Her thick fur was russet, all shades of orange and red mixed together with some browns and platinum blond to balance it out. She reminded him of the sunset, and damn she had a body to be admired. She was fit, healthy, and only a little bit shorter than he was.
They collided together, their bodies molding together for a moment as they rolled along in the snow. The white flakes flew up in the air to protest before falling in chunks around them. He pushed to his feet, shaking the snow from his fur as his legs spread apart to brace himself. Despite his vicious intentions of fighting her, he could help but bare a wolfy smile. As she spoke, she moved in towards him in order to n** at his tail. It would be a good way to test him. She could figure out how fast he reacted and how violently; knowing both of those things at the start tended to be the best way to start a fight. After all, if they were faster and stronger than her she definitely needed to find a way to play it smarter if they were after her life. She rather [i]liked[/i] living even more than she liked the playful look on his face. Sadly rogues tended to rub her the wrong way just by the very nature of what they were. And of course, she was none the wiser that he wasn't actually a rogue.
Her pace quickened in his direction, and her jaws opened ready to snap down on his luscious fluffy tail. He was instantly alarmed and darted forward enough that her teeth resounded with an empty breeze behind him. He whipped around, charging at her with as much speed he could muster with the short distance between them and clamped his teeth down on her leg. The momentum caught up with him and they barreled over in a wild summersault of their bodies. His head shook furiously as they twisted and her weight rolled over him she was thrown away from him. The taste of blood filled his mouth and painted like war paint across the fur around his mouth. He paused, doing a quick mental inventory to make sure he hadn’t been hurt in the process, and to his relief, he wasn’t. He stood back onto his feet, and shook off the snow once more to find her roughly ten feet away from him.
Pain rushed through her whole system. It wasn't an unfamiliar feeling though she hadn't been as prepared for it as she could have been. As she went to stand, [b]Analise[/b] found that the damage to her front leg was worse than she first thought but she didn't dare look down at it. That would let him know just how much of the upper hand he had at the moment, how wounded she really was. Plus there was the whole idea that things hurt worse once someone looked at it. Considering the mind numbing throbbing that was already taking place she didn't want to chance it getting worse.
When she got to her feet once more, staving off crumbing from the pain with will (read stubbornness), [b]Analise[/b] spoke out to him, [color=steelblue]"That tickled."[/color]
She had to find a way to throw him off his game after all. If banter did that, then that suited her just fine. Just as long as she got out of this fight alive, preferably the victor, she would do whatever needed to be done.
Even as she worked on her recovery, she shot back a snarky comment in his direction. It made him smile all the more. So, she was the type to save face just for him. There was something delightful at the idea that she was putting on a brave face for him. She was a tough one indeed. It seemed from her general mentality, she couldn’t have just been an average member of the pack. No, she definitely had some sort of status and had she not been injured she would have been a great contribution to Hale’s celebratory hunt. Shame, that she wasn’t going to get far now with her leg in the condition that it was. Why did he go for her leg? His throat would have just as easily been a real target. He wondered if he went easy on her because she was a girl, or if she was pretty. Perhaps he was just rusty at fighting. He hadn’t had the need to do such a thing for years, and it wasn’t in his mentality to be murderous. He hadn’t thought to go for a kill shot, and a part of him felt like an idiot for not picturing her as just prey sooner. It was just in his nature to see a woman and a fellow wolf. He didn’t like Hale laws, certainly didn’t live by them- but he knew then he had gotten himself into an ugly mess by following Romulus back to Sterling He needed to end this, quickly before he got himself into even more trouble. She was vulnerable, and he felt a calm roll over him knowing that he just had to finish her off and his part would be done. It shouldn’t have been too hard with her leg as injured as it was. [color=#ff6347]"Perhaps if you'd been a man, I might have been more vicious."[/color] [b]Remus[/b] commented out of an unsure observation.
Blood dripped down her fur into the muddied snow beneath her as the fight started to soak into her bones. No matter how playful and amusing this wolf was - this was a [i]fight[/i]. And it wasn't like the kinds she grew up with on the farm. It was the type she had only started to experience within the last two years. Life and death situations had a funny way of creeping up on her lately. Thankfully she'd always gotten handed life by whichever god had been controlling her fate up to this point - the wolf one (Lupen) or the Judo-christian, she didn't care as long as they were on her side of things.
With her uninjured front paw she lashed out at him. It wouldn't have been that strong of a hit, especially since she was using it as a way to push herself away from him. With an injured leg it would be hard enough to land an attack as it was. She didn't need him within snapping distance all the time. Otherwise there was never going to be a way she could outmaneuver him.
[color=steelblue]"Now [i]that's[/i] something I could say right back at you." [/color]
Ooh, that was harsh, not that he blamed her. He could imaging at she was fairly ticked off at him and if he were in her position he might have felt the same. She swiped at him, and he jumped back, tensing as his ears laid flat back along his head. He felt the aftermath of pressure tingle on his skin where her paws had been. He knew that he was likely to get a light bruise that would set in later. He bore his blood stained teeth and let out a low and dangerous growl. [color=#ff6347]“Well beautiful in that case, I don’t suppose you happen to be a Lesbian? I mean if you like women, I’ll be sure to bend you over and give you a good spanking.”[/color]
Good; she'd gotten the ground she needed to get a breath in both figuratively and literally. The stabbing pain from her splintered leg started to fade into the back. Or as much as such a pain could actually fade. Everytime she moved it struck up a new spark that ran through all her nerves to remind her of how damaged it really was. So as long as she kept still she'd be good. Unfortunately it didn't look like that would be allowed - not that she'd take that route. She was far too headstrong to back down even if that was an option. She'd back down mekely before because she'd been hurt, just once, and that had been the worst mistake of her life. She wasn't about to do it again.
[color=steelblue]"Might sooth your ego if I was,"[/color] she quipped back at him. [color=steelblue]"And the only time you'll get to touch my a** is in your dreams."[/color]
[color=#ff6347]“I’ll give you something else to smooth over.”[/color] He hummed with a perverted tone. [color=#ff6347]“Sorry babe- It’s nothing personal.”[/color] He announced running at a nearby tree and leaped into the air. His paws brushed against it, using the strong wood as his own personal springboard as he vaulted in her direction. His paws stretched forward,ready to crush her under his enormous size. It wasn’t until the last minute that she moved, and [b]Remus[/b]’s aim was thrown. He crashed into her, only managing to slam into her uninjured front shoulder. He felt the familiar crushing sensation in his shoulder, and her teeth sank into his skin.The bones in his shoulder crushed under her power, and he tumbled away from her with a yelp. As he wavered in his stance, he realized that it was absurdly uncomfortable to put his foot down. His paw just hovered over the snow as his weight leaned to one side. She had done something to his arm, the connection from his shoulder wasn’t the same as it had been before. s**t. He was in trouble now. His mind race wondering how he was going to execute his eventual escape plan. The answer was obvious, and painful. He was just going to have to push through it, or die. Maybe he could finish this and leave without having to run...maybe.
[color=steelblue]“Sorry darlin', it's nothing [i]personal[/i],”[/color] [b]Analise[/b] cooed out; had she been in human form, her southern accent definitely would have shown on that tease. [color=steelblue]"I mean it's [i]only[/i] life and death and you [i]did[/i] jump out at me from the trees."[/color]
[color=#ff6347]“We all have our parts to play baby. I may be new to this pack, but I know I don’t stand with Hale’s laws.You hate me for what I believe and I hate you what you believe. It’s just how the cookie crumbles.”[/color] [b]Remus[/b] settled his foot down, mentally preparing for the pain that was about to come by putting his weight down. He ran at her the best he could, and pushed his weight onto his back feet to meet her in the air in a sloppy collision of paws. They growled and snarled at each other, each battling for victory. [b]Remus[/b] felt a harsh scratch down his eye, as he missed her completely.
As her paw made contact, [b]Analise[/b] felt herself continuing to fall back. Without another arm to steady her front there was no chance of correcting her balance. However, she realized he was also falling away from her. It gave her enough time to get to her feet after crashing into a smaller snow bank. She stood up, chest heaving and ears pressed backwards against her skull. Her teeth nearly glowed white in the pale moonlight when she bared them, watching for his next move. But she realized just where her claws had connected and sank back a little bit as thoughts flew through her head.
He had the larger form which meant that, naturally, he was stronger than her. It also seemed like he knew exactly what he was doing so she knew that he had the experience in this body to either rival or surpass hers - that she was used to and that she knew she could overcome if it wasn't for the fact that her arm was screwed six ways from Sunday. If she hadn't been so reckless in the beginning she probably wouldn't be in this mess right now. She might have been able to use speed and distraction to her advantage. After all, he had seemed okay with getting distracted if his words were— his words.
[b]Analise[/b] finally realized what he had said. [i]New to this pack[/i]. He [i]wasn't[/i] a rogue with a bunch of rogues looking for some blood; that's what she had assumed had happened. It wouldn't have been the first time. No, he had said [i]pack[/i] which meant that this wasn't just a random attack. This had been planned. Swallowing as much of her pride (which raged at her for what she was about to do), [b]Analise[/b] used his inability to see clearly in order to take off through the trees.
[b]Remus[/b] tensed and forced his burning dry eyes open. He snarled, ears back and teeth bared only for her to take off in the trees. [b]Remus[/b] paused, waiting for some other form of attack to be thrust upon him, but none came. He told himself to get out while he could, but running off before the job was done felt like a bad move. It was by Lupen’s grace that he heard a howl in the distance. His head lifted and his eyes perked high on his head as his eyes darted to a high point in the sky. He knew then that was the call to retreat, for better or for worse. His eyes darted to the darkness of the trees that she had escaped to, and spoke to the night softly with a gentle mumble. [color=#ff6347]“See ya later dollface. It was fun.”[/color] With that, he made a slow and wobbled trot back to towards his pack.
