Dana's frantic moves ceased for the briefest moment when Irene powered down. She recognized her pretty instantly. This was the girl Evie replaced her with because she couldn't 'handle' senshi talk.
She had answered the door.
And Dana instantly hated her. Not that Dana was especially fond of her older sister but there was suddenly a singing jealousy that surged whenever she saw her treat this b***h like more a sister than her own flesh and blood. She was her real sister, what right did Lydia have to come flouncing in?
But beyond recognizing her, it was the connection to her sister that made her panic again, and what had made her panic before.
"You can't tell my sister!" She screeched out, slamming her grip to both of Lydia's shoulders.

"Take it easy!" Lydia screeched back, wriggling uncomfortably. All of this force being used against her was making her nervous. Not because she really thought Evelyn'a sister was going to hurt her, though she conceded that it was possible. But because she didn't trust herself. If she got lost in the scuffle and did something bad, she would never be able to look Evelyn in the eye again.
For the moment, she seemed to be restraining herself well enough. All she could do was hope that she could continue doing so. "Now then, what am I not supposed to be telling Evelyn? That you are out and about at this late hour? Doing things more experienced senshi would advise you against? Or-" She broke off, remembering a snippet of their earlier conversation that hadn't made much sense to her before.
"Uh. No, why would I tell my stupid sister?"
Lydia paled. This was even worse than the initial discovery that Evelyn's sister was a senshi. "You mean she doesn't know?" she squeaked. "How did this- I mean, you said she told you- so then how did you- what?" Her ability to make clever deductions was apparently gone for the moment, shorted out by the overload of nonsensical information. If this made some sort of sense, somebody else would have to figure it out and explain it to her, because she was just staring, hands clutching the sides of her head, fingers tangling in her braids, unable to do anything else.

Dana eased off of her at the take it easy, bit, but she was still scowling and quite obviously, from her body language, thought she was tough.
She might not have been able to take a super, full senshi, but she was sure she could beat Lydia. Absolutely 100% positive she could, even if her decision process was mostly fantasy.
"I know Evie's a senshi," She said with a huff. "But she doesn't know I am."
And then she got back in Lydia's face. "And if you tell her I'll ******** kill you, Lydia, I am serious."

Sometimes you just needed things spelled out for her. Fortunately, Dana was willing to do the spelling. Unfortunately, while that helped the jumble of letters in Lydia's head resolve into words, the words still didn't make any sense. She was in a better place, but not nearly good enough.
The lack of physical violence was positive- at least, until threats entered the picture.
"Okay, hang on a sec." Lydia let go of her head carefully, her hands instead clasping in front of her chest. "How do you know about Evelyn? How much has she told you?" If one of her teammates was confessing things to young, impressionable family members willy-nilly, she was not going to be happy. That was an unlikely scenario, though.
It also put her in an uncomfortable situation. Lydia knew she was right about keeping one's civilian identity a secret. But this was different- Evelyn surely deserved to know that her sister was also a senshi. Didn't she? Or would that just be putting this girl in more danger?
"Whether I say anything to Evelyn about this... development, depends on your answers to my questions." She tried to look imposing, like a kid's death threats didn't scare her at all. "And here's another one for you: why are you so against her finding out?"

"I dunno," Dana muttered. "Evie saves me sometimes." Three, three times she had managed to piss off a youma, or a corrupted senshi, and had put her stupid civilian self in danger. Dana didn't see this as a problem, though.
She had always considered herself invincible with Evie at her back.
"Halloween, the year before last is when I found out. I kept her secret!" This was very important, she wanted her to know. She had been good, she kept Eunomia's secret like a good sister, pinky promised and everything.
"I kept her secret, I covered her butt, but if she finds out she won't do that for me. And that's not fair," She was still frowning. "So you'd better not."

"I see," Lydia said slowly. To her great relief, the puzzle pieces were finally starting to fit together. She didn't particularly care for the picture they were forming, but it was much better than the jumbled mess she'd been working with earlier. Now she had information she could use, and use it she would.
The fact that it had been a bad situation, rather than a whim, that had caused Evelyn to disclose her identity, was actually a relief. Yes, it was terrible that there had been a situation- or multiple situations, considering the "sometimes"- that required senshi intervention. But clearly Eunomia had handled them without any problems. Well, aside from her sister finding out, and later getting senshi powers of her own and not knowing what to do with them.
One thing at a time, Lydia.
"I believe that you kept her secret," she said seriously, "and I'm very glad that you did. I'm sure that Evelyn is thankful as well. But I must ask, why are you so certain that she wouldn't keep yours? She's kept mine for all this time, hasn't she?" At least, Lydia liked to believe so. The current situation made her somewhat wary, but she still felt that she could trust her teammate. If she couldn't, what was the point of having a team?

"Yes," Dana admitted, glancing to the side as she thought about it. And then she shook her head. "I wondered, though. Why she'd call you when she wouldn't talk about senshi stuff with me."
The jealousy was obvious, and probably shined a new light on why Dana had been so rude and hostile when she answered to door that day. She didn't like Lydia. She didn't like how Evie had someone to do all the little sister stuff she should be doing with her instead. They didn't get along, sure, but that was no reason to replace her.
"Evie says I could never understand and that I don't need to know, and that it's too dangerous. She's a control freak and a b***h and there's no way she'd let me do it on my own." She crossed her arms over her chest. "I should be allowed to be a senshi same as her."

It was pretty clear that Lydia had stumbled into the middle of a delicate family situation. On the one hand, she was Evelyn's friend and teammate, and owed her loyalty. This was information that affected her, and the people she cared about. At least one argument would say that she had the right to know about her sister's abilities.
Dana's argument was also persuasive. Lydia knew that Evelyn could be somewhat protective. And if she didn't have permission to disclose the information she'd been granted, she didn't really have the right to say anything. Disclosing someone else's identity against their will, even to an ally, would be the act of a traitor.
"She's correct about the danger- but if she's saved you before, I'm sure you know that." Just because this girl was somewhat carefree about things didn't mean she wasn't taking her new responsibilities seriously. Still, she was not keen on the idea of letting a newly-awakened senshi- and a young one, to boot- wander around uneducated. "Which team are you on? Are the others you mentioned earlier part of it?" Maybe if they all talked together, they could work out some sort of arrangement.

"Yeah, I know all 'bout corrupted senshi and the Negaverse. Pacifically youma," Dana said in her best know it all voice.
And then she snorted. "Team? What team? I'm not on a team, those are just some people I met."
She crossed her arms and shifted her weight. "Look this isn't fair, you can't just be prancin' around ready to tell my sister whenever you feel like it," Dana had arrangements in mind, but probably not in the vein Lydia was thinking, "How am I supposed to trust you won't tell? I need dirt on you to make sure."

Though Dana claimed to be well-informed, Lydia wasn't totally convinced. Especially when she dismissed the idea of a team so suddenly. How could any senshi not be part of a team? That didn't make any sense to her. Without a network, senshi would be adrift, easy prey for the more organized forced that plotted against them. The thought that not all senshi had teams was just inconceivable to her.
But, she realized, maybe it was simpler than that. ********* had told her that a different cat had awakened Iris. Maybe this senshi had been awakened by a different cat, and her team just hadn't found her yet. That was, she felt, much more likely than her not having a team at all.
"Teams are important. All senshi are allies, of course, but teams are what give you support and encouragement when you need it. Evelyn is one of my teammates- that's how we met." Was this girl another Asteroid, then? Somehow, Lydia doubted it. "I'll ask around, to see if I can figure out which team you belong on, okay?"
Maybe ********* would know. Or Iris. Between them, they knew practically everything!
The time had come to decide how she was going to handle this situation. Lydia took a deep breath. "I won't tell. Not as long as you promise to be careful, and let me help you learn the ropes." Of course, just saying that wasn't enough. "Look... I'm not supposed to be out here by myself like this. It's a team rule that we have to patrol in groups. If you told Evelyn that I was out here on my own, you could get me in trouble with the whole team. But I'm trusting you to keep this to yourself, alright? Day, is it?"
It was a dangerous move she was making, but Lydia felt the payoff would be worth the risk.

"Well yeah, I know Evie is on a team," Dana snorted, "But I'm not, I'm too cool for that s**t." Honestly she liked going to free for all training sessions and she knew she could call Chaonis for some vague probably not entirely true explanation about how things were 'lame' but a full team with rules and restraints sounded like it was right up Evelyn's alley.
And not her's.
"Yeah, okay, fine," She said with a reluctant sigh. She didn't think learning the ropes from Irene was going to be any fun, especially with the heaping pile of jealousy she projected onto the other girl, but she would take help where she got it, especially if it meant having her secret kept.
She nodded in understanding about keeping the bit about patrolling to herself. She filed it away, comparing it, smugly, to the fact Evelyn had also been patrolling by herself and if that was against the rules? That could be useful later.
There was small twinge above one of here eyebrows at Lydia calling her 'Day', though. "It's Dana. Only my sister calls me Day."

How much had Evelyn told her sister? Getting rescued from a bad situation was one thing, but how did this girl know about the Asteroids? Lydia had to wonder if Evelyn had been talking to anyone else, and she hated that. Not trusting her teammate- and one of her favorite teammates, at that- was not okay. But considering what she was learning, could there be any other reaction but suspicion and confusion?
"Regardless of how cool you are, I'd like to make sure that there isn't a team that's missing you. I'm sure they could use your ambient coolness." It seemed like a fact of senshidom that everyone had a team, and Lydia was willing to do the legwork to make sure that this girl found hers. Everyone would be safer that way.
She didn't exactly relish the position of "instructor," but was determined to do well with it. "Dana, then. I apologize for the slip, but we were never formally introduced. I'm not sure what your, ah, other name is, either. It would be good to know, so I don't make any similar mistakes in the future." And so she could ask around and find out where this senshi belonged.

Dana had a growing sense of smugness at Lydia's discomfort. Evelyn and Dana didn't usually keep secrets from one another, and while she didn't like using that against her she did like the bit of revenge she was getting on her sister trying to cut her out of the senshi game.
Even though punishing her for suddenly deciding to stop sharing by using what she had already shared probably wasn't the best way to go about it.
Either way, she crossed her arms and shrugged. "It's Columba, I'm the senshi of correspondendence."

"Correspondence," Lydia corrected automatically. "Remote communication. I think. You're probably not the senshi of things that correspond to each other, since that would just be silly. Communication is quite valuable, though." That would be good to know, if she was going to find Columba's team for her.
The idea of going on a patrol now, after everything that had happened, was totally unappealing. It was, Lydia decided, time to call it a night. "May I walk you home, Dana? Or are you too cool to be seen with the likes of me?"

"I know, s'what I said," Dana didn't get why everyone was always correcting her on her sphere name, geez.
She pursed her lips and looked Lydia up and down with unamused eyes. "I think my sister will ask questions if I walk up to the house with you," She concluded.
Not that it generally mattered since she had snuck out anyway, but it was still minimizing risks.
"See ya, Lameazoid," She called out as she powered back up and started darting in the direction of her home.
