The cemon circled north around the tower, with a gut wrenching turn, just to shut up his captive. Northeast they went, why, who knows?

Flare arrived at the clock tower, hoping that she was in the right place. She pulled the lifeless puppet out of her pocket, as though to ask it for confirmation.
If it did nothing, she put it back, and began searching around the clock tower for any unusual happenings. The demoness began heading toward the clock face...if she wanted a great many people to witness her show, that was where she would have it.

The clocktower shuddered as the hour was knelled out from it's great bells. Big Ben had nothing on this sucker.
There was a sound once the vibrations had died away, soft jingles in the square.
Flare would be able to see colors dancing into the air, only to fall, spinning, into someones waiting grasp, before being thrown again. Soft humming was heard.
"Hickory dickory dock..." If he knew she was there, he made no sign of it, casually doing as most buskers do when no ones around to pay. Practice.
"The mouse ran up the clock..." He wasn't strange...if he'd been more depressed he might have been a mime, but as it was he was very colourful and bright, white face, and red nose, patterns of crosses over his eyes.
"The clock struck one..." All but one of the balls simply vanished! Was it magic?
"The mouse ran down...Hickory dickory dock."

An inward groan. More nursery rhymes. If it hadn't been for Irene's unnatural obsession with them, she might have been able to tolerate better...
Still, Flare masked her feelings as she had so many times before. A small, unnatural smile lit her face, and she brought her hands together in applause.

He brightened in surprise. It was more eery then comforting the way he seemed to stand half in the shadow of the immense building behind him. a few pigeons fed idley, other then that, the two seemed to be the only one's there.
"Ah, lady! You gave me such a start!" The ball dissappeared and he made a dramatic bow, bells tinkling all over the place as he moved. There was no sign of any of the objects he'd been juggling, even though his outfit hugged his body in a classical clown sense.
"Though it does surprise me that such a lurid beauty like yourself failed earlier notice! I don't often let goddesses sneak up on me in such a manner."
His eyes did not waver from hers, there was something...strange about him. Though he did not seem unwhole, there was some kind of "misbalance" to him...as if, should she look a little harder, she'd might catch something wrong about this person.
Should she deem to stay away, however, he would seem nothing more or less then a simple human trying to vend the only wares he knew.

"Forgive me for startling you," Flare said, pitching her voice higher and softer, so that she might sound more like the lady he called her. "And I thank you for your praise. Your show intrigues me, sir..."
She was examining him as she spoke, watching him, trying to figure out what he was up to, what he was. Something seemed...off.
With glowing hands, she pulled a coin from her pouch and held it out to him. "Please, will you go on?"

"For you and your coin lady, this I'll gladly do." He winked at her, reaching out to gently take the coinage.
If unhindered, the coin would actually dance across his fingers and knuckles before dissappearing as well. About four of five colored balls would begin to spin in the air before her.
If hindered...that was up to the lady.

The coin was unhindered, of course. She did not offer coin only to take it away and laugh in people's faces.
...no, if she wanted to play that sort of game, she would manipulate the world in a way that forced the one who received to repay her somehow.
She watched the show, her eyes following the colored balls for a moment before returning to the odd fellow's face.
"You seem a knowledgable fellow, sir..." she addressed him again. "Would you know anything of the Petals of Chaos? I have more coin, if you do."

"Ahhhh lady, I knew you had the look of person on a quest for knowledge." More coloured balls flew, dizzying...were they differant colours? Were they changing sizes? It was hard to tell. How could one human juggle so many...
"Chaos surrounds us, the imbalance broken by the desires of those that would wish to gain from the depths of such delightfully decieving deviations." It seemed the man juggled words as much as he did his toys.
"You would look beautiful in the blackness...midnight, dark petals that cover the white skin of female flesh, causing a chaos within a mans very mortal soul, even in it's own right." He shifted, and suddenly seemed to be dancing in a coloured rainstorm, instead of juggling, each round creation caught, thrown, then caught again.
"The Petal that you seek, I might be aware of it...but I have a need that cannot be quenched by coinage alone..." Now that was certainly suggestive.

"Is it sex you want?" Flare may have been acting like a proper lady, but her words and deeds did not make her out to be one. "There can be that, too...if you can show me first that you indeed know of the Petal."

Blunt, to the point...he chuckled, and continued to juggle.
"Ouch pretty lady! You wound me to think I'd be so callous. But I like your attitude...you are obviously no coward." As he pondered he turned away from her, and what was so unright about him showed itself. A tail, the length of his leg, covered in skin, it looked like a possums...or better yet, a mouses, helped with his juggling.
"All I require is a simple kiss, a touch of the lips, face to face..." It all sounded so simple, a little too simple. "And the petal that you search for, could be yours..." He clapped his hands together. "I know! Up the clocktower! Catch me and kiss me before the bell calls the next hour, and it is yours."
And then, the balls exploded together in a big papery mess as confetti shot in her direction. A disorienting attack meant to cover his escape to the door, but not to do any damage to the girl.
It slammed behind him.

At the words "Catch me" Flare had lunged forward, opening her wings, straight into the confetti. Coughing and sputtering in indignation, she pulled the confetti off her as she flew up the outside of the clock tower as fast as her wings could take her. Her plan was simple...she would reach the top, use the door she had previously used to get into the clock tower from the clock face, then dive down upon the odd little rat man.

When Flare reached the top, and there was no doubt that she would, and opened the door she would look inside to find thousands of gears working there way through time.
But again something was odd. Some of the cogs seemed to be moving independantly, with no connection to the main works. Some were actually singing Spanish Opera in one corner. A few were faster, spinning so fast they were smoking, and in opposition a few were so slow, only the occational "tock" showed that they were moving.
The rat man, was juggling away merrily, spinning batons through the air as the giant cog he stood on turned into the shadows. And he was gone from her sight.
Could he vanish like the juggling items he made?
