Hel, to her credit, managed to keep a straight face as she leaned closer and informed Kettil of the terrible, terrible news. “It is still around…and the mop and Freya are very, very close on Frightdays when she is home. She will take it swing dancing around the kitchen. So shameless! She does not care who is watching while she fraternizes with it.”
The ghoul then went back to flipping through the pictures…and it seemed the funny ones were gone. Hel’s expression grew more fond and reminiscent. These photos had been taken in the last few years. They were rather recent. She handed one to Kettil. Freya was lying in a field, and she had left her hair undone. The pumpkin sun was shining rather brightly that day, and well, she simply looked radiant. She found some more of the same note as well. Pictures that she thought captured the other side of Freya. The grace and the beauty. She handed them all to Kettil. She handed Kettil all the pictures of Freya, even ones that had her in it.
“You can have them all.” Hel replied, closing the lid on the box now. “…Not that I do not care for them…I just think they will be better off with you…and all those things…they are stored here.” She pressed a hand over her heart, and then shoved the box back under the bed.

Kettil pouted at Hel, "That's so sad for me. I guess I'll have to find a inanimate fling of my own to pursue just so I don't get bored on Frightdays when she's too busy for me...That or I conveniently toss the mop into a woodchipper."
It was an accident. Really. Kettil also managed to keep a straight and very serious expression as he informed Hel of his plans.
The next sets of pictures made a bit of a goofy and lovesick sort of expression as he looked them over and then suddenly he had a collection of Freya pictures and he snapped out of it with a startled expression. He looked over at Hel with a momentary concerned expression before it melted into an understanding one, "I mean it isn't like you're leavin' her forever, right?"

Hel just laughed, and shook her head a bit, leaving it at that. “It never wood a chance.” She sighed. Okay, then she left it at that.
She laughed once more, and waved a hand. “Ya, ya.” She answered, rather non-committal, really. “…All these pictures are just reminders on a chapter of my life I am ready to close and never look at again.” She replied honestly.

Kettil gave her a bit more of a serious stare at the non-committal answer. He'd hunt you down Hel. Hunt you down and drag you to Freya for visits if he had to. Don't make him drag you.
He turned back to the pictures now quietly dig through the pictures again mulling over what she said toward the end. Kettil supposed he could understand that logic, "Nothing wrong with that, just don't hide from it, too," was all he would say on the matter. Kettil wasn't going to force anything on her but he wasn't going to just let it go without having a single say on it himself. Not that he mattered in the entire equation.
"I just would think it a shame that ... We're startin' to get along and stuff and then you disappear on me and on Freya," he gave her a bit of a wry smile, "as long as we write to each other that'll be good, til' we see each other again, ya?"

The reaper just smiled at that serious stare. In her head a voice said ‘yup, leaving her in good hands’. She snorted. “How bold of you to make such a statement.” She grinned a bit. “No. I am not hiding. I am simply ready to be done.” She tilted her head a bit, and hummed thoughtfully at his words.
“Writing, huh? I dunno if you have seen mine or Freya’s writing…but it is pretty ******** bad.” She snickered. “How about texting?”

The smile made him squint at her a little. He had his eyes on you. He'll install a tracker in your neck the first chance he got, don't test him. Then his expression softened into a smile and he nodded, "Fair enough, Hel. I respect your decision," he said simply. Only Hel knew what was right for Hel at any given point in her life.
Her response to writing gave him a bit of a chuckle, "Well, I suppose you ain't seen mine either. I get downright messy sometimes," he observed with a chin rub. "Texting and emails with some smatterings of occasional visits when we all got time," he upped the ante just a bit as he held out a hand to her. "Shake on it?"
Kettil was demanding.

Hel just kept on smiling, even at the squint. Well, she found it nice that you respected her decision, because she was going to do it whether you respected it or not. It was just more pleasant for everyone this way.
She seemed rather amused that Kettil was trying to bargain with her. She was getting some bargaining experience from bantering with Mac, and she was comfortable to use it. “Nix e-mails, because I hate using computers and laptops, and you then you have yourself a deal, boil.”

Kettil figured she would do what she wanted no matter what. It just felt nice to say that he respected what she wanted. In a sense he admired it.
The boil let out a short laugh, "Alright, no emails. Texts. Occassional visits. I can live with that," he grinned happily. After all it wasn't reasonable to demand daily visits or daily phone calls, but it was reasonable enough to bargain his way into the occasional things.
Kettil apparently had matured a lot over the year in the Academy.

Kettil shook hands once and seemed content that this promise was good as formed. He seemed rather happy right now, "Thanks for the pictures by the way, Freya'll probably s**t a brick when I come to the dorm with these," he laughed a bit.
An entire brick.

The ghoul shook hands with him, firmly, and then let go. She looked over her shoulder, towards under her bed, when a thought hit her. She turned back to Kettil, a bit distracted. “…Hm? Oh…ya.” She chuckled.
“Ya…she probably will.”

Kettil smirked a little bit, "Somethin' wrong? Should get goin' so you can get to bed or somethin'?" He asked curiously.
He couldn't think of a reason why she would be staring at her bed other than if she forgot something under there, but why would he need to be here for that?

Hel hummed. “I think…I am about to do some serious cleaning.” Hel answered. She then made a ‘shoo shoo’ motion to Kettil. “Okay. I am done with you. Get out.”
The grin betrayed the a**-hole-ness of those words.

He smirked at her and he leaned and kissed her cheek, "Thanks, Sis. I appreciate the pictures." Kettil said in a chipper tone as he stood and made a exit.
That's right Hel. He done claimed you as family.

Well, she was definitely surprised. The ghoul made a face as Kettil kissed her cheek and called her sis. Instead she settled for “EWWWWWWWWWWWW YOU KISSED FREYA WITH THOSE LIPS!” As he left…and couldn’t help but smile and snort in amusement after he was gone.
She then started some serious room cleaning.
