The cat was going on again about the need to fight, almost like a broken record which Ruan Ruan was growing more and more inclined to ignore since she couldn't see any reason for her to do as it implored. After all, why would she want to fight the blond when there hadn't been any display of ill intent through his actions or words by far? Vicious little creature it seemed to be really.
Turning to Remarque, she gave the Eternal Dark Mirror Senshi a look over, trying to discern for herself if what he offered was trustworthy enough to follow through with. It sounded too good to be true really and that instantly brought to her mind multiple alarm bells that what the dashing young man was offering her couldn't be good.
Still, he did make a good point in that she had nothing to lose at this point at all. "Alright." With a decisive nod of her head, she reached to take hold of his hand with hers, her choice obviously made as she stepped past Laoise towards him. "I'll go with you and hear you out." If there was indeed some magical way with which she could start life anew, she would take her chances with him.

This was -- it was the world turned on end, for Laoise, where the girl went along with the villains instead of the heros. It took her breath away, left her silent for about a count of four before deciding that this was too much to handle for herself. She'd expected support in the face of a fresh-faced recruit, who she could bring around to her way of thinking. Instead, she was faced with twelve kinds of crazy.
So. New support was needed. So be it. She could find someone else out on patrol, and she turned to do exactly that, taking off at a run --
But not without pausing to grab the necklace again, first.

A burning satisfaction blossomed from the pit of Remarque's stomach, though he did his best to conceal it. The girl was coming with him and the cat was leaving—could this night have gotten any better?
His hand had curled around hers and he gave her a gentle tug. Without the cat around, he didn't have to rush things. There was a mirror near enough; he guided her towards it with gentle tugging. "You've made a wise decision. Very smart girl. Though, it would seem I know so little beyond that. Tell me about yourself. What is your name?" he asked. He seemed casual, professional; this wasn't new to him, but he wasn't the sort to make things informal. There was still a chance for her to run off, even if the mirror was just up ahead.
He might have given the impression of genuinely caring, to anyone who wanted to see it as such, though he was collecting what information he could, trying to figure out what to say and how to say it. He wanted this to go smoothly, so the more he had to work with, the more chance he had of this working.

In a flash, the blur of red and gold was gone as was the necklace which was very likely its primary aim all along, leaving behind no trace of its presence save for the red and gold pen that it had implored Ruan Ruan to use to drive Remarque off with. Strange that the thief would remember to grab the necklace, yet forget about the pen entirely when making its escape. Perhaps all those talk about the blond beside her turning her to the dark and the need for her to fight him off rather than choosing to go along with him were nothing more than convenient lies cooked up on the spot by the talking feline all along.
The Eternal Dark Mirror Senshi's hand was warm and strong around hers even as he guided her towards his intended destination with gentle tugging. Not that she had any idea as to where they were supposed to be heading but she let him have his way for now, her mind still trying to make sense out of everything that had happened ever since the cat spat the necklace out of its maw to warn her that she should be ready to defend herself.
"You already know most of my story and how I got into this mess because my passport decided to pull a Houdini." She feigned ignorance at his request to elaborate on herself, figuring that she should probably refrain from mentioning more than necessary lest it started to tip the scales into an unfavourable situation for her. It wasn't as if she knew him that well yet. "I'm Ruan Ruan. What is your name and how are you related to that talking cat?" She might have agreed to go with him and hear how exactly he was going to rewrite her life as he had said he could, but that didn't mean that she wasn't entitled to a couple of questions of her own first now that he was privy to a condensed version of her life story in Destiny City.

As they walked by it, Remarque nudged the pen up with the toe of his boot, ducking to scoop it up. He righted himself quickly, still pulling Ruan Ruan with him. Walking, he analyzed the pen; it was a strange little thing, not unlike his own, and yet so foreign. He didn't know if it would be of any use to the girl next to him, but he didn't see any benefit in leaving this just lying around. "Related to the cat? I'm not at all. She's just a nasty little menace, sticking her nose where she doesn't belong Here, hold onto this," he said, turning a bit and holding the pen out for her. "You might need it someday, who knows."
He paused, pen offered, right in front of the mirror he intended to walk through. It was a good time to allow her a moment to collect herself. "Now, Ruan Ruan. I'll give you the run down as quickly as possible. My name is Remarque. Pleasure to meet you, really. But I won't keep you in darkness for too long, so let me get to the point of this all. What I have to offer you is this: Look into the mirror. Take a good, long look. Because if you accept, this will be the last time you ever see yourself like this."
What he knew about awakening was limited to what he had badgered about and what he had seen, and he knew of it that all it took was one pair of eyes to compromise an identity. He knew of the senshi who had swapped one identity for another in order to safely serve the Court, and if a pair of cat eyes wasn't enough to compromise an identity, he didn't know what was. "I'll pull you through this mirror. You can ask me questions, and I'll answer, but ultimately should you accept," or, more importantly, if the Mirror accepted her, "you can leave this life—and all your troubles behind. You will have an entirely fresh start. A new name, a new life. A home to get back on your feet."

Taking the red and gold pen and then twirling it in her hand, it was probably a figment of her own imagination or something along that line but Ruan Ruan thought she felt something calling out to her from the object itself. Spooked somewhat by the event, she hurriedly slipped the pen into her pocket and was thereafter troubled no more. Reminder to self - do not ever pick up weird, possibly jinxed objects left behind by talking cats no matter how pretty they appeared to be. She would find a way to dispose of the pen later on, having no intention of doing that immediately lest she offended Remarque with her action.
Turning her attention back to the Eternal Dark Mirror Senshi beside her, she did as he bade her to, liquid brown orbs gazing upon her own reflection in the mirror before them. This was the up and coming pop idol who once took the entire of Taiwan by storm? Who was she trying to kid? Everything seemed to be at work in thwarting her plans at forging a new life for herself ever since she ran away from home. The long working hours over the past month had taken its toll on her as evident from the dark eye circles and the lackluster look in her eyes. Even if she wanted to run away from reality, it would catch up with her in some way eventually.
But more importantly, did Remarque really mean what he said? It would be cruel really to dangle such a promise in front of her, only to deny her of it later on. The blond looked trustworthy really. Dependable too. It didn't take any longer for her to make up her mind. "Alright. This is not going to involve extensive plastic surgery or the like. Right?" Would she say no if it had to come to that? Probably not. Anyone else in her shoes would be willing to try anything by this point really. She just wanted to know what exactly she was getting herself into even if she had to follow the Chaos Senshi into the mirror to get her answers.

"It involves nothing," Remarque promised. "It is absolutely, totally, instant and painless."
As if to reassure her, he gave the girl's hand a light squeeze, and then placed his free hand on the mirror. It rippled beneath his hand, and while such might have seemed an odd sight, he had seen it more times than he could remember. He pushed his hand through the mirror and instead of shattering it just accepted—embraced—him. He pushed through it as one would push through a thin wall of water.
Which is exactly what it felt like.
He drew Ruan with him, grip tight enough that he wasn't lose her—that she couldn’t run away—and loose enough that he didn't seem to pose much of a threat.
With a few short strides, they were gone.

Well, that was certainly reassuring in more ways than one. Ruan Ruan found herself thinking at Remarque's words, her gaze directed on his reflection in the mirror they now stood before as she nodded just once and gave his hand a squeeze that almost exactly mirrored his own. The expression on her face was strangely calm as she observed how the mirror responded to him, already all too eager to go wherever he intended to take her to so long as there was an explanation at the end as to just how exactly she was going to go about starting a new life under a new identity.
After her earlier encounter with a talking cat in Laoise, their current mode of travel through the mirror seemed like a relatively tame experience in comparison really. But she had a pretty good feeling that whatever Remarque had promised would be hers if she went with him. If there was anyone she knew who could make something as absurd as that come true at this point, it would definitely have to be him.
