“Yes,” he replied, smiling back. “It’ll be nice to have.”
He watched as Calder stretched, taking a moment to admire the boil’s shiny black hair and ears. The kelpie had been stunning in white, but Efflo had a definitive bias for black. His eyes strayed down to the boil’s clothing and aside from the fraying edges of his kilt; the undead horse couldn’t help but notice it was all in tact. Looking down at his own torn and tattered pants he frowned. He really needed to go shopping, but he hated the maul. There was too many creeple, too much noise, too much everything. But maybe… Maybe it would be okay if someone else went with him. He bet Calder knew a lot about clothes. Maybe he could even help him pick out something nice to wear for Gabby.
“Not much, really,” Efflo answered, trailing his finger through a puddle pooled on the dock beside him. “Say Calder… If you’re not busy or anything, would you… Want to go shopping? It’s just, I really need some new clothes and, well, I’d rather not go alone…”
He gestured at his pitiful excuse for pants with a grimace.
