Buddingtonite resisted the urge to give the foam hammer a playful pluck, as if to see if it really was foam or if Titan was trying to fool him. It looked real enough, and to someone who might have already been spooked by someone of Titan's size charging at them, it might as well have been a real hammer he was wielding. Buddingtonite considered this as a possible ruse that the other lieutenant could use, though he half-expected the thought would never once cross his mind. "Don't let the enemy know it's foam. Pretend it's a real hammer... a big, massive hammer... carry yourself in a manner that makes them think it's real. From a short distance, I couldn't even tell."
Toys these days were getting rather detailed, weren't they? He found himself envious of Titan's weapon, especially since the behemoth seemed eager to point out the absurdity that was his own. In truth, Buddingtonite was never bothered by having a pinwheel as a weapon, and for the most part, he was rather humored by the thought of it himself. And he was quick to explain his reasoning, even as he gave it a playful little twirl. "Don't be sorry, Titan. We all must earn our stripes and if they deemed me fit to work my magic with a pinwheel, then I simply must learn to work it. It's not too effective at fighting, but it's good for distracting the enemy and throwing them off."
He swished it around like a fencing sword, the wind twirling through the harmless blades and making an interesting swishing sword before bringing it back at the ready. "Besides, I'm not much for fighting, but I do my best. I have no qualms in requesting help from others, but it's good to know that you'll have my back in the future."
When he requested that they'd get moving, Buddingtonite couldn't blame him. It was never safe to stay still for too long, and despite his muscular frame, he knew Titan to have a good head on his meaty shoulders, and without him needing to ask twice, the lieutenant motioned for Titan to follow him. "One good place to hide from prying eyes is rooftops... jumping onto one is relatively easy now, given our increased strength. Though, with your strength, I half wonder if you could make it to the Moon in a single bound?" Ivynian Buddy wasn't self conscious about his pinwheel before... NOW HE IS. redface

"No, I do not think I will be letting it well known it is foam. It is...handy that they can NotBe, ja? And then we can call with our will and they appear in hand sure as Thor's own. We are become small Æsir and Vanir, only as you say...our teeth are small." "Does...what is the word, " He troubled a moment, waiting until they'd completed an aforementioned jump to the rooves, puzzling his English vocabulary like poking an angry squirrel. "Silhouettes. Are silhouettes a trouble for being seen from below, still? It is the high ground, up here, but the enemy can jump just so and find us standing out against the sky. Has it happened to you?" "I honestly haven't tried the edges of this new strength. I could lift well before, maybe I win all the competitions now, ja?" The last words came out as a laugh. It was a joke, he didn't expect they were supposed to be that publically powered up and visible to the world. At least not yet and not without orders. "Have you tried lifting much now? Is it different for you?"

"Silhouettes? Erm... no, I don't think- OH, you mean shadows!" Buddingtonite was taken back by the question but only for a moment, and the question did nothing to take his mind off of the little scheme that he had in mind. He could think and talk at the same time, thankfully. "Not really, no. Besides, I don't sense any senshi or knights as of yet, so we should be in the clear for now. You'll know when they're around... just as you felt me, you'll feel them."
Then, he gave Titan a friendly wink, flexing his arm in a playful manner and hoping to calm his nerves with some bravado. "Besides, if they do show up, then we'll have to combine our strengths, or, if that fails, we'll show them just how fast we are."
Buddingtonite was never afraid to make a tactical retreat. Besides, he had a shard that he could call upon Mica or another senior ranking officer, if worse came to worse. With Titan there, though, he felt that the two were perfectly safe. A senshi or page would have had to be a fool to attack someone that looked like that!
When asked how he handled his newly obtained strength, Buddingtonite gave a shrug and replied halfheartedly, as his mind was now set on another topic. One that he was about to question his muscly friend about in a few seconds. "Well, I'm certainly stronger than I used to me, which isn't saying much. However, I am faster on my feet... say, Titan, think you can throw me up to that rooftop?"
With his pinwheel, he pointed to the three story building that were standing next to. He had made a leap like that before, but now he was curious to see just how strong Titan was. It was a interesting request, but what was Buddingtonite if not interesting?

The wink was disconcerting, but this one seemed to thrive in that department. But maybe that was good; Buddingtonite was not boring to talk to or be around so far. He probably got up to a lot of mischief. Titan quirked, looking at the height of the building beside them for a while. "Well, I cannot exactly do the math...it is a little hard. The Highland games have a weight-for-height event though that I have played. The records are in the eighties of feet. I can usually toss in the seventies. That ....the weight for that is 56lbs. I imagine you weight more than that?" "Most men weight about 150lbs. It is like three times the weight. What is one story in feet? It is like one floor, ja? Which is a tall for ceilings that I have to lift my hand...maybe ten or twelve feet. Maybe that is between thirty and forty feet. " "It is half the distance I usually throw with at least three times the weight. I'd guess the chances were okay, but not great? I don't know. I am willing to try? You can get your feet under you and jump off from the wall if you don't go high enough to clear it."

Buddingtonite wasn't expecting Titan to try and bring math into the equation, as it wasn't something he cared much for. He learned enough to run a candy store register and inventory, and perhaps enough for taxes, but beyond the actual practical reasons, he forced the complicated math and physics out of his head the moment those tests were taken.
He wasn't interested in that. He had his mind set on one thing, and to satisfy that curiosity and desire for fun, he looked to Titan and gave him a rather pleading look. "Well, Titan... I'm willing to find out if you're willing to toss me."
It sounded much dirtier than he intended, but he didn't take back his words. Nor his request. He wasn't too worried about not making the jump, as he was a Negaverse officer and could probably find a way to recover in midfall should he not clear the roof. He placed his pinwheel in his hat and motioned for Titan to grab him, and the thrill seeker couldn't refrain from showing any of his excitement. "I think you can do it. Besides, you'll never know when we may have to do this in battle..."
The thought of Titan just lifting up a fellow officer or even an enemy like a javelin and hurling them across the battlefield only made Buddingtonite want it more, and he all but danced in place with excitement, like a child in a toy store that wasn't allowed to touch anything.

A person is not caber, a weight ball, or a kettle ball. In fact his shape is overall very different. But the weight balls go a lot further than the cabers. So....swing him? Titan knit his brows uncertainly at the eager, maybe saying something suggestive other man. It begged the last question, throw him by the hands, feet, or waist? Waist seemed like it would interrupt accurate direction setting, since he wasn't going to try to improvise anything on technique. Feet were possibly awkward. Hands it was! Using it in battle seemed like a maybe good idea. More ballistic than jumping about alone could be. A ballistic pinwheel man didn't seem very intimidating, but practice meant maybe it could be with others too. Or some sort of generalized artillery choice, person, youma, big rock, smart car... "Alright, like figure skating pairs. I will take your hands, and on three, you let go when I do." He reached out and took the other man's smaller ones, one each in his own paws. Then with a sudden start, lifted Buddingtonite off his feet and into revolutions, "One." "Two." "Three-" and let go at the angle to fling the other agent generally towards the chosen building in an arc.

Buddingtonite was considering the practical uses of such an tactic at well, but in truth, he was in it just to do it. He was curious to see just how strong Titan was, and the thrill of it, of course. There were so many thing he could do as a Negaverse agent that he wouldn't dream of doing as Richard (not entirely true, of course, but dreaming and actually committing to the act were two entirely different things). Tonight, Buddingtonite had no fear, and he all but skipped in place in excitement when Titan agreed to do it.
"Ohhhhh, this is going to be so fun!" Buddingtonite said, immediately moving into position and not once thinking of the consequences of this little stunt. No risk, no reward, and if there was one thing that Buddingtonite liked more than women and wine, it was a good thrill every now and then.
He wasn't even paying attention when he counted down, and the only regret that Buddingtonite had in his mind was that he didn't think to do this earlier. Titan flung him like javelin, and Buddingtonite spread his arms forward in a very 'Superman' fashion, knowing that if any of his higher ups had seen him that they wouldn't have approved of him using another lieutenant for such a selfish reason and giving a loud 'wooooooo' as he went flying up.
The fun would eventually have to end, and it came with Buddingtonite coming down at an arc, and for a moment he thought that he was going to miss his mark. He flailed his arms, but surprisingly, his gloved fingers latched onto the edge of the building and he managed to catch himself before plummeting back down onto the pavement. He was silent for a moment, but soon, his laughter could be heard, and he pulled himself up, before shouting down to Titan. "See? Wasn't that fun?"

Hearing the other lieutenant 'woo' as he sailed the air lifted Titan's spirit a little. It was a simple human expression of pure enjoyment, made as much going sledding or skydiving, or really fast on a ride. It was pure exhilaration. And he'd earned it from the other. And Buddingtonite was relaxed and at least not going to ball up and get hurt. Sure enough, the arc hadn't been enough to clear fully onto the other building, but Buddingtonite kept his head and made a good landing of it. Titan made the quick steps to the ledge to try for a clearer look at the other man, and grinned back when he called his his question. "I think you are right. You are not so heavy, I think it is good fun. We will have to keep it in mind and practice it. That was a good landing you managed, pulling up just right." He guessed smiles and happiness were, after all, infectious. He felt less dark, and it was the other man's grace and overwhelming confidence that afforded it. Maybe Buddigtonite really was on his way to be a self-made Herse. Maybe even Jarl. "Man ska inte bränna ljuset i båda ändarna. ** I like your way, we could all use lightening up." **We should not burn the light in both ends (don't shorten your life by excessive work)

If life wasn't about having fun, then what was the point? That was Buddingtonite's motto, pulling himself up to where he was sitting on the edge of the building and looking down at the lieutenant that had thrown him. He was still a bit winded from the experience, but it was great to feel the rush of adrenaline pulsing through him, to have experienced such a thrill. Screw skydiving! He'd simply have to ask Titan to give him another toss. He listened to Titan's words, not understanding the first part at all but knowing it to likely be in his native tongue and not his mind scrambling words from having an awesome anuerism from the little thrill. But he definitely understood that last part, and he shared a bit of his own wisdom to Titan. "You live once, so you might as well seize the day when you have the chance, right?"
He motioned for Titan to join him on the roof, not forgetting the original reason why he asked the muscled man to give him a little toss in the first place. Now that there was some space in between them, he didn't want to have to yell throughout the streets when Titan wanted privacy to begin with. "You know, you have an excellent throwing arm, Titan... we could use strength like that later on, I think. Imagine the look on our enemies' faces when they see human-sized projectiles being hurled at them."
He could imagine it'd be frightening, and effective. Yes, this was definitely a tactic that Titan could use later... the thought of him throwing his hammer once he reached Captain or General actually made Buddingtonite quiver. "Come on... I'm certain you can make the jump. Just use a little muscle, or else you'll end up on the moon!"Ivynian Buddy will likely ask the meaning to that later. XD

Jumping to someplace was a lot different than just being tossed there, especially at his weight. Titan paced pack and forth along the ledge of his own roof, eye up the distance. Long jump and high jump were not part of the circuit for Highlander, deadlifting, or Strongman sports. If he needed to haul a tractor trailer for a mile now, he was fairly certain he could.... But there was a decent set of ledges that looked wide enough he could get his fingers on them- and he was confident in his hand and grip strength. Titan jogged back from the ledge, then sprinted, launching so that he could make that jump certainly, then rock-wall climb by hauling himself and propelling up twice, and grasping the roof ledge where Buddy waited on the third wall cling up. Since his hands weren't soft or delicate, Titan didn't have to worry about scrapes from concrete or brick. "Two-hundreds eighty is too heavy to fly, I'm afraid. Not so well as you, friend." The bravado was nice, natural, relaxing. "It is not a baseball arm, but like cabers better. Maybe if it comes to it, I throw our enemies AS the projectiles. You can challenge me which target to hit. " "Do you work much with Specs, Buddy?"

Buddingtonite watched Titan from above, noting how he didn't simply just jump but looked to be accessing the situation. Which meant that for all those muscles, his strongest aspect was that mind of his, and attention to caution. Yes, he was certain that Titan would do well in the Negaverse and that Spec-Ops would be getting a mighty fine officer. Lucky them...
He waited patiently as Titan made his leap, and he didn't think ill of him for his tactic nor his method. In fact, he mentally winced at the thought of the cuts that would decorate Titan's hands, but he suspected that it hardly bothered the strong man. After all, given the amount of injuries that were likely in this line of business, a few cuts on your hands or fingers would have been more of an inconvenience than anything else.
At least compared to losing one's starseed, anyway.
Buddingtonite laughed at the thought of Titan hurling enemies as projectiles, not because he thought the idea foolish but because it was a perfect strategy and he knew him to be completely capable of it. "I'd love to see that! Throw them at a building, or even at each other! That should break a few bones, maybe even a neck."
Now that he and Titan were safely on the roof, Buddingtonite made himself comfortable, shifting around and resting his back against the parapet. Despite his movements, he was paying attention to Titan's question, and he answered truthfully, though only when he was completely comfortable. "Truthfully, no, though I'm starting to think that investing in a partnership with a fighter would be for the best. I know of Lieutenant Serpentine, and Captain Mica. I also heard about General-Thing Howlite, and how not to say that around her."
He then flashed Titan a look, and added in a hushed tone, "And it would be best for both of us if you didn't report that to her, assuming you go into her unit. I'll find a way to repay you for this, if you'd like."

It was a lot like having to go all the way through the alphabet, or the president's song, or Fifty Nifty United States- he had come up with a dumb tune and had to go through the roster alphabetically - Labyrinthite, Linarite, Mica....Sassolite , Schörl, Serpentine, Sugilite...ja, they are Special Operatives. Assigning faces to names was a little harder. He hadn't had a lot of experience outside of basic training with Obsidian. He needed to reach out more. The alteration of Howlite's title was interesting. He wondered if it was usual for the lower ranks to speak disparagingly about quirks of the commanders. It usually was in other organizations, a point o solidarity among grunts when there wasn't enough unity or faith built that their betters really woudl lead them well. Like that last reading assignment for his remedial literature class, Ender's Game. "It seems like they shoot the messenger here. " Titan shook his head, reassuring, " Besides, you do not need to like her. I do not think the General kings are here to be our friends, or want to be. They are here to command, and we to follow. " "Some jibes and nicknames are hardly news. It's useless tattling. Special Operations help shore the walls of loyalty, snitching breaks that down. I hope other Specs don't? You haven't had a problem with it, have you? " ChibiGingi I don't have much else for this initial meeting and the questions and tossing seem like a nice tight vignette? Was there any other specific information or stuff you wanted to cover? Otherwise we can probably start wrapping. And then they'll have met at the Carnival to actually work together heart Much excite.

"Shoot the messengers? Oh please, they claim to be strict but I have yet to see them act upon their threats," Buddingtonite said, not at all too worried about his nickname ever gaining popularity and making it to the General-King. Who knew? Maybe she had a sense of humor? Either way, Buddingtonite wasn't overly concerned, but it was good to know that he had Titan's back on this. "I suppose you're right, though. With so much responsibility on their shoulders. They're not being paid to be our friends... that's why -I'm- here. I'm everyone's Buddy."
That wasn't entirely true, but he was still working on that. Who knew? Maybe if he worked the right tricks at the right time, he could be in the General-Kings and Queen's good graces? For starters, cracking jokes behind their back wouldn't have been a good start, and he was determined not to allow himself to do it again, if he could help it.
In regards to Titan's concern about the other Spec-Ops officers, Buddingtonite gave the truth. "I have nothing against them. I envy them, actually. Most of them seem to be doing a great job and are willing to take the fight to the enemy, which is something that's expected out of all of us, but it's not really our specialty. I appreciate their hard work and willingness to run head first into danger for our sake. Our gallant heroes are to be respected, and I will give it where it is due. The same goes for you, Titan, if that is your choice."
He flashed him a friendly wink. "I think you'll do splendidly there. Call it a hunch..."Ivynian Yeah, I think we can start wrapping up soon. Let me know when we want to do another get-together with these two! <3

"SpecOps can't be the only heroes, " Titan tried to reassure Buddy. Even in his favorite movie there were all the other warriors who fought and got Buliwyf to the Mother of the Wendol. They were all heroes. He wasn't sure how to articulate it, though. "You will have to tell me all your heroing when we meet again." "You've lightened what was a heavy coat to wear...thank you. I should get back before it makes problem. Good hunting, Buddy." ChibiGingi absolutely~ I see them like this. Maybe one the carnival is done with we can brainstorm something.

Buddingtonite took in his words and gave a lackadaisical shrug, as though the notion of not being considered a hero hardly bothered him. In truth, it didn't. Buddingtonite did not fancy himself the hero. More like the good Public Relations guy that wanted to indulge himself in the action every so often. Let someone else take the fall, that's his motto. But he would not disagree with Titan, nor did he want to. "And not all heroes wear capes and do the dirty work, so to speak. There's more than one way to skin a cat, or however that saying goes."
When asked to recount his own 'heroing', Buddingtonite openly chuckled and stopped himself before he got too into it. It wasn't that he belittled Titan, he simply didn't have much of his heroism to share, but he would indulge the lieutenant later on should he still be interested. "I'm glad to have helped in some manner, Titan. It's what I do from time to time... after all, they don't call me Buddy for nothing."
He tipped his hat to his fellow lieutenant, before picking himself and making his departure. He was certain that he'd see Titan again in the future, and he looked forward to joining his side in a fight. A guy like him in action? Yes, that was truly a sight to behold!Ivynian And now I want to watch that movie forever. Consider this a wrap on my end!
