enough to be heard by others in the area.
She followed her nose, sniffing the air enthusiastically. She was going to find the source of that wonderful smell!
Before she knew it she was at a window, a kitchen window at that. Inside the cottage, dinner was bubbling away. The she-b***h licked her lips and slunk through, pulling her dirty, blooded body inside. If she had a tail, it would be wagging right now.
Crossing her legs on the counter she reached out and grabbed a freshly baked loaf.
She held it to her face.
Took in a deep breath to sample the smell.
Then shoved it in her mouth greedily.
Akemi, blissfully unaware of the fact she had company, kept devouring everything she could get her hands on. It was all so lovely looking, so tasty, food, glorious food! She would not stop until she burst! Her complements to the chef!
Then she felt the temperature plummet.
The wolf girl wrapped her arms around her mostly bare frame, her cheeks still filled with food like a hamster. She was freezing all of a sudden. Her head tilted backwards slowly, finally catching a glimpse of the homeowner. She seemed, cheerful.
Akemi swallowed the food that was in her mouth and then twisted her body around to face the other.
There was a moment of silence as the two women stared at each other.
                      Then finally...
"Well, are you going to make a cup of tea or not?"
"Short story. I was hungry and I smelled food."
Akemi stated rather bluntly, licking her lips and leaning back against the kitchen wall quite casually, as if nothing was wrong about this rather odd situation. She was curious, was everyone in this land so opposed to company? It always amused her how they were more likely to feed wild animals than they were other people. Baffling.
"Just think of me as a stray dog coming over for dinner. Everyone likes dogs!"
Even in the streets most avoided eye-contact, yet they would stop and pet a animal. Akemi did not suffer from such a problem, and was desperately trying to look the girl in the eyes, they revealed so much. Maybe if she sensed that she was no threat, the other girl might loosen some of the tension that the she-b***h had noticed in her composure.
"See it as a compliment, Your food smelled better than any other in the area! You are quite a good chef."
Akemi rested a hand on her stomach, she was stuffed, for the moment. Still, she felt a chill to the air which was proving hard to shake off or ignore. She shook her head and looked over the girl, who possessed quite a feminine beauty.
In truth, Akemi did not even notice there was anything wrong with the drink, she did not expect there to be. The cup could contain poison and she would be none the wiser. Maybe not the smartest move on the girls behalf, however she had a weak-spot when it came to food, in her eyes nobody would be despicable enough to to taint such treasured substance. Now when so many went to sleep hungry on a night. Food was innocent. Food was good. Food did not deserve to be tainted for someones personal vendetta.
Her ear flopped a little, tilting her head to the side and smiling as the girl addressed her. Akemi supposed she should tell the girl the truth, afterall she had provided her with a cure for her tummy rumbles. She picked up the cup and blew on it in order to cool the (supposedly) warm liquid. Even the cold sensation running through her fingers did not send alarm bells to the vacant brain of hers, she really was clueless.
"I guess you can say I am a foreigner. I do not know if my old home counts as part of these lands or a different one entirely. But no, I have not been her long at all. The ship got here a couple of weeks ago - I am heading to Poena Privus."
Well, in truth she was heading to the Capital, but taking a little bit of a detour. She had learned that powerful witches lurked in that dark place and she wanted to find them. Though that was her business, not that of a stranger, not many understood her lust for battle - and the girl was far too used to keeping secrets to share that information. Akemi smiled and brought the cup to her lips, tilting it and...
                      What?
                      Why?
She paused for a moment, a very confused expression on her face. Had she forgotten how to drink from a cup? Her mind drew a blank, a long tongue slipping into the cup to test it and... cold? She lowered the item and tilted her head, a hand reached in, sharp fingernails prodding the surface. Now that was not right. This was not just cold it was frozen! Akemi hummed and pouted. Eyes raised slowly to look at the other girl. She was not pleased, that was for sure.
For a moment all was silent.
                      "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."
The laugh was loud, straight from the stomach. Akemi smiled, sliding off the counter and putting the cup on the side. She approached the other, a smile painted across her face, almost in a sinister manor.
"See. I knew under that serious expression you had a sense of humor!"
The red-head stopped infront of the other girl, rested her hands on her luscious hips and bowed her head a little.
                      "Akemi. My name is Akemi."
She lunged forward, in an attempt to dunk her tongue in the girls drink to taint it undrinkable.
So this was it. The long awaited 'training'.
It did not seem like yesterday that her and Ruria had met, the day that she had first learned about an organisation called the Blackhearts. Now she was here, waiting as patiently as she could to meet her teacher, to learn the ropes and maybe one day, become one of the black clad assassins herself. It was always her colour.
Admittedly the Skeleton Generals sales pitch hadn't been.... very persuasive. The loss of limbs, the promise of torture, this so called 'monsterisation process'. Everything the white haired woman had said seemed designed to put her off, or maybe the training was as scary as she made out. Either way she was here and willing to undergo everything despite all the threats and horror stories.
Though, admittedly, the girl was starting to get twitchy. Waiting was never her strong point and she could feel herself getting restless; she wanted to move, she wanted to start now but her teacher was nowhere to be seen. Had she been stud up? She sighed, blowing another bubble from the gum that was keeping her occupied and with any luck, keeping her stomach from growling. She only had time for one breakfast this morning, afterall.
Akemi was feeling her beating from the day before, that Witch Eater had sure done a number on her. It was not often the girl felt her mortality, but she knew now that she would have been a goner if Ruria had not turned up. Maybe now was the time to lay low, her training would start soon and if it was all Ruria made it out to be... She needed to preserve her strength and get better as fast as she could.
This morning her hunger had been merciless, she felt she had tasted from every food establishment in the city. She was well and truly full and now on a long work in the hope of stretching her legs and burning some calories. Her body was still ringing with pain, especially now the drugs had wore off, but she needed to endure. She was never one to stay in bed, or do what she was told for that matter.
Especially when her orders came from men in white coats.
                      Doctors. Hospitals. Needles. Yuck.
About an hour out of the city she decided to take a break. The wolf girl flopped down in the grass, looking up at the blue sky above her. The scent of pollen ticked her nose and her extremely large breakfast was making her sleepy.
Maybe she could close her eyes... just for a moment.
Akemi was finally back after her mission. She had never really seen Makai Castle as a home, she did not live here, nor did she intend to. However this did not mean she did not have to report back and refresh her gear. The wannabe Blackheart in training was tired, it was long past midnight before she returned to the grounds and she was battered and broken from the last assault. She entered the main hall and went to turn into the Barracks, however she soon stopped to look at the long staircase that lead to the Academy. She sensed something... dark. How could that be? Marcus? No. Who would dare to enter the home of the Knights?... bold and foolish. The red-head sighed, it looked like she would get no sleep tonight.
She walked up the grand staircase. Ears twitching in anticipation, her heightened sense of smell making her nostrils dance as she walked. Blood, she smelt blood. This was so troublesome! She was not meant to be in this place or interact with the students, however she was sure more trouble would follow if the ignored the threat. Never the less, she decided to sneak around, be it a false alarm. These damn Knights and their rules, everything always had to be so complicated for no reason. She sighed again, still stiff, still aching... but ready to fight again if need be.
Before long she found herself in the dorms. She walked from door to door. Lurking, listening, stepping as lightly as she could. What were these students up to? Something that smelt a lot more sinister than underage fondling it seemed. It was not long before she found the door that she needed, she paused for a moment, and then put her hand on the handle, pushing it open and stepping inside. Without knocking, ofcourse.
Balancing two opposing sides was tough at times.
Spend too much time with the Spiritus, the Blackhearts will grow suspicious. Get too far up the ranks of the Blackhearts, then the Spiritus would hear about it. Seeing as she had spent an extraordinary amount of time in the castle these past couple of weeks, she thought it was about time she brought in some Witch Eaters to avoid suspicion. The red-head had been on their tracks for the past couple of days, studying them, lurking in the shadows. learning their ways and motivations. Ruria once said that you need to know your enemy, however that was difficult when you did not know who was your friend.
Akemi stood at the entrance to the cave, the blackness of the shadows reaching up to wrap around her feet and slowly pull her under, sinking into the black like quicksand it was not long until the girl was gone entirely. Gone to where they were hiding, gone to see what her future victims were up to. The inside of the cave was damp and dark, to the side there was an open fire surrounded by blankets, chests and cooking utensils. All that you needed to sustain a somewhat normal life in this place. A normal life for Outlaws at least. When you consumed a heart... there was just no place for you in civilization anymore. All that you had to look forward to was the hunt and your creeping demise, it made her wonder why they even bothered.
The trainee Blackheart was quiet, still engulfed in the Shadowy haze she had summoned earlier. They were not here? Interesting. Where or where could they be? What were they up to? She shook her head and smirked, they were so troublesome. She turned to re-enter the darkened portal she had come from, but stopped when she heard a noise echoing down the tunnel. There was a secondary light. Akemi backed up against the wall, hiding to observe the return of the rats.
Akemi leaned back against the bolder she has propped herself against. This was it. She knew it in her gut.
The Witch-Eater was stronger, faster and more powerful that she was, still the she-b***h had refused to run. Now she did not have enough energy to create a portal to safety, she even doubted her ability to stand. Blood tricked down her face, pooling in the crease of her breasts. Bleeding. It felt kind of nice at this point, there was something soothing to feel the liquid trickle down her frame.
She was so tired, all she wanted to do was sleep. However she knew it was game over if she did. She spat the metallic tasting liquid from her mouth and cursed softly.
"Come out come out wherever you are."
The Witch-Eater cooed. His attire was also stained in blood, he had not been unscathed from the combat, maybe he had underestimated her. Picking her out as a weak target, a girl lost in the woods who turned out to be more trouble than he could imagine. She had heard stories in a nearby town of a monster lurking in the darkness, stealing young girls, using them to satisfy his desires before ripping out their hearts and leaving them for dead.
An old wives tale, or so she thought.
                      "There you are!"
Akemi's head snapped back to see his face just above her own. Damn it. She gritted her teeth and let out a low pitched growl. He pouted.
"Shuuuush. You have been quite a troublesome meal. Now be a good little dog and stay still."
Akemi barked with laughter, spitting in the mans eye. That sparked his temper. The Witch-Eater struck downwards but Akemi managed to find the strength to roll out of the way. She was not going to lay down and except her death, if she was going to fall prey to this monster she would go down fighting! She tried to summon her claws, but she shadows faded as soon as they formed. She could not even form spells anymore.
Akemi looked ahead, just in time to see the monster lunge for her.
Akemi braced herself, but the hit never came.
The wolf girl opened her eyes, only to see that someone else had come to her rescue. It was a hit to her pride, which to most might seem somewhat important in a situation like this, but not to Akemi. She felt like she had been punched in a way quite different to what she was expecting.
"Please stay as still as possible...You are in no shape to assist, and I fear if you try, you may only acquire more injuries."
The she-b***h's head snapped upwards. She did not know what to do, the girl said stay put, but ever cell in her body was telling her to stand up and fight. As the two witches indulged in battle-side banter, Akemi gritted her teeth, ashamed of her own weakness. She tried to thrust herself back onto her feet, only to have her hands stabilize her, stopping the girl from eating a face-full of dirt. She couldn't move.
                      Damn it.
The red-head looked up, just in time to see the blades pierce the Witch-Eater in all directions. Akemi froze, looking on the scene with wide eyes. For a moment she stopped struggling and watched the man bleed out on the ground, staining the lush grass red. She was so engrossed in the scene she did not notice the girl knell next to her. Akemi's eyed darted to meet her own, and for a moment there was silence.
                      No.
She would not allow herself to be carried back like some injured animal. Never the less, she accepted the woman's water with a small nod of gratitude. After a moment she pushed onto her feet, rather shakily. After another she had regained her balance and put one foot infront of the other.
Akemi shuffled over to the corpse of the Witch-Eater, for now ignoring the others question. There was something more important she needed to do. She looked down at him, then after a moment stomped on his face out of frustration, again and again. Anger making her forget the hurt, making her embrace it as punishment for her failure.
"YOU SON OF A b***h. THEY WERE LITTLE GIRLS, ALL OF THEM. THEY DID NOT STAND A CHANCE. HOW DARE YOU LIVE FOR SO LONG. HOW DARE YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO BREATHE THE AIR MEANT FOR THEM. YOU b*****d."
She did not know what she was more angry about, the crimes he committed or the fact that Akemi was not the one able to land the final blow. She did not stop until his head popped under the force of her heel, the shock went up her leg and made the girl stumble back, still she sunk her feet into the ground. She had been on the floor enough for one day.
It was then that she remembered she had company. She composed herself, not wanting to admit how hard standing was. She relaxed her face, trying to hide the pain.
"No. I thought he was an old wives tale, a monster made up by mothers to stop their daughters from wandering too deep into the woods. If I had known there was any truth behind the rumor I would have though. Maybe things would have been different if he did not get the jump on me. Coward."
He was strong. Akemi could respect his power, but not his will. Preying on the weak, striking in the darkness. He was a coward, and died in pain. That had to be enough justice for now. Akemi was not a sore looser, but loosing on unfair terms has sparked a rage inside her.
"I am sorry, you should have not had to jump to my aid."
Apologizing for her weakness seemed more necessary to Akemi than thanking the other for her actions. Akemi flipped her hair, breaking the bonds between it and the blood that had stuck it to her face.
"I owe you my maidenhood and my life. I intend to pay you back for both. Miss....?"
A life lusting for strength? No. She lusted for nothing less than perfection.
It was then that the other girl pushed her to the ground. The red-head landed on her bum with a slight THUD, the air rushing form her lungs. Akemi pouted, spitting more blood to the side of her, she must have lost a tooth.
                      "Pushy."
She mumbled, running her tongue over her teeth to make sure they were all accounted for, and they all were. Thank God. Well... then why was her mouth filling up with blood again? She must have bit her cheek. Akemi was in deep concentration, trying to find the source of her bleeding.
She was completely unaware of the fact she was slowly being decorated with cutesie looking skulls. Not that she would have complained. Like Ruria, Akemi shared a love of macabre themed turned adorable. No doubt she would come to appreciate the bandages when she regained her concentration, but blood loss had made her light headed and dreamy. It was not until she heard the girl stutter that her search for the cut in her mouth ended. Akemi looked on for a moment vacantly.
                      ....
                      Then started laughing uncontrollably.
That kind of laugh that comes straight from ones stomach, loud and uncontrollable. Boisterous.
                      "I-it hurts. Goodness, it hurts!"
She exclaimed, punching the floor next to her. Trying her best to control her giggles. She liked this one. She made her laugh. Akemi wrapped her arms around herself, snuggling her -barely existent- breasts and making kissy face.
"Ooooooh. A Knight, eeeeh? Sounds exciting."
She winked at the other. Muscular frame. Sturdy armor. Large, ahem, weapon. She could not blame the girl for liking such a figure, Knights were damn hot in her opinion. Akemi let out a deep breathe, finally calming down from her fit of laughter and using her arms to stabilize her. The she-b***h crossed her legs, and looked on the other with more serious eyes.
"So, it's your job to eradicate nasties, and you are no Knight, what does that make you then? Don't tell me you are some wandering do-gooder mage, kitted out in battle lingerie! My pride would not take such a wound. No... you are too powerful for that. I can smell it. There is no shame in being bested by a character like you."
The woman gave a devilish grin as she awaited the reply.
Akemi smirked at the girls protest, raising her eyebrow at the moments made about her attire.
"Don't huff. I'm on your side, silly!"
Akemi chuckled, sticking her tongue out at the girl in playful jest. She was cute, it was hard to imagine she had impaled a man not five minuets ago. She nodded and hummed as she explained her position, tilting her head to the side like a curious pup.
"A Blackheart? I have heard that term before. You're a huntress, of sorts?"
Akemi had lived a very sheltered life. The way's of the world were lost on her. Were as others would recognize such an organization, she did not. Though she tried her best to keep her confusion and curiosity to herself. It was hard for her to admit to these things. She smirked when asked what she was and gave a small shrug.
"Vigilante? No. Just some wandering pilgrim. I was heading towards Poena Privus, before that a*****e jumped me. I hear there are some strong warriors there. I want to see how I match my strength against their own."
It was a part truth. She was heading that way, but it was not by any means her destination.
The she-b***h closed her eyes, and then once again stumbled to her feet.
                      "That sounds very... official."
Akemi rubbed the back of her head and gave a nervous chuckle at Ruria's explanation. That did sound exciting, maybe a little morbid. Her mood soon lightened with a small giggle at the name the girl had given. How odd!
"The Skeleton General? Hmmm... In that case you can call me The Red Hurricane."
Akemi had minimal knowledge of games. The reference went right over her head. Never the less, she offered a title equally as outrageous. The lights behind the hallows of her mask burned brighter with the question. Did she value strength? Obviously.
                      "I like fighting."
                      She put bluntly.
"Nose busting. Bone breaking. Lip splitting. Muscle flexing. High kicking, Swift punching. Rib shattering. Tooth chipping. Back breaking. Pelvis cracking. Skull crushing - Battle."
Akemi took the girls hand and pulled herself up, resting a hand on her hip quite casually after her balance was restored. The excitement in her voice was unmissable.
"I want to be known across the land as a great warrior. So one day, little runts like me will seek me out to prove their value."
The she-b***h looked up at the sun. The day was still young and the brightness of the day only fueled her motivation. She might have been battered and bruised, but all this talk was getting her pumped for battle.
"I do value strength. I also value determination and ambition, and one day the very Earth itself will tremble before me."
She winked at The Skeleton General before resting a hand on her shoulder.
"Now if you do not mind. I am lost and itching for a bawl."
"INDEED. MY MASK IS THAT OF A BONE-WOLF. A MOST FEARSOME CREATURE."
Akemi let a rather toothy smirk consume her lips. She placed delicate fingers onto her mask, and nudged it slightly to draw the girls attention to her face, bright red eyes shinning brightly from behind it. It was amazing the added confidence such a thing could provide. As long as she was wearing this she was the Hurricane and nothing could touch her.
"My catchphrase.... Hmm. I guess... knowing me, it should be something very intimidating indeed! I will get back to you on that one. Skeleton General. Unless you have any suggestions?"
Akemi listened to what Ruria had to say. People wanting her dead? Well that was sure to come with the territory. Yet, it was not something that scared her, or something she had given very much thought to at all. It was a very black and white topic.
"Haha. Well if someone comes along wanting to snuff out my life and I fail, I guess I was not strong enough to live. I have to make sure that does not come to pass, and always get stronger!"
The girl looked over, rather curious at the Blackheart's suggestion. Formal training? Would that life suit her? It was an interesting suggestion, one that nobody should take lightly. Still, it had sparked a curiosity.
"Training? Me? Hmmm. Maybe that is something I could look into, sounds like a challenge. A promising one at that. I am always looking for the chance to improve my techniques."
Hospital? She did not like the sound of that. Akemi hated hospitals. She never seemed to visit them after victory, instead she dwelled in defeat, looking up at the ceiling form a white bed. No, they were not for her. Just as she was trying to come up with an excuse for dismissing the hospital, her stomach let out a loud growl. A reason had presented itself.
"Maybe. I just need some food and I will be fine. Sooooo hungry! Take me to a restaurant instead!"
The she-b***h smiled, following behind the other girl
Akemi tried to come up with a smart remark to throw back at the guard. However her mind was still hazy from trauma and refused to send her mouth a witty remark. Instead she just stood, rather unstably, behind Ruria and pouted.
                      "So pushy."
She sighed under her breath, slender fingers finding their way to her temples, which she began to massage rhythmically. After seeing the other girls glare Akemi gave up. She let out a loud huff of dissatisfaction, rested her hands on her hips and agreed to the torturous molestation of doctors and nurses.
"Okay. If that is what the Skeleton General commands. It seems like I am destined for the hospital. You better make sure they are stocked up, I will be a grouchy puppy without my pudding."
                      ..........
An hour or so later Akemi was banished to an afternoon in bed. They had taken everything from her, her mask, her armor, even her undergarments! She sat in the accident and emergency ward, bandages scattered all over her body. A girl with red hair and red eyes wearing a white robe. She had never felt so.... exposed and intimidating. She hated it.
                      "I can't breathe."
Akemi complained. She was not used to wearing anything around her stomach area and the sudden bandage which wrapped around her mid-region was most uncomfortable.
"All this fuss over a few cuts and bruises. They wonder why people are always thinking they are sick and dying, it is this mothering mentality which feeds the hypochondria. Just get on with it I say."
She sighed. Wondering if it was her who had it wrong and that she infact needed to be treated like such a delicate flower. She hated pity. She hated defeat and she hated this. With one last shake of her head the she-b***h threw a pot of pudding at the girl who had escorted her.
                      "Hey.... General."
She called to get her attention.
"I was wondering about that training.... Would you help me find a teacher? This whole encounter has got me thinking... I think I need to learn from something other than bar brawls and battles with bandits if I want to achieve my goal."
"I thought you would appreciate it more. Sheesh."
Akemi shrugged her shoulders, a large mischievous smile coming to her lips. This one liked pudding, she would remember that. She sat up in the bed, folding her arms and listening to Ruria talk with a curious glimmer reflected in her eyes.
                      "I don't scare easily."
Whatever this instructor looked like, she was sure she had seen worse. Akemi was amendment that she had stared the devil in the eyes before today, no creature would fill her heart with as much fear and sadness as the one that had haunted her for so many years. No fouler beast had ever existed, nor ever will. Still, she continued to listen to the General talk, pausing for a moment after she had finished pleading her case.
She was the one that had suggested the training, now it seemed like she wanted to detour her. Akemi sighed and rested her arm over her eyes, letting her body loose tension for the first time today. The painkillers were kicking in, she was starting to feel drowsy.
"Sounds like only a fool would choose such a life. I have been called a fool many times before."
The she-b***h smiled at the statement. Maybe she was s a fool. It would not surprise her. After a moment she straightened herself up again, leaning forward to wrap her arms around her knees and hug them close.
                      "Don't worry about me."
The words escaped her lips softly, in a somewhat more feminine tone than was accustom of the wolf woman.
She did not know why Ruria was worried, it was really impossible for her to care so much about the condition of a stranger, wasn't it? Maybe she did not think she was capable of such a thing. Maybe she was hurting deep down, maybe the training had caused her wounds that Akemi herself could not understand. The truth was, she knew nothing about the General, not even her real name. At the same time, this girl knew nothing about her either.
Getting stronger. It was all Akemi lived for anymore.
.... It was something she would die for.
                      Without regret or hesitation.
"You are... Very intense. You could incinerate a person with words alone."
Akemi shook her head. She would feel a cold shiver run down her spine and desperately wanted to lighten the mood. She would rather face physical torment than hear about other peoples experiences. Sometimes it was better to just endure than worry, to not know what was coming your way. She smiled at the others comment about the pudding, she liked this kid, she had a sense of humor, which made the dark undertones she kept sensing even more bizarre. She was adorable and deadly at the same time, a concept the wolf girl was having a hard time coming to terms with.
"I swear, no other pudding will ever be harmed by-"
She began, but then stopped abruptly. Her eyes widened as the others teeth dug into her meat. Nobody stole meat off her plate, pudding was one thing. This was just cruel!
"HEY. YOU ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE CRIPPLED!"
Akemi pointed her finger in accusation before leaping from her bed. She tackled the other girl, wrapping her legs around her waist and licking her lips to retrieve the little bit of gravy that remained on her pale pink pout. She would not let one drop go to waste! Not one drop!
"Then again. The subtle undertone of skin has always pleased me. Has your knight ever eaten from your frame. General?"
Akemi was on the warpath, Ruria's thievery singing the declaration. What has she learned about the girl? The Knight was a touchy subject, and her best plan of attack. She would pay for this! Nobody messed with her food!
Akemi let out another loud laugh, it was strong, annoying, and seemed to come directly from her stomach, her whole body shook with it. Maybe somewhere down the line she was breed with a banshee, nobody would doubt it from the sounds that sometimes escaped the lips of the wolf woman.
Her legs clutched around Ruria with the strength of a Mexican masked wrestler. The more the girl struggled, the more she clamped down, her impressive thigh strength coming into action. It was a death grip.
                      "ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT!"
The woman gasped jokingly, and then continued to chuckle. Even past the moment the two ended up on the floor, rolling around like two crazed beings. When the nurse came in Akemi froze, holding Ruria in what could be seen as a rather dirty position. Her laugh cut off.
Before she knew it she had slunk back into bed, pulling the covers up to her nose and making a whimpering noise much like a dog that had been kicked. That was until the nurse has excited, after that the best course of action was simply to stick out her tongue, because everyone knows that is the most mature way to go about these things.
"I can not take this! I am a caged animal! A dog with a chain! Please General, break me out of this place! Is my feisty nature proof that I am well enough to be on the outside!"
                      She whimpered more and begged.
"I think we should find a cafe, eat some cake, drink some tea and you can tell me more about your duties. Like you say you hunt bad things, what bad things? Is it just people like the chap we met earlier. I have heard of Witch Eaters before, but never encountered one. I know very little about these threats. I mean, I will battle anything but... knowing your enemy. Someone great said something about that once...
                      ..... I think."
                      She was clueless.
She could leave? The girl smirked and leaned up in bed, just about ready to make a run for it - however, she soon realized she couldn't - Not if she did not want to expose her bare backside to the world, Akemi might not wear much, but even she saw exposed cheeks as unacceptable!
"But they took my clothes! The heathens!"
Akemi paused and looked to the side, only to observe the look of displeasure on the face of the nurse. Yet she did not get scolded again, the older woman just pointed to the set of draws next to the bed and left the room once more. Akemi stuck out her tongue in retaliation, it seemed nobody wanted to keep her here, and that was just fine! She leaned over and pulled the draw open slightly, and there they were. The red-head got out of the bed and with one swift sweep threw her bed gown across the room, exposing more of herself than anyone really needed to see.
She reached into the draw and brought her mask to her face, just in time to hear the 'c' word. Akemi gasped, her other hand raising to cover her breasts, a red aura tainting her cheeks and admitting heat.
                      "C-cute! I am a fierce warrior!"
She was not cute! She had never been called cute! A cute little girl? She was offended! She was outraged! If she was not so... Naked.... She would have shown her a thing or two! However she knew that damn nurse would walk in at the wrong time, and probably get her arrested for sexual assault! No, she would have to get dressed first, then kick the Skeleton General in the head for her words at a later point.
She paused on hearing her story, covering the last of her indecency. Her eyes looked at the girl curiously, the woman once again taking a seat on the edge of the bed. There was a pause.
"I- Do not know what to say. I would say that all experiences provide at least some use, even the bad ones. However, I do not think bad experiences are talked about with such a smirk like that. You liked it... Pervert."

Evidence - Stage Two -> Stage Two. (Part Two)

Akemi was beyond pleased with herself, she had come across supper! It was sunrise when the she-b***h left the city, sent on a mission to explore the Rift and bring back the head of one of the creatures that lurked within. Honestly, she was getting sick of this s**t. The Blackhearts had her doing all kinds of pointless tasks, justifying them as tests of her ability. They did not take her seriously yet and she knew this most recent mission was just another ploy to get rid of her for a few days. She would show them.
She sighed, taking another bite out of the apple she was currently munching. She had come across a girl in the woods; one of those pretty ones all dressed in lace and ruffles, curves in all the right places, long flowing locks.... totally uninteresting. On looking a little closer she noticed she was carrying a basket, filled with freshly picked fruit and herbs. Akemi's constant hunger had gotten the best of her. She had scared off the girl, stolen her basket and in a flash climbed the closest tree for some privacy. She had been indulging in the spoils for the past quarter of hour. It was getting dark, maybe she should start thinking about finding shelter for the night.
Then again... Maybe a nocturnal hunt would be better?
Before long, she once again had company; her fluffy red ears twitched at the sound of the others voice. “Hmm?” A small humming noise escaped her throat curiously, her head tilting to one side in an almost lazy manor. With another bite the apple was down to its core, she threw it in the others direction in order to indicate her own. “Don’t act as if I am hiding if you are too lazy to look.” She stated, leaning forward and falling until her feet landed firmly on the ground.
She threw the basket towards the man before she rested a hand on her hip. “I am guessing that belongs to your friend.” She stated with quite a devilish smirk. The women of this country, so easy to scare, so dependent on their males...
Only one or two had come to surprise her, the rest seemed like a docile race. She loved scaring them, many a maiden she had threatened to drag into the forest, take them for her own and then eat them. Monsters, people saw them everywhere these days. The red orb visible through her mask glowed deeper, on closer inspection, this was no ordinary witch. He had an interesting look about him, maybe she would have moved on if that was the case, alas her curiosity spiked. “That is a rather interesting set of ears you have.” She stated, raising a hand to point to her own.
“A Lord huh?” She cocked her head to the side, slightly amused by his comment. She looked down at her short kimono, picking up the sides and giving... the best curtsey she could giving the material she was working with, though it was more of a joke than a genuine act. “Akemi.... No title. No lands - Nothing.” She shrugged before she took the hint and started to follow, arms resting behind her head casually.
“I see. That is a rather odd set-up you have going on there. Though, each to their own. You are clearly doing fine without.” She stated. Playthings? Something told her he was not talking about chess. Was he some kind of brothel owner or Dominant? She raised her eyebrow at his suggestion; she has asked if the other girl was his friend, not if she could become one. “Really? Why would I change that if you have lived up to now without? I doubt you have been waiting around all these years for me to come and make a break-through that nobody else has managed.”
Then his hands came towards her and she found herself stopping and standing back slightly, her own hands reaching up to flatten them against her head. “N-no. You don’t just meet a girl and ask to touch her ears! No wonder you don’t have any friends! I mean you have not even offered me cake or anything.” He decided to leave out the fact about it being rather pleasurable. There was nothing like a good tickle behind your ears from time to time.
“You sound like an experienced trader when it comes to such things. Tell me, how much does beauty and blood go for these days?” Akemi asked rather curiously. What an interesting concept. She did not know either was worth very much at all. Maybe she had been overlooking some grand opportunity all this time, maybe he had some leverage that came free to her.
What a strange man. Never the less, his comments on women shamed her. The people of this country, they were always keen to disappoint. Were the females of this land so weak? “I don’t know. What if I do not want to say your thinking? Your life is none of my business, and wanting to change the views of a man I know nothing about.... well, it does not sound right to me. I mean, I do not have many -if any- friends myself, it would seem almost hypocritical.” She shrugged. Ruria was the closest thing she had to a friend, and she barely knew her. Loneliness had never bothered the she-wolf before, she did not see solitude and disconnection as the huge heartache that others did.
It was character building, if anything.
“It is every creature’s nature to want more. Though, I am curious, what is it that you lack?” She stated, stopping to converse with the man some more, only to have his taller frame looming over her. “Well then, I suppose that is only fair.” She mumbled to herself, what was the worst that could happen? Truthfully, she did not want to touch his ears as much as she wanted the promise of cake when they got to his home. She went to reach up to his face, but then stopped. Home? “Is that where we are going?”
“I see. Interesting.” Akemi rested a hand on her chin, her eyes serious, consumed by thought. It seemed there was a price for everything these days. Still, it was worth knowing the value of all your assets. You never know when such information might come in use.
She rested a hand on her hip, smirking at his offer. Name her price? He would regret that. “I am afraid I am a little tougher to bargain with. The meal, bath and bed will be donated by you generously in order to open negotiations. Though I assure you, if you can provide me what I want, then you will receive more than a few drops.” Her eyes glistened mischievously, there was only one thing in this world Akemi wanted, and to be quite blunt she would allow this creature to drain her to an inch of her life if he could grant her it. Was he some kind of genie? She wondered. No, but he was powerful. She could sense that.
“If you are such a business man, that small show of good faith would well be worth the profit that could await you, yes?”
She caught sight of his fangs, she was right, he was no normal witch. So what was he? The question enticed her somewhat. “It seems like our ambitions are already somewhat interlinked.” She let out a light chuckle, she was always weary of making bonds with others, at the end of the day she was a woman who acted out of her own interest. Never the less, he seemed to be fighting for the same tomorrow she was. A word far more feral than the one she was trapped in.
In that moment she was dragged towards him, her hand resting on his chest. He was cold. Her eyes widened slightly, he was right! There was no heartbeat! Her head snapped up to look at him; she had never met this kind of creature before! Was he a demon? Demons could grant great wished! Or so she was told.
She paused as his finger touched her ear, her body shuddering and her breath hitching in her throat. Her ears were a new addition; the sensation was still so new and raw. She stepped closer to him, an excited look painted on her face. “Well then. Your place it is, M’lord. We have things to discuss, it seems.” She was not going to miss this chance. It was not every day you got to dance with the devil.
“Indeed.” She nodded, refusing to budge on the basics, she had a minimum requirement and that was nonnegotiable. Luckily for her, he seemed to take said news rather well. “I am willing to take a chance, if your services are not of a quality I fully intend to walk away from our arrangements.” She nodded firmly. She was never one to show weakness, especially when she was playing a game. She was determined to come out of this situation with the best possible deal!
He had other matters to deal with? That was fine, she never asked for his company and a little bit of peace and quiet would get her in the right mindset, let her collect her thoughts and come up with a battle strategy for when their wits collided. She listened to his story, listened to his words, was he trying to intimidate her? No, he was playing a game also. “I am a woman of my word, when something is taken I will not be wanting it back, only idiots come to regret their actions. I assure you I am no idiot. Besides... who said you would like the way -I- negotiate, hmm?” She winked.
“I have never seen a dead man talk.” She replied. “I have met a Spiritus, briefly. He felt very much alive, unlike you. You are full of surprises it seems.” She stated, looking away rather awkwardly as he kissed her knuckles, not used to such gentle shows of affection. Her eyes snapped back over to him quickly though, that playful smirk arising on her lips. “This changes nothing. I will not be distracted by what you are; my eyes are firmly set on what you have to offer. Everything else... variables, at best.”
Akemi stepped forward. "So, shall we get going? The sooner I am in the tub, the sooner you can go about your.... things."
Perhaps she did, perhaps she did not.
“A bath first for you, furs for me- then was can open negotiations hrm?”
“We shall see. I do not promise anything just yet, but the offer is considered... and appreciated.” Stay for a few days? Well, it was not like she had anything better to do. It depended on the quality of his food, the softness of his bed and the deal they would strike. Anything could happen at the moment. It was exciting; it was hard for her to control her heartbeat or the spark that could be seen in her eyes.
Before long his home came into view, she stopped a moment, took back by its grandeur. Yet she soon snapped herself out of it and continued to follow after the Spiritus. “Of course, a sample will be provided. Patience M’Lord. The night is still young!” She shook her finger, almost in a motion to scold him. She was not giving away any free samples; the longer he waited the sweeter she would taste - the better deal he might be willing to make.
Akemi listened to him as they walked. Monsters? Devils? They rang a familiar tone. It brought back memories of pitch folks, the smell of smoke, howls of abuse and vile words. “Yes. I understand.” She stated rather bitterly. Destiny was something that had plagued her existence for far too long, she too had suffered under the circumstances of her birth. “It seems you have a mission ahead of you. Me on the other hand, I am quite content with being a monster. Maybe if I showed them how horrifying their kin can be, they will stop looking at you in such a light? They are always more reluctant, to see the evil in their own kind. It is easy to blame a monster.” She shrugged.
Wanting to lighten the mood he ran ahead into the entrance, the girl from before stepped back slightly, shocked to see her by the looks of things. “Sounds like a plan. I am sure you will seek me out when your business is done?” She asked, resting a hand on her hip before turning to the girl. “Your Lord has offered me a bath and a room, would you be so kind?” Akemi winked at the girl, who nervously looked her masters way before walking ahead to act as a guide.
Akemi looked at Marcus, tilting her head to the side and making a small peace sign. “Do not be too long. You will not have as much fun if you leave me to get tired and grouchy!”
Akemi looked at him rather confused. Time? She did not understand the meaning of his words, still unaware of the unnatural life of a Spiritus. She thought for a moment, was it because he was dead? What is dead can never die, yes, she presumed that must be it. Akemi rather disliked this conversation about humans, it was hitting far too close to home for her liking. The she-b***h clenched her fist, nails making an imprint in her palm. Her past might not be the reason why she fought, however the anger she still held towards her family was often called for in the heat of battle. It had made her who she was. In the end she looked away, taking in a deep breath and counting to ten slowly in her head.
“Do not worry, I would never think of making a mess of someone else’s home, or the people that reside in it.” Akemi smirked and looked at the girl, she caught her staring, but her eyes soon flickered away. The wolf girl let out a small chuckle, and followed behind in silence, leaving the Lord to his business.
They arrived at the room in which she would be staying the night. Akemi was not very picky when it came to accommodation, but she could appreciate a nice room, and to her this was a nice room. Then again, she was used to sleeping rough, any room for a nice room to her at this point. With a small bow of her head the girl left, she could not wait to get away it seemed. Akemi smirked; maybe she intimidated her a little? Never the less, when the wolf girl found herself alone she started to go about her own business.
First things first, only one candle was lit in the room, which was far too little light for Akemi’s tastes. The red head opened the curtains to show the moon, and then went about lighting every candle she could find in the room and attached bathroom. When the room was illuminated to her liking she started to draw herself a bath, making sure the water was painfully hot to touch, the girl liked her baths HOT: the kind of baths that made your skin red and steamy whilst causing dizziness. If you could walk in a straight line afterwards she counted the bath as unsatisfying!
“Sounds good, don’t worry, we will both have full stomachs before long” She nodded, a meal sounded nice, not as nice as that bath though. For once hunger was over-powered by her lust for hot water. Akemi shook her head. “No. I just do not know what the mortally-challenged liked to be called, is it a body, or a corpse? I hear ones wording is very important to you civilized sorts. Besides, I do not scare easily, especially not men wearing ruffles.” She smirked, resting her chin on the palm of her hand, he was so amusing.
For a less modest reason? How bold. “I have not given myself to any man; that is one thing that will not be freely given. However if you can behave, I see there no reason why we should not bathe and... if it is pleasure you are after, arrangements can be made. As you said, the more you offer, the more you gain.” She stood up from the bed, looking over at the man who was wrapped up in quilts. Did he feel the cold? Did his skin still feel all the sensations of her own? Akemi moved over to the bathroom, turning the tap back on to continue filling the tub, steam was rising. “Well, you have shown me your generosity. I suppose I could provide you with some information in return.”
She sat on the edge of the bath, wondering where to start. Her story was not one she shared very often. “I do not want to bore you; so I will tell you the short version. I am a Barghest Malificarum, a witch, but one with a technique that is special to my family. I guess you can think of me a little like a werewolf, a little like a ghost. My family was a savage one, we hunted young boys, we stole maidens, terrorized a nearby village for generations, they feared us an d sacrificed many children so our wrath would not fall on them. I was born the Maiden of Baskeville, the heir to the throne, a pure-blood. My line was never tainted by the stolen girls, my line always bred with family members, outside a certain number of generations of course, in order to keep the bloodline pure and our powers strong. Anyway, for various reasons I was seen as an unfit ruler, my father instructed me to die – to take my shame to the grave. I have been defying that order ever since.” She looked away from him for a moment, letting out a small sigh before composing herself once more.
She crossed her legs, she had to remember, this was all still a game and she was still marketing what she had to offer. She let her bath robe fall of her shoulders slightly, arms keeping the material secure to her chest. Akemi might have been a maid, but the idea of flirting and foreplay was not something unknown to her. “So you see. My blood, it’s special, I am a virgin maid and never in my ancestry has of pure-bred laid with anyone other than another one of their kind. As you can imagine, my price will be high, depending on how much of me you want. Everything before you can be bought.”
“Call yourself what you will. It is your caste. Your title is your own to choose.” Akemi shrugged, her eyes watching him closely as he approached. All things have a price, true, however some things were more expensive than others. “Don’t worry about it. It is a good line to live by.”
                      .
Akemi listened to his story, so many traditions, and so many odd ways of going about thinks. In her own opinion, everyone should be allowed to bed who they wanted and the word marriage should be stuck from the world altogether. It seemed to cause so much trouble, surly it was never worth it? “I do not intent to remain such; I just do not think the promise of pleasure is enough to justify ruining me.”
                      .
She noticed he licked his lips. He was interested it seemed? She smirked. Negotiating was a rather pleasurable experience; it had been a while since she found someone so willing to play her games. No. It had been a while since she found someone to be such a pleasant opponent. “I am a b***h. The word has never held any offense to me.” Though he was wrong, she could not change into a wolf, it was half the reason the pack turned its back on her. “If you say so Marcus, I know very little Poetry. Though I have to admit, it feels like SOMETHING brought us together.” Today was her lucky day it seemed, if he could provide all she thought him capable of.
“Thank you. I shall make note to thank my father for my genes.” Or she would, if she had not killed him all those years ago.
It looks like it was his turn to make an offer. “I live for battle Marcus. I love to fight. I love to kill. I am a weapon and my purpose in life is to get stronger. I want the world to tremble before me. To have spirited young fighters seek me out to prove themselves. To have stories of my victories past down till the end of time. I want Power.” She stated, leaning over to turn off the tap. The bath almost overflowing.
“And I want answers. I know very little of your kind, I want to know more. I want to pick your brain. Learn from you.” She stood up from the tub, resting a hand on her hip. “If you can provide me with both these things, then I will consider giving you everything I have to offer. I will let you bleed me to an inch of my life; let you into my bed to ravish me however you desire, like a good little pet. Though if you wish to share it again at a later time, it will cost you extra.” She winked. He was buying the milk, not the cow.
Akemi raised her finger to her mouth, biting down onto her skin with her fangs until it tore. She held it out to the man, a droplet of blood staining her lips and forming around the open cut. “Your sample.”
“The dead are dead because they were too weak to live. As for your heart, I do not want it. I do not seek to be loved, I never have. I might ask you for impossible things from time to time, but I will never ask for that. It is probably black and shrivelled anyway.” She rested a hand on her chest. She could feel her heartbeat but knew it should be still, it had been broken, abused, torn out and spat on before today - It might be just as cracked and rotten as his for all she knew. No, Akemi did not want love, she would never accept a normal life, and she would never settle down and find happiness with someone else. She would rather live for the moment, drain happiness and pleasure were she found it... and become strong. The strongest that ever lived.
Her eyes glistened with excitement. He was promising her death, a steady flow of death. He wanted to see her monstrous side? She would show it to him. “I will destroy everything you send my way. Tell them defeating me will allow them to live freely, make them fight me with everything they have; with hatred and desperation. Make them want to break my bones, spill my blood and I will put one after the other in the ground. Turn me into a demon, I live for killing, Marcus. You can destroy the sun for all I care; I will just feast in the dark.” There was a wicked smile on her face, one that could only belong to a mad woman. She was excited, he could promise her power, he could provide it. In truth, she did not care what he thought of her or her goals, it was not his opinions she desired.
The noise that he made caused her to blush, though in her mind she blamed it on the heat from the bath. Akemi was never one to fear much, the thought of death made her laugh and the promise of pain tended to excite her. However, this was different; this was not a battle but an act of.... She did not even know. Maybe she had avoided it all these years because the thought of a man dominating her body scared her slightly, maybe because the whole act made her feel rather awkward and nervous. She inhaled, she had braved the lion’s den before, this was nothing, she could do this.... She could do this for power and despite it all, she was actually quite curious, maybe even excited in an odd way. She had always wondered what it would feel like.
“I am a woman of my word.” She assured him, fair is fair and a bargain had been struck. “But Marcus, if you do not provide what you have promised. I will rip you apart any way I can... until you are deader than you are now. I can promise you that also.” She felt his hand on her chin and the next she knew his lips were on her own and his tongue was in her mouth. He was passionate; she would give him that, her joints stiffened as she closed her eyes, resting her hands on his chest. After a moment she broke away from his lips, her face burning. So, this was it.
She looked over his shoulder just in time to catch the girl from before, dinner was served and she was staring into the bathroom shocked. When their eyes locked she moved out as quickly and silently as she could, closing the door behind her. Akemi smirked and looked up at Marcus. “Everything I am is yours. Take it from me and seal our agreement.”
“Is that what you want Marcus, to be able to tame a beast?” She asked him, tilting her head to one side curiously, and her red hair fell to stroke her shoulder. “Does the thought of having one in your bed excite you?” The red eye shining through her mask cast a slightly brighter glow, highlighting the features on her face. “I do not easily break Marcus.” She whispered, her hands resting on his shoulders, thumbs running along his collar bones gently. “But if I do, it is good to know you will put me back together, even if it is for your own interests in the end.”
“I have never been called cute before, you must have a twisted concept of the word.” The wolf girl smirked slightly at the statement. “Good, this means there might be room for many more bargains to be stuck. But forever is a long time, one day you will get bored of me, so enjoy me whilst you can. We have a lot of time to discuss our fears and desires; we will even drink wine and read some of that poetry of yours, if you wish it.” Her head leaned into his hand as he brushed her hair out of her face, the action almost feline. “You will be pleasured Marcus, in every way I can provide.” Her eyes drifted to the side to see her robe fall down further, the material falling until it was caught in the crease of her elbows.
He had such a dominate presence. In a flash his hand was on her back, his mouth upon hers once more. His movements caught her off-balance. Her chest pressed against his, her wrist firmly in his grasp. “I told you, only fools regret their choices.” Her voice was quiet, her mind at piece with the pact she had made. She turned her head away from him, biting he lip softly s he kissed down her jaw, another blush came to her face, yet this one she did not blame on the heat. She could feel her pulse raising, the sound of her heartbeat... This effect he seemed to have on her. She let out a small gasp as he licked her skin, her body clenching in preparation for what she knew was coming.
She remembered when Fol had bit her, his canine fangs tearing into her skin in such a rough manner. Marcus’ bite was very different, his fangs cut through her skin easily. Akemi moaned, pushing herself closer into him, her free hand made its way to his hair, clutching it firmly. It stung for a moment, but after that she could feel her body relaxing, her grip on him becoming gentler. He kissed the wound he had made, still she felt the blood pool and drip down her front, in-between the fold of her bust. “You do not have to behave.” The wolf-girl shook her head, her hand making its way from his hair to the side of his face. “Marcus.” She uttered softly. She had made her deal with the devil; she leaned forward, planting a gentle kiss on his lips. She never went into anything half hearted, and knew it would not be fair if she laid back and let him do all the work. Despite her inexperience she was ready to play and commit to the act she had promised.
It did not take long for others to enter the hide-out. Akemi stayed still, bright eyes glowing faintly in the blackness which covered the wall, pulsing like a living organism, engulfing her, holding her close. The first to enter the room was a girl, one with striking resemblance to herself. She was younger than the wolf-woman, with longer hair and a more curvaceous frame, but besides those subtle differences, the two might have well have been sisters. Akemi paused for a moment, thrown off balance by the sudden appearance of her doppelganger. Though she was soon awakened from her mild surprise by the sound of the girl landing square on her butt. Akemi sighed, even as a child she was never that useless, it seemed like there similarities finished at their appearance. She paused for a moment, debating if she should step in and help. Akemi had no qualms in watching the suffering of others, Marcus had made sure of that.
Alas, that was not the way of a Blackheart, and even though she was not among their ranks yet, she needed to convince them she had the potential to be. She assumed there must be some use in keeping the girl in the land of the living, especially since she looked so much like herself. As the Witch Eaters struck so did Akemi.
She came free of the wall, dragging the darkness that manifested like a curtain, pulling it from a wall and around infront of her into a spiral. Then the seemingly liquid object shattered like a mirror, small dark daggers sprayed the room, cutting into the flesh of the Witch-Eaters, red flowers bloomed on their skin, the shadows fading into nothing to allow the blood to flow freely. They cursed and screamed in both pain and surprise, holding their limbs. Akemi gave them no time to think. She was outnumbered and knew the best way to go about this was quickly and efficiently. Take them down swiftly and without mercy, that is what the Skeleton General had preached.
Akemi landed infront of the other girl, one again spinning to rip the shadows off of the wall. They formed around her arms, elongating them into giant claw like manifestations. She gave the other woman a quick glimpse before leaping ahead, directing her attentions souly towards one. He raised his arms to defend himself but she pushed him back, thrusting one of the claws into his chest, blood splattered across the wall as the sharp nails burst through the other side. When she pulled back she pulled out all the fleshy tissue she had sliced through, creatures who lived to steal the hearts of others... it only seemed right that they had their hearts ripped out themselves. Akemi's red eye glowed intensely as she turned to look at the remaining Eaters. She smirked, raising her clawed hand, she stuck up three fingers, but put one down slowly to show that only two of them remained. Taunting them.
One of the creatures went to escape back through the passage, but a black curtain arose to block the way. Akemi smirked as his head snapped back to look at her. Fear in his eyes. The wolf-girl brought her claw to her mouth, licking off the still warm liquid that coated it.
"I am sorry. It seems like you are all stuck here with me. Have I ruined the mood? I know sudden impending death can kill the urge to rob little girls of their innocence and magic. I am sorry, if you are still feeling frisky though, feel free to carry on... Consider it a last dinner. A last chance to gain power. However you better be damn sure you can make it to her before I can."
The man furthest away from her made a move towards Alezea as his friend looked on still shocked by the mangled remains of their companion. Akemi looked over at the other girl, cocking her head to the side quite casually before addressing her in a lighthearted voice.
"Show me you are not too weak to live."
Akemi did not hesitate on entering the room, or shutting the door behind her to make sure any interactions that took place inside were private. With a flick of her wrist her shadow magic engulfed the handle, mangling the object and leaving it locked and broken. She did not need to worry about the boy running away and calling for a teacher, despite what she was about to observe, finding a trainee Blackheart in a students room... it would lead to questions.

Te wolf girl ignored his cursing and his questions. The scene she had walked into was interesting and instantly grasped her attention. Blood. She shook her head and smiled, her senses did not fail her this time. The she-b***h approached his, now ruined, circle of candles, kneeling down before them in a calm manor. Candles. They stirred up memories of that night, the first night she had met a blood witch, the night she had sold her soul to him. Was that why she was here now? Was she forever connected to this kind of magic? A hand raised and resting on her neck, the scars remaining from his bite.

She reached over and picked up the blade, the marks on his arms told her that this blood was his... but she wondered. Bringing the object to her mouth, her tongue emerged to lick off the droplets slowly, like she was savoring the flavor - She could taste magic. Satisfied with her analysis of the situation she spun the object around in her fingers casually, before holding it by her side, her one red eye vibrantly shining under the skull that hid half of her face.
Students. They were so adorable. Especially when they looked to tense. This one seemed particularity so, she did not know if it was because he was covered in blood like a slaughtered lamb, or that his eyes were so bright and youthful...
"Calm down. I am not going to hurt you. I was just curious - It seems like you have made quite a mess."
Her voice was light, a little more than a whisper. She paused, her fingers reaching over and snuffing out the life of one of the candles, tipped over and still burning.
"Not many people partake in such activities... It must take its tole."
Still holding the weapon the woman leaned back, crossing her legs and using her hands to support her feminine frame. Her eyes did not leave him though, incase he did prove to be hostile. Needless to say she planned on staying here for quite a while, her relaxed posture suggesting to him that he should get comfortable too.
                      Akemi was not expecting this.
The lights blinded her, in an attempt to shield her eyes the girl covered her face with her arm, her shadows fleeting away at the sudden lack of darkness. After a moment and a few tremendous crashing sounds the wolf-woman opened her eyes, speckles dancing across her vision. Besides the sudden outburst of energy, they all seemed to be unharmed. Akemi straightened up, trying to regain her bearings, besides the laugh of one, all was still. Then....
The ground moved. Akemi's knees gave away and all of a sudden she was on her hands and knees trying to stabilize herself. The ground opened up, swallowing her whole, and then there was darkness. She only felt like she was falling for a few seconds, she heard running water, but she was not near lucky enough to hit it. The girl hit the ground, a sharp pain engulfed her body, a battering of rocks following. Light flooded from above, illuminating the passage they had all found themselves in. Despite the pain, Akemi found herself conscience. She looked around, analyzing the situation. The body of the man she gutted was floating in the water, her attention then went to the patch of ground she had landed on. Not too far away lay the bloody corpse of the one who tried to run away earlier, his body and bones broken and buried by the rocks, his head nothing else but mush.
Then, there was movement. Her eyes snapped to the side, just in time to see the last flee down the passage. She cursed in her head and growled. It was time to pick herself up, but when she tried to move she heard a scream... It took a moment to realize it was she who was screaming. Tears in her eyes she looked back at herself. Her lower half was buried under rocks and her side... Eyes widened in horror to see a branch sticking out of her side, she must have landed on it, and it has sliced through her like butter. The wolf women growled and pushed up as hard as she could, she could feel the object travel through her, the rocks falling off of her legs as she pushed. She screamed again as she burst free, falling to the side.
At the side of her remained the blooded branch still protruding them the ground, her blood pooling. Damn it. She was not going to die here. The woman made one last attempt to stand, stumbling to her feet before falling to the side, in the end she managed to use the wall to support herself. Only then when she looked up she realized how far they had fallen, a hand holding the hole in her body, she realized she had no idea where she was. Or where the other girl was for that matter... probably buried. Probably dead.
                      "DON'T ******** TOUCH ME!"
Akemi barked sharply as the other girl rushed over to her, droplets dripping from her hair, skin glistening with the kiss of the water. The wolf-girl needed to think, she needed to comprehend this troublesome situation they had found themselves in. Most of the time she could have simply summoned a portal and stepped through onto the other side, but the pain was making it impossible to conjure any kind of spell - which also meant she could not heal herself. She cursed in her mind, shaking her head in frustration. They were trapped her;, and ontop of that they had a killer stuck here with them - no doubt riddled with rage at the death of his comrades, vision hazy with the need for revenge. And the icing on the cake? She had this brat to take care of too. What even was that spell? In what world was it a good idea?
                      They were screwed.
Akemi felt like throwing her arms up in the air and calling it a day right then and there, however everytime she moved another wave of agony paralyzed her body. How could she trust this girl? How did she think she would let her anywhere near her? If that was her offensive... Akemi dared to think what her healing magic would do. It would probably blow her freaking head off! No. She would grind her teeth and deal with it. With any luck the scar would remain a reminder of a rather amusing story - though the red-head was struggling to find the funny side in all this.
Why was she even here? She could have been back at the castle with Marcus in a feathered bed, having her every desire catered for. Akemi was not spoilt, she did not mind sleeping rough or getting hurt - infact she found pain rather pleasurable at times - but this was just too much! One step and she found herself on her knees again, this time she cursed outloud, sharply and passionately. Bright eyes looked at the girl, her skeletal mask outlined faintly by the light flooding in from the level above them. With a deep breathe Akemi bit down and tried to control that temper she was ever so famous for. As much as she hated to admit it, as much as her hot-headed nature disagreed and how much her pride cried out in shame... She was not going to get out of here alone. She needed help, even if it was from the most useless witch is Makai.
"He is going to come back you know. He could already be plotting his attack and I can promise you it is not gonna be pretty; if you think this is bad... you have no idea what he is going to do us."
She twitched; another wave coming over her but despite it she continued.
"If we have any chance of getting out of here I need to be able to fight him and I can't do that..... ********.... I hope you are a better healer than a fighter or we are screwed in every which way you can imagine and more."
She could smell the girls discomfort. All those hormones running around her body. She was not used to this, she stunk of innocence and inexperience. ******** students. Akemi herself never went to the academy, and even though the Blackheart headquarters were on the lower levels of the school, she showed it no interest in it. A school for witches... you did not learn magic in books. You learnt it through fear and necessity, though battles and the urge to live. They were all so soft in her eyes. Her vision started to blur, shapes fusing together into a mushy mess.
                      "D-damn it."
She stuttered out before hitting the floor. Blood pooling around her. Before long everything was black....
She was not going to die like this.
Not at the hands of such an inexperienced little girl.
Akemi, for the first time in recent memory, dreamed of home.
God. How she wished she didn’t.
Her eyelids fluttered and then slowly opened to reveal bright orbs of colour. It took a moment for her vision to adjust, blurry shapes sharpening to form lines and definition. Where was she? The wolf girl was puzzled, clueless and groggy; like she had been sleeping for hours. She looked down to see the mass that was sprawled across her. That was right. Damn it. She sighed and sat up, letting her other girls head fall onto her lap gently. The older red-head looked down at her side, just in time to see the wound heal up completely – it was like it had never been, the pain disappearing almost instantaneously. Huh, seemed like this little brat was a better medic than she thought.
Good. It was about time she proved herself useful.
Akemi looked at the light flooding down from above them. She could just escape; lead them both out of here... But that would leave the other witch-eater alive... and her mission would be a failure. Not to mention the terror he would be free to cause if she ignored him. Now, fully healed and not ready to admit defeat, the exiled maiden made the decision to go on the hunt. Still, she could not leave the other witch behind. Like it or not, Akemi owed her a blood debt and she was always cautious about who she owed. The sooner she could work it off the better, and then she could part with this little terror completely and pretend the two had never crossed paths.

Akemi slid out from under the girl, freeing her legs from her grasp before jumping onto her feet. She closed her eyes and sniffed the air. She smelt a trail and the scent of blood made her smile with evil intent. She liked her lips in excitement. Meat. Letting out a low growl she grabbed the unconscious girl and hoisted her up onto her shoulders, letting her arms and legs dangle at either side of her head. She stumbled for a moment and then found her strength. Akemi was a fighter, she was meant to be strong. Still, it would not hurt this troublesome witch to lay off the cream puffs.
With a deep breath Akemi started to run forward, deeper into the inky blackness of the cave. Eyes peeled for any sign of movement.
After a while she could feel the younger witches muscles twitching, threatening to wake.
”Hey. Princess. You gonna be able to walk anytime soon. I can’t carry your fat a** forever.”
